Don't Tell Me Who to Be

Danni ran an aggrivated hand through her dark hair. She had just gotten out of the shower, and the moment she stepped
into her room, there he was. Sighing in anger, she asked, "Lex, what do you want now?" Lex just stared at Danni, as she
stood there. She was standing there, her hair wet and shining, and a towel that fit snugly on her body. Lex's imagination
was going wild, but he only grinned at Danni. Danni sighed in disgust. "Put your tongue back in your mouth, Lex. Grow
up."

Lex rolled his eyes at Danni's words. "Why do you always have to be so rude?" He asked, taking a step back. Danni glared.
"Why do you have to be such a moron? I'm a woman. I'm a human being, with thoughts and feelings. I'm not some type of
trophy, that you just parade around all the time." Lex laughed out loud. "Well, if that isn't the pot calling the kettle black."
Danni rolled her eyes in anger. "Just what is that supposed to mean?" She demanded, rage flowing through her entire body.

Lex shook his head. "You know what? It's not even worth it. You never listen to a word that I have to say, so why would
things be changing now?" Danni threw her hands up in the air in frustration. "Here we go again! Every single day, it's the
same damn thing! Just say what you mean already!" She yelled, losing her patience completely. "Fine. You can't be the
person that I should be with. You're not the type of woman I can stand having around all the time." It was the first time
Lex had been completely honest.

Danni folded her arms across her chest in anger. "I can't be perfect, Lex. There is no such thing. I can't be a little woman
who is content to follow you around everywhere, like a lost puppy. I am the way I am. Take me as I am, and don't tell me
who to be!" Lex threw a chair in Danni's direction, which just barely missed hitting her by inches. Danni got up in Lex's
face. "You are so lucky, that chair didn't hit me." Lex laughed at Danni's words. "Oh, what are you gonna do, slap me?"
He asked.

Danni punched Lex in the face. Then she repeated the action several times. Lex stood there, shocked, however after three
blows to the face, he grabbed Danni firmly by the waist, and pulled her to him, forcing his lips on hers. After a few seconds,
the fight left Danni's body, and she became taken over by the kiss. Lex could barely resist a grin. They really were perfect
for each other. They always fought and got back together again. Always. Their relationship was one of love/hate. It always
worked out great.

Both of them were stubborn as hell, and could match temper to temper. It was why they always went toe to toe. Suddenly,
Danni pulled away from Lex, her eyes were blazing in anger once again. "Do I look like the type of sissy, that goes around
giving people a few small slaps on the wrist? I'm not. If there is a problem, I solve it with words. If it's with you, then with
fists." Lex slammed Danni into the wall, and then he kissed her again. He loved how at first she'd been a little scared that
something was actually going to happen.

But then, Danni had wisened up to the game. Lex knew that Danni was a fighter, and that she liked things rough. But could
she really handle a man who was as tough a she wanted, maybe even needed? Danni had been startled at first, when Lex
had slammed her into the wall, but then she had grinned. It was like a game. Being with Lex felt dangerous, and she loved
every second of it. Of course, no one else knew that they were together. Danni could picture the other Mall rats' reactions,
if they ever found out that she and Lex were seeing each other.

Bray would go crazy. Jack and Ellie wouldn't care, as long as they were happy. No one would understand. Trudy and Alice
would go right into nurse mode, asking if she were sick, or on drugs, and didn't know what she was doing. Lex loved how
he could be rough with Danni. He loved how they could be rough with each other. There was something about the way
that Danni didn't take any of his crap, it made Lex love her all the more. "What are you smiling for? What are you thinking
of?" Danni asked, as she and Lex took a seat on her bed.

Lex smiled again, before replying, "I'm just really happy. I was thinking of us, and how long we have been together. We've
been through a lot." Danni nodded. "I know, and it has been really hard." Lex hugged Danni. "I understand. The miscarriage
was like a turning point in my life. I had to decide what I wanted out of life, and I decided that I wanted you. When you were
pregnant, I was so afraid that I'd hurt you, or that another tribe would hurt you. I never would have guessed that one day
you'd wake up with cramps and bleeding." Danni nodded, as she blinked back tears. "My body couldn't handle it." Lex rubs
Danni's back soothingly. "It's okay, Danni. We don't need to have kids. All I need is you."

The End.
