Ephram lift his gaze from the text book, put it aside and stretched his arms. Bright, who was sitting on Ephram’s bed, didn’t seem to notice the other boy was taking a break and just kept his eyes on his book. As Ephram watched Bright, all lost in his book, a light smile tugged his lips upwards.

‘That’s Bright Abbott there...sitting on my bed with a school book.’ Ephram thought, amused.

About six months ago this scene would have seemed unbelievable...but now...things were different. Bright was really trying to get his grades up. Hell, he had even demeaned himself to ask Ephram for help with the studies. And instead of hating each other, they were friends.

There never really was hate between them....Bright had just been a shallow jock back then, Ephram thought, smiling to himself. Well, he was still shallow but not a jock. And deep down, the guy wasn’t really that bad.

‘I guess it wouldn’t be out of place to say that I enjoy his company.’ Ephram thought, watching Bright run his hand through his unruly locks of hair.

But maybe it wasn’t just Bright who had changed. Maybe there was something different with Ephram, too. He frowned when he noticed he was still staring at the other boy. As Ephram realized that for sreasreason he was having difficulties to rid his gaze from Bright, a light blush began to spread on his cheeks.

‘...Look away, Brown....Just turn your head!’ Ephram ordered himself, his eyes unintentionally concentrating on the way Bright’s lips silently moved as he read from the book. A wave of confusion washed through him.

‘Why am I staring at him like this?? ...It’s Bright Abbott, not Cameron Diaz!’

Bright had obviously felt Eprham watching him, for he blinked his eyes and slowly lift his gaze from the book. Ephram’s heart jumped in his chest as their eyes met and he felt his face grow hot, knowing he was blushing.

“Dude, you’re like glowing red!...Are you ok?” Bright asked, his brow furrowed with confusion.

Ephram managed to open his mouth but no complete sentence seemed to come out. All he managed was some vague stammering.

“I...I..was...just ...I was...I...I...”

Ephram’s weird hawking was making no sense to Bright.

“What? Are you choking or something? ‘Cause I do know the Heimlich maoeuvre...” Bright informed, his eyes narrowed. Luckily for Ephram, there was a knock on the door and a moment later, his father stepped into the room.

“You guys still studying?” Andy inquired, receiving a nod from both boys. “Well, I’m afraid I have some bad news.”

“You cooked something?” Ephram asked, already feeling the blush disappear from his face. Andy just narrowed his eyes at Ephram’s witty comment and pointed at the window.

“I bet you didn’t notice that...”

“It’s a snow storm!” Bright exclaimed, getting up from the bed. He walked to the window that was mostly covered by snow and peered out.

“Yes, we’ve been snowed in, so I doubt you’ll be getting home tonight, Bright. But no worries! This time I’m prepared and have all the snow stuff.” Andy spoke, sounding pleased with himself.

“Make sure you call home and inform your parents...especially your father...Oh, and I did cook something, but Delia helped. Come and eat before you go to bed.” He continued and then walked out of the room.

Bright stuffed his hands into his jeans’ pockets and turned to face Ephram.

“So...snowed in...again.” Ephram stated, standing up from his chair.

“Yeah...And what happy memories that brings to mind...” Bright groaned, a pained look on his face.

Ephram realized he was talking about the last time there was a snow storm like this; about the time Bright’s appendix burst. Ephram still remembered how Bright was carried into Irv’s bus, lying on their kitchen table, moaning from pain, his face pale.

“So, where do I sleep?” Bright asked, giving Ephram a questioning look.

“Well you have two options: you can either sleep on the living room couch and have Delia stare at you while you sleep...or you can sleep here with me.”

“And when you say ‘sleep here with me’, you do mean on the floor or something, right? ...Not in the same bed?” Bright grinned, raising his eyebrows. Ephram just rolled his eyes, but felt an odd feeling rush through his body. He pushed it aside and ignored it.

“Yeah! Like, there’s nothing I’d want more than to share my bed with you, dimwit. You know, let you hog all the blanket, watch you drool on my pillow...” Ephram commented as he followed Bright out of his room.

“I know...”

Ephram finished changing into his pajamas and waited for Bright to come out of the bathroom. They had had some of Andy’s and Delia’s cookies earlier and Bright and Delia had had a very interesting conversation about some cartoon Ephram hadn’t even heard of.

“I see we won’t be sharing the bed after all...” Bright spoke, leaning against the doorframe, eyeing the mattress placed next to Ephram’s bed.

“You have my dad to thank for that. He brought this here.” Ephram threw Bright a pillow and a blanket. As the older boy began to pull his shirt over his head, Ephram, once again found himself unable to tear his eyes away from Bright.

“W-what are you doing?” he stammered, his eyes fixed on Bright’s torso. The scar from the surgery his father had performed was still visible.

“Taking my shirt off? What? You expect me to sleep in my jeans and sweater?” Bright laughed, giving Ephram an amused look.

Ephram licked his lips and swallowed, his eyes following the movements of Bright’s hands as he lowered his jeans.

“Well...I...I could lend you ...something from my wardrobe.”

“I don’t think your geeky tee-shirts will fit me.” Bright answered and gave Ephram his usual smile, wearing only his boxer-shorts.

Ephram blinked his eyes, feeling his face grow hot again. ‘What’s with me? ...He isn’t supposed to make me feel this way...!’

As Bright turned around to close the door, Ephram’s eyes kept watching. The boy let out a silent gasp as he suddenly felt a jolt travel straight to his lower-regions. Knowing what it meant, he quickly dived into his bed, under the covers, missing the bewildered look on Bright’s face.

“...You do know you’re weird, right?” Bright commented, watching Ephram who was now lying in a foetal position under the covers.

“I waI was just cold...” Ephram mumbled, sure not to look at Bright, his breathing slightly ragged.

“O-kay...” Bright rolled his eyes and lay down on the mattress. They were silent for some time, neither of them really knowing what to say.

“So...aren’t we like, supposed to giggle and share secrets?” Bright finally asked from the floor, trying to find a comfortable position.

“This isn’t a slumber-party, Bright. Those things are for 10 year-old girls.” Ephram spoke. “And the last time I checked, you were 18 and a guy.”

Ephram put off his table lamp and shifted on the bed. He hopihoping it would already be morning so the half-naked Bright would be out of his sight, not in his room, sending weird signals down to his groin.

“Let’s just go to sleep, ok?” Ephram suggested, knowing it was only about 10.00 pm.

“What? But it’s so early...I’m not tired at all! ...And by the way, this mattress is like stone...my back is killing me...” Bright complained. When Ephram gave him no answer, he gave up and pulled the blanket up to his ear. “Fine...spoilsport.”

**********

Bright woke up to a sound that had reached his brain through his sleep. He sat up and glanced at the alarm clock on the nightstand.

‘Almost 2.00 am....’

It had taken Bright at least two hours to fall asleep and now he was awake again. He rubbed his aching back and silently cursed the mattress to hell. Bright was about to ask himself what had woken him up but heard Ephram wriggle on the bed. The other boy was moaning in his sleep, rolling from side to side, his blanket half thrown on the floor. Bright watched this for a moment, not sure what to do.

‘What’s with him? Is he having a nightmare?’

When the moans grew louder, Bright reached out hesitantly and lay his hand on Ephram’s shoulder.

“Hey, dude! Wake up!” Bright came to sit on the bed and shook Ephram awake. With a loud gasp Ephram’s eyes snapped open and for a while he didn’t seem to know what was happening.

“Relax, you were just having a nightmare.” Bright whispered, watching Ephram in the dim room.

Ephram didn’t say anything, just stared at the older boy, his breathing ragged. When Bright was about to move back down to the mattress, Ephram grabbed his arm and pulled him down on the bed.

“What are you-“

Bright’s ability to speak seemed to disappear as he felt Ephram pull him tightly against his smaller frame. It soon came very clear to Bright that it wasn’t a nightmare that had made Ephram moan. The visible hardness, pressing against Bright’s abdomen served as proof.

For some time they lay there like that. Bright’s brain was trying to register what was going on. As he felt the erection, pressing against his stomach, twitch, Bright suddenly found himself unable to think coherently. And instead of pulling away and feeling disgusted, Bright was slowly starting to press himself against Ephram, feeling a tingle in his own lower-regions.

As Ephram felt Bright’s movements, he tightened his hold and hesitantly began to rock his hips upwards. He heard Bright let out a sigh and paused as the older boy shifted on the bed, moving to lie on top of Ephram.

Bright began to thrust his hips against Ephram’s, feeling himself grow harder. He didn’t know why this was happening, why Ephram Brown of all people was having this effect on him. And he didn’t care.

Ephram gripped Bright’s shoulders and urged him to fasten the pace. Humping himself against Ephram, Bright began to moan, already feeling wetness in his boxers.

“Shh...don’t...my dad might hear us...” Ephram managed to warn, then buried his face in the hollow of Bright’s neck to suppress his own moans.

Ephram felt Bright’s hard cock rub against his and rocked his hips faster, feeling the need to explode. Bright obviously noticed this and pressed harder against Ephram. The room was filled with muffled moans and the sound of the bed creaking from Bright’s powerful thrusts. Ephram let out a whimper, convulsed slightly and Bright soon felt a warm rush flow against his crotch.

Ephram noticed Bright was still rock hard, waiting for him to come down from the high. Slowly he guided his right hand down between them and into Bright’s underwear. The mere brush of his fingers against Bright’s weeping cock was enough to make the older boy shiver.

Ephram twined his hand around the shaft and began a steady pumping motion, hearing Bright hiss through gritted teeth. The organ in his hand throbbed as Ephram moved his now slick hand. Bright began to thrust into Ephram’s fist harder and harder, until he finally buried his face in the mattress and came.

Ephram felt Bright tremble slightly and blinked his eyes as warm spurts of cum covered his hand. He rubbed his thumb against the slit, this causing Bright to jerk, then pulled his hand out.

Feeling exhausted, Bright rolled to lie beside Ephram. They were silent for a long time. When his breathing was finally even enough, Ephram cleared his throat and broke the silence.

“So...what happens now?” he asked, trying to hide the nervousness in his voice.

Bright turned to face him and arched his brows. “You mean with us? You and me...”

Ephram nodded, but decided to speak, not sure if Bright could see him in the dark room.

“Yeah...are we like...Ok? ...Or does this change everything between us?”

Bright was silent for some time and Ephram figured he was thinking.

“I don’t know why we...did what we just did...I mean, you’re just my friend...and I’m like, not gay!” Bright began. “...But I..kinda liked ...it. So from my part, we’re still friends.” He could hear Ephram sigh in relief.

“Well I’m glad. You’re a good guy, Bright, and I’m happy that we’re finally friends, so I don’t wanna lose that.” Ephram spoke, smiling in the dark.

“So...do I have to go back to the killer mattress or can I sleep here with you?” Bright inqu.
.

“Only if you promise not to drool on my pillow.” Ephram replied, laughing.

The end.
