.-.

Finally, after a month of annoying, grueling work, the Doctor got his TARDIS fixed after that incident with the Titanic. He took a quick shower, got dressed, and then set the coordinates for Earth. Where and when? That was for the TARDIS to decide. Giving the TARDIS the decision always made her happy, and a happy TARDIS was a good TARDIS.

She landed, and the Doctor smiled gleefully, possibly a little anxiously, to see where the TARDIS had brought them. He looked into the monitor to see that he landed on the outskirts of a small town.

“Ah, how quaint,” he said. “Not too dangerous looking.”

Just then, a blaze of gunfire sprayed across the town square, and running from the flying bullets looked to be an armed robber. The Doctor placed his glasses on his face and watched with fascination. Did the police officers need help in nabbing the criminal, or should he leave the work to them?

Someone zipped by his view screen, getting his attention. He twiddled the screen dial to try getting a better look. The Doctor stared.

The man was very… extraordinary. He ran as if he were part robot, a determined look on his face. The man wore the usual British police officer uniform, complete with dark shades and a nightstick. This officer hand no gun, from what the Doctor could see, but the others running right behind him were all carrying a pistol. The Doctor couldn’t stop staring at the man; there was something about him. Not many men—let alone human men—caught his eye. Jack did, sort of, but Jack was too fixed in time; it wasn’t easy being around him. And then there was… no, he didn’t want to think about him.

The officer had just jumped over a tall hedge with ease, landed like a cat, and then was in hot pursuit once more. All the Doctor could do was watch in amazement. Now there was a human with good qualities!

It didn’t last much longer; the police officer—a sergeant by the looks of it—caught the criminal by leaping on him. The robber cried out in fear and pain, landing hard with the sergeant on top of him. Unwanted images popped into the Doctor’s head as he watched the sergeant struggle with getting handcuffs on the other man.

“Do you always get your man, sergeant?” the Doctor whispered to himself, eyes glued to the screen. “Mmm, I’d like to see if you do.” He was almost embarrassed by the spoken confession, but since he was alone in the TARDIS he decided to just smile wickedly to himself.

.-.

“All right, we nailed ‘em!” cheered Danny Butterman, good friend and partner to Sergeant Nicholas Angel.

“Good catch, sir,” said Constable Doris Thatcher, beaming and panting.

“Thank you, Constable Doris,” said Sergeant Angel. He was barely sweating or out of breath, keeping a tight hold on the robber’s cuffed hands. “Danny, read him his rights, I need to check something.”

“Of course,” said Danny.

Nicholas Angel jogged back the way they came, fast but not at his top speed. He stopped at one of the roads that led out of the town of Sandford, took off his shades, and stared at the blue police box. That wasn’t there the last time he had patrolled this area. He stepped closer, but cautiously. It looked older than the police box they had in town.

Angel spun his nightstick and stepped forward, determined to figure out what was going on. He circled the blue box twice before stopping in front of its doors. Whoever put this here was either playing a prank or thought they were allowed to put police boxes wherever they pleased. Angel decided to go headlong into it and knocked his nightstick on the door.

“If there’s someone in there, come out,” he said in a demanding tone.

Although he was expecting someone to come out, he wasn’t expecting to see a large room behind the person in the police box. He also wasn’t expecting the person to be tall, slim, and rather handsome either.

“Hello,” said the Doctor, smiling wide and looking friendly.

Angel looked past the guy’s shoulder as best he could into the police box. “What is--?” he began, but then the guy shut the door behind him.

The Doctor politely held out his hand. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Sergeant. I’m the Doctor.”

“Doctor who?” Angel asked, shaking his hand.

“Just the Doctor.”

“Is this your police box?” Angel asked, waving his nightstick at it.

“Yes, as a matter of fact,” said the Doctor. “But I didn’t catch your name?”

“Sergeant Nicholas Angel,” said Angel formally.

“Nicholas Angel,” said the Doctor as if he were trying the name out on his tongue. “Very interesting name…”

“This box of yours… it’s not supposed to be here.” Angel knocked his stick against it.

“No?” said the Doctor, grinning as he looked up at his TARDIS. “Well, it’s not hurting anything.”

“It didn’t look… normal,” Angel said in a low tone. He was slightly freaked by what bit he did see behind the Doctor.

“Ah, well, suppose it’s not, at that.” The Doctor stuck his hands into his pockets and rocked on the balls of his feet.

“Might I have a look inside,” said Angel as politely as he could. “I just have to make sure it’s not dangerous.”

“Of course it’s not dangerous,” said the Doctor, exasperated. “It’s mine.”

“Still, I’d like to have a look.”

“Blimey, you remind me of an old friend of mine.” The Doctor smiled. “Oh well, come on in.”

He opened the blue box’s door. Cautiously, Angel stepped inside; he was blown away by what he saw. He stood there for a moment, stunned, and then stepped back out to see if it was true. The Doctor leaned against the console and observed the human’s behavior. He remembered a few of his human assistants doing the same thing, so it was nothing new.

Finally, Angel walked up to the Doctor and pointed his nightstick at him in a demanding gesture. “What is going on? What is this?”

“It’s a TARDIS,” the Doctor explained calmly.

“A what?”

“TARDIS; it stands for Time And Relative Dimensions In Space. It’s my ship.”

Sergeant Angel looked as if he were about to pass out. “It’s a… a spaceship?”

“Yes,” said the Doctor. Then he had to move quickly in order to catch the Sergeant. “A bit too much at first, eh?” laughed the Doctor. He carefully lifted the Sergeant up into his arms and carried him toward the sofa. Just as he stood from his position, the TARDIS’s alarms went off.

“More visitors, I see,” he said, grinning. He looked at the monitor. “Ah, his companions. I suppose I should explain what happened to their sergeant.”

.-.

“Where’s he gone?” Doris wondered aloud as the group wandered a few feet away.

“I dunno,” said Danny. “Oh, maybe he went after a suspect!”

“That would be like him!” huffed Doris. “Okay, we should split up and search for him.”

“How d’you reckon?” asked Andy Cartwright.

“Yeah, who made you the boss?” demanded Andy Wainwright.

Doris kneed Wainwright in the balls, and he went down hard and fast. Cartwright and Danny cringed and squeezed their legs together.

“My knee in your crouch, that’s who.”

There were no more arguments from the team, so they split up. Danny went with Doris, feeling it was for the best, because if they found Nicholas then he could take some of the credit with Doris for the decision they made. Not that he was into kissing up, mind.

Doris was the one to spot the blue police box. “Oi, when did that get there?”

“What?” Danny said.

“That!” she said, pointing. “That police box!”

“Oh,” said Danny. “Dunno. Should we investigate?”

“Yeah, maybe we’ll find clues.”

.-.

“Here they come,” said the Doctor. “Well, best introduce myself. Be back in a tick,” he said to Sergeant Angel, whom was still out cold.

The Doctor stepped out to greet them, smiling.

“Look!” said Danny. “Maybe he can help us.”

“Excuse us,” said Doris, flashing her badge. Danny fumbled for his own to flash. “Police. We’d like to ask you a few questions.”

“All right,” said the Doctor.

“First off, what’s your name?” said asked while Danny took out his little memo pad and pen to write everything down.

“The Doctor.”

“Doctor who?”

“Just the Doctor,” he smiled.

“The Doctor?” said Danny.

“Yes,” said the Doctor. “Hello!”

“Why’s there a blue police box here?” Doris asked.

“Now that’s a good question! Why is it here? And more importantly, why did it bring me here?”

Danny and Doris stared at him in confusion.

“Come again?”

“Or, er, it’s mine,” said the Doctor.

“I see,” said Doris. “Are you a special agent or something?”

“I don’t know. Should I be?”

“Have you seen this man?” Danny asked suddenly, showing the Doctor a picture of Nicholas.

“You have a picture of him in your wallet?” said Doris, shocked.

“Of course I do,” said Danny. “We’re mates.”

“Well,” huffed Doris. “Next time we see him I’m making sure I get one as well.”

The Doctor smiled, highly amused by these humans. “Well, if you must know, I have seen him.”

“Great!” said Doris. “Where?”

The Doctor gestured toward the blue box. “Follow me.”

To say they were surprised by what they saw was an understatement. Danny looked just like Angel did before he fainted. The Doctor steered him over to the armchair next to where Angel was.

“Inspector Angel!” Doris gasped and went to Angel’s side. “Oh, what happened? Is he all right?”

“Just passed out from shock,” said the Doctor. “Like your comrade there.”

Danny had just passed out on the armchair. Doris snorted. “No tolerance for the strangeness.” Then she looked up at the Doctor. “What is this place?”

“It’s a TARDIS.”

“A what?”

The Doctor sighed.

.-.

When Sergeant Inspector Nicholas Angel finally came to, he discovered that he was lying on a sofa and Doris was staring down at him.

“All right?” she said.

He sat up, rubbing at his face. “Where am I?”

“Apparently we’re in a spaceship that travels through space and time.”

He stared at her for a moment. “Oh. Where’s Danny?”

“Over there, passed out. Poor bloke.”

Nicholas stood and went to his partner. He slapped Danny’s face lightly at first, to see if he could wake him, but there was no response. He slapped harder.

“Danny, wake up!”

“Huh, what?” Danny opened his eyes.

“Come on, stand up,” Angel said, pulling Danny up onto his feet. Danny stumbled a bit.

“Hello again,” said the Doctor. “Awake, I see.”

Angel, Danny, and Doris stood shoulder to shoulder and stared at the Doctor.

“I’m afraid I’m gonna have to take you in,” said Angel. Doris and Danny looked at him in slight shock.

“Why is that?” said the Doctor, not looking phased.

“Because… you’re an alien, and we can’t have aliens roaming the town and scaring the townsfolk.”

“Sir,” said Doris. “I don’t think that’s a good idea.”

“Did I ask for your advice, Constable Thatcher?” Angel growled.

Doris straightened her back, snapping to attention. “No, sir. But the Doctor…”

“It’s for everyone’s own good.”

“But, Nicholas,” said Danny softly. “He ain’t done anything wrong. Besides, look at him… he looks human.”

“Who knows what he’s gonna do while here?” Angel said firmly. “Sorry, Doctor, but you’re coming back with us.” He took out his spare handcuffs.

“Ah, I’m sorry, Sergeant,” said the Doctor, “but been there, done that, and I don’t care for a repeat performance.”

With that, the Doctor hit a button on the console and the rotor started to move up and down.

“What’s going on?” Danny said, looking around fearfully.

The TARDIS dematerialized, taking Nicholas Angel, Danny Butterman, and Doris Thatcher with it.

Just so you know, yes there will be smut in this, and I have most of it planned out and jotted in a notebook, so you shall see it soon! Just have to get the plot somewhat set up beforehand.
