Chapter 1
Metropolis, Club Dare, Friday, Late
Kara writhed to the music with Chloe. She'd invited her for a girls night out and it had been just what she'd needed. The frustration with finding her ship, and the crystal in it, and dealing with Clarks' lectures on blending in had been taking a toll on her mood. The music was wild and the club was a mass of moving bodies and she let herself be carried along by both, simply enjoying the moment and the absence of her cares. She wore a deep red, satin slip dress, courtesy of Lois and the only other adornments she wore was her metal Kryptonian bracelet which caught and reflected the ever changing lights as she threw her hands in the air and a small velvet string purse.
She liked the way the guys in the club looked at her while she danced. She hadn't been a remarkable beauty by Krypton standards and had not received such appreciative looks before, but here it was different. Some would dance with her and she enjoyed the interaction, but inevitably Chloe would come between them. She figured Clark might have had something to do with that, having most likely told Chloe to look after her, so she didn't really fault her too much.
She needed the bathroom and after locating it she tapped Chloe's shoulder and shouted in her ear where she was going. The blonde girl decided to join her and they were making their way to the bathroom. They passed the bar and Kara noticed a stunning brunette being hassled by a big, leather-clad guy. The girl was struggling against his grip on her arm, unable to avoid his advances. She was sure that security would break it up at any moment until she saw the guy seemed to have a bunch of his friends screening the action from view. The girl looked genuinely scared and without thinking she grabbed the guys wrist and squeezed. He let go with a yelp and looked at her incredulously.
He tried to pull free and her grip intensified. She yanked him down to her level. "I suggest you leave the lady alone or you'll find what it feels like to be thrashed in front of all your friends by girl a third your size." She hissed in his ear and tightened her grip to emphasize her meaning. His eyes goggled and he nodded hastily. "Good Boy." She told him patting his cheek and then finally released his arm. He scuttled off immediately, ignoring his friends. The girl smiled at her and Kara suggested she might want to join herself and her friends on their bathroom run, just incase the guy found his nerve and returned. The girl looked around nervously and nodded.
Her name was Violet and they all chatted amiably while they waited in line for the bathroom. It turned out she was originally from Smallville too, but had moved to Metropolis to attend college. Once they'd done what they needed to and were touching up their make-up, Kara commented on the gorgeous shade of red lipstick Violet was about to apply. "Here." She said recapping it, unused and offering it to Kara. "I can't. I was just admiring it." She protested. "Its new. I haven't used it." She said misinterpreting Kara's reluctance. "No, its not that. It looks expensive and it really isn't necessary." Kara explained. Violet laughed. "Nonsense. It's the least I can do for your help with that muscled ape and besides my mom makes it so I get it for nothing." She told Kara and pressed the lipstick tube into her hand.
Kara thanked her, smiling. She didn't have any actual make-up of her own, she was always borrowing from either Chloe or Lois. She felt a little thrill to have something of her own. She applied the deep red lipstick, a near perfect match for her dress, and for a moment a red haze flashed before her eyes and she felt a sensation of dis-orientation. It all happened so quickly she actually doubted it had happened at all and she shrugged, checked herself in the mirror and joined her friends as they left the bathroom.
She immediately felt the rhythm of the music as they stepped back into the club and was already dancing as they walked towards the dance floor, following her friends. They passed the bar and Kara saw another girl sipping on a mutli-coloured cocktail with an umbrella in it. It looked interesting and she wanted one. She made a grab for the girls drink and she pulled it away with an indignant cry. Kara frowned and was about to make another more forceful grab when someone tapped her on the shoulder.
She turned, annoyed to find herself face to adam's apple with some guy she'd never met before. She looked up, ready to give him a piece of her mind. He was blonde, blue-eyed and handsome and her harsh words died on her lips. "If you want one that badly, I'll get you one." He told her, his voice deep and resonant. Kara smiled. "Thank you." She replied and he gestured to the barman and ordered her drink and a beer for himself. "I'm Kyle, by the way." He informed her as they waited for their drink. "Please to meet you, Kyle By The Way. I'm Kara." She returned his introduction playfully, lightly touching his arm and he chuckled. She studied him. He had a lean, athlete's body dressed simply in a dark, form-fitting t-shirt and jeans. He was studying her too and she could see his appreciation in his eyes and starting to show in the front of his jeans.
Their drinks arrived and she sipped at the wonderful looking concoction. It was sweet and fruity with a little bite. She smiled over the rim of the glass and then finished the drink in one continuous swallow. It made her belly feel warm and she grabbed Kyles hand. "Lets dance." She told him, dragging him onto the dance floor, not waiting for his answer. He didn't protest. She let the music move her, the sexy beat swayed and rolled her hips. He danced close to her and she enjoyed the feel of his body as she pressed against him, sliding her back up and down against his hard, muscles chest. She felt free and without a care in the world as she playfully pressed her ass against the bulge in his pants. "Lets see Chloe or Lois get between me and Kyle." She thought, laughing wildly in her mind. His hands slid over the curve of her hips, caressed her thighs and then his arms wrapped around her waist, holding her against him.
They were starting to attract a little crowd of onlookers, including Chloe and her new friend as she continued to grind back and writhe against him to the beat of the music. Chloe, standing behind Violet, was frantically gesturing at her to stop what she was doing, but she was having too much fun. His arms felt good around her until he started holding her a little to tightly, inhibiting her movements even as he ground forward into her. He wa starting to remind her of her stifling, holier-than-thou cousin who seemed determined not to let her do anything. He wouldn't even let himself fly, the idiot. Kyle was leaning down, nibbling at her neck and although she liked the sensation she was starting to feel trapped by his large form. She wanted to be free, to move to the music as she pleased.
Whether he resisted her purposefully or misinterpreted her reaching for his arms, when he didn't release her, she grabbed his wrist and almost casually broke his hold and tossed him into the crowd, sending him sliding across the floor. She continued to dance, unconcerned. "She should give Clark a piece of her mind. She was older than him after all." She thought still swaying to the music and weaving her hands in exotic patterns as it pleased her. Chloe got to her just as security started wading through the crowd toward them. "Kara, we have to leave." Chloe hissed in her ear. "Why? I can handle these guys, easily." she asked, Chloe frowned at her. "Haven't you listened to anything Clark told you about staying under the radar?" she countered. "Clark." She said his name with disgust, making Chloe's eyes widen.
"She could take the three large guys converging on her through the crowd, but there would most probably be more and eventually the police too. It would be such a hassle." She thought. "Okay, Chloe. Lets go." She told the girl. Chloe took her hand and after a hasty goodbye to Violet started pulling Kara towards the exit. They hadn't gotten far before being intercepted by the bouncers. "Sorry guys. We don't want any trouble. We're just gonna leave. She just had one Redbull too many. You know how it is." Chloe explained, not quite stopping her forward momentum. The head bouncer grunted non-committaly, but all they did was escort the two young women to the door and asked them politely not to return. Chloe assured them they wouldn't and they went on their way.
At Chloe's car she spun to face Kara. "What was all that about?" she asked sharply. "What was what? I was just having a good time. Isn't that what you brought me here for?" Kara replied folding her arms under her breasts. "You caused a scene, Kara. What do you think Clark is going to say when he finds out?" Chloe continued. "Jeez, Clark again. The only way he'll find out is if you tell him and why would you do that? Nothing happened." Kara retorted. She was getting fed up with having to explain herself, here and now to Chloe and for the last two month or so with Clark. "You know what?" she continued rhetorically, "It really doesn't matter. I am done with this, Kal El is not my father, he isn't even my elder. I don't have to do what he or you tell me and I'm going to go tell him so right now." She told Chloe making a decision. She watched Chloe gape before starting to speak. She didn't have the time or inclination for a discussion so she leapt into the air and streaked away.
Chloe watched her until she was out of sight. "What had gotten into Kara?" she wondered. She looked down and saw Kara's purse and guessed she must have dropped it. She reached down to pick it up and found something sticking out of it. It was a tube of lipstick. She held it up. It wasn't a big brand name, but the logo did seem tantalizing familiar. She decided to head to The Daily Planet and check it out. She figured Clark would just have to deal with Kara on his own.
The feel of the night air rushing through her hair and over her body was exhilarating and she sped up. No one could explain the sonic boom that was heard over Metropolis that night. She reveled in the freedom of flight, looping and swooping for the sheer fun of it. "Kal El was a food to deny himself this kind of pleasure." She thought. "Hmmm Pleasure. It had felt good to feel a male body against hers again. How long had it been, even before the stasis pod?" she wondered. She'd give Clark a piece of her mind and then maybe go find someone to satisfy the needs she hadn't even realized she had. With, her plans set she turned toward Smallville and sped toward the Kent farm.
It was a hot Kansas Summer night as she landed on the porch. She went in and kicked off her shoes before padding silently up the stairs to confront Clark. His door wasn't completely closed, so she just pushed it open. She looked down at her cousin. It was a hot night and he was lying on top of the covers in nothing but a pair of boxers. She had known him for about two months and it wasn't until right then that she realized he was quite handsome, an epitome of Kryptonian manhood, but that didn't mean he had the right to lord it over her. She would say her say and he would argue and unless he agreed to let her live her life as she chose, she'd simply leave.
Her earlier thought intruded. "Would a human be up to the task of fulfilling her needs?" She wondered. It hadn't been uncommon in Kryptonian culture for cousins or even siblings to be lovers. She stared down at Clark. The idea was appealing, but absurd. "Clark would freak so far out they'd have to find a new term for it." She thought chuckling to herself, but she could indulge herself a little and it would set the tone for their discussion. She concentrated and floated a few feet off the ground. She maneuvered herself carefully until she could lower herself onto her knees, straddling his torso. He looked so peaceful, so un-obnoxious, so well muscled, so manly. She lowered some of her weight onto him and saw his eyes flutter open. "Kara?" he queried sleepily. "Yes." She answered quietly and leaned forward and kissed him.
