This Lack Of Self-Control I Fear Is Never Ending

“Go to hell Clark!” Chloe spat viciously, twisting from his grip, darting for the door.

He started after her, but a pulse of energy screamed into existence threatening to bring him to his knees. He clasped his hands over his ears, but the sound continued to echo through him. His name embedded in a barrage of sound that was signaling from the cave.

Kal-el.

The cave was calling to him, demanding his attention.

Clark gritted his teeth in frustration at the onslaught.

Why now?

He hadn’t heard voice since... since he’d come back from... from that place he couldn’t quite remember. That place he didn’t want to remember.

And what about Chloe? Why was his name on her lips?

The hum’s tone increased, and vibrated through him, painfully insisting acknowledgement.

The cave.

He had to get to the cave.

He had no more than thought it and he was on his way, superspeeding through hallways and out doors, down wide steps, deftly avoiding everything in his path, speeding up further when he reached the parking lot.

He turned in an inadvertent dance of grace as he sped past Chloe, reaching out, he traced the curve of her beautiful bottom lip with a fingertip that trembled in want, in need, but the hum drove him past her and the dark furious part of him keened and cried out her name when she blurred like the rest of reality as he ran, compelled towards the sound that shrieked his name.
