The Moonlight Does Strange Things To The Mind
The mysterious humming that was coming from the control room made him stop. ‘No one should be in here’ he thought to himself, as he ascended the stairs to find out who was lurking about at this hour of the night.
The hands of his watch told him that it was nearly three in the morning, and that sleep had yet to find him. So he had taken a morning/late evening stroll along the corridors.
As he approached the control room, he saw the familiar form of Elizabeth Weir.
She seemed to be standing there, humming a tune, and pretending to dance with someone.
Her eyes closed, and her dark brown curls flowing around her face, she looked radiant in the moonlight that shown through the window, onto her pale skin. She was outfitted in what looked to be a simple negligee. Blue in color, with a trim of lace at the bottom, that barely reached the top of her knees.
If he had been any other man, he would have stopped starring at her, and moved on. She was allowed to be there, for heaven’s sake, she was in charge of this mission.
He knew that he should not bother her, but she just looked so beautiful, and he got caught up in the feelings for her that he had been harboring for so long.
With two swift strides, he had her in his arms, her eyes flashed open, and crimson crept onto her cheeks at being caught.
But he did not say anything; he just held her close and continued to dance with her.
There was no music going, but the room to him was not at all silent.
He was caught between cursing and fleeing from this stupid thing that he had done, and kissing her senseless.
God he loved this woman.
But it would never work
There was to much in the way
To much that they were forbidden from doing
It would always be like this
Until she acted on her feelings
Things could never change
For he was John Sheppard,
Colonel of the military forces here at Atlantis.
He bent down and gave her a soft kiss on the lips,
Nothing fancy or long, just a soft peck.
“I am sorry to bother you” he said, and he backed up and walked back down the stairs to his rooms.
Leaving a utterly flabbergasted and speechless Elizabeth in his wake.
