Tarzan Teaches Jane

“Your sister is on the phone. She said she tried your cell, and that you said to call here.”
Hearing what Kathleen said, Jane quickly moved away from an obviously disappointed and now groaning John saying,
“Oh yeah, sorry about that. I just wasn’t sure how long I would be here, and I never seem to hear my cell phone anymore.”

Late at night when all the world
is sleeping
I'd stay up and think of you
And I'd wish on a star
That somewhere you are
thinking
of me too

“Don’t worry about It, really. It’s not a problem.”
Then casting a mischievous smile at John, Kathleen followed by saying,
“Besides with any luck you’ll be used to it in no time.”
Stopping in her tracks from surprise, Jane spun around to face Kathleen before saying,
“Oh, about that I had no idea John was going to confront you asking if I could move in. I told him I had to speak with you, and not to get his hopes up.”
Raising a hand to silence her, Kathleen confirmed John’s words saying,

Then here in my room,
Dreaming about

“Jane like I told John, this is his home as much as mine. Besides I would love to have both you and your sister living here. I have really missed there being a real family around. So if and hopefully when you decide to move in I will be more than happy to welcome the both of you.”

Wonder if you even

Coming up behind them, John placed his hand on Jane’s lower back reminding her of the phone call saying,
“Nikki.”
“What? Oh right excuse me. I um ah, have to take that.”
Jane managed to stutter out through the conflicting feelings now coursing through her at the thought of she and John actually becoming a family a whole lot sooner than expected.
Looking over her shoulder with a loving smile, Jane then hurried to the phone.
Watching as she made her way to speak with Nikki, John said to Kathleen,
“Thank you.”

Placing her hand on his shoulder, Kathleen said to him,
“John I know how much you care for her. Plus the two of you are having a baby. I want you to be happy, and I know being able to have all of you together would make you happier than anything else.”

On her way to the phone, Jane was able to hear the two of them speaking along with the next song that had come on, and found herself crying with no warning.
Saying out loud in frustration,
“Oh great, don’t tell me I will be able to start blaming stuff on my hormones already.”
Laughing at herself, and grabbing a Kleenex she picked up the phone before sitting down on one of the overstuffed, comfy chairs ready to talk to her sister.

John looked her in the eyes once she said that, showing Kathleen that she was indeed correct, but when he moved to hug her she was nearly driven to tears at the amount of trusting love, and compassion that seemed to flow from him in waves.
