Title: Long Time Missing.
Author: Me...of course.
Pairing: Jason/OFC.
Note: That little bit there (points at beginning) is a force of habit.
She pulled up to the Cyber Cafe in her convertible. She sat back in the seat after she turned the car off.
"God...just shoot me now," She said before she got out.
She went inside, making sure her sunglasses were on perfectly and her coat was zipped up. She looked around the place and smirked. Just like Tommy, She thought to herself. She walked further inside slowly, listening to the background noise, getting herself acquainted to the smells, sights, and sounds of the Cyber Cafe.
"Can I help you?" said a kid next to her.
She turned to the sound.
"Sorry, didn't see you there," She said to him, sitting at a clear table.
"It's okay," He smiled at her.
He cocked his head, studying her.
"Let me guess," She said, removing her sunglasses, the lower light feeling much better on her shined eyes, "you're a sketcher?"
He nodded, "Yes, actually, I am."
"Kewl," She smirked.
She put her sunglasses in her pocket.
"Can I get a strawberry/chocolate mocha?" She told him, nodding to the pad in his hand.
He wrote it down.
"I'll get that to you in a bit," He said to her.
Before he could leave the table, she said something.
"I never got your name."
"Trent."
"Cool. See ya in a bit, Trent."
Drinks and More People:
Trent went up to the counter and leaned over.
"Hey, Hayley," He called to the woman in the back.
She came up front and saw him leaning over the counter.
"What?"
"You know that drink Dr. O told us to watch out for?"
"Yeah, what about it?"
"Someone just ordered it."
Hayley came forward and Trent got off the counter.
"Who?"
"A girl. Weird eyes...like glowing liquid silver."
Hayley's eyes grew large.
"What else?"
"She has like...."
He discreetly thumbed at the girl in question over his shoulder. Hayley gasped.
"No...way..."
Trent's brows furrowed.
"Who is she?"
Hayley audibly gulped.
"Call Tommy. Tell him the drink was ordered, tell him to get a move on before the person leaves."
Trent shrugged and did as he was asked.
"Dr. O?"
"Trent?"
"Yeah."
"Why are you calling?"
"Hayley told me to."
"And?"
"She said to tell you that the drink you told her to keep an eye on was ordered. And to get a move on before she leaves."
Trent didn't get an answer as Tommy hung up on him.
"Well that was rude..." He said under his breath.
Hayley had the drink ready and Trent took it to the girl that seemed to have them in an uproar.
"Sorry if it took so long," He chuckled, setting it down, "my girlfriend called and..."
She smiled in understanding. Though Trent didn't know that she could see right through it.
"You got a break?"
He nodded and sat down.
"You were studying me."
He nodded again.
"Thinking of sketching me?"
"Maybe. You also remind me of someone."
"Who?"
"My science teacher."
She calmly set down the mocha before she choked. She started laughing.
"gah....I don't know whether to take that as a compliment or an insult."
Trent held his hands up in surrender.
"He's pretty cool...don't tell him I said that though."
She shrugged.
"I won't."
Tommy thinks and She waits:
Tommy hung up the phone on Trent. He hadn't seen his sister since he moved to Angel Grove. And now she was here...in this town...how did she find him? Was she even looking for him? Did she even know that he was alive? Cause he knew that she was informed of what happened to the island...but... He sat back in his chair. It had been thirteen years and he had to admit that he missed her...a lot. He reached over and grabbed his coffee, looking into the nearly empty cup. He made a note to have a real stiff drink later.
"She's just a kid...or she was one...don't need to be afraid of her," He mumbled to himself.
Was he ever going to get off his butt and get over there before she left? Maybe...just maybe. Meanwhile: She sat there, nursing her nice hot drink, watching the kids that came in and out of the Cyber Cafe. She sighed as she watched a color coded group of kids together.
"Just typical," She groaned, "figures Tommy had to be in town when the power rangers were."
Trent stopped at the table.
"So who's Tommy?" He asked.
She sighed, "My pain in the neck big brother."
Trent snickered.
"You said something about him and the Rangers?"
She gulped. He discreetly flashed his morpher at her and she rolled her eyes. Trent sat at the table with her.
"It figures for Tommy to get involved with something like that," She told Trent, "he was one himself. The one with the most, you could say. Original green ranger, original white ranger, red zeo, first red turbo, and now...who knows..."
About Big Brother:
She sat back and sipped the last of her drink and set it down on the table. She sighed and watched the new Rangers. Trent had to go back to work, so she didn't have anyone to talk to. Her eyes glazed over as she lost herself in thought.
"Why are you watching us?" asked a girl's voice to the side.
She nearly fell out of her chair, but the red ranger caught her. He helped her sit back up and she put her sunglasses back on.
"I just had to come to a town where the human jelly beans had to be," She grumbled.
The yellow ranger laughed.
"Human jelly beans?" She asked, sitting at the table.
She rolled her eyes.
"Get kidnapped by Rita Repulsa enough and you learn a few new words," She sighed.
The blue ranger's eyes got big.
"Names, kiddies? Or else I will tell you some more colorful names for the Rangers," She said the second comment softly.
They looked at each other.
"Tell me yours and I'll show you mine," She indicated to her glasses.
They nodded.
"Kira Ford."
"Conner McKnight."
"Ethan James."
She smiled.
"And I'm guessing dear ol' Tom left me out of his video?" She hinted.
Their eyes grew to the size of saucers.
"You're...."
"Old pain in the butt's only sister?"
They nodded.
"Yuppers. He has a fraternal twin brother too."
"Cool," Ethan said softly.
"Yeah, but..."
"But what?"
"David was killed in a car accident when Tommy was still in college."
They gasped.
"Oh my god..."
She nodded.
"He wasn't able to make it to the funeral," She told them, a crack in her voice, "and...."
Enter Big Brother:
"One time..." She laughed, "Tommy...."
She had to take a breath.
"It was relayed back to me...although I wish I had been there to see it..."
Then there was a voice.
"See what?"
She nearly fell out of her chair, but she was caught.
"Tommy...."
Tommy smiled at her. He helped her stand and took a good look at her.
"You look good, Tamsyn," He hugged her.
Tamsyn Serena Oliver was so tiny compared to her brother. Her tiny 5' 1" frame to his 5' 11".
"I talked to Rocky and he was able to find something of yours..." She reached into her pocket, her hand wrapping around two golden coins, "there's no power in them...but he thought you should have them anyways."
Tamsyn placed the green and white power coins in his hand. She gathered her things and prepared to leave.
"Where are you going?" He asked, admittedly looking a little lost.
Tamsyn sighed and turned around.
"I did what I came for," She told him, adjusting her sunglasses, "I gotta go. Got things to do, people to bail out, Power Rangers can't help themselves ya know."
