Just a Little Longer
“He’s my brother, and I love him, but you do not want to see what his reign looks like, Sammy.” Gabriel shook his head, “And I know you don’t want to hear it, but it’s going to get harder and harder to say no, because he’s persuasive, and he’s beautiful and eventually, after a while, you won’t want to say no anymore. But I’ve got what you need to stay strong, for now.”
“Why should I trust you?” Sam asked, jaw tight.
Gabriel smiled, it wasn’t the sly Trickster’s smile, not this time, it was almost gentle and almost sad, “Because right now? I’m the only friend you’ve got, especially while they’ve still got your brother hostage.”
Sam’s expression crumbled for a moment, looking away until he got ahold of himself again, voice still tight, “What is it?”
“Just a little trick I learned from your ex, who I probably shouldn’t bring up, ruins the moment.” While he was talking he’d appeared a penknife from somewhere, dragging it in a slow swipe across his palm, watching the blood well for a moment before holding it out to Sam.
“You have got to be kidding.” Was Sam’s terse response, though he couldn’t quite look away.
“I’m really not.” Gabriel said, smiling that almost sad smile again, “And if there was another way I’d tell you.”
Sam swallowed thickly, tongue scraping along the roof of his mouth, realizing that he felt parched. Before he could think about it he had ahold of the angel’s wrist, lapping like a kitten at the blood pooled in his palm. He didn’t even register Gabriel petting his hair, or the amused, “Easy, tiger, there’s plenty.” In fact, Sam barely registered anything over the sudden thrumming in his head, feeling like a heartbeat and sounding like the beat of wings.
He could feel the pull of Gabriel’s blood in a way he’d never been able to with Ruby. He could feel it warming his core and sending a surge of want, even need, to the pit of his stomach.
Gabriel ran his fingers through Sam’s hair again, willing himself to heal, after all, he needed the hunter strong, not sick, “That’s enough, Sam.” He said, though he recognized the half-wild look in the man’s eyes, knew what it meant. He shook his head, fingers cradling Sam’s chin, thumb sweeping along his lower lip to wipe away the smear of blood there.
He felt the man’s groan against his fingers, letting his thumb dip past Sam’s lips to allow him that final taste.
Sam met the angel’s eyes with something like defiance, though his eyes lowered again as Gabriel caressed his jaw, “Better?”
Sam nodded, swallowing thickly once more, “Yeah.” Gabriel smiled, this one closer to the usual, he could feel the need rolling off Sam, just like he could see Sam fighting it. Gabriel’s fingers tightened for a moment, not allowing Sam to pull away as he dipped his head to claim the man’s mouth, amused by how responsive Sam was even when he was fighting those instincts. He was also amused by the tang of his own blood on Sam’s tongue.
Curious to see what would happen, he let himself relax a little, rewarded by Sam pressing forward to deepen the kiss once more, teeth catching against Gabriel’s lower lip, sucking it greedily for a moment. Gabriel groaned softly as he felt that trapped skin warm as blood was pulled to the surface.
It would have been simple, a snap of the fingers, really, to have them both right where the angel wanted them, and while he was a fan of instant gratification, he wanted to take his time with this one, wanted to watch Sam battle against his own desires a while longer. It was the only way he’d learn his lesson.
Gabriel tried to pull away from the kiss, only to be stopped short by a low growl from Sam and the sting of the man’s teeth pressing more firmly against his lip. He chuckled then, low and rolling, fingers sliding from Sam’s jaw down the side of his throat, feeling the pulse fluttering against his fingers, sure that it was skipping a beat now and again.
Sam did release his hold then, having to so that he could catch his breath, eyes gone dark with need. Gabriel smiled, thumb sweeping along Sam’s jaw, “That’s it.” Whatever follow up he’d had to that first statement evaporated as Sam pressed forward, his usually nimble fingers fumbling at the buttons of Gabriel’s shirt, tangling in the fabric halfway through to drag the angel into another hungry kiss, still able to hear that thrumming in his head, trying to drown everything else out.
It wasn’t long before the hunter had bare skin under his hands, realizing dimly that Gabriel must have done it himself, since the dingy motel bed was creaking under his own bare back. He arched up into the kiss, one hand fisting reflexively in the angel’s hair.
Gabriel ran a hand down Sam’s side, relishing the heat and the desire seeping from his skin, it wasn’t perfect, but it would do. He returned the kiss with equal fervor, intent on kissing the hunter breathless before letting him up.
Even breathless, Sam wasn’t ready to let Gabriel go, releasing his mouth only to leave a trail of sucking, open-mouthed kisses along the line of the angel’s throat, gasping raggedly as he did so, shifting restlessly beneath him.
Gabriel was amused by Sam’s sudden desperation, dragging blunt nails over the man’s skin, murmuring another: “Easy, tiger.” Though his tone wasn’t a protest, if anything it was encouragement.
Sam just growled in response, sucking another mark onto the angel’s neck, teasing with a scrape of teeth as he did so, the sensation enough to draw a pleasured groan from somewhere deep in Gabriel’s chest. The sound only encouraged Sam further, twisting over to reverse their positions, pressing the angel back against the mattress, pinning those narrow shoulders with broad hands, studying his captive intently for a moment, his hips rolling against the angel’s almost of their own accord.
Which was exactly the reaction Gabriel had been trying to get, to take Sam down to instinct and reaction alone. He arched himself up against Sam in return, rewarded with one of those hands slipping down his side, pressing him back to the mattress once more, and kneading against his hip.
Even as far gone as he was, Sam had the presence of mind to ask, “Ready?” he ground forward at the angel’s nod of confirmation, groaning at the sheer heat of Gabriel around him, almost enough to match the flare of heat still glowing in his chest from the blood the angel had given him.
Gabriel groaned in turn, eyes slipping closed for a moment as he rolled himself against Sam’s hold again, chuckling when Sam held him down more firmly. It was a head rush for Sam, that Gabriel was letting him have that kind of control, and his head dipped to suck another mark to the angel’s throat, catching his arm and weaving their fingers, pinning Gabriel’s hand to the mattress above his head, a move that drew another groan from the angel.
Gabriel wasn’t surprised by Sam’s taking control, he was a little surprised with himself for allowing it. But only a little. He rolled himself up against the hunter once more, letting his head arch back in apparent supplication to the man.
They moved against each other for what seemed like a small eternity, fitting together as best they could, both of them secretly wishing it were someone else but neither one going to say so. Sam actually growled against Gabriel’s throat, it was a warning and a demand all at once, and the angel’s amused smile returned, fingers weaving more tightly with the hunter’s, his free hand dragging up Sam’s spine, pressing him that much closer, trying to draw it out just a little longer, feeling the shuddering of overworked muscles under his hand.
Sam’s growl melted into a rolling moan, still half-muffled against Gabriel’s throat, and that vibration was enough to cause Gabriel’s pleasure to spike, letting climax wash over him, still holding Sam close, feeling his climax hitting, and hard. The hunter continued to shudder against him for a few long moments, finally relaxing, though the afterglow didn’t last long. It never did.
“You still don’t know where he is, do you?” Sam finally asked, and Gabriel shook his head, “No. But I’m still looking, Castiel’s still looking, we’ll find him Sam, and we’ll repay whatever that bastard Zachariah’s done to him, with interest.”
Sam nodded, that was enough, it might be a lie, but he could believe it for a little longer.
He had to.
