Note: I stumbled on an old challenge and decided to give it a whirl. the challenge was to use the phrase "Do you need me?" in a story. Here's 'quick fic' end resultPlease note: This is my first House fic. I don't plan to do more for this, it was just a whim sort of thing, but I might be convinced to alter that plan

"Do you need me?"
House's eyes moved over the evening paper's edge to meet Wilson's anxious stare. "Beg pardon?"
"Do you need me?"
The paper rustled in his hands. Not a good sign. "Where is this going?" House demanded, crumpling the paper in agitated hands. "We've been sleeping together for what, four months now. I want you in my bed. Of course I want you."
"But," Wilson swallowed hard, blinking back the threatening tears. "Do you need me?"
A sound of disgust blew through his lips. "I want you here. The sex is the best I've had in a long time. Why do you need to complicate this?"
Nodding, Wilson rose. "I'm... tired. Going to bed."
Behind him, the crinkling of the paper told him that House had gone back to his reading. Better that way. At least it would give him time to gather his few things and slip out the back door of the house they shared from time to time. Time he so desperately needed to heal from the ever-widening slit down the center of his bleeding heart.
