Knight and Day

After getting out of the limousine, a Mr. Don Henrie adjusted his black blazer and loosened his tie.  He had been out with some friends at another club where he fed off the energy surrounding him.  It had been just what he needed and he was now glad to be home away from the noise.

It was nearing daylight and time to climb into his coffin for some respite from the long evening.  Running his long fingers through his tussled jet black locks, Don posted another question to his Facebook page via his mobile phone before ignoring the world to go rest.  It was amusing to see who would actually post to some of the offhand comments he threw at his fans.

The shiny black shoes clicked against the pavement as he walked to the doors where a gentleman opened the door for him to go inside.  It was always the same as the doorman stated his quick hello and then went back to his duties.

Taking a card out of his pocket, Don went straight to the elevator and pushed the button to go to the top floors.  He had looked forward to the change of scenery from Hollywood to this incredible view of Los Angeles.  Of course he would not miss the tourists as they pushed and shoved their way around to see the sites.

Once he got into the elevator, he put the key card into the slot to take him to his private haven.  His home was immaculate from the maid service and his own desire to have his home clean.  He could still smell the cleaners in the air as he took off his blazer and stretched his muscles.

The suit would be dry cleaned in the morning as he placed it in the bag that specified that his clothing needed to be cleaned, pressed, and ironed.  Taking off the black tie, Don was only clad in his blood red silk shirt and his black pants.

He left his shoes by the door always taking them off as he entered his home, a traditional thing that he had learned from his parents.  It also kept any impurities from the soles ruining his Egyptian rug or leaving trails upon the stone floors.

Don looked out the balcony doors to see the sun rising slowly across the sky as light glittered along the glass windows of the many buildings across the city.  It was nice, but nothing as spectacular as the sunsets or the night sky.  Don definitely was a man who enjoyed the moonlit sky.

A small smile slid across Don’s lips as he leaned against the bar in the kitchen as his phone lit up letting him know that several people had responded to his Facebook comments.  He would read them later and maybe if he felt compelled to do so he would respond or post another comment.

Don headed to the bathroom and removed the rest of his clothing after putting his cell on the charger.  Turning on the water of the shower, Don stepped inside letting the water cascade over his back as it trickled down over his shoulders saturating his hair turning it blacker then night itself.

The water felt like a gentle caress and it took away all the scents of the club.  The scent of cigarettes seemed to saturate his extremely sensitive nose and the soothing smell of the soap as he lathered himself seemed to take away all the offensive odors.

Don leaned his head back as he washed his thick head of hair with the shampoo he had recently bought and then used the conditioner.

After his shower, Don dried himself off then took the black silk robe with the dragons on it and put it on heading towards the bedroom.  The room was decorated in mainly red and black with dark hard wood accents and candle light.  There was a full length mirror and a deep oak wardrobe that graced the room.  The hard marble floor was covered in an intricately woven rug.  It was perfect for the vampire who also had a satin red colored bed with long drapes flowing from the canopy above.

Don climbed into his coffin and felt at peace as Enya played softly in the background with her haunting voice bringing the vampire Lord peace.

It didn’t take long for Don to start his meditation.  Closing his eyes he let the worldly cares disperse and allowed himself to be filled with the positive energy he fed upon this night.  Don stayed in the coffin eventually falling asleep.  It had been a long night and although he normally did not sleep this early in the morning he felt exhausted.

The only sound that was left after a time was the simple breathing of the beautiful man who in his sleep dreamed of faraway places and future travels.
