Standing On Two Feet

Hey y'all, so I know, I know, about dang time, lol, but hey, I'm back. Time for the sequel for Looking For Solid Ground that I've been promising since like November. Sorry it's taken so long, but you know, life has drama sometimes. Anyway, so, I know this chapter is kinda short, and nothing major actually happens, but I had to set up the story, so yea. But yea, thank y'all so much for being patient, and for all of y'alls reviews for the last fic. Seriously they mean the world to me. And, well, enjoy!

Brooke yawned as she struggled against her body's obvious want to wake up. She muttered a curse under her breath at the feeling of the sun shining through the window and onto her face, knowing that as soon as she opened her eyes she'd be blinded. Eventually she gave in, opening them, the brightness making her tear up as she adjusted to the light, the gentlest of smiles forming on her face as she looked at the figure before her.

Haley was lying there, completely wrapped up in the white blankets, her hair falling perfectly messy around her angelic face. Her eyes were lightly closed, her eyelashes seeming to go on forever. The contentest of smiles played on her beautiful lips. Brooke couldn't help it as she leaned over, leaving the softest of kisses on her lips.

Haley mumbled incoherently as she snuggled into the warm body before her. Brooke's smile widened as she wrapped her arms tightly around the shorter girl.

"Haley," she said softly, loving the way her name sounded.

Haley's nose scrunched cutely as she fought waking up.

"Come on," Brooke giggled. "I know you can do it."

Haley's eyes slowly opened, and she laughed at the sight of Brooke's dimples on full display, "Hey."

"Hey," Brooke replied, the raspiness of her voice sending chills down Haley's back.

"I love you," Haley smiled, bringing a hand up to touch Brooke's cheek gently.

"I love you too," she nodded, turning to kiss the palm of your hand. "No regrets?"

"Not a single one."

Brooke beamed, pulling her in a tight hug, loving the feeling of their bodies that close together, "You slept good?"

"Like a rock."

"I really wore you out, didn't I?"

Haley laughed, "You're never gonna change, are you?"

"No," Brooke shook her head before growing nervous over whether or not that was the right thing to say.

"Good," Haley smiled, before kissing her sweetly. "I wouldn't want you any other way."

Brooke beamed as she locked eyes with the big brown ones before her.

"What?" Haley asked curiously.

"You're my Tutor Lover."

"How long have you been waiting to say that?" Haley giggled.

"You have no idea," Brooke smirked, turning her over onto her back, kissing her neck playfully.

"Brooke," she laughed as the brunette above her showered her with kisses.

"What?" Brooke asked innocently, pushing herself up in order to look down at her.

"Nothing, nothing at all," Haley shook her head with a smile. "You may continue."

Brooke raised an eyebrow before leaning back down, attacking Haley's neck once more, loving the sound that her laughter made as it filled their room. She felt Haley's small hands on her bare back, rubbing encouraging circles. She took a deep breath, loving the sweet smell that always surrounded the tutor.

Brooke wrapped her arms tightly around the girl beneath her, lowering herself down as she hugged her tightly, burying her face in her neck.

Haley kissed the top of her head as their feet tangled up.

"What are you thinking about?" Brooke asked softly, loving just how soft Haley's skin felt against her own.

"How perfect this is," she replied.

Brooke smiled, nuzzling her neck, "It's pretty damn perfect if you ask me."

Haley kissed her once more.

"So what are you really thinking about?"

Haley laughed; Brooke could always see right through her, "Everything."

"Are you worrying again?"

"There's so much that needs to be fixed."

Brooke rolled her eyes, "Only you could be worrying about stuff that you don't even need to be worrying about at a moment like this."

Haley sighed, wrapping her arms tighter around the raven-haired beauty.

"Hales, we've been through this. One, you can't save every single life that crosses your path. Two, you need to learn how to let things go and relax."

Haley nodded.

"So...where do you want to start?" Brooke asked, knowing no matter what anybody said, Haley would still be the person who always stopped in the middle of the road to help the turtle cross.

"I don't have the slightest idea," she admitted.

"How about this...after you fix me, we get up, take a nice shower, go get a big breakfast at Karen's, and just go where the world takes us, ok?" Brooke suggested, pushing herself up once more.

"Fix you?" Haley looked at her worriedly.

"Yea, you know," she pouted. "I think I might be broken."

Haley smiled, catching on, "Well, I think I can fix that."

"Yea?"

"Yea," Haley nodded, bring a hand to the back of her neck. "Come here."

Brooke smiled as their lips crashed together.
