CHAPTER THIRTY ONE

I can feel it
coming in the air tonight,
Oh Lord
And I've been waiting for this moment,
For all my life,
Oh Lord

“Hello. Are you two in here?”
Kathleen asked without fully entering the atrium just in case they were busy.
The both of them turned to look towards the door, but Jane noticed that John did not seem to be planning on answering any time soon and said,
“Yes, were out here.”
Jane feeling slightly self conscious stood up before Kathleen had the chance to get to them.
“There you are. I just wanted to let you know that my private investigator just contacted me about your apartment.”

Can you feel it
coming in the air tonight,
Oh Lord,
Oh Lord

John immediately stood up next to Jane protectively.
“Oh what did he find out?”
Jane asked anxious.
“It was what we figured. Richard was behind it. A neighbor agreed to talk to my P.I. if they would remain anonymous, and was able to identify a few of Richards goons as the intruders.”
Suddenly all John could think of was that his uncle was trying to hurt Jane, just like when he had first found him in the jungle. When he had watched his uncle kill part of the only true family he knew right in front of his eyes, and he was not about to let him get away with it again.

Well, if you told me
You were drowning
I would not lend a hand
I've seen your face before my friend
But I don't know if you know who I am
Well, I was there
And I saw what you did
I saw it with my own two eyes
So you can wipe off the grin,
I know where you've been
It's all been a pack of lies
And I can feel it
Coming in the air tonight,
Oh Lord
Well I've been waiting for this moment
For all my life,
Oh Lord
I can feel it
Coming in the air tonight,
Oh Lord,
And I've been waiting for this moment
For all my life,
Oh Lord,
Oh Lord

Both Kathleen and Jane noticed the rage spread a cross John’s face.
Jane was about to try and calm him down some, afraid of what he was thinking.
Just as she was about to, John spun around heading straight for the side of the building.
Jane quickly yelled out,
“John no! Don’t do it, please.”
John stopped just before he was about to volt over the side, but did not turn around, then said
“He wants to hurt you.”

Well I remember,
I remember don't worry
How could I ever forget,
It's the first time,
The last time
We ever met
But I
Know the reason
Why you keep your silence up,
No you don't fool me
The hurt doesn't show;
But the pain still grows
It's no stranger to you or me
And I can feel it coming in the air tonight,
Oh lord

Well I've been waiting for this moment
For all my life,
Oh Lord
I can feel it
In the air tonight,
Oh Lord,
oh lord

Kathleen reached out touching Jane on the arm lightly saying in an almost whisper,
“Maybe the two of us should discuss this later on. If you two would like to, I would love it if you could join me for a late supper in a little while. I was so busy that I forgot all about it earlier.”
“Thank you. That sounds great.”
Jane answered realizing that she was quite hungry.
Having agreed on that, Kathleen excused herself to let the two of them could talk things out in private.
Taking a deep breath, ready to convince him not to go after his demented uncle, but when she turned around expecting to find John still in the same place he was gone.

Well iv been waiting for this moment
For all my life
Oh lord
I can feel it
Coming in the air tonight
Oh lord
And iv been waiting for this moment
For all my life
Oh lord

Running to the side of the building hoping to somehow see him before it was to late was pointless.
Jane said out loud in frustration,
“Dang it John. Please don’t do what I think your going to do.”

I can feel it in the air tonight
Oh lord
Oh lord
And Iv been waiting for this moment
For all my life
Oh lord
Oh lord
I can feel it coming
In the air tonight
Oh lord
Oh lord
Oh lord

“Stay with me, and I wont.’
Came John’s unwavering voice from directly behind her.
“AH! John! Jeez I thought we talked about that.”
Jane scolded with very little anger behind it, before throwing her arms around his neck saying,
“Oh thank god. I thought for sure you went after him.”
Not getting an answer from Jane, he repeated himself,
“Stay with me and I won’t.”
“I am with you.”
Jane answered confused at what he was saying.
Gripping her waist with both hands to push her back enough to look her in the eyes, John explained
“No, I mean stay with me here. Don’t go back to your apartment. Live with me. Then I won’t go after him. Stay with me where you are safe. Where both of you are safe.”
Looking at him closely, Jane realized he meant it completely.
Either she stays with him, or he would take care of Richard once and for all.
