Fuck.

Sara took a deep breath, letting it out slowly as she rested her forehead against the steering wheel. She wondered about her life sometimes, and how the best of intentions seemed to get her to the worst of places. She wished, if only for a moment, she and Grissom could be on the same page about something other than processing evidence. She was tired of the hot and cold routine that pervaded every step of their relationship.

She glanced over at the beer on the seat next to her, allowing herself only a few seconds to consider the wisdom of what she was about to do. Then she grabbed the six pack and exited the car before she could change her mind. Banishing all thoughts of the current conflict between her and Grissom, she climbed the stairs to her destination. With each step she took, she felt a little bit freer. Reaching her the top of the stairs, she scanned the row of doors in front of her. Double checking the slip of paper in her back pocket, she knocked on #12. Only a few moments passed until she heard the click of the deadbolt, and the door swung open.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Sofia stood in the doorway, one hand already planted on her hip.

Sara sighed, she knew Sofia would hardly be pleased to see her, but she hadn't planned on outright hostility. "I brought a peace offering." She held up the beer.

Sofia stood there for a moment, more than a little taken aback to find Sara on her doorstep; it was a sight she was sure she'd never see, and far more appealing than she'd ever imagined. "Fine." She pushed the door open wider, and Sara slipped past her.

Setting the beer down on the kitchen table, Sara turned to face Sofia. She knew she had been harsh when she had discovered Sofia in Grissom's office earlier in the day, and apologizing had seemed like the right thing to do a few hours ago, but now that she was standing in the middle of Sofia's kitchen, uncertainty crept through her and all the words she had rehearsed in the car on the way over fled her brain.

"Say what you came to say." Tossing her long ponytail over her shoulder, Sofia leaned back against the counter and waited. “And then you can be on your way.” She added the last part as an after thought, and couldn’t help wondering for whose benefit, hers or Sara’s?

Sofia's gaze was piercing, and for the first time Sara knew what it was like to be on the other side of the interrogation table. "I thought you might want someone to talk to." She lifted her gaze to meet Sofia's, and for the first time, really looked at her. And what she saw surprised her; the frantic vulnerability she had interrupted earlier in the day was gone, replaced by a need that was so familiar Sara had to look away.

"I'm not really in the mood for talking." Sofia's voice was softer now, as she uncapped a bottle of beer and took a slow sip. There was something decidedly different about Sara this evening, and she couldn't help wondering what had really brought Sara to her doorstep.

Sara held her gaze for a moment, then let her eyes travel south over the vaguely shimmering white tank top and black pants that seemed to cling to Sofia's legs like a second skin. It was when she saw the black boots with their sleek heel and pointed toe that she realized Sofia's whole outfit screamed 'fuck me.' Sara was startled to realize she was considering the invitation.

"See something you like?" Sofia set the bottle on the counter behind her. She’d been planning to find her evening’s entertainment elsewhere, but the prospects at home seemed to be improving by the minute. Her skepticism at having Sara in her apartment seemed to be morphing into something else entirely as the latent attraction that she had harbored for Sara found it's way to the surface.

A blush stained Sara's cheeks, but she didn't look away. "Maybe I do." Saying the words out loud was somehow freeing. She needed a little distraction, something to take her mind away from her problems with Grissom. If he didn’t want her, she was damn sure going to find someone who did.

Sofia's eyebrows rose and she took a step closer to Sara, nearly brushing her lips across Sara's cheek as she leaned in to speak softly in her ear. "Now's your chance to say stop." She let her lips touch the shell of Sara's ear as she spoke. "Because in about 5 seconds I am going to kiss you, and believe me, after that, you aren't going to want me to stop."

Sara could hear the beat of her heart thumping amid the utter silence in the room as she slid her arms around Sofia's neck. She wanted no questions between them, no promises that would be impossible to keep; just two people finding the solace they desperately needed.

Sofia tried to count to five, but she found herself so intoxicated by the idea of Sara in her house, in her arms, in her bed, that time escaped her and she was crushing Sara's lips beneath hers. There was nothing tentative about that first kiss, it was so infused with months of tension, so full of things that remained unsaid, that it washed over Sofia like a wave, taking with it all of the uncertainties that had consumed her over the past few days.

Sara moaned softly as Sofia pressed her back against the wall, her fingers quickly unbuttoning Sara's shirt before discarding it somewhere on the floor. Pushing the soft fabric of Sara's tank top up, Sofia slid her palms over Sara's breasts, feeling a shiver of need as she lowered her mouth to cover a taut nipple.

Sara's hands tore at the elastic binding Sofia's hair, and after a moment it tumbled free allowing her to tangle her fingers in the soft silk of it as she pressed Sofia's mouth more fully against her breast. Her head flew back, thumping against the wall as Sofia’s teeth scraped lightly over her nipple, tugging at the tight peak before circling it with her tongue.

Need blazed through Sofia as she felt Sara’s hands in her hair and all coherent thought departed her mind when Sara’s fingers caught in her hair, pulling lightly. All she could think of was the press of Sara's body against her own, cries of pleasure filling her ears.

Sara could feel Sofia tremble under even the lightest of touches, and as she drew Sofia's mouth back to her own she was consumed by the need to feel Sofia shuddering against her, rocked by the power of the orgasm that she had given her. Sliding her thigh between Sofia's legs, she brought her hands down to trace the curve of Sofia's hips.

Sofia groaned as she ground her clit against Sara's leg, pleasure spinning out from her very center as the scope of her world was reduced to the feel of Sara’s body against her own.

Sara held tightly to her, anchoring Sofia against her thigh. "Come," she said, her own need evident in the sound of her voice.

Sofia buried her face in the curve of Sara's neck, wondering where her control had gone. In the occasional fantasy she’d allowed herself, she was the one who brought Sara to her knees. Yet the reality was Sara had unleashed a need so deep inside of her, she was helpless to resist and she thrust against Sara one last time before succumbing to her own desire.

Sara had to remind herself to breathe as Sofia’s entire body trembled in her arms, and as she held her there, Sara felt something shift between them. But before she had time to consider the thought, Sofia murmured in her ear and they slid down the wall as one, collapsing on the floor.

Sofia lay within the circle of Sara's arms as she let her world come slowly back into focus. She looked up at Sara, and the moment their eyes met Sofia realized she was far from being sated. Her desire had barely been ignited and she could not resist pulling Sara down for a kiss.

Sara opened herself to Sofia's kiss, groaning as she felt Sofia's hands across the bare skin of back. She closed her eyes, allowing herself to get lost in the feel of those hands as they roamed her body.

"Bed." Sofia whispered before sucking Sara's earlobe into her mouth.

Sara heard the words but the meaning failed to register. Her limbs were delightfully tangled with Sofia's and she had no interest in disrupting the intoxicating press of Sofia's body against hers.

Sofia ran her hand up Sara’s torso, taking a brief detour when she reached Sara’s breast, unable to resist cupping its soft weight. "I want you where I can spread you out and have my way with you." Her thumb circled Sara nipple, delighting in the way it pebbled under her touch. Now that the edge was off of her desire, she wanted to take her time with Sara, drawing out her need until she was begging to come.

Sara's murmur of assent was unintelligible, but she allowed Sofia to help her to her feet. As they stumbled into the bedroom, she managed to slip her hands under Sofia's tank top, removing it and her lacy slip of a bra. She pushed Sofia back on to the bed, landing on top of her as Sofia pulled at the buttons on Sara's jeans, freeing the top button and sliding her hands under the waist band. "I want you naked." Sofia rolled Sara onto her back, sitting up to pull them off of her.

Sara took a deep breath as Sofia freed her from her pants, she was insanely wet and her clit was throbbing with need. It took all her willpower not to pull Sofia down on top of her right then.

Sofia caught Sara looking at her, her eyes so full of need that Sofia nearly came from the sight of it. Sofia knew she had brought Sara to this state of desire, and the sheer power of it washed over her, deepening her arousal.

"Your clothes now." Sara's voice caught a little in her throat as she spoke.

Sofia complied quickly, appearing at Sara's side before she could even miss her. Sara drew a finger across Sofia's bottom lip, before capturing it with her teeth and tugging it into her mouth.

Sofia deepened the kiss, letting her tongue slide against Sara's as she pressed her clit into Sara's mound, feeling the coarse brush of hair as they moved together. Sofia was unable to believe how quickly need filled her once again. But this time, her need was born on the desire to bring Sara the utmost pleasure within her power.

A soft moan fell from Sara's lips as Sofia broke away, moving her mouth down the column of Sara's neck, then between her breasts as her hand moved lightly over Sara's sex. Sofia drew her descent out as long as she could, teasing Sara until her hips bucked off the bed, seeking the touch she desired.

Sara was sure every single nerve in her body was on fire as she felt Sofia's finger graze her clit, becoming more insistent with each pass, but instead of tempering her need, it only inflamed it. "Please." Sara moved restlessly, her desperation for Sofia's touch evident in that one syllable. Without thinking she pushed Sofia's head down, throwing her own head back against the pillows.

Sofia felt her heart beat faster as she understood Sara's plea. Sliding down further, Sofia parted Sara's legs pausing for just a moment to take in the woman before her; Sara's body was taut with desire, every part of her begging for release.

Sofia lowered her head, letting her tongue dart out to finally taste Sara. She was sweet and wild, and Sofia drank her in, tasting a thousand things at once. She could feel Sara fairly vibrating with need under each stroke of her tongue, and from the low keening sound that filled her ears Sofia knew she had Sara right at the edge. Flicking her tongue more firmly over Sara's sex, she slid two fingers into her core with an agonizing slowness, wanting desperately to feel Sara come.

Sara lost it the moment she felt Sofia inside of her, pushing her right over the edge. She cried out, stars blossoming behind her eyelids as her orgasm radiated through her.

Sofia rested her head against Sara's stomach, as she let her ride out the last tremors of her release, content to simply listen to the sound of Sara’s breathing and bask in the warmth of her body. It wasn’t until she felt the gentle stroke of Sara’s fingers on her arm that she finally slid her fingers free from Sara’s core, crawling up to lay beside her.

Sara smiled as she felt the soft tickle of Sofia's hair against her shoulder as Sofia curled up next to her. Turning to face Sofia, she gently brushed the loose hair from her forehead. "I want to touch you."

Sara spoke the words against her ear, a soft sigh that Sofia thought she might have imagined, but the gentle brush of Sara's fingers over her center sent a very real spark of need right through her and she moaned, pressing her hips into Sara’s touch.

Sara took her time letting her hand drift over Sofia's thighs, gently parting her legs and drawing her finger through the short hair that covered Sofia's sex. She continued her ministrations, tracing the shape of her before letting her finger dip into the silky wetness of Sofia's core. Sara groaned softly as she buried her fingers in the intense heat.

"Sara..." Sofia's voice was strained as she fumbled for words. “Fuck me.” She twisted against Sara, needing to feel her deep inside of her pussy.

Sara stifled a gasp as Sofia’s words traveled through her, their frankness making her even wetter at just the thought. Sara shivered a little as she drew two fingers up and around Sofia's clit then thrust them back into her, eliciting a sudden gasp of pleasure from Sofia.

Sofia's hands curled, pulling up fistfuls of the sheets as she lost herself in Sara's touch. She wondered if she'd ever known such intense pleasure in all her life, and all she wanted was more. "Harder." She opened her eyes for a moment to look at Sara, reaching out a hand to caress Sara's skin.

Sara held her gaze as she added a third finger and continued thrusting into Sofia, letting her soft grunts of satisfaction guide her. Shifting slightly, she moved her other hand over Sofia's clit, pressing down on the tight bud as she continued to fuck her.

Sofia turned into Sara's touch holding back her release as long as she could, finally submitting to the power as she felt the hard throb of her climax rocket through her. She clung to Sara like a lifeline, not wanting to lose the solace she felt stealing over her, no matter how temporary. She had no misconceptions that what had happened between them went much further than sex, but she knew that Sara had somehow opened parts of her that had been closed for a long time.

Sara let herself drift away, lulled by the warmth of Sofia next to her and the delightfully sated feeling that extended through every part of her, taking away all the loss and confusion that she had known only a short time ago. She had no idea how much time had passed when she finally felt the tips of Sofia's fingers trace a path across her forehead. "Do I have to move?" She mumbled, burying her face in the curve of Sofia’s neck.

"No." Sofia laughed, a light, joyous sound as she reached across Sara and grabbed her cell phone off the night stand. "But I think I've worked up at appetite for something other than you."

Sara blushed a little, letting her head rest against Sofia's shoulder, her finger tracing lazy circles on Sofia's forearm as she listened to soft lilt of her voice as she ordered them dinner.

After few instructions, she snapped the phone shut and turned back to Sara. "Do you want to take a quick shower?"

A smile touched Sara's lips, but she shook her head. "There will be nothing quick about it if I come with you." She rolled over and stretched, filling the space that Sofia vacated when she stood. "You go ahead, I just want to lay here for a few minutes."

“I should be out before dinner gets here.” Sofia turned as she reached the bathroom door, casting a quick glance back at Sara, taking just a moment to memorize the way she looked, the gentle rise and fall of her chest as her eyes drifted shut, the way her long legs tangled in the dark red of the sheets.

Sara felt her gaze, and turned to look at her. "I'm not going anywhere." There was something about the way Sofia was looking at her that made her wonder exactly who had broken her heart.

Sofia said nothing, simply disappearing into the bathroom with a nod.

The shower had been running for a few minutes when Sara heard a knock at the door. Her stomach rumbled at the thought of food, and she grabbed a t-shirt and some sweats off a nearby chair. She slipped into the clothes as she made her way to the door.

Three

"Gil?" Sara's jaw dropped a little as reality burst the bubble she had somehow created around herself in the last few hours; she couldn't even explain what had happened between her and Sofia to herself, and she wondered if she’d ever be able to explain it to him.

"You're not answering your cell." He looked at her and he knew; Sofia was all over her, from the LVPD t-shirt she was wearing to the messy hair that framed her face. He wanted to be angry, knowing this was the betrayal that he had been waiting for, but the truth was, all he felt was an overwhelming disappointment in himself. He had shut her out, and the fact that she sought comfort with another person should not have come as that big of a surprise to him.

"How did you know I was here?" She pressed her palms together, linking her hands in front of her as she tried to push back the fear that was pooling in her stomach. He was the one that had walked out on her, and she didn't owe him a thing yet she was filled with the feeling that she had just lost something invaluable.

"I know you." He looked into her eyes, finding only disbelief. "I know it doesn't always show, but I do." When she'd failed to return his calls, he'd tried her apartment, but he hadn't even knocked when he recalled the confrontation in his office, and realized where Sara and Sofia had some unfinished business.

"Then you should have known all I needed was time." And the fact that he had been unable to give her such a small thing had cut deeper than she could have ever imagined, leaving her feeling empty and alone. She wasn't sure what she had been looking for when she'd knocked on Sofia's door, but it certainly hadn't been sex. But the truth was it had happened for a reason, and she wasn't going to pretend otherwise. She was done waiting for him to figure out what it was that he wanted.

He knew she was right, but there was something about Sara that seemed to make him lose his ability to think like a rational person, and there was only one thing he could say to try to fix the mess that he'd made. "I'm sorry." And he was. He'd asked her to move into his townhouse, but Sara had said it was too soon. In his desperation, he'd over reacted and walked out on her without a word. If he had learned anything in the last few minutes, it was that if he wanted her, he was going to have to act like it.

Sara opened her mouth to speak but the words caught in her throat; an apology was the last thing she expected from him, and she had no idea what to say.

He took a step closer to her, taking her hands into his own. "I love you. I don't want to lose you." He had cheated her by not saying it sooner, by blaming her for things that weren't her fault, but he had cheated himself more. For the first time in the entire time he'd loved her, he felt as if he might actually lose her.

Sara stood there for a moment, knowing the truth before she even spoke it. "I love you too." The words fell from her lips instinctively, and despite the awkward situation they were in, she knew it was the truth. In the past, they had spent far too much time resisting each other, avoiding that which defined them and hurting each other as a result. "I have never loved anyone the way that I love you." He was her once in a lifetime, and for the first time, she thought he'd finally realized she was his.

He kissed her then, with a new found faith brought on by the strangest of circumstances. And as he stood there, his body pressed up against hers, he knew that everything had changed between them, the past was in the past and the future only belonged to them. It was as if after all these years of dancing around each other, they'd finally found a reason to dance together.

Somewhere in the distance, Sara heard the click of a door opening, and it took a moment for her to remember exactly where she was and when she did, she pulled away from Grissom. She turned to face Sofia, a flushed rising in her cheeks as she stood there unsure of what she could possibly say that would make even a shred of sense.

Sofia leaned back against the bedroom door, her damp hair hanging loosely around her face. The very last thing she had expected to see when she came out of the bedroom was Sara in anyone's arms other than her own. But as she stood there, her heart pounding in her chest, she realized there was a strange appeal to what she had just witnessed. She was hardly in love with Sara, but at the same time she felt a sinking disappointment for what she would never know. Anyone with eyes could see the magnetic pull between Sara and Grissom, and she’d gone into this with her eyes wide open, but at the same time she wasn't quite ready to let go yet.

"Sofia, I--" Sara stopped when she realized there wasn't anything she could say.

Sofia shook her head. "Don't," she said softly, "I mean…you don't have to go." The words were already out of her mouth before she realized she'd said them out loud. She was no fool, she knew that Sara would never be hers, but for once in her life she wanted to be part of something as powerful as what Grissom and Sara had.

Sara stared at Sofia for a moment, as the meaning of her words became clear. There was no doubt in Sara's mind that her heart belonged to Grissom, but Sofia was giving her a great gift by opening their relationship to him, and Sara knew with a surprising certainty that this was something she wanted to share with him.

Grissom watched the silent exchange between the two women, and the way that Sofia's eyes raked over Sara was not lost on him. For a moment he saw something that could have been and his heart tightened painfully in his chest, realizing that if he had waited much longer to find Sara, it might have been too late.

Sara turned back to him, trying to read the expression on his face. He looked a little dazed to be sure but he wasn't acting like he wanted to leave, in fact he seemed rooted to the spot he was standing in.

He knew Sara was waiting for him to make a decision, but as far as he was concerned it was already made. He wanted to know everything about her, and he would be a liar if he said the idea of watching her with Sofia didn't make him instantly hard.

Sofia watched the telepathic conversation taking place in front of her with interest, letting a few moments go by before she decided to give things a push in the right direction; it was pretty clear that she was going to have to get things started.

Sara took a breath, watching as Sofia shifted from her position in the doorway and took a step forward. She could see Sofia's intentions written plainly on her face, and she was helpless to resist as Sofia tilted her head and brought her mouth down to Sara's. She gasped as Sofia plunged her tongue into her mouth, Sofia's mouth was so hot and wet against hers and the pleasure they had shared was so fresh in her memory that need burned through her like a wild fire.

When Sofia pulled back, and saw the stunned look on Sara's face, she knew Sara would not deny her and any remaining doubts she might have had fell away. She let her eyes linger on Sara for a moment, and then stepped away, disappearing into the bedroom, leaving Grissom and Sara alone.

Sara turned back to face Grissom, her eyes burning with the desire Sofia had kindled in her. "We don't have to," she said, her voice husky, wanting to give him one last chance to back out because she knew once she was in Sofia’s bedroom, it was going to very hard to leave. She was perfectly willing to walk out of Sofia's apartment now though, and never look back, if that was what he wanted.

"No." He leaned in to kiss her already swollen lips, "I want to see-" He stopped, unsure how to sort out the tangle of thoughts swirling in his brain, to tell her that he wanted to share in her desire. Instead, his eyes found hers and he felt her hunger as if it was his own, and in that moment, he would have followed her anywhere. He lifted their joined hands to his lips, kissing the back of hers. “I want to do this with you.” He took a breath as he said the words, feeling their surprising truth in the depth of his arousal at the mere idea.

Sara nodded, leading him through the apartment acutely aware of the warmth of his hand in hers. For a brief moment, she wondered what the hell she was doing, but the heat of Sofia's kiss still burned on her lips, reminding her of the pleasures that awaited her.

The lights were dim when they entered the bedroom. Her eyes found Sofia’s immediately, and she took her time crossing to where Sofia sat at the end of the bed. She took Sofia's hand into hers and pulled her to her feet. Taking a moment to just look at Sofia, she let the anticipation build between them before drawing her head down for a kiss that rivaled the one they had shared just moments ago.

Sofia let Sara's kiss wash over her, finding a certain truth in her desire, a need to know what it was that Sara shared with Grissom, because whatever it was, she wanted to find that for herself.

Grissom watched Sofia deepen the kiss, watched as Sofia's hands roamed Sara's body, but it was when Sofia's hand slid inside Sara's pants that he almost lost it. He felt as if his blood was on fire, and not even his wildest dreams could have come close to the scene unfolding before him. The soft pant of Sara's breath was like a siren calling to him and he found he could no longer be still. He ached to touch Sara, to feel her body move against his as Sofia stroked her.

Sara sighed softly as she felt Grissom come up behind her, his fingers brushing her sides, his hands slipping under the hem of her shirt. He pulled it over her head in one swift movement, and she fell back against him, sighing as Sofia's mouth found her breast. Sara was surprised at the feeling of safety that nearly overwhelmed her as Grissom's mouth slid along the column of her throat, and Sofia's touch inflamed her desire.

Sofia worked her tongue in circles around the tight peak of Sara's nipple as her finger kept a steady pace over Sara's clit. All she could think of was pushing Sara to the brink of pleasure and keeping her there for as long as possible, and she didn't need to ask to know Grissom would be more than her willing partner in that task.

Grissom slipped his hands under the waistband of Sara's sweats, pushing them down over her hips. They slid down her legs, where Sara immediately kicked them away. He could not take his eyes off of Sofia's hand as she stroked Sara's clit and his cock throbbed as it pressed into the small of her back, aching to be buried deep inside of her.

With her pants gone, Sara was free to press herself more fully against Sofia's hand. "Inside me," she said, her breath coming in short bursts. She reached out, her hand finding purchase on Grissom's arm and she curled her fingers around it, letting him anchor her.

Grissom's hand grazed the back of Sofia's, and she glanced up at him, letting him take over for her as she slid her fingers into Sara's core. She felt the shudder that went through Sara as she entered her, and Sofia had to take a steadying breath as her fingers sank into the silken heat. Falling to her knees in front of Sara, she watched Grissom's finger practically vibrate over Sara's clit as her entire body stiffened with her impending climax.

Sara's whole body shook with her release, as the combined power of their touch radiated through her.

Grissom felt Sara's legs give out from under her, and caught her easily in his arms, whispering softly in her ear as the gentle pressure of his finger drew out her climax. As she turned in his arms, her only thought was that this was exactly what she had imagined it to be; a heady mix of pleasure and passion, and even through the haze of her orgasm she knew she wanted more.

He held her for a moment, until he felt Sofia's hand on his arm, drawing him across the room. The three of them stumbled as one, somehow making it to the bed. Sofia slid across it first, taking Sara into her arms as Grissom followed.

Sara found Sofia's mouth almost immediately, kissing her with a heat that possessed more of Sofia than she ever thought possible, and for a moment she felt a little piece of herself fly free, the piece she knew belonged to Sara. She had tried to tell herself that this was just sex, but there was truth in the desperate hunger she felt as Sara’s tongue danced with hers, and she could not deny it.

Sara broke the kiss, laughing softly as Sofia groaned with distinct displeasure. "Not to worry," she said planting kisses down the length of Sofia's neck. "I have been waiting to do this all night." Sara paused for a split second just to look at Sofia, drawn in by the dark desire in Sofia's normally pale eyes. There was something there that she couldn't quite decipher, an echo of something so familiar she was sure she should have recognized it. But then it was gone, and Sofia was moving restlessly against her. Sliding her body against Sofia's, Sara settled between her legs, letting one finger drift over Sofia's pussy, teasing her with the lightest of touches.

Sofia held her breath as she watched Sara duck her head, need pulsing deep within her as Sara's tongue grazed her clit. It took every ounce of control she had not to press herself into Sara's mouth, but she wanted this to last as long as possible.

Grissom had to remind himself to breath as he watched Sara between Sofia's legs, a need to touch Sara overwhelmed him and he reached out to her, letting his hand trace a path down her back, before curling himself around her. He parted her legs just enough, slipping a finger between her thighs. She was wetter than he ever could have imagined, and he felt as if he was on fire simply from the heat of her.

Sara gasped as his finger sank into her, struggling to keep her concentration as she matched the stroke of her tongue against Sofia with the slide of his finger inside of her. His touched connected them, and with every stroke of his finger, she was somehow closer to him.

Sofia felt as if she was losing her mind, Sara was everywhere at once, driving her mad with the simplest of touches. Sliding her fingers into Sara's hair, she melted into Sara's touch, crying out as pleasure pulsed through her. For a moment everything ceased to exist, save the weight of Sara's body against her own, and for those few seconds, Sofia felt like the center of someone's universe. But as quickly as it had come, it was gone and she opened her eyes to see Sara turning towards Grissom.

Feeling safe in the knowledge that she had sated Sofia, Sara could not keep her mind off Grissom. "Gil." His name tumbled from her lips, and she sat up, reaching for him. Her hands moved to the buttons on his shirt, pushing the fabric away. His pants followed, as she felt the deep desire that was his alone. She wasted no time settling back against Sofia, watching as he tossed his clothes on the floor. She held out a hand to him, drawing him into her embrace. "I need you." She wanted there to be no doubt in his mind that when everything else was said and done, he was the one she wanted. Wrapping her legs around him, she sighed softly as he entered her.

He hovered between her legs for a moment, dipping his head to kiss a spot behind her ear, the hollow in her throat, creating a map of all of the pieces of Sara that were as familiar to him as his own hands. He knew there were a thousand things he'd messed up in their relationship, but the way he loved her was the one thing he'd done right.

Sara closed her eyes, offering him free reign of her body as his wandering kisses fueled her need for him. She'd waited all night for this, and as she sank back more fully against Sofia, she opened her self to him, wanting to savor this moment above all others.

Sofia cradled Sara in her arms; watching her was a beautiful thing, from the way her head was thrown back in ecstasy to the way her body rocked against Grissom's. All Sofia wanted to do was touch her, letting her fingers memorize the velvet feel of her skin, the soft shape of her breasts, and the way she arched into each touch.

Grissom watched as Sofia's hand moved over Sara’s chest, the effect her touch was having on Sara was not lost on him, and he quickened his pace inside of her. He'd been on a slow burn all night, pushing back his desire for Sara even though watching her had only made him want her that much more, but he knew it had been worth it. She was liquid heat, and he could already fell her eclipsing both his body and his soul.

Sofia felt Grissom's eyes on her, and it was as if time froze when she met his gaze; in the deepest parts of her mind she couldn't fathom what he must think of her, but looking into his eyes she saw nothing but the heat of their shared desire for Sara. And just when she thought he was going to turn away, he leaned forward and kissed her. It was long and slow and blended into the sensation of Sara writhing between them and she knew that for him, this was all about Sara, about what he could give to her. And with his lips pressed to hers, Sofia's heart ached for a moment, wondering what it would be like to be loved the way Grissom loved Sara.

His mouth was already on Sofia's when he realized he hadn't really intended to kiss her, after all it was Sara he loved but when he had looked into Sofia's eyes, he could only see what they shared, and there were no words to describe that. He knew from that kiss that Sofia was going to get her heart broken somehow, that she'd already invested too much in this. But in a strange way he understood.

Sara watched as Grissom broke away from Sofia, she was so dizzy with need, and Grissom was so deep inside of her she almost lost it at the sight of them. But it was when Sofia slid a hand between their bodies, rocking her finger over Sara's clit that she tumbled over the edge. The soft sound of Sofia's voice in her ear mixed with Grissom's as he came inside of her, and she faded away as the echoes of their voices surrounded her.

Grissom slid off of Sara, draping his arm over her waist as he curled himself around her. He only intended to close his eyes for a moment, but contentment filled him, and he soon followed.

Sofia lay there for a long time with Sara's hand in her own, watching them as they dozed before she finally slipped out of bed. Hours later, Grissom and Sara would wake to find her gone.

It was a dull stream of light poking through a gap in the blinds that woke him the next morning, and if Sara hadn't been draped across his chest, he might have thought last night to be a dream. His mind was such a jumble of thoughts, he wasn't sure how to make sense of any of it, but looking down at her, at the utter peace that graced her face during sleep, he knew the only thing that mattered was that she was here with him. He let his fingers sift through the silk of her hair, and she stirred slightly, soft sounds falling from her lips. "Hey," he said, relishing the way her body moved against his. If he could wake up like this every day for the rest of his life, he would be a happy man.

Sara lifted her head, pushing the hair out of her eyes and smiled at him. She felt as if she'd never slept so much in all her life, and as she looked at him, she recognized a new contentment flowing through her veins. "You okay?" She wasn't taking any chances this time, and they hadn't had much time to talk after leaving Sofia's. They'd only stopped for a few minutes to grab some take-out before heading back to Grissom's town house for a quick shower and some sleep.

He nodded, his fingers tracing a pattern on the back of her hand, unsure of exactly how he was supposed to feel after their unique reunion. He was overwhelmed with the idea that Sara was even in his bed, much less that they had brought Sofia into their relationship, if only for one night. Despite the fact that he had been more than a willing participant, he couldn’t help but wonder what the light of day would bring.

His reticence was not lost on her, and she wanted nothing more than to put his mind at ease. "Last night...in its own way, was kind of amazing." She blushed a little as the previous night's activities came rushing back to her in vivid detail. "But it could never compare to this." She let her fingers brush against his cheek, as she leaned down to kiss him. “You are all I need.”

For a moment, all he could do was look at her, wondering how she had read his mind with such ease. Until the words came out of her mouth, he had no idea how much he needed to hear them. "I love you." He slid a hand into her hair drawing her mouth down to his, kissing her without pause or preamble, knowing that his heart was hers for the taking.

From the moment his lips touched hers, she was filled with a need so powerful that it made her heart ache. Months ago, when Grissom had come to her saying he loved her, that she was his whole world, there had been a part of her that held back, refusing to believe that the words coming out of his mouth could ever be true, but now as they lay together, she finally found truth in those words. "That's all I want," she said pressing a palm to his cheek, "You loving me."

He took her words to heart, rolling her over so she was on her back. He undressed her with infinite attention to every part of her. Lowering his mouth to her breast, he sucked her nipple into his mouth, teasing it with the tip of his tongue as his hand parted her thighs.

Sara closed her eyes as she felt his touch between her legs, breathing deeply as she let everything else fall away. No one had ever touched her the way that he did, with such absolute reverence that in his arms she felt nothing but perfection. Until this moment, she had never allowed herself to trust his love so completely and when she did every last doubt in her mind evaporated.

He heard a soft sound of pleasure escape from her lips and glanced up, expecting to see a look of bliss on her face, but instead he discovered her cheeks were streaked with tears. Fear flooded his veins, knowing he was the one responsible for those tears. "Sara?" The moment she opened her eyes though, he knew his worries were unfounded.

She had no idea there were tears running down her cheeks until she felt his thumb brushing them away. But as he whisked them away, placing kisses where they had fallen, she realized they weren't tears of sadness, they were tears of belief, washing away years of confusion and doubt, and leaving only love in their place. She wanted him inside of her, to be able to look into his eyes, and actually have to wonder where he ended and she began. "I want to be with you in every way that I can." She chose her words carefully, wanting him to know that this was about so much more than their bodies coming together, it was about their souls.

His heart was so full of this moment, of the way she was looking at him, he feared it might burst. But then she was kissing him, her arms snaking around his neck as she rolled him onto his back, sliding her body against his. His pants were gone in a split second, and then she was straddling him. He sank back against the pillows as she slid down on him, until he was so deep inside of her he was nearly consumed by her heat. She leaned forward and kissed him, long and deep and when she pulled away to look at him he knew where once they had been two, now they were one.

She could not seem to tear her eyes away from his as she rocked against him; the need she found there went somehow beyond the physical, without a single word, he told her she was essential, and that it was her love that made him whole.

He could feel her devouring him, and he was helpless to resist as he simply lost himself inside of her, knowing that when he opened his eyes, it would be to look upon her beautiful face. And for all of the ways she brought him pleasure, it was that thought alone that made him come.

She felt his entire body stiffen against hers, and then he cried out her name as his heat surged within her. There was something in that moment that changed her, something in the way her name sounded on his lips, something told her this time it really was forever. Sara fell forward, collapsing on his chest, her fingers stroking the length of his arm.

He held her there for the longest time, oblivious to the minutes as they ticked by, thinking only of the connection that they shared, and never wanting it to end. There had been moments in his life when the depth of his love for Sara had scared him, when he had pushed her away for fear of loving her too much, but now, as he lay with the warmth of her body surrounding his he found real love among truth. And when he looked in her eyes, he knew she had found it too.
