A Little Taste Of Hypocrisy
Chapter Five: A Little Taste Of Hypocrisy
*************
and I'm left in the wake of the mistake
slow to react
“Chloe, I...”
Clark moved closer and reached out to touch her cheek.
Memory echoed as he smiled cruelly.
‘Don’t you wish.’
She couldn’t help herself, she flinched and drew away. The puzzlement in his hazel-green eyes only added more pain to her shredded psyche.
Chloe dropped her head and shielded her eyes with one hand. Defeat shaded her voice.
“Go away.”
She hugged herself tighter as he did the opposite, moving closer, until their bodies were almost touching. Chloe moaned softly, welcoming the chaotic onslaught of energy radiating from him in raw tormenting pulses of need and want.
She shuddered; the overload of sensation was an exquisite hurt, a low throbbing desire that sharpened when he grabbed her roughly. His head lowered towards hers.
Haunted by devastating memory Chloe whimpered and tried to pull away from him.
Rage blazed his eyes blue and he snarled in a voice that was harsh with the dangerous promise of dark retribution.
“What the hell did he do to you?”
His hands on her upper arms tightened painfully as he lifted her up to her toes and shook her. Fury fueled by a frantic fear distorted his features.
“Please don’t leave me,” he whispered and broke her heart anew as confusion loosened his grip and marred his beautiful face.
Tears of frustration blurred her vision as she echoed blue rage.
“Go to hell Clark!” Chloe spat viciously, twisting from his grip.
