Disclaimer: You know the drill, I don’t own Smallville, yadda yadda yadda ^-^…..now let us just all sit back in the good company of this freshly squeezed lemon fanfic (hope you like it!!). It’s a Clana lemon!!!

……Takes place somewhere at the end of the third season….at the time that Clark runs away and instead of Lana and him staying at the night club, they somewhere a little more…..comfortable *wink*…..

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

He guided her through the full crowd, tugging her along by her arm. “So this is where you’ve been!? Hiding in night clubs!?” Lana screamed through the loud roar of the night club.
“Yeah, whats your point?” Clark turned around to face her “I thought you wanted to have a little fun, that’s why you came with me, relax.” His voice deep and cruel; the hot sticky air wasn’t even a match for what he had to say to her.
“I don’t understand! You leave for…this?! Leave the people who love you…come home, Clark...Please.” she pleaded with him.
Clark stared at her with smooth, dour eyes and wrapped his thick arms around her waist. Before Lana could protest he leaned in and enveloped her lips with his. Even though it was a kiss out of shear lust, it brought out something more.
Lana broke away from him and pushed him back against the bar counter. “How could you….Clark… I just don’t understand!” In frustration she left him standing there and darted towards the bathroom. Just as she got around the corner her cell phone went off. “Hello”
“Lana, Lana, its Pete, listen to me, you need to get the school ring off of Clarks finger! The ring is whats making him act the way he is!” Pete bellowed urgently.
“I’m here with him, but I just left him at the bar…but, what’s going on?!…” she cried.
Pete cut her off, calmly repeating what he had said before, “Lana, you need to get rid of the ring, it’s the only way, I’m sure Clark will explain later.”
Lana took in a ragged sigh, “Ok…ok….I’ll call you later.” and hung up. The next step was to find him, again, and hopefully he would still be at the club. Sure enough, Clark was right where she left him, elbows pressed to the bar.
“Clark” she took in a deep breath, “I need to talk to you, please.” She put a hand on his shoulder.
“Couldn’t last without me, huh?” she winched at his words.
“Please, Clark….I just thought we were going to a place a little more quiet than this, lets go, please. I want to be with just you….alone….Clark.” Half of what she said was true, she just needed to get him out of there. ‘Pete had better be right about this’ she thought as her head tilted towards the floor.
Clark took his hand and lifted her chin, and in the same egotistical tone said “Ok…how about we go back to m place?” All she could manage to do was to nod her head in agreement. “It’s settled then.” Clark grabbed Lana by the wrist and headed outside to the motorcycle.

*~*~*
The night air was chill and riding on a motorcycle didn’t help things any. The wind lapped at Lana’s dark hair and stung her pale face. She pressed her head against his back and tightened the grip she had around his waist. Being this close to Clark’s back was comforting, but the fact that her Clark Kent had gone “insane” didn’t leave the good feelings well enough alone.
Her thoughts disappeared when she felt the bike slow down and to a screeching halt. Clark grabbed the key out of the ignition and got off. He offered her his hand to get her off of the bike, it was probably the nicest thing he had done all night, it was something the old Clark would have done endlessly for her. He searched the key ring for the key to the apartment. Unlocking and opening the door, he allowed her first entrance to his extravagant home. Through the darkness Lana could see an adorn living room and an astounding kitchen; it was too much for such a simple guy.
“Where did you get all of this?” she was almost afraid to ask.
“You can say they were just a few...odd jobs.” a grim smirk slid across his face.
“Clark…”
She was cut off. He wrapped his arms around her tightly, pulling her in close, and placed his outsized finger to her lips. “Please, don’t talk.”
Lana clenched her eyes shut ‘How could he…why is treating me like this?!’ Her eyes opened, a stream of silent tears following her words “NO, Clark!” She backed away from him for the second time that night “I love you, Clark. Don’t do this to me….please….what’s wrong with you?!”
He brought his right hand up to his face and rubbed his forehead in frustration. “Look! I’ve told you at least once already, Smallville isn’t my home any more!”
Lana’s tears continued soundlessly as she looked up at Clark. And then she saw it ‘The ring!’ She moved slowly toward his dark figure, reaching out to him, all the while remaining calm as not to give him any suspicion, “Look at me” she placed her hand on his bicep “Clark.”
“Don’t!!” He brought his arm up and flung her to the floor. Lana slid across the ground and landed against the wall. Clark’s eyes glazed over as they darted from her lying figure to the rest of the room. ‘What have I done??’ Just then the ring glowed its bright red color, the kryptonite flowing through his arm and into his body. Clark cried out in pain, gripping at his chest. “Damnit!” he screamed, ripping open his shirt and forcing the ring off of his finger. Collapsing to the floor in a daze.
Lana looked across the room for Clark, but everything was in a haze. She struggled to get words out, “Cl…Clark” as she coughed.
“Lana.” He got up on his arms and knees and crawled to her, “Lana.” Clark sat down, gathering her up in his arms and pulling her body close to his. Several, small tears ran down his jaw line on onto her forehead. “I’m sorry, Lana, I’m so sorry.” He gently rocked her in his arms, his words muffled by his anguish.
“Clark” his name came out muted and slow “I’m ok.” Her eyelids opened, honeysuckle-brown eyes staring up at him. Lana pushed herself up, still sitting in Clark’s lap. Her hand felt like silk on his rough face as she cupped his cheek with her palm. “What’s going on, Clark? Please, you have nothing to hide from me.” her words were filled with sorrow, but her tears ceased. Her hand traveled from his face, down his neck, and to his torn open shirt. She looked at him with wide, terrified eyes as her hands roamed over the scar on his muscular torso, “How did you get this?”
His eyes searched her face for an answer, but all he found was confusion, “This is why you shouldn’t be near me. This is why we cont be together.”
“NO! That’s not an answer, Clark!! You can’t just expect me to come this far, find you like this and just walk away from you like none of this matters…that you mean nothing to me. I love you! So I’ not going anywhere until you give me some answers!” she choked on her tears.
“You wouldn’t accept me if you knew, Lana, you don’t know me…I’m not what I seem.”
“Try me! Damnit Clark, stop making excuses!”
For the second time that night Lana watched as a stream of tears ran down his face, to his jaw and then to his neck. “I’m not from here…I’m not human.”
“What do you mean your ‘not from here’, that you ‘not human’? You’re just as human as I am.”
Clark banged his head back against the wall and stared up at the ceiling, “I’m not from Earth. My parents…they found me after the meteor shower in the field. I…I tried to destroy the ship that I came here in, that’s why I stole that key you had…” he closed his eyes and rocked his head against the wall, tears continuing to fall, “…and it exploded…it’s all my fault that mom lost the baby.”
Lana’s eyes moved to and fro, trying to suck in all the sporadic information that she had been handed. She finally looked over at Clark, “it’s not your fault! It wasn’t your fault that your mom lost the baby. And as for…everything else…”
“I knew if I’d told you…you wouldn’t believe me…you wouldn’t want or accept me.” Clark cut in.
She got to her knees and crouched next to him and grabbed his head in her hands, “That’s not true…that’s not true, Clark, I know…I don’t quite understand what’s going on, but I believe you. And nothing would keep me from you.” She moved her hands to clasp his, “you’ve risked everything for me, I would never deny you.”
Silence filled the air, all except thunder could be heard outside. He got up on his feet and lifted Lana up to him. Her stare couldn’t be ignored; she was no longer saddened, but concerned. “Lana” he dug his face into her neck and wrapped his bulky arms around her tiny waist. Outside the rain began to fall rapidly, hiding the tears that fell inside the room.
Lana put her hand on his back and ran her fingers on her other hand through his dark brown hair. She drew in a sigh of relief, this was her Clark, even if he wasn’t from Earth or even if he wasn’t “human”, what was a human anyway. All that mattered was that he was back to the kind, gentle Clark Kent she used to know…and he belonged to her. Suddenly lightheadedness came to her and she felt faint, “Clark…” she blinked her eyes a couple of times “I don’t feel so good.”
Clark raised his head from her shoulder and moved his hands to her sides to support her. His eyes became slightly larger “What’s wrong, Lana…Lana” his voice becoming concerned.
