"And I can't fight this feeling anymore,
I've forgotten what I started fighting for..
Its time to bring this ship into the shore,
And throw away the oars forever....."
"All love is unrequited Stephen, all of it." Susan Ivanova, moved into Stephen Franklin's arms. He held and comforted her, as she wept. Bitterly she grieved for her dead friend. Kicking herself for never giving him a chance.
Ranger Marcus Cole. Dead at age 35. Susan had long alternated between deep feelings of annoyance at his outrageousness, and her deepening feelings of attraction and love for him.
"I could've tried one more time..." she had told Stephen, "I could've done that for him, now I can't."
The bitterness of regret rose like bile into her throat. She had finally managed to persuade Stephen to release her from Medlab. As her recovery was now totally complete, it was only his fear for her sanity that caused him to attempt to postpone her release.
Susan realized this and was grateful for his concern.
"I'm not suicidal Stephen. "Don't worry, I just need to rest and I can do that better in my own bed."
Stephen shrugged. He couldn't blame her for wanting solitude. He felt
that need as well. After all, Marcus had been a friend, and he was grieving himself., he thought. He'd never realized that Susan had known Marcus was in love with her. All that time he was discouraging Marcus from doing the one thing that might've made a difference for both his friends.

Susan tossed and turned violently as she slept. Her dreams were pure nightmares. She was being forced to relive everything from the past year. John's "death" at Z'Ha'Dum, and his subsequent resurrection. The ending of the Shadow War. Michael Garibaldi's transformation from friend to foe, a pawn for Psi Corps. Her leading ships into battle with Clark's forces in Sheridan's place only to be gravely wounded in battle. The softly accented sound of Marcus' voice saying "I love
you," before the life drained out of him and into Ivanova, healing her and ending his life. The horrific moment when she discovered Marcus' lifeless body. The memories and if onlys plagued her dreams until she awoke screaming just as her wake up call sounded. Good morning. The time is 0530 hours. Message from Ambassador Delenn. Message from Command and Control. Message from Marcus Cole.
Message from.....
"Computer freeze!" She screamed in horror.
