Ransom
Chapter 12

"Hazzard County Sheriff's off..."

"Rosco, it's Jesse Duke," he interrupted the standard greeting.

"Jesse! What's wrong? Has something happened to Bo?" Rosco asked, trying to stomp down on the panic that threatened to take over.

"Just calm down Rosco. Me and Luke brought Bo over to Doc Appleby's office. We don't know what's wrong yet, Amos is still examining him but I thought you should know."

"I'll be there in a few minutes, and Jesse, thank you," he sincerely told the older man, before hanging up the phone.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In less than ten minutes Rosco was parking his patrol car in front of the doctor's office and hurrying inside. "Any news?" he asked the moment he walked through the door.

"Not yet Rosco," Jesse answered, looking worriedly at the the door leading to the exam rooms.

"Well what happened anyway? Why'd ya bring him here?"

"We were talking and his head started hurting," Luke explained. " I went to get him an aspirin but before I could get back I heard him cry out in pain. I got to him just in time for him to collapse against me, so we figured we should bring him to the hospital. He was so against that idea though that we comprimised and brought him here," he finished, leaving out the attack as they went to the truck.

"Ya ain't got no idea what brought it on?"

Luke gave Jesse a look, silently asking if he should tell Rosco about Bo being upset.

"What?" Rosco asked, seeing the look and wondering what else had happened while he was gone.

At Jesse's nod, Luke turned back to the other man, "He was pretty upset. I didn't know why at first, it started right after he woke up on the couch a few minutes after you left. Right before his head started hurting I got it out of him; he thought you'd left him, cause he was too much of a burden."

"A burden? How could he think I would...?"

"He said you've been pulling away from him since the kidnapping, so I guess when he woke up and you weren't there he jumped to the wrong conclusion. It was the wrong conclusion, wasn't it?"

"Of course it was...sort of," he reluctantly added the last bit.

"What do you mean sort of?" Luke asked suspiciously, instantly prepared to protect his cousin.

"I ain't leaving him, and I could never think of him as a burden. He is right though that there's been a problem, but there ain't no more. I can't tell ya more than that Luke, I owe it to your cousin to explain it to him first."

"Alright Rosco, I'll give ya a chance to do that, but if you hurt him there won't be no place you can hide," Luke warned.

"Understood," Rosco acknowledged the warning.

"Doc!" Jesse called, jumping to his feet as the doctor stepped into the waiting room. "Is Bo gonna be okay?"

"If y'all would come with me, I'll explain what's happening to Bo," Amos replied, leading them back to the exam room.

Following the doctor into the room, they were surprised to see Bo sitting up on the exam table a pair of sunglasses perched on his face.

"Doc?" Bo called when he heard the door open.

"Yes Bo?"

"Are you sure about what ya told me?"

"Yes Bo I'm sure."

"What'd he tell ya sweetheart?" Rosco asked, moving to stand next to his lover.

"Rosco? You're here?" Bo asked, obviously surprised.

"Of course I am, where else would I be?"

"I'm glad ya are," he replied with a heart stopping smile.

"So, one of you gonna tell us what's going on?" Rosco asked, looking between Bo and the doctor.

"My sight's coming back!" Bo excitedly answered.

"Are you sure? Doc?"

"I can't say how long it'll take, but his sight is definitely returning. That's what was causing the pain."

"How's that?" Jesse asked, taking one of the two chairs in the room.

"Well you see, as I said before the cause of the blindness is the swelling which is putting pressure on Bo's optic nerve. That swelling is finally going down, but just like anywhere else in the body it's not going to diminish overnight. Now as the pressure is released, his sight will gradually improve with the first sign being a reaction to light. That's what happened earlier, think of it like this: suppose you'd been in a cave for several hours and when you came outside it was noon on a sunny day. What happens?"

"You're eyes try to shut, they tear up and...your head hurts," Jesse replied as understanding dawned. "But this started in his bedroom Amos, it wasn't that light in there."

"Not to you, or me, but to somebody who's lived in complete darkness for a week? It was like noon on a sunny day, and when you took him outside it must've felt like his head was going to explode," Amos explained.

"Aw Bo, I'm sorry sprout, I never even thought about anything like that," Jesse apologized as he moved to the table.

"It's alright Uncle Jesse. Shoot it was happening to me and I didn't even realize I was seeing flashes of light 'til the Doc was examining me."

"So what happens now?" Luke asked.

"Now...we wait and Bo wears those sunglasses indoors and doesn't go outside without the glasses and a hat that shades his face," the doctor replied. Moving to stand directly in front of his patient, he sternly reminded him of the instructions. "I mean it Bo, at this point your pupils aren't functioning completely right and if too much light is allowed to pass through to the retina it could do irreparable harm."

"Don't worry Doc, I ain't gonna forget," Bo assured the older man. "Believe me, I know just how prescious my sight is, I won't do anything to chance losing it for good."

Smiling broadly, though Bo couldn't see it, Amos reached out to pat him on the shoulder. "Good, now get on out of here, I got sick people to take care of."

"Yes sir," Bo grinned, immediately sliding off the table. Just before they left the building, he startled slightly as Jesse placed his own hat on Bo's head.

"You wear this home son, I reckon I can do without it for a bit," Jesse softly said as he placed the hat on Bo.

"Your hat?"

"Yep, ya look good in red," Jesse replied with a grin.

"Thanks Uncle Jesse," Bo said, grinning himself as he allowed Rosco to lead him from the building.

Rosco led Bo to his patrol car, and helped him into the front seat, "I'll be right back Bo." Shutting the door, he hurried over to Jesse and Luke. "If y'all don't mind I'm going to take Bo somewhere that we can talk, I think we need to be alone so we can work this out."

"But what about..."

"That'll be fine Rosco," Jesse interrupted his nephew. "Don't worry Luke, Rosco will take care of your cousin, come on now."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Rosco, is everything okay?" Bo asked as they drove away from the doctor's office.

"Everything's great Bo."

"We ain't going to the farm, are we?" Bo asked, hearing the grin in his lover's voice.

"No we're not, I thought we'd go to our place...Bo!" he cried out, quickly pulling to the side of the road.

When Bo heard Rosco's reply, he felt the world shifting beneath his feet as the blood drained from his face.

"Talk to me sweetheart, what is it? What's wrong? Is it your head?" Rosco asked, turning his lover towards him as he looked for a reason for the blond's sudden paleness.

"No, head's fine," Bo quietly replied. Taking a shuddering breath, he forced himself to calm down, "I just hadn't thought about going back there yet."

"Damn! I'm sorry Bo, I never even thought...it's okay we don't have to go there, we can go somewhere else."

"No Rosco, I want to go there. I don't want tttto let them...I won't let them ruin a place that's special to us both," Bo firmly insisted.

"Are ya sure? I don't want ya pushing yourself."

"I'm sure cowboy, come on, let's go, okay?"

"I love you, ya know that don't you?"

"I love you too," Bo replied. Leaning forward, he sighed when he felt his lover's lips touching his own.

Reluctantly pulling away from his young lover, Rosco put the car in gear and pulled back onto the road. Fifteen minutes later, he was parking in front of the Jenkin's place and turning off the motor. Sliding out of his seat, he hurried to the other side of the car. Helping Bo out of the vehicle, he carefully led him inside the old house. "Do you want to stay downstairs?"

"Can we?"

"Of course we can," Rosco replied, leading Bo into the living room to sit on the sofa. "Bo, um, well...Luke told me what y'all were talking about earlier."

"He did?" Bo squeaked out past suddenly dry lips.

"Yeah and the first thing I want to tell you is, you could never be a burden to me. I love you Bo, taking care of the people you love is just a part of love and life, so no more thinking you're a burden, okay?" Rosco asked, wrapping an arm around the man he loved.

"Okay," Bo agreed. "But if that's not the problem, then why have you been pulling away from me, and don't try to deny it. I'm blind, not stupid," he reminded his lover.

"I won't deny it Bo, you're right I was pulling away. Ya see sweetheart I was afraid that you'd get hurt again because of me..."

"I didn't get hurt cause of you Rosco, I was hurt because those men decided to kidnap me. That was their doing, not your's, please don't blame yourself."

"I know all of that Bo, but now that it's happened I've been worrying about it happening again. That's why I've been pulling away from ya. The truth is, I was thinking about leaving ya, to keep you safe."

"I can take care of myself Rosco!" Bo yelled, hiding his fear with anger. "Besides even before we got together I got hurt plenty of times by criminals," he pointed out.

"I know ya did, Jesse pointed that out to me when he found me in the hospital chapel."

"He did?"

"Yeah, and I did think about that, but it wasn't him that convinced me that leaving you wouldn't really solve anything."

"It wasn't? Then what happened to convince ya?"

"You'll never believe it," Rosco teased.

"Rosco! Tell me," Bo tried to order through his light laughter.

"Well I was sitting at the jail earlier, thinking about all of this and trying to figure out what to do, when somebody caught me staring at your picture."

"Would you stop it and just tell me who?"

"Boss Hogg."

"He didn't give you any trouble did he?"

"No, in fact he's the one who convinced me that I should stay with you. He pointed out that if they hadn't kidnapped you they would've taken somebody else I care about, like Mama or Lulu. Then he asked me if I was gonna cut myself off from everybody just to protect them."

"He said that?"

"I know, I was surprised too. Though not nearly as surprised as when he said he didn't want to see me making myself miserable because of what them two had done. The thing that finally convinced me though was when he pointed out that you ain't weak and wouldn't want to be treated like.... Now how did he put it, oh yeah, ya wouldn't want to be treated like a delicate flower."

"Well he's right about that," Bo said, agreeing wholeheartedly. "I just can't get over Boss encouraging you to stay with me," he said, shaking his head in disbelief. "Glad he did though, and I'm even more glad ya listened," Bo said, snuggling into Rosco's embrace.

"So am I," Rosco agreed. "Bo? I'm sorry I put you through that worry, can ya forgive me?"

"I forgave ya the minute you finished explaining why I wasn't a burden and what was really going on. I love you cowboy, nothing could ever change that," Bo whispered, nuzzling against Rosco's throat. "Rosco?"

"Hmmmm?" he replied, enjoying the feeling of Bo's lips against his skin.

"Make love to me, please?"

"Are ya sure you're ready? What about the gunshot wound and the headache?"

"Headache's gone, but I guess the incision could be a problem, I hadn't thought about that," he reluctantly admitted. "Could we at least stay here for a while? I've missed having your arms around me," he whispered, his voice thick with emotion.

"We can do that," Rosco answered with a smile. "I love you Bo and as soon as you're completely healed, I'll show you just how much, I promise." Rosco swore, laying his lover back against the cushions of the sofa as he claimed his lips in a passionate kiss.

"Gonna hold you to that cowboy," Bo whispered, breaking the kiss and reaching up to caress his lover's face with one hand. With a smile that was filled with love, Bo pulled his lover to him, kissing him deeply.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ten days later, with a clean bill of health and fully restored sight, Bo drove to the police station. Climbing out of the General, he ran up the steps, anxious to see his lover. "Rosco!" he called excitedly as he came through the doors, sliding to a stop when he didn't see the older man.

"Downstairs Bo!"

Smiling again, he hurried down the steps, "Wow! You sure are a sight for sore eyes."

"I guess everything went good at the Doc's?" Rosco asked, setting the broom down and giving Bo a light kiss.

"Clean bill of health," Bo confirmed. "So, when you gonna keep your promise?" he asked, with a seductive smile.

"Damn, you sure know how to make things hard for me," Rosco gulped, knowing he wouldn't be able to leave for a couple of hours at least.

"That's the idea," Bo whispered, reaching down to cup his lover's semi-erect cock.

"Bo, I love what you do to me sweetheart, but we can't be doing that in here," he huskily whispered.

"I know," Bo replied with regret. "So...?"

"I'll meet ya at our place in a couple of hours, okay?"

"Okay," Bo answered, kissing him deeply. "I'll be there, don't be late," he whispered, and with one last kiss, he turned and went back up the stairs.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

True to his word, Rosco arrived two hours later, grinning when he saw the General parked in it's usual spot. Hurrying inside, he was grabbed by hands who's touch he knew well.

Shoving Rosco against the wall, Bo claimed his lover's lips in a soul deep kiss that he wished would never end. The need for air, however, forced him to pull away all too soon. "I," moving to nip and kiss at Rosco's neck, "love," pulling back long enough to move to the other side, "you," moaned as he claimed his lips again. Moaning with need and desire, Bo removed his lover's clothes, letting his hands and lips claim each bit of skin as it was revealed.

"Oh God," Rosco groaned out as Bo trailed kisses down his suddenly bare chest. He felt his young lover working at his belt buckle and then his pants were being pulled down, as kisses were showered on his legs. As Bo kissed his way back up his legs, Rosco moaned with anticipation, becoming frustrated when his lover ignored his weeping cock, kissing his way back up to claim his lips. It was only as Bo pulled him into his arms that Rosco realized his young lover was naked himself. "Bo, please I need you to touch me," he begged.

"If that's what you really want I will cowboy," Bo whispered.

"You don't want to?" Rosco asked, confused and disappointed.

"It's been so long Rosco, I...want you in me, want you to make love to me."

"I love you," he growled, taking his lover's hand and leading him up the stairs to the bedroom. Coming through the door, he pulled Bo into his arms and kissed him deeply, moaning with desire and need, "Bed?"

"Bed," Bo confirmed, laying down on the soft mattress and pulling Rosco down on top of him. "Love me cowboy."

"Always," he whispered, reaching for the lube and applying it to his fingers, kissing his lover passionately. Slowly kissing his way down to Bo's chest, he paused to give loving attention to his lover's nipples. Grinning around the nub in his mouth, the sounds of his lover as he writhed beneath him, sent a surge of desire straight to his groin. Moving further south, he began to lick and tease at his lover's cock, rubbing across his lover's opening with well lubed fingers. Slowly he pressed one finger inside, soon following with a second and then a third. Stretching his lover's passage as he pumped his fingers in and out, he soon found the spot he'd been searching for.

Bo couldn't believe how wonderful this felt, though he'd been with Rosco many times, it was like their first time all over again. Moaning and writhing at the sensations his lover was creating, he thought he'd come off the bed when Rosco wrapped his lips around the head of his cock. "Oh yes!" he cried out, the twin sensations of that warm mouth surrounding him and the fingers brushing across his prostate nearly pulling him apart. "Rosco, can't...wait," he panted as he felt the impending explosion getting closer.

"Cum for me sweetheart," Rosco whispered, brushing his fingers once more over Bo's prostate.

Screaming his lover's name, Bo shot his load down the older man's willing throat. Collapsing back against the bed, he lay catching his breath for a few minutes. "Want you in me Rosco, please."

"Whatever you want," Rosco whispered, lubing himself and slowly pushing into his lover's tight ass. Pausing to let Bo adjust, he could feel himself already building towards an oragasm and he knew he wouldn't last long. Thrusting in and out of his lover's body, he slowly increased his speed, the long missed sensations quickly building. Rosco felt the familiar tingling that warned of climax and with a cry of his lover's name, he filled the younger man with his seed. Carefully pulling from his lover, Rosco laid beside him, pulling him into his arms. "I love you Bo Duke, more than I could ever say," he whispered, leaning over to gently kiss his lover.

Returning the kiss, Bo smiled at the older man, happiness and love shining from his deep blue eyes. "I love you too Rosco Coltrane, and I thank God every day for leading us to each other." Snuggling into his lover's embrace, Bo lay beside the older man letting his lover's heartbeat soothe him to sleep.

Glancing at the man beside him, Rosco felt a love deeper than anything he'd ever known and sent up a silent prayer of thanks, before drifting to sleep, his lover's arms wrapped around him.

The End.

I hope y'all enjoyed that ending as much as I enjoyed writing it. *khee, khee* Please review and tell me what ya think.
