Prologue

Just one kiss on my lips

Was all it took to seal the future

Just one look from your eyes

Was like a certain kind of torture

Once upon a time there was a god, and there was a man

Just one touch from your hands

Was all it took to make me falter

Forbidden love

Are we supposed to be together?

Forbidden love, forbidden love

Forbidden love

We steal our destiny forever

Forbidden love, forbidden love

Lois Lane cried out only to make a sharp turn with the wheel when lightning struck the road right in front of her. Her red SUV went off the road and straight into a corn patch of all places. She was so distraught and caught up in the moment that it took her several seconds to remember that she really needed to brake.

Her vehicle came to a sudden stop and she just sat there with the wipers swishing back and forth trying to catch her breath when she looked out the windshield to see what looked to be angry golden eyes staring down with wrath from the sky. Suddenly red and yellow lightning spiraled down from the sky hissing like a great serpent to strike the field in a violent explosion.

A wave of blue energy spread out and her voice caught in her throat only to claw out with a slight shriek when something smacked into the front of her SUV only for complete silence to take over. She quietly looked up over the dash board and blew her long bangs out of her eyes in slight fear and even greater annoyance.

She slowly opened her driver’s door and jumped out to walk around making sure that her precious baby was all right. That was until a small moan caught her attention and she took off through the field to a small clearing that had fire burning here and there, and she saw a young man lying on his stomach on the scorched soil completely naked.

“Oh my god,” she said stepping forward thinking that he was either dead or might be dying until she saw his foot move and suddenly he was on his feet in an instant.

“Hey,” she said a little taken back by how quickly he moved for a guy that had just been struck by something that was suppose to be hotter than the surface of the sun, “Are you okay?”

His back was to her and she felt herself blushing because he had some very nice assets.

“What’s your name,” she asked while stepping closer to the very tall young man.

“I,” he said not facing her but looking around at the scorched soil, “I’m not sure.”

“Perfect,” she said rolling her eyes at her luck, “I need to get you some help.”

He suddenly turned around to face her and Lois’s eyes almost popped out of their sockets from how handsome and how very naked he was, “I’m fine.”

“Yes you are,” she said and then shook her head doing her best to keep her eyes locked on his deep green ones, “But you just got struck by lightning and have no idea who you are.”

He cocked his head to the side because what she was saying did make some sense to him. He really didn’t have a clue about what anything was to be honest. He was physically all right but he had no idea who he was or even where he was.

Where was that warm embrace that held him so tenderly? Where were those gentle words that soothed and filled him with such bliss? Where were those beautiful eyes that held such infinite love?

Slowly the memories were starting to fade and tears were now streaming from his intense green eyes. He looked up to see that talkative female reach out her hand and he hesitantly but gently took it.

Lois smiled softly up at him, “Come on,” she said leading him like a small child by the hand, “I have a blanket in the back that you can wrap up in so you won’t get cold.”

She had him to lay down in the backseat and she put the red blanket over him. His skin was a soft gold color in the light and she made sure that his feet were clear before she shut the door.

He brought his knees up to his chest and shivered not from the cold but from fear. The blanket was soft and smelled sweet. He snuggled tightly up in it for some small sense of security.

“Good thing my baby has four-wheel-drive,” Lois said getting in and closing her door with a good slam.

“Four-wheel-drive,” the green eyed young man asked in confusion, “Baby?”

Lois turned around to see her new green eyed friend all snuggled up tightly under her blanket and smiled, “Why don’t you get some sleep Green Eyes?”

“But my question,” he said looking up at her intently from his spot.

“This vehicle is my baby,” she said guessing that the lightning must have fried some part of his brain as she backed up and then started to drive forward back up on the bank to the road, “And four-wheel-drive just got us back up on the road.”

“How,” he asked raising his head up just a little to look at the back of her head in horror wondering what kind of monster was she, “Did you ever give birth to something of this size?”

Lois snorted and caught his eye in the rearview mirror, “It started out very tiny Green Eyes.”

“Oh,” he said putting his head back down in the some relief and closed his eyes.

She looked back up to see him with his eyes closed and wondered where the hell that cancer stick managed to get off to.

The impact crater was deep and black smoke rolled out of it and over the scorched burning earth around it. A luminous being that glowed like a white fire crawled out of the black smoke with tears of rage burning down his glowing cheeks.

“Why,” he shouted up at the violent sky that was swirling with angry black clouds and hissing with lighting with a voice that was all too mortal and racked with unimaginable pain.

A hot wind blew the smoke and fire all around his naked frame as he sobbed uncontrollably. Lightning hissed and crackled high in the sky as he raised his head once more, “How could you do this to us Lord Faeno?”

Silence was his answer and his violet eyes widened in rage, “I love him!”

“And so you were punished,” a thunderous voice boomed all around him with such anger and mock.

“Why,” the violet eyed man screamed as his hands smacked the earth that at one time could have shaken it terribly.

“You are divinity,” Lord Faeno spoke, “And he was not.”

“Why should that matter,” the violet eyed deity asked in tears, “I love him!”

“You always were the hardest to control Loth,” Lord Faeno boomed angrily, “You broke my law!”

“But I,” Loth tried only to be cut off by a violent explosion of thunder.

“You know the taboo Loth,” Lord Faeno hissed, “It is a forbidden love!”

“You are hereby stripped of all your major godly powers and access to the higher realms Loth,” Lord Faeno said matter of fact and Loth trembled in fear and rage. He could no longer here and see everything.

“We caused no harm,” Loth yelled up at the violent sky that had black clouds swirling madly.

“Forbidden love,” Lord Faeno bellowed like a mighty ocean wave smacking the shore with ferocious intensity, “You spirited him away from this world to take as your own! The divine are not meant to mingle with mortals!”

“He is different,” Loth shouted through his tears, “He’s special!”

“Mortal enough,” Lord Faeno said with angry sting, “In the fullness of time he will pass like all the rest of the lesser beings in this universe.”

“I hate you,” Loth screamed in anger and pain, “To think I ever thought you loved me!”

“I do love you,” Lord Faeno said striking like lightning from the sky to knock Loth back several feet onto his back deafening him with his angry thunder, "And that is why I must punish you for your insolence!"

“You broke the law,” Lord Faeno said with wrath, “All of your lover’s memories of his time with you have been erased forever!”

“No,” Loth screamed and sat up with unnatural grace because he still had his minor powers that made him more than just human only for Lord Faeno’s voice to fade like hissing silk, “Forbidden love…”

Loth let out a mighty scream that echoed all around him and closed his eyes smiling sadly, “Is the most beautiful.”

He opened his violet eyes and his long black hair blew in the stormy wind behind his back like raven wings to take a look at his surroundings. He slowly got to his feet and took a small step and then another as he gazed around with his new mortal like senses. This world was so tiny.

Everything looked, felt, sounded, and smelled so different now that he was only a demi-god. How was he ever going to find him in this new state of existence? Would he still fall in love with him now that he looked like this? Where was he?

He looked off as far as his new eyes would allow him and whispered into the stormy night sky, “Kal…”
