Home, At Last

Walking felt easier than flying right then. More comfortable. More familiar.

He walked down the sidewalk, and felt the cement tremble warily beneath his steps.

The city writhed around him, alive and pulsing with sound. It surrounded him, and folded over the edges.

The building was before him much too soon, and he looked straight up. The top window's reflection was brilliant, and he narrowed his eyes, looking through the brilliance and into the inner sanctum.

He could see him.

He was standing at that very window. It wouldn't have surprised him to see fierce, gray eyes turn down to look his way. Really, the shock was more overwhelming to see those sharp, intelligent eyes focus out into the distance, settling no where and everywhere.

Lex looked lost. Tired.

Stepping into the building, he walked over to the front desk and gave the woman sitting there a friendly smile. The smile seemed somewhat effective until he 'strongly requested' an audience with Lex Luthor.

"Do you have an appointment, Sir?"

Clark shook his head slowly, the smile firmly in place. "I don't need an appointment. Lex will see me."

He noticed the pitying look that crossed the woman's face, and rolled his eyes. Crossed his arms, and looked pointedly at the phone on her desk. Waited.

For two seconds.

Her hesitation wore thin on his already shredded patience, and he grasped the phone and looked up through the dozens of floors. Hundreds of people, desks, tables...Lex. He focused in on Lex's phone, and read off the extension.

Pressed it into the keypad, and watched as Lex turned slowly from the window to stalk over to the desk. Long, elegant fingers curved over the keypad, pressing the speaker button.

"Yes?"

"I'm home."

Clark watched, feeling the agonizing, liquid pressure swell behind his eyes. Lex fell to his knees, his hands clawing at the phone in desperation. Words caught in his throat, trapped between thick, rasping sobs. "Clark?"

"Do you want me...to come up?" Tears spilled down his face, and he wiped them away hastily, ignoring the astonished look on the receptionist's face.

"You. Bastard." Lex moaned, covering his face with shaking hands. "Hurry."

Clark dropped the phone on the desk and ran towards the elevator, holding back his strength as he shoved people out of his way. The door were so slow, opening...closing. Forever.

The elevator crept up slowly, the low, creaking noises of the mechanics echoing in Clark's head.

Lights clicked over his head, and he watched them, his mind racing far ahead of the numbers. Everything was spinning inside. Whirling, and breaking, in a hurried rush to get to the top floor.

The elevator came to a gentle halt, the door gliding open quietly, and Clark's hand shot out to shove the door open faster. Everything needed to be faster. He should have taken the stairs.

He rushed towards the office, ignoring the woman who stood at the desk in front of the office door.

"Sir? You have to...Sir, wait! You can't-"

The door sprung open, thudding loudly against the wall, and Clark heard something fall. Shatter.

Lex stood in the doorway, his face blank and soft. His eyes...

"Now."

Clark jumped at the fury in the voice, and nodded, walking forward and brushing against Lex's shoulder as he stepped around him, into the office. Felt Lex's body shiver, hard.

He faced the window he was looking up at earlier, and it disappeared from his view as his eyes slid closed. He heard the door slam shut. Heard the locks slide into place. Footsteps moving towards him.

"Two years, Clark."

Clark turned, air shuddering out between his lips. "I know."

Lex's hands flew into his hair, clenched hard in the strands, and yanked his face down. His moist breath sobbed out onto Clark's face. "Years. Fucking years, Clark. I didn't know...where you were, when...so long." His mouth scalded as it sealed itself to Clark's.

Lex bit, pushed, wrenched his lips apart and pressed inside. His tongue was tasting, cataloguing, reassuring. Fingers scraped through the hair, scratching and pulling. Holding.

"God, you taste...you taste exactly the same. I know it now, but I was so scared I would forget. Clark, I didn't want to forget."

Clark nodded, his lips brushing against Lex's mouth, the tip of his nose. He licked his lips, and lowered his head, pushing his mouth against the side of Lex's neck. Sucked on a spot beneath his ear, and felt the pulse against his tongue.

"Lex, I'm so sorry..."

"Don't. Don't be sorry." Lex choked out, his hands pulling his head back to look into his face. "Don't be sorry; be here. Don't go away. Stay. With me. Clark, stay with me."

"I will." Clark promised, his arms winding around Lex's waist and pulling him in closer, "I'm staying. I'll never go again. I swear, Lex."

Lex's hands were pulling, yanking at his jacket. Tearing it down his shoulders. "Off. Off, now."

Clark stepped back, his eyes on Lex's face as his slid the jacket the rest of the way off. His hands rose to his shirt and undid the first two buttons at his neck. Unwilling to wait, he pulled the shirt up and off of his head.

Hands were tearing at his waist, ripping the zipper apart. He felt his knees tremble when a hand pushed down inside, grasping him.

Lex's groan eclipsed his own, and he jerked forward into the tight grip.

He was being pushed back, and his feet moved without thought. The air slipped out of his chest as he fell back against a couch. His head bounced on the slick, leather cushion and he cried out softly. Lex's hand was pulling on him, twisting and sliding.

Reaching down, he shoved his pants down his hips, and sighed loudly when he heard the graceless sob echo around the room.

Warmth, heat...wet, perfect mouth. He looked down and met shining, dripping blue-gray eyes. Lex's hands were everywhere. Sliding across his chest, gripping around his thigh. Sexy, stretched mouth closed around his cock, sucking noisily.

Lex's eyes fluttered shut, and he moaned softly around Clark. Swallowed.

Clark's head arched up, and he felt himself pulse into Lex's convulsing throat. "Lex, please. I need to touch you."

Lex moved up, pressing a kiss to the still-weeping head. Licked his lips. "I need to taste you. I need it, Clark. Come in me. Come on." His mouth closed back down, sliding and pulling him in farther.

Hands gripped Clark's hips, hard, and pushed him down into the couch as Lex's mouth moved closer, brushing against softly curled hair.

Clark's mouth dropped wide, the breaths slapping out into the air, whirling around the room. "Lex. Lex...fuck. Lex." His mind exploded, wild power surging down his neck, the arch of his back.

He bit down, tasting copper in his mouth, and he came. Lex's mouth pulsed around him, drinking him.

Lex's mouth was kissing him, wet and sloppy, moving up his stomach, his chest. Open, moist sucking against his collar, and the curve of his jaw.

His mouth. On him, in him. Clark could taste himself, thick on Lex's tongue, and he sucked it gently.

Lex's hands were moving somewhere, and he heard movement rustling, and shook when he felt bare skin surge against his.

Lex thrust up against him, driving their skin together. "Never leave. I can't lose you ever again, Clark."

"Never," Clark whispered. "You'll never lose me."

He felt Lex move, touching him, fingers thrusting up inside of him. Stretching him, stroking the inside of him. Something sparked inside of him, shocking his already wrecked body, and he bucked up against Lex.

Lex pushed inside of him, hard and thick, and Clark smiled. "I'm home."

"Yes." Tears dripped down from Lex's face, and splashed onto Clark's chest. The drops rolled down, falling into his navel, and Clark watched Lex's eyes follow the liquid trail.

"Lex," a soft sigh wavered between them, and filtered into a gasp as Clark slammed up, bringing their bodies flush. "I missed you."

"Missed you." Lex's face was full of wonder as in moved over him. Wet and shining, and flushed. And his eyes...they were alive. "So beautiful. I looked at pictures, videos...nothing compares. Nothing is the same as having you here; being able to touch you. Clark."

"I know. I'm home, Lex. I'm here."

"Fuck." Lex ground into him, thrusting hard, and came with a choked whimper. "Fuck."

Clark felt the heat fill him, and moaned softly, pulling Lex down to lie against him. "Yeah."

Lex raised himself up on shaky arms, to look down at his face. "Clark-"

"It's okay, Lex. Rest. I'm not leaving. I'm not going away, not ever again."

Nodding, Lex's face seemed caught between a smile and an anguished sort of pain. "I know. I just...need to look at you for a while. I need to see."

Clark stroked his fingers across Lex's back, kneading tired muscles through a slick layer of sweat, and watched as Lex fell asleep watching him.

Home, at last.
