Summary: Demons aren't the only beings that remind mortal men why they once feared the dark. This story will contain boy love, strong language, and violence. This is a rewrite of I Got Spirit.

Prologue

Leon Hollow was a blue eyed, black haired young man of 22. He was a college student at Salem University and he loved being in school. This meant that he only had to see his “family” once a month, and sometimes not even that, depending on how much homework he had, and he always made sure that he had enough homework in order to get out of going home. Those people just didn’t understand him and he feared they never would.

He had never felt so free in all his life when he had started school. He just sat in his private dorm room, looking at the decorated walls, wondering what the heck he was going to do with himself. That was when he got the idea to do something he had never had the guts to do before. He was going to put his “past” behind him and make “normal” friends. Now, he was always surrounded by people doing all kinds of fun activities when he didn’t have a ton of homework to do. His studies always came before anything else, because he wanted to prove to his “family” that he could survive in the outside world without them.

He did use his magic ever so often in order to get himself out of situations he didn’t feel comfortable with. The magic had always been in his blood. It had been passed onto him from his mother and to her from her mother. His “family” was very old, and magic has always been with them.

He was walking back to his dorm from his kinship class when his friend Allison and Greg came running up to him, laughing and smacking at each other playfully. “Hey, Leon!” Allison smiled.

“Hi,” he said, fumbling with his books, catching his balance once more. He really needed to buy a bigger backpack. The one he had just wasn’t big enough for his workload. “What’re you up to?”

“There is going to be a wicked party tonight,” Greg said, ducking the slap Allison had aimed for his head. “It’s going to be over in Darken Woods.”

“Darken Woods?” Leon asked, watching Greg pick Allison up, throwing her over his broad shoulders. The name alone sounded really spooky. He knew that was where most of the campus parties were held on the weekends. There were so many stories and urban legends about the place. People were always going on about how a devil haunted the place and evil tree creatures ate unsuspecting explorers. It was un-telling how many times he had rolled his eyes, listening to their crazy stories. Trees only ate people when they were really hungry, and he didn’t know anything about devils. But, it was a good place to have parties. Not even the local police would venture into that place at night.

“I hear the party is going to be held in The Hollow,” Allison squealed with excitement, screaming when Greg smacked her ass. She smacked his back, kicking her legs, trying to get free. She gave up and just looked at the blue-eyed boy. “It is the deepest and the freakiest part of the whole woods. People always report seeing strange lights and hearing weird pipe music.” She cocked her head to the side, smiling at him. “You really should come. You hardly ever get out anymore.”

“Yeah,” Greg whined, spinning his girlfriend around. “This party will help you forget all about that stupid jerk-face.”

Leon felt a slight pang in his still bruised heart, and smiled a little sadly at his friends. “I don’t know,” he said, actually considering it. “I have a lot of homework, guys.”

“Hey!” A loud voice shouted. He looked to see that it was his friend Bobby and Lee. They were running towards them. Lee grabbed him by the arm. “Have you heard about the party tonight?”

“We know,” Greg said, putting a dizzy Allison back on her feet, laughing as she stumbled around like a drunk. “We’re trying to talk Leon into going with us.”

“Come on, Leon,” Lee pouted, taking his other arm while Allison righted herself. “You’ve not come out with us in forever. How could you choose books over us?”

“Screw the homework!” Allison shouted. “It’s the weekend, damn it!”

“Yeah!” Bobby agreed. “You’ll have plenty of time to do all that crap later.”

Leon really didn’t want to put off doing his homework. It was all so very important to him. He would not allow himself to fail, just so his “family” could rub it in his face. Plus, he had a terrible feeling that he might run into “jerk-face” at the party with some little blond tramp at his side.

“You do know that he wants you to be miserable, right?” Allison said. It was like she knew this was going to work on him. Oh, it made him mad when she would resort to this trick. “He wants you to sulk in your room and not see anybody. You really should show him that you can have anybody if you really wanted them.”

“Yeah!” Lee agreed, holding up his hand. “You can even have me.”

“HEY!” Bobby yelled, elbowing him. “What was that?”

“Oh, nothing,” Lee laughed.

Leon’s eyes clouded. That asshole had really hurt him. Poor Allison looked like she had run right smack into a brick wall. She looked like she was about to apologize at any moment. It was just that she seemed to have forgotten where her voice had skipped off to.

“You’re right!” He shouted, throwing his books down on the pavement. They made a loud boom. “I deserve to have fun! Fuck him!”

“Fuck him!” Greg shouted.

“Yeah!” Bobby and Lee shouted. “Fuck the jerk-face!”

“Yeah,” Leon smiled. “Fuck him…”

Leon looked his gorgeous face over in the oval shaped mirror in the bathroom. He wanted to make himself look as attractive as possible to show Daniel what he had lost. He used his glamour to make himself look even more perfect that what he already was. His skin took on the flawless glow of a rare pearl. His eyes became bluer than pure topaz, while his hair darkened to an almost midnight violet. He was going to show-up whatever little whore that cheating dick would be screwing tonight.

His best friend Diana had helped him pick out an outfit to wear, and when he stepped out of the bathroom, the girl clapped her manicured hands. “Wow,” she said, smiling at him. “You look…perfect. Are you even human?”

He grinned at her with straight white teeth and the sleek leather pants hugged his dreamy legs like a second skin. In the light, they flowed down his long legs like silky dark water. He loved the shirt he had on, too. It was a midnight blue and it made his eyes look even more intense.

She walked up to him with a wicked gleam in her eye, and he saw the eyeliner in her hand. He couldn’t help by mirror her smile. The girl wouldn’t let him go out anywhere unless he had eyeliner on. “You know me all to well.”

“I really do,” she said, applying it to him flawlessly. “Don’t I?”

The path they followed was dark, making member in the party grumble. Leon could see just fine, but he decided to play along. “Now I see why they call it Darken Woods.”

Diana laughed and Allison screamed when Lee pinched her tight ass. Leon grabbed Diana’s arm, steadying her. She had tripped over a small patch of uneven ground. Greg was laughing hysterically as they continued on down the dark trail which would lead them to the party.

Leon looked off to the side when he caught a pair of glowing red eyes looking back at him from the trees. A cold chill went down his spine. He blinked and they were gone. He suddenly felt like going home, but really wanted to have a good time, and not disappoint his friends.

The deeper they traveled into the forest, the louder the music got. Diana was holding onto his hand. He knew she didn’t want to fall. That would ruin her new dress, and he knew she really wanted to show off how fine she looked in it to her girlfriend, Becky.

Shouts and hoots could be heard just over the rise, when all of a sudden, people came running out the bushes half naked, screaming at the top of their lungs. “SKUNK!”

Leon was jerked forward by Diana, who was running like a crazy bitch. For a bitch in four inch heels, she sure could run. She pulled him up the trail and down to see that the party was indeed huge. Fear forgotten, they stood their as the others rushed passed them. Leon laughed as he watched them run off into the dancing throng, and Diana let go of his hand out of mild embarrassment that they had been running.

He spotted Becky and pointed her out to her. She kissed him on the cheek and told him to have fun. He got the hint and watched her walk off to greet the girl of her dreams. He looked around, spotting Allison and Greg already in the beer, dancing like lunatics to the heavy metal. Bobby and Lee were nowhere to be seen. Those two were probably still thinking the skunk was after them.

He rolled his eyes and moved over to stand next to the warm fire. Some guy offered him a can of beer and he took it with a thanks. He popped the cap and took a light sip. He really loved the taste of beer, but it was so watered down compared to homes. He looked back through the fire and that was when he saw Daniel dancing with the blond.

He let out a soft gasp and closed his eyes. The pain was till raw as if they breakup had only happened yesterday. He dropped his beer into the fire and the flames shot up, causing the cheating bastard to look over at the dark beauty behind the glowing flames.

The jock’s eyes widened because the light from the fire only intensified Leon’s ethereal beauty. Leon knew that his heart could be seen through his eyes. He smiled sadly at Daniel and walked away from the light.

He walked over to stand behind a huge oak where nobody could see the single silver tear spill from the corner of his left eye. He cursed himself for being so stupid. Why had he even come here? He had homework to do and a wall that needed to be stared at. He was going to get behind schedule. That was when he felt the large hand on his shoulder, and he quickly saw that it was Daniel. He was looking at him so sadly with those big green eyes of his. He pulled away, not wanting to be touched by him again. “What do you want?”

Daniel looked down at the ground and then sighed heavily. “The way you looked at me just now,” he whispered. “There was no hate in it. Why?”

Leon didn’t want to answer him. He didn’t deserve an answer. His question seemed honest, but he didn’t care. “Travis is waiting for you.”

“Travis can continue waiting,” Daniel told him, and then asked. “Why did you look at me like that?”

“Because,” Leon whispered sadly. “It tore my heart out, walking in, seeing you on top of him, riding him like a horse into battle.”

“Leon…”

“We date for two years, Dan,” Leon hissed, backing away from him. “And I catch you sleeping with that fake blond in OUR bed…”

Daniel looked away. Apparently he couldn’t look at him. “I’m sorry.”

Another tear fell from his eyes and he quickly wiped it away. He didn’t want Daniel to see the unnatural silver glow of it. “I’ll always miss what we had…” He quickly began to walk away from him.

He walked past some people and Diana followed with Becky in hand. “What’s wrong?” She asked in concern.

Leon smiled, holding onto his stomach. He would fake an illness. That would be the best way to handle this. “I’m not feeling well,” he lied with flawless skill. “I’m going to head back and hit the bed.”

Diana frowned. She looked like she really didn’t want to leave. “Do you want me to come with you?”

Leon saw the look on Becky’s face. She looked like she didn’t want Diana to leave either. He shook his head, smiling at his best friend. “No,” he told her, wanting her to stay and have a really good time with Becky. “You stay and have fun. I’ll be fine.” He bent down, and kissed her on the cheek. “Love you.”

“You to,” she said, and he walked off into the darkness. “Call my cell if you need me!”

He waved over his shoulder. “You know I always do!”

He locked the door behind him, turning on the light, wishing he had never gone to that stupid party. He seriously was considering cursing Allison and Greg with a months worth of zits.

He kicked of his shoes and threw his socks into the clothes basket before walking into the bathroom to wash off the eyeliner when the lights began to flicker. He stood there, looking around as they started to flicker even more. It was almost violent.

He had no idea what the heck was going on, but jumped when the lights suddenly went out on him, leaving him in darkness. He reached into his pocket for his cell phone so he could call Diana, when he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his chest. It hurt. It hurt so much.

The lights flickered back on, and he looked at his reflection in the blood splattered mirror with horror in his eyes. A bloody fist was protruding through his chest with his steal beating heart in hand. The creature behind him was smiling with horrible ruby red eyes and he gasped as blood began to flow from his mouth. “D...Dan?”

His head flew back as the fist pulled out of his chest, causing him to cry out in agony. He spun around full circle, falling into darkness as his body hit the cold wooden floor.

“Now,” that crazed and cruel voice snarled like a pit of venomous vipers. “Now, I tore your fucking heart out, you stupid fairy.”

Sam woke up with a gasp and Dean was at his side in an instant. “What’s wrong? Did you have a bad dream? I’ve never heard you scream like that before, Sammy. You nearly gave me a heart attack.”

“Dean,” Sam sobbed, looking to make sure his heart was till where it was supposed to be. There was no gaping hole in his chest and he quickly sat up. “We’ve got to go.”

“Okay,” Dean said, helping him up. “Um, where are we going?”
