Kinch looked up from the radio and controls at the sound of the door opening.
He could hear the sound of a single pair of boots coming down the steps.
Hogan walked into the tunnel.
"Hi, Colonel." Kinch said, a small hint of a smile forming at the sight of Hogan.
He hoped that his commanding officer didn't notice. Kinch was secretly in love Hogan.
He loved Hogan for his charm and charisma. He was afraid to say anything about this to
anybody because of homosexuality and interracial dating being frowned upon.
"Hi, Kinch. Did you get the message from headquarters yet?" Hogan responded.
He felt himself blush slightly.
He quickly busied himself so that Kinch wouldn't notice.
He really liked and respected Kinch on so many different levels.
He loved Kinch and how level headed and calm he was.
"The message is still being transmitted, sir." Kinch said.
Kinch noticed that whenever Hogan would look at him, Hogan would start
blushing slightly and would turn to where Kinch couldn't see his face.
Morse code beeped rhythmically as Kinch continued writing down
the message. Hogan continued to busy himself.
Their thoughts were consumed by each other. Kinch kept misprinting words.
He would quickly erase it and re-write it. Hogan could barely hold onto
anything due to his palm's being sweaty.
"Colonel, the transmission is finished." Kinch said.
"Ok... Let's see it." Hogan said.
