October 2003
St Francis Cemetery, London England
“Holly, Holly is that you?”
“Anna” Holly said getting up. “What are you doing here in London?”
“Well I could ask you the same question but I have a feeling we are here for the same reason.”
“Yes.” Holly breathed out wiping the tears from her eyes.
“Nanny’s birthday”
“Robin told me all about how you survived the explosion and that you were living in Pennsylvania. Pine Valley I believe she said.”
“Yes I was” Anna sighed. “Holly, I want to thank you for everything you did for Robin. She told me how you stayed in Port Charles after the explosion and helped Mac out raising her.”
“Yes well I always thought of Robin like the daughter that Rob... that I never had.”
“She told me how you came back to Port Charles when Robert was looking for me. I’m sorry that you came back to find that Robert and I had remarried.”
“Yes well it wasn’t one of my better years” Holly said. “that all seems like a lifetime ago”
“Yes.” Anna sighed. “Yes it does.”
The England rain started to fall as the two women stood in the quiet cemetery. “Holly, would you like to go somewhere and have a drink before this rain really starts to come down?”
“I would like that.” Holly smiled. “I know a great café just around the corner.”
As the two women sat in a corner booth as the rain poured down outside the setting inside the café all seemed a little surreal. “Anna, what are you smiling about over there?”
“Nothing really”she said. “it just seems a little funny”
“What’s that?” Holly asked.
“Us.” she replied. “You and me sitting here having a cup of tea. Would you have ever thought eight years ago we would be having tea together reminiscing?”
“No, actually I wouldn’t” Holly said. “I guess it just goes to show you that sometimes time does heal old wounds”
“Yes, I guess it does”
“So Anna you never did tell me what brings you to London? I’m sure you didn’t come all this way because you missed the London rain and to visit a cemetery”
“No” Anna sighed staring out at the rain. “ I tried to stay in Pine Valley but after Leora’s death and my divorce from David I realized there wasn’t any reason for me to stay. I think I would have left a lot earlier if it wasn’t for David & Leora.” she said almost talking to herself as much as she was talking to Holly.
“You don’t have to explain to me” Holly said. “ I felt the same way about Port Charles and actually Australia too. After Robert there really wasn’t any reason for me to stay.”
“So Holly tell me do you enjoy living back in London” Anna asked.
“ Yes, I do however I am moving soon.”
“Oh” Anna said. “Is it job related or relationship related?”
Holly laughed. “Actually it’s neither” she answered. “I have been working for a jeweler on High Street in Kensington for the past few years but he is retiring so I figured it was time for a change of scenery. That and this rain does get a bit tiresome after awhile.”
“Where are you moving to?” Anna asked. “back to the states”
“No.” Holly answered “The Bahamas” “Wow.” Anna breathed out. “Talk about one extreme to the other. You go from this lovely weather to the beach”
“Yes, well I figured if I’m going for a change of scenery I might as well go to the other extreme.” she said. “You should come visit sometime.”
Anna looked at her puzzled “Are you serious?”
“Yes, of course I am” she replied. “ I have a three bedroom villa right on the beach. You really should come down for a holiday.”
“You know Holly I just may take you up on that.”
“Please do I think we would have a good time.” Holly said, honestly thinking about when the first met. “Besides it will get you out of this dreary weather.”
“So true” Anna smiled.
3 months later
Nassau Bahamas
Holly sat on the beach watching the sunset the past three months had been so relaxing for her. Yes she missed England but she had kept in continue contact with Anna since that day they met in the cemetery. It was strange really how these two women who had been through everything they had would end up being civil to each other let alone ending up as friends.
Holly was stirred from her thoughts as a familiar voice was calling out her name.
“Anna” she yelled getting up to meet her friend. “You made it.”
“Yes, finally I didn’t think I was ever going to make it out of Heathrow.”
“Well let’s get back to the villa and get you settled in”
“Wow Holly this place really is beautiful” Anna said walking out to the lanai over looking the beach.
“It is isn’t it?” Holly replied not quite believing it herself that this is where she was now living.
Holly & Anna were sitting on the lanai sipping a glass of wine as the waves crashed over the beach. “I can’t believe two weeks have flown by. Holly I am so glad you invited me”
“I am so happy you decided to come.”
“I have been a little lonely down here alone I had been counting the days till your holiday” Holly said.
“So have I, Holly”
As the two friends sat there talking the sky opened up. Holly and Anna both jumped up grabbing the dishes and candles from dinner as the rain poured down on them.The two friends ran into the house dripping wet after gathering the stuff from outside laughing the entire time.
“We are soaked” Anna said laughing.
“I ordered the rain especially for you I wanted to make sure you weren’t missing the London rain”
“Hardly” Anna replied.
“Let me grab some towels”
The two friends stood in the living room removing there wet things drying off from the unexpected rain shower.
Anna stood there watching Holly wearing nothing but her bra and skirt drying her hair.
“My god you are beautiful” Anna breathed out not realizing she said it out loud.
The next few moments seemed to go in slow motion. It was almost as Holly stepped outside her body and was watching herself. She slowly removed the towel from Anna’s head brushing the hair out of her face and slowly leaned in and kissed her. After lingering for several moments Holly pulled back and looked at Anna before leaning into kiss her again pulling Anna’s bottom lip into her mouth. Anna responded immediately opening and closing her mouth in perfect sync with Holly’s.
Holly slipped her tongue inside her mouth sliding it over Anna’s as she responded in the form of a soft moan into her open mouth.
Holly pulled back again looking into Anna’s dark eyes.
“Anna, I’m sorry”
“Holly please, please don’t apologize I didn’t stop you”
Anna leaned in and gently kissed Holly’s soft sweet lips once again taking her hand and leading her into the bedroom.
The two friends stood there looking at each other with passion and desire in there eyes not speaking a word as they slowly removed the remainder of each others clothing. They were nervous scared and excited. They both knew this was destined to happen. They knew it was just a matter of time till they gave into there desire for each other.
“Anna you are so beautiful”
“Holly I want you. I have wanted you for so long.”
“Shh Anna don’t talk just kiss me”
They made love well into the early morning hours.
Holly awoke in the early morning looking over at Anna sleeping beautifully with the sheet just partially covering her. She looked so beautiful sleeping Holly didn’t want to disturb her but then again she wanted so much to make love to her again. Just as Holly was contemplating waking her Anna rolled over opening her eyes.
“Good morning beautiful” she smiled.
“Good morning” Holly whispered.
“What’s wrong luv, is everything okay? You look like you’re lost in thought over there.”
“No” Holly responded. “I was just debating on doing something”
“Oh! What is that?”
Holly leaned over kissing her as the two lovers rekindled there passion til the early afternoon hours.
