The New Girl
The New Girl
Juliette glanced at herself in the reflection of the elevator.
"Maybe the black pencil skirt and red cardigan was a bad choice." She mused in her head.
She ran her fingers through her dark red hair and adjusted her fake eyelashes.
"Ugh this is too much. Is it too much? No one is going to take me seriously." She worried in her head.
The elevator doors opened and she stepped out. The glass wall before her made her heart jump slightly. She could feel her pulse rising steadily. Taking a deep breath she pulled open the door to the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit. The room was buzzing with activity. She looked around for someone who could maybe tell her where Aaron Hotchner's office was. Suddenly, someone bumped into her from behind. She turned around to come face to face with Dr. Spencer Reid. He had an armful of books and coffee in his hand.
"Oh geeze I am so sorry!" he stammered pushing his glasses up on his nose.
Juliette smiled and adjusted the purse strap on her shoulder.
"That's okay. I am probably in the middle of everything. I am not even sure where I am supposed to go. Maybe you can help me?"
Spencer just stared at her with a silly smile on his face. Derek Morgan slid up next to the young doctor. He offered his hand to Juliette.
"Hi, I am Derek Morgan. This is Dr. Spencer Reid, he gets a little shy around beautiful women sometimes. What can we do for you?"
Juliette shook his hand and set down her purse on the desk next to her.
"Oh I am looking for Aaron Hotchner's office. Could you show me where it is?"
Derek picked her purse up off the desk and offered his arm to her.
"Sure I can. I would be happy too."
Juliette took his arm and walked with him towards the stairs. She glanced behind her at the thin young man with the glasses.
"It was nice to meet you Dr. Reid."
Spencer waved and smiled a half smile.
"You too." he managed to squeak. It was then he realized he didn't even get her name.
Derek escorted her up the stairs to the first door at the top.
"Here you go. Just knock. By the way, what's your name?" he said handing the purse back to her.
"Juliette. Most people call me Julie though. It was nice to meet you Derek." she said knocking on the door.
"Come in." she heard a voice call from within the office.
She smiled at Derek as he walked backwards down the stairs.
"It was nice to meet you too Julie."
She disappeared into the office, shutting the door behind her. Derek met Reid at the bottom of the stairs. He looked almost in a daze.
"Beautiful isn't she kid?" Derek said clapping his co worker on the back.
"Yeah she is. Although, she looks really familiar. I am surprised I can't recall from where."
Derek laughed and settled into his desk and started on his paperwork. Reid stood at the bottom of the stairs for a moment trying to figure out why she looked so familiar. He shrugged and walked back to his desk, opening the book on the top of his stack.
