Night Moon

Chapter One: Daybreak

Perry Cox rested on the wall, gritting his teeth. A death. His current streak had been broken. Two months without a single death. There was no comfort for him at the hospital or at home. At Sacred Heart, every two-bit hack and idiotic noob would come and ask him to do the most menial task. And then there was his archenemy, Bob Kelso...
Of course, at home he had to deal with the psychotic Jordan Sullivan, a beautiful, but horrible, woman whom he had the 'joy' of marrying once before. She loved nothing more than to mentally ravage and destroy him. Everyday was a challenge, in which the only escape seemed to be his eventually death, which, to him, couldn't come fast enough.
J.D. trotted up to him. Dr. Cox rolled his eyes. "Lillian, if you ask me anything remotely boring, I'll rip out your guts and fed them to the ravenous demon at home, who is past her monthly feeding of human organs."
"You mean Jordan?" J.D. asked.
"Yeah. Now, what is it?" Perry demanded.
"Um, a Ms. Robertson has internal bleeding and we wanted you to..."
Dr. Cox interrupted him. "Cici, you are a big girl. You can take care of it." he nodded, walking away.
J.D. rolled his eyes. "I get it. I'm a girl!"
Dr. Cox gathered his belongings, and trotted out the door, speeding to avoid any unnecessary attention. He had worked at twelve-hour shift, and was exhausted, mentally and physically. He drove his sports car into his garage.
