why doctors and drugs dont mix
hey this is just a short one shot that wouldn't leave me alone!
The team had gone home hours ago and Jack was keeping himself busy with some long overdue paperwork, when he heard a familliar sound. Grabbing his coat he raced for the invisible lift, making it up to the plass in record time in order to find the only thing in the universe that could make that noise- the TARDIS.
He wasn't disappointed, just a few yards away from where the lift came up, it slowly materialized. The amazing, slightly kitch blue box that housed the most enigmatic and intelligent man that Jack had ever met.
Grinning happily, he bounded over to the TARDIS but as he reached to open the door, it swung open from the inside and the Doctor stepped out, a beaming smile on his face.
"Jack! It's good to see you, how are you?"
Before he could answer though, he was pulled into a bone crushing hug, the doctors face buried against his neck. Jack returned the embrace but suddenly he flinched.
"Did you just lick me?" He pulled back, looking at the Doctor with suprised confusion.
"Why would I lick you? Do you taste good?"
"Uh, I don't know, no one's ever told me." He wasn't sure if he should be amused or concerned that the Doctor was acting stranger than usual but whatever the reason, he was certainly unprepared for for what happened next.
"Well, lets find out then." The Doctor leant forward again and Jack felt the wet swipe of a tongue travel up the side of his neck. "Hmm you do taste good, very lickable."
"Are you drunk?" Jack asked incredulously, taking a step back from his friend although certain body parts were begging him to get closer.
"Of course not, I only had one drink. I was at a party on sxyclopian 4 you see, lovely little planet but overrun with snobbish alien leader types. It was the kings 4000th birthday and I was invited because I'd just saved his wife from a pack of flesh eating slugs. They're always extra painful because they have no teeth so they have to suck it off."
Several retorts went through Jacks mind, each more x-rated than the last but even he could work out that now was not the time.
"And you only had one drink?"
"Yes. The prince of Cilitrain brought me one, not sure what it was but it tasted a bit funny. He started getting a bit handsy after a while though so I decided I'd come and see you instead."
He'd stepped closer to Jack while he was talking, holding on to him as he swayed slightly. He suddenly gave a triumphant grin which was quickly followed by a frown.
"What's wrong?" Jack asked, concerned.
"You wear too many clothes."
"Huh?" Looking down at himself Jack realised that the Doctor had managed to undo his blue shirt only to find a white t-shirt underneath. "How did you do that without me even noticing?" He asked, half shocked and half impressed.
"I'm a time lord, I don't get myself out of situations by stumbling around and making it obvious what I'm doing."
"No, that's how you get yourself into the situations in the first place." He jumped slightly as a cool hand slid under his t-shirt and caressed his flat stomach.
"Woah, what are you doing?" He pushed the Doctor's hands away gently. "It look like this prince of yours spiked your drink with an aphrodisiac, hoping he'd get lucky. You need to get back inside the TARDIS and sleep it off, you'll feel better then."
"Well, that was very rude of him, no wonder no one wanted to drink with him." The Doctor grumbled as he allowed Jack to guide him back inside the TARDIS. "I've half a mind to go back there and tell him exactly how upset I am."
"You do that, but wait until the drug is out of your system. The last thing you need right now is to be near people."
"Stop here." The Doctor exclaimed as they reached the door that used to be Jack's room.
"Why are we stopping here? Your room is further down."
"Yes well, I had a slight accident with an exploding alien egg that I was trying to hatch. There's goo everywhere and the worst thing is that it smells like old boiled cabbage so I've been sleeping in here, hope you don't mind."
"It's fine, it's not like I'm using it at the moment." Jack replied, opening the door and pushing the Doctor in gently. He made himself useful, pulling back the duvet and helping the Doctor out of his coat when he got it tangled around himself, anything to get rid of the mental image of the doctor in his bed.
Eventually he decided there was nothing left for him to do and he turned to leave the Doctor to sleep, but just before he reached the door he felt two hands squeeze hold of his ass and he spun round in shock.
"Doctor! Don't do that, you're supposed to be getting into bed."
"I know but I thought you were going to be coming with me." The Doctor kept advancing on him and very soon Jack found himself backed against the door with a very aroused, very drugged Time Lord pressed against him.
"Ok, you need to stop this. I've got to go back to the hub but I'll come back and see you tomorrow when this has worn off and you're back to normal."
The Doctor just ignored him and started to nibble lightly on his neck while one of his hands started to wander back up his t-shirt. Jack tried to protest but all that came out of his mouth was a strangled moan that just made the Doctor even more enthusiastic about what he was doing. It wasn't until the doctors hand tried to slide down the front of his trousers that he snapped back to reality. Grabbing hold of the Doctors shoulders, he pushed him away, trying to make as much distance between them as possible.
"You wanted me before, you always have, I did notice you know so why not now?" Moving quickly, the Doctor pulled Jack towards him slamming their lips together and wrapping an arm tightly round his waist so he couldn't move away. His other hand tangled into the back of Jack's hair gripping it to the point of pain and Jack couldn't repress a slight shiver of fear.
This man, this alien being had so much intelligence, so much hidden pain and darkness and so much power. Jack knew all this but he was used to the Doctor being in complete control of it, this was different and he wasn't sure how dangerous he could be when he was out of control like this. The part that disturbed him the most though was that even though he was slightly afraid of what the Doctor could do to him like this, part of him still wanted to let go and let it happen just so he could have the man he loved just for a little bit.
He couldn't though and he knew it. It would be too much for both him and the Doctor to recover from, so he relaxed into the violent kiss long enough for the Doctor to loosen his grip, and then he pushed him away as hard as he could. He moved quickly to the door but turned back as he opened it to make sure his friend was ok. The Doctor didn't seem to be hurt but looked up at him confused from where he'd landed on the floor.
"You want to know why? How could I sleep with you knowing that you'd regret it so much the next day. You already have problems just being near me. Of all the times I let myself dream of you wanting me, this was never one of them. I want you to want me because it's me not because I'm the most convienient thing for you to sleep with." He laughed bitterly. "But that's never going to happen is it, why would you lower yourself to being with someone so wrong."
Even in his current state the Doctor could sense Jack's pain and kept quiet, knowing that there was nothing he could say to make things better.
"I'm locking you in here so you don't go wandering around trying to have sex with the entire population of Cardiff. I'll let you out tomorrow morning, don't worry." Not able to look at the Doctor anymore, he shut the door and locked it, turning away from the room that held everything he wanted and everything he feared.
As he let himself back into the hub and lowered himself down the ladder into his quarters, he finally allowed himself to indulge his broken heart and he lay in his bunk, tears flowing down his face until the sun started to rise.

Jack headed back to the TARDIS the next day before any of his team turned up to work. The last thing he wanted was to have to answer all the questions they would inevitably have. Opening the Tardis door, he stared wide eyed in shock at the sight of the Doctor tinkering happily with one of the screens on the console.
"How did you get out of the bedroom, I locked you in."
"Good morning to you too." The Doctor seemed quite subdued but Jack figured it must be the coming down from the drug that was causing it. "The Tardis let me out, she doesn't like seeing me locked up, don't worry, I stayed in here and Cardiff remains safe."
"Oh. Why are you still here then?" The Doctor looked at him sharply and Jack reconsidered his words. "I meant, you don't usually stick around once you've done what you came to do."
"I was hardly going to leave without talking to you after last night was I. I'm sorry Jack, I'm so sorry." The Doctor looked so haunted and forlorn that Jack found himself unable to stay angry at him, something that happened a lot round the Time Lord, no matter how many times or how much he hurt him.
"It's ok."
"You always forgive me. You always trust in me even when you probably shouldn't."
There was a long pause and the Doctor's eyes widened in comprehension. "You love me." It was a statement rather than a question and so Jack didn't respond. "It's not just a crush or someone else to flirt with, you actually love me."
He didn't say anything else, just stared as if it was too much for him to comprehend and Jack knew that he wouldn't be able to handle the oncoming rejection so he tried to make his exit. He had one foot out the door when the Doctor called out for him and as usual, when the Doctor called, he came running.
"Jack, wait. There's something I need to tell you, it's an explanation of sorts for what happened last night. Just let me explain and then if you want to leave, I won't stop you."
Nodding, Jack sat down in a chair and rested his feet up on the side of the console, trying to give the impression that he was relaxed when in reality he was so tense he thought he might shatter if someone touched him.
"After you left last night, I did some tests on my blood to see if I could find out what kind of drug was in my system and how long it would last. You were right in a way, it was an aphrodisiac but not the usual human kind. The aliens of sxyclopian 4 are brilliant, fantastically intelligent and they create their own drugs and medicines, cures for all sorts of things and this was a basic way of finding your soul mate. The drug works a little bit like the TARDIS by getting inside your mind so deeply that it finds out things about you that even you didn't know."
He chanced a look at Jack and found that the Captain was hanging on his every word, obviously wondering where the Doctor was going with the conversation.
"I told you that after I'd had the drink I came to find you. It's because the drug was making me want to see you. The aphrodisiac side of the drug only works when you're with the one person you really want, whether you know it or not."
Jack was staring at him now, completely gobsmacked and for, possibly the first time in his life, speechless.
"Are you ok? You look a bit pale, would you like a cup of tea?"
"What...are you...does that mean..."
"It means that although I didn't know it, maybe because I was too caught up with losing Rose, I love you back."
"But..but you said I was wrong, that I shouldn't be. You and the TARDIS went as far as you possibly could just to get away from me and now you love me?" Jack was pacing up and down, trying to wrap his mind round everything.
"I know and I shouldn't have said that about you. You're not wrong Jack, if I have to be completely honest, I can't really be upset that she brought you back. I know that sometimes it's hard for you to deal with but I'm glad you're still here."
"You're not going to suddenly decide I'm wrong again and leave me on some planet somewhere are you?"
"Of course not, I wouldn't go through all this just to...wait a minute, does that mean you're coming with me?"
The smile on Jack's face was answer enough and the Doctor grinned back as he was swept into a hug. Placing his hands on Jack's face, he let his thumbs stroke along the strong cheekbones of his handsome face.
"Welcome home Jack."
And as he kissed his Captain, he made a mental note to send the prince of Cilitrain a thank you present.
