Auto Shop
Chapter One
It was the first day of school and Sam was heading to his first period class. Auto Shop.
“Oh goody,” he mumbled. “Gotta learn to change a tire somehow.”
He walked into the class and was greeted by his best friend Cassie.
“Why does it not surprise me you’re in this class?” he asked with a smirk spread across his lips.
“Because I’m amazing and wanted an easy class. I already know how to rebuild a car, so this class will be easy as pie. Plus, I knew you were taking it, so I had to just to make fun of you for being one of the few guys I know who doesn’t even know how to change a tire,” she replied before punching Sam in the arm.
They both grabbed seats at the front of the classroom as the bell rang, waiting for their teacher to arrive.
Cassie leaned over to Sam and whispered, “I heard they got a new shop teacher this year because Mr. Randal retired.”
“That’s what I heard too. I bet it’s some old, cranky fart who doesn’t want to be here,” Sam whispered back before they both giggled softly in agreement.
The door opened and the class became quiet as they all stared at the man who couldn’t be more than 24, walked through the door. Sam stared exceptionally hard. Sam noticed he had on a pair of greasy, worn blue jeans and tennis shoes, with what looked like a new gray t-shirt that hugged a drool worthy , in Sam’s opinion, chest. He finally made it up to his teacher’s face and noticed he had very cut features, and the most luscious pair of lips and green eyes Sam had ever seen.
Cassie leaned over to Sam again and whispered in his ear, “Creaming your pants in public is rude ya know.”
She giggled as Sam looked over to her and exclaimed "Cassie!" in a louder than the whisper voice he wanted.
A male voice interrupted them before Sam could say anymore. “Excuse me; do you have any questions you would like answered?”
Sam and Cassie looked up at their new teacher with bewildered looks on their faces. Sam asked the only question he could think of. “What’s your name?” Sam groaned internally, and Cassie giggled again.
“Dean Winchester, as previously stated,” he answered as he raised his eyebrow and crossed his arms over his chest. Sam blushed and mumbled an "okay" and glared at Cassie when she giggled again. “And you would be?”
“Sam,” he answered without looking at Dean.
Dean smirked and continued on with his introduction. “Okay, so I was explaining how I’m going to grade you. I grade you on your participation in class and how much you learn on a weekly basis. Pretty much, come to class, get a little dirty, and don’t sleep and you’ll pass. If your attendance starts lacking, I will dock your grade though. Any questions?” he looked around the room, but no one had their hand raised. Then he directed his gaze at Sam again, causing him to blush and look away. The bell rang, saving Sam from anymore embarrassment. He got out of his seat and waited for Cassie to follow him before they started walking out of the classroom. Sam chanced a glance and caught Dean watching him as he walked out.
“You know lusting after our teacher is grounds for me to make fun of you forever right?” Cassie stated more than asked before she started cracking up laughing. Everyone stared at her as her laughter grew in volume and Sam said "shut up," causing her to laugh harder. She laughed all the way to their next class, which was geometry.
Sam didn’t pay any attention to the rest of his classes, and barely heard the bell signaling the end of the day. He grumbled his way to car to his, but stopped and smiled as he saw his baby breach the horizon.
“Hey babe, how you been today?” he asked as he ran his hand along the top of his 1969, midnight blue chevelle. “I bet it was better than mine,” he stated as he got his keys out to open his door. He was so wrapped up in what he was doing, he didn’t notice that anyone was around until he heard a door shut behind him causing him to give a small, startled jump. Sam turned around and was greeted with a grinning Dean.
“Heya Sammy. Didn’t mean to scare ya. Nice ride. ’69 chevelle right?” Dean admired the car as he waited for his answer.
“Yeah,” was all Sam could come up with. Dean’s grin got bigger as he took his eyes away from the car to direct them at Sam.
“Where’d you get it?” honest curiosity in his voice.
He looked away from Dean and answered, “My dad left it to me.”
The grin immediately dropped from Dean’s face before he said, “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to bring up bad memories.”
“It’s okay. It was a long time ago,” he answered before he slowly brought his face back up to meet Dean’s eyes. He was stunned once again at how vibrant they were.
Dean stared back at Sam before he decided to change the subject. “So, where’re you going now?”
“I have to go to work,” he answered as he turned around and opened the driver side door.
“Cool. Where do you work?” Dean asked as he came to stand next to Sam’s open door.
“The Crew,” he answered as he slipped into his car. Dean’s eyes followed his movement before realization dawned on him.
“Wait, isn’t that a gentlemen’s club?” he got a mumbled yeah in response. “Why are you working there?”
“Gotta pay the bills,” was his answer before Sam turned on his car and it roared to life. Dean let the subject drop and smiled at the purr the car gave off as it idled.
“You take good care of her don’t you?”
Sam looked at Dean and smiled. “Yep. She’s my baby girl. Can’t do it myself, but I take her to a good friend’s and she gets spoiled there.”
“Who?”
“Cassie, the girl I was talking to in class today.”
“Cassie? She’s into cars?” Dean was honestly stunned.
“Yeah. She probably knows almost as much as you do about cars.”
“Huh. Well, I’ll make sure to give her the hard jobs.” Sam just shook his head at Dean’s answer before he looked at the clock.
“Shit, I’m gonna be late. Excuse me Mr. Winchester, but I have to go. I’m going to be late.” Dean pushed himself off of Sam’s car and walked over to his own. Sam couldn’t tear his eyes from Dean’s jean clad butt as he walked away.
“Hey Sam,” he looked up to meet Dean’s gaze, “Just call me Dean. Mr. Winchester just makes me sound so old.” Sam smiled before he closed his door and drove off.
Dean watched as Sam’s car disappeared into the distance with a pensive look on his face before he got into his car and drove home.
