Characters: Peter/Gabriel; Mentions of Matt/Mohinder

AN: Alright, so this is my first Petlar. Please be gentle with me... Kidding, be as harsh as you wish. I can take criticism. It is UNBETA’D. Please beware.
I don’t mind where you come from, As long as you come to me;
But I don’t like illusions I can’t seem, Them clearly.....
Peter stood on the sidewalk, invisible to all who passed by. He watched as Sylar crossed the street into the local coffee shop. Time seemed almost tangible, as Peter waited. It had been a while since he had left Sylar at the Carnival, and even longer since their little trip into Sylar’s mind. Was it months now? Years? Time just seemed to float by now a days.
Peter felt that he couldn’t even figure out how to tie his own shoes anymore. There wasn’t a purpose... And here was this man that he had despised and hated, but now...? Gabriel’s life was on track now, it seemed. He was holding down a steady job with Mohinder, and living a somewhat stable life. But would he ever truly change?
Or was it something Peter wanted? Closure perhaps. Spending what seemed like 6 or so years trapped in Gabriel’s head... Well that brought them closer together then any normal bond could....
~
Sylar made his way out of the coffee shop, a warm coffee in one hand, and a chocolaty treat in the other. Something glistened in the corner of his eye, and he turned to see. He knew the tell tale signs of invisibility when he saw it, it was just a matter now of finding out who was following him.
Sylar, no... Gabriel wasn’t sure why anyone wanted to follow him anymore. It wasn’t like he had done anything wrong in a while. In fact, he had taken up a job at a local University. Gabriel smiled lightly, thinking about how ironic it was that he was a Professor’s aid to Mohinder, while taking classes to become a professor on his own.
As his walk continued, he reflected upon his time with Peter... He hadn’t thought about the other in a long while. Well that wasn’t totally true. Gabriel dreamt about the smaller male almost every night, and those dreams were often so vivid, he would wake up to quite the sticky mess in his sheets...
Gabriel shook the thoughts from his head, and continued his journey towards the university. Mohinder had class starting in about 15 minutes, which means that his own lecture began in 2 hours. Not bad, he mused... Gives time to go over my notes I suppose....
I don’t care, no I wouldn't dare, To fix the twist in you;
You've shown me eventually what you'll do;
Peter wasn’t sure when he reached the university, if this would still be a good idea. He was encroaching on the poor ex-villain’s space. But Peter had to know... Was there still something left between them? Could they ever go back to how things were just before they left Sylar’s mind?
All these questions blew Peter’s mind as he tried to follow Gabriel. There wasn’t anything about Gabriel that Peter wanted to change in the first place. Why should there be? The man was basically perfect. He was kind and innocent, and yes he did kill several people back in the day... But isn’t that what made him intriguing? Aren’t there skeletons in everyone’s closet?
No Peter would never change Gabriel’s past, not even to bring his brother back. Nathan had made his own choices, and even had he wanted to repent at the end... There was no going back. There was no changing the backstabbing choices you made against your family.
I don’t mind, I don’t care, As long as you're here;
Gabriel opened the door to his small, but beautiful office. There were pictures and maps everywhere, but never any of him. Why keep mementoes? Gabriel would rather forget everything, all the things he did in the past that hurt people... Hurt Peter....
As he entered, he could almost sense another’s presence behind him... Following him. He growled low in his throat, and used his telekinesis to slam the door shut.
“I know your here.... Show yourself...” He all but snarled.
Within moments Peter sheepishly powered down, letting his form be visible to his ex arch enemy. By pure instinct, Gabriel saw something power down out of the corner of his eye, and so used his invisible grip to forestall an chance or thought of escape by the other.
But he hadn’t counted upon seeing Peter again. He hadn’t thought that the man, who plagued his dreams almost every night, was following him and was now dying beneath his hand. He instantly released his grip and ran over, enveloping the other in a tight hug.
“Peter! What... are you doing here? Why were you following me?”
Gabriel looked down at the other, whose cheeks were aflame.
“I... I... had to see you. I needed to see you. It’s just... I... “
Peter trailed off, his face trying to hide his shame. Gabriel just smiled and held the other close to him.
“It’s alright Peter... Your here now.”
Go ahead and tell me you'll leave again, You'll just come back running;
Holding your scarred heart in hand, It's all the same;
They spent the afternoon talking over coffee, getting to know what the other was up to since they left the carnival that night. Peter said that he was still working at the hospital, but wasn’t really sleeping well lately. Like there was something else he was suppose to be doing.
He exclaimed his pride when Gabriel spoke about getting into the university and working alongside Mohinder. Deep down he was so happy that Gabriel was making a life for himself, yet he was also a bit sad that the life did not involve him.
Peter sighed as he realised that everything had changed. Gabriel seemed to be avoiding the thought of anything between them other than a distant friendship. He narrowed his eyes, gathered his things and prepared to leave, until he realised that all his limbs were frozen from an invisible force. He grunted and growled, trying to rid himself of the bind, but let his muscles fall slack when he realised that his attempts to be free, were in fact useless.
~
Gabriel’s inner voice shouted at him to let go. That Peter didn’t deserve this pain. He didn’t deserve what the others did. The remnants of Sylar however squeezed his hand, however, chocking off whatever sounds Peter was trying to make.
Part of him was turned on by this, the Sylar part... The part that wanted to see Peter’s blood all over the ground. His finger began to rise, as he flipped Peter around to face himself. For his part, Peter looked rather complacent, as if he had been expecting this to happen. Like he had been expecting Sylar to remerge and kill again.
It was that look in Peter’s eyes that made Gabriel push through and shut out all of his currently flowing abilities. Peter dropped to the ground, coughing and rubbing at his throat. At the same time however, Gabriel felt his body give way, and he soon found himself a lot closer to the ground then before.
He felt his body shaking, as broken sobs escaped from him. Gabriel had never felt so out of control before. And he knew that if he didn’t get some kind of help soon, Sylar would start all over. But who would actually take him seriously? Who would listen to his past and not throw him in jail?
And I'll take you for who you are, if you take me for everything;
And do it all over again, it’s all the same;
He wasn’t sure what happened to Peter until warm arms wrapped around his weeping frame. He froze, hating to think what a big wimp he looked like. And yet Peter’s soft voice whispered to him that everything would be alright. A finger snuck beneath his chin, forcing his gaze up. Gabriel knew that his own eyes were somewhat red and puffy, but it was something that he couldn’t help very much.
There was a soft look in Peter’s eyes however, that seemed to tear everything that Sylar was from himself. It was almost a loving gaze, if it wasn’t for the fact that it was Peter giving him that look.
The look told him that he was cared about, and that maybe even together that they could make it through this. Gabriel smiled softly, even though he felt as if he was breaking apart. Peter had a way of making him feel as if he were in a million places at once, with that look. It would be one that he would cherish in his heart forever.
~
Peter could hear the sobs from across the room, and wondered why on Earth it made him want to comfort Gabriel. The man had just tried to kill him, but there was still something inside of him, the empath inside of him, just wanted to hold Gabriel in his arms and wipe away the tears.
The unconditional love that had kept him so close to Nathan was proving itself again with his brother’s killer. Truth be told, Peter had already forgiven the sobbing man for that. He’d moved on when they broke down the wall. But there was still some sort of resentment inside of him, something that wanted him to stay angry at the other.
In three large strides, Peter had crossed the distance between them and gathered the other in his arms, whispering desperately words that would soothe him. Without realising, Peter pulled Gabriel’s face to his (Because that is who he truly is), and looked down at him with all the adoration and caring he could muster. Every feeling of resentment was vanquished when Peter saw how broken Gabriel truly was.
He was Peter’s to fix now. And together, they could help each other become better than they were....
Hours slide and days go by, till you decide to come;
but in-between it always seems too long, All of a sudden;
{(FLASHBACK)}
Gabriel sat at his desk as per usual, tinkering with the plethora of watches in a basket at his side. He never thought too much on why, after being all alone here in this desolate world, that there were still watches to be mended. He simply gathered them up, and went straight to work.
In his mind, Gabriel believed that it was his own punishment of sorts. A purgatory made just for him, to repent his ways. Well something like that. He wasn’t overly religious, so the facts were always a little squewed, but the idea was still there, and he felt satisfied knowing that he would never hurt or kill another soul for the rest of his life.
Until the day Peter showed up. At first there was shock, that Peter was alive after all. Then relief, that he was not alone anymore. Resentment, for the fact that Peter was convinced they were trapped in Gabriel’s mind and could get out if only he tried a little harder to believe.
Then finally came depression, every time Peter would leave for hours on end. There weren’t many places the man could go, considering there was a giant brick wall surrounding them. But even so, Gabriel knew to give the other his space.
He knew that he had hurt Peter in the worst way; taking away the one person he loved the most. If the roles had been reversed, Gabriel had no idea if he would even consider forgiving the other.
But even so, at the end of the day, Peter would always come home. After a few years of this routine, Peter would even start to come home with gifts. Random books he would find that he thought Gabe would like.
~
In Peter’s mind this was always just to stave off the boredom. He never really thought about it at the time, but when he thought back on it, every time he brought a little something from his walks... There was always a hint of a smile on Gabriel’s face. There was always some way that he showed his happiness at the gesture, without showing it at the same time.
Peter wandered around for a few hours, as was his norm after pounding away at the wall. He paced around until he realised that there wasn’t any real reason for this anymore.
At first he would leave to get away from Gabriel, to get away from the memories of Nathan. But now... It seems so unimportant. Having Gabriel around him, when there was absolutely no one else around, was better than having no one at all.
Within moments, Peter changed his course and aimed for the apartment that he knew Gabriel was residing in. All day long the other man would fix any watch he touched. Peter supposed that it was one way to drive away the insanity.
As of late, there had been feelings building inside of him, inside of Gabriel as well. He surmised that being alone for so long without anyone’s touch could be a big factor in some of the late night inspired bed moments. But even so, it couldn’t explain how there were times, when Gabriel had a concentrated look on his face, or was sad, and all Peter wanted to do was go over to him and hold him tightly.
Now, walking up behind Gabriel, book in hand, Peter watched as the ex-killer spent a few more minutes tinckering at the watch in front of him. Peter smiled and put the book down on the edge of the bed beside him, then took a few more steps, wrapping his arms around the other. His face burrowed into the warm neck that had just stiffened.
Peter smiled and whispered. “It’s alright Gabe... It’s just me... I’m home now.”
{(END FLASHBACK)}
But I have the skill, yeah, I have the will, to breath you in while I can;
However long you stay is all that I am;
Gabriel gave his apologies to Mohinder, explaining that Peter was back in town. Normally so stupid of an excuse would never let him off work, but Mohinder was the only person who knew him almost as much as Peter. And thus he also knew how important to each other these two would be, in the future. In fact his own lover, Matt had painted this among other futures for everyone they knew.
None the less, Gabriel still felt bad about abandoning his post, that it took Peter and Mohinder at least an hour to convince him that he needed some rest. After Sylar’s brief appearance today, it would be perhaps a bit unsafe to unleash him to a class full of specials.
Gabriel had finally conceded, knowing that he didn’t want to hurt another person for the rest of his sorry life. Peter escorted him home, whispering comforting words as they rode in a taxi. The driver of course gave them funny looks, but the two men hardly noticed. They were too absorbed in each other to notice. Peters hands were all over Gabriel’s hair, touching softly, threading the soft tresses through his fingers.
Gabriel’s hands managed to find Peter’s waist and stomach. He latched himself tightly around the other until they had to exit the cab. And even then, Gabriel half carried Peter to his apartment. After a few moments of frustratingly searching for the key, both boys entered the apartment and closed the door behind them. Within minutes of putting the key down, Gabriel turned to wrap the smaller man in his arms. Peter lept up and wrap his legs around Gabriel’s longer frame. His hands reaching up once again and tangling themselves in the other’s soft locks.
Gabriel for his part slid his hands beneath Peter’s buttocks, supporting his light frame. He couldn’t help the groan that escaped his throat, when Peter’s hardness rubbed against his own through the fabric. His hips bucked forwards, trying to continue the sensation running through him. Peter must have been of the same mind, because he cupped the back of Gabriel’s neck, bringing them forehead to forehead, and thrusting his hips forwards in return. He made soft mewling sounds of pleasure, and pressed his lips all over any skin he could find.
It was almost more than Gabriel could take. He took them to the bed, and dropped Peter on to the soft mattress. As Peter began ripping his clothes off, Gabriel reached over to the side drawer and pulled out a little bottle of water based lubricant. Peter reached for him, buck naked now, and began stripping the other of his clothing.
Within seconds they were both naked and kissing each other all over. Not too fast, but carefully. As if they were both unsure of what the other might think. Peter’s lips trembled as he placed gentle kisses along Gabe’s neck and cheek. He had never done this with a man before, and though the thought itself seemed a little awkward, doing this with Gabriel felt like being in a hazy dream.
Gabriel pushed his friend back onto the mattress and lowered himself so that he was at a good angle to prepare Peter. A soft blush creped onto the soft cheeks of Peter’s face, adding a little more to his feminine image... One that Gabriel seemed to rather enjoy. Peter groaned and closed his eyes, trying not to think of what was about to happen to his lower body. He had experimented once with his finger. It was kind of weird, in a non pleasant kind of way. But Gabriel looked like he knew what he was doing.
Two fingers slicked with lube gently teased at Peter’s hole. It was soft and tender, and extremely warm. Gabriel felt himself twitch at the thought of entering that puckering tightness. His lips twitched into a half formed smile as he slowly manoeuvred his fingers inside the tight nub.
Peter squirmed at the intrusion, not really sure when this was supposed to start feeling good, when something happened that made him see stars. His back arched, and a rather loud gasp escaped him. Gabriel chuckled from his spot down below, which only served to send shivers down his spine.
“Found it.”
“Wha-.... What was that...?” It took a few moments, but Peter finally calmed enough to form some kind of thought.
“That, my dear little Petrelli, was your sweet spot.” He smirked a little, trying not to scare the other too much. His fingers continued their gentle massage of Peter’s prostate, stretching here and there, making sure that his own heated sex would be able to fit without pain to the small male beneath him.
Upon hearing Peter’s moans grow louder, Gabriel removed his fingers and smeared a palm full of lube all over himself. Peter looked a little anxious beneath him, which only served to make Gabriel smirk and bring his warm body down to press against Peter’s softer more delicate one. Peter was surprised to find that he kinda enjoyed the sensation of Gabriel’s scratchy furs against his smooth chest. He took a moment to let himself be distracted by the feel, but regretted it a moment later when something large intruded into his body. It wasn’t painful, Gabe had done well in his job. But it was a completely new sensation. He felt somewhat full...
When Gabriel was finally sheathed inside the smaller male, he pressed his lips to the other’s forehead and smiled.
“Relax Peter... I’m not going to move till you tell me...”
Peter’s breath was coming out in soft pants, as he adjusted himself to Gabriel’s size. He blinked and looked up into his friend’s eyes. It surprised him to know how well they fit together. How perfectly formed his body was to the larger one above him.
Peter simply nodded as a sign to move, closed his eyes and enjoyed the ride. Each thrust was like a lightning rod to his core. He could feel the heat thrumming from Gabriel’s cock, and he could even feel each little shiver that the other made from pleasure.
Gabriel himself was having a hard time keeping it together. He had never met someone who undid him as much as Peter did. He was moving at a more frantic pace now, trying to stop himself from cumming, but even as he tried, Peter would not let him. The boy beneath him was ready, and climaxing hard. His inner muscles were clenching, the twitching cock between them was spitting semen all over their chests, and the noises that were coming out of him... Well, that sent Gabe completely over the edge, thrusting in deep a few more times then stiffening as he climaxed as well, filling Peter with his sticky spunk.
I don’t mind, I don’t care;
As long as you're here;
Hours later, they were still entangled in each other. Breathing in each other’s beings as if this were their last day together. But they both knew it wouldn’t be. That they would have eternity by each other’s side.
Gabriel smiled at the one who would always be there to save him, and Peter kissed the brow of the man who would always keep him grounded. They would always need each other, and now they understood why.
There wasn’t any exchange of words, any passing phrases, because they didn’t need to. There wasn’t any point to saying “I love you”, because they both knew it anyways. They didn’t need to say I want to be with you forever, because there was no question of leaving in the first place.
They would always be there for each other, in words, or in gestures.
The rest of the song is as follows:
Go ahead and tell me you'll leave again, You'll just come back running;
Holding your scarred heart in hand, It's all the same;
And I'll take you for who you are, if you take me for everything;
And do it all over again, it’s always the same;
Wrong or Right, Black or White;
If I close my eyes, It’s all the same;
In my life, the compromise;
I'll close my eyes, it’s all the same;
Go ahead say it, you’re leaving, you’ll just come back running;
Holding your scarred heart in hand, it’s all the same;
And I'll take you for who you are now, If you take me for everything;
Do it all over again, It’s all the same.

Peter smiled and put the book down on the edge of the bed beside him, then took a few more steps, wrapping his arms around the other. His face burrowed into the warm neck that had just stiffened.
Peter smiled and whispered. “It’s alright Gabe... It’s just me... I’m home now.”
{(END FLASHBACK)}
But I have the skill, yeah, I have the will, to breath you in while I can;
However long you stay is all that I am;
I don’t mind, I don’t care;
As long as you're here;
Hours later, they were still entangled in each other.
Go ahead and tell me you'll leave again, You'll just come back running;
Holding your scarred heart in hand, It's all the same;
And I'll take you for who you are, if you take me for everything;
And do it all over again, it’s always the same;
Wrong or Right, Black or White;
If I close my eyes, It’s all the same;
In my life, the compromise;
I'll close my eyes, it’s all the same;
Go ahead say it, you’re leaving, you’ll just come back running;
Holding your scarred heart in hand, it’s all the same;
And I'll take you for who you are now, If you take me for everything;
Do it all over again, It’s all the same.
AN: Alrighty then. That is the end to my first Petlar. Hopefully not the last. Tell me what you think?
