No One
No One
Rodney sighed.
No one understood how he felt and even when he tried to explain it, no one understood. He wasn't just the one who was anti-social, arrogant, petty, and bad with people; bad things always happened to him – even when he was little.
His parents fought.
He was neglected.
He tried to make his parents proud with how smart he was and how good he was doing in school. They didn't care.
Nothing he did was ever good enough.
He was always the odd one out.
He skipped to High School when he was just twelve years old.
He never had any real friends to talk to.
No one ever liked him.
He and Jeanie never really got along, even before that English Professor came along.
Things were even the same in college. MIT was just like High School.
Working for the SGC was worse, though. Col. Samantha Carter had everyone on her side. They all treated him like garbage.
Then, in Siberia, it was only marginally better because they needed him. Well, not him, but his smarts.
He thought it might've changed when he went to Atlantis, but it didn't. No one showed concern for him when he wasn't able to take off his personal shield.
When he blew up a solar system (not the whole thing, just five sixths!), no one talked to him afterwards. They all took Col. Sheppard's side.
When Rod came from that alternate reality, his 'friends' took to him instantly, leaving him behind.
When Jeanie talked about his embarrassing childhood, they all joined in, laughing.
Rodney sighed again and stood up from his work bench, slowly walking out into the hall and towards the transporter. He touched his destination and walked into the new hallway when they doors opened.
He traveled the short ways to his rooms and toed off his shoes when the doors closed behind him. He layed down on his bed, folding his arms behind his head. He closed his eyes.
Guess he'd never know about the true contact with other humans like he would with machines. But it was ok. That was how it's been since he was little.
