All's Fair In Love And War.

"You two are disgusting" Frank said with an air of Superiority. "Care to watch Frank? You can bring Hotlips along as well if you like, maybe she can learn a thing or two." Hawkeye replied with a cheeky smirk, trying with all his might to suppress the feeling of frustration that was quickly building up inside him. "Watch your mouth Pierce before I put you on report." Frank sat down on his bunk, got out a book and began reading. "Frank, do you mind, we would like a little privacy here. Where are you going?" Hawk asked me as I got up to leave. I shook my head. "I can't do this" I said shakily, "I'm sorry." And with that I rushed out of the tent leaving Hawkeye somewhat confused. "Well well well, the famous ladies man, jilted." Frank said with a snigger. "Shut up Frank." " Maybe she's decided that she doesn't want to be just another notch on your bed post." "I said shut up Frank before I ask Radar to announce over the P.R that you've been sharing a bed with Hotlips since I don't know when." Hawk shouted. "You wouldn't dare" Frank closed the book and threw it down on his bunk. "I'm outa here," he said. "Some of us have better things to do than sit moping around feeling sorry for ourselves." Hawk looked up just in time to see Frank close the door behind him. "What's the matter with me?" he asked to no one in particular. Running his long fingers through his black hair Hawk sighed, closed his eyes and flopped back onto the cot.

He was still there when BJ walked back in some 30 minutes later. "You ok Hawk?" he asked. "Not really Beej." "Where's Jen?" "She's gone, left, moved out, departed, not here." "Hey, calm down. What's wrong?" BJ asked with a look of concern. "I don't know. One minute I'm fine, chasing nurses left right and centre, the next, I can't stop thinking about her. I hear her voice and my legs go weak. What am I going to do?" "Go talk to her." BJ said matter of factly. "I can't do that. Usually I'm so good with words but I can't think of a single thing to say." "You'll think of something, trust me. Now go find her."

I couldn't go back to the swamp, could I? Not after I turned Hawkeye down. I was lying on my cot wondering what kind of things would be going through his head. Would he be wondering why I left so quickly? Would he want to see me again? There's only one way to find out I thought decisively. Get on up and go over there. I opened the door and peeked out, then, taking a deep breath I walked over to the swamp. I got there just in time to hear BJ say "You'll think of something, trust me. Now go find her." My heart was racing, I almost turned round and ran back to my tent, but I realised I wouldn't make it in time. BJ had given me my cue and it was time to face the music. I opened the door and walked inside.
