Moments

“Am I interrupting?” Lindsay asked as she walked into the break room where Danny was standing in the corner holding a cup of coffee face red and Jennifer Angel was standing by the door close to tears.
“No.” Danny said.
“Yes.” Jennifer said at the same time.
“I’ll go.” Lindsay said hurrying out the door and down the hall wondering what the hell was going on.
“Where ya goin?” Flack asked as she walked around the corner.
“I think Danny and Angel are fighting.” Lindsay said cringing.
“Fuck.” Flack said looking around. “Where are they?” He asked looking nervous.
“Breakroom.” Lindsay said looking confused.
“Ya need a ride to ya scene?” Flack asked rubbing his eyes tiredly.
“Uh sure.” Lindsay said nodding and following him out to his car. “Is everything ok?” Lindsay asked as he started driving.
“Not really.” Flack said feeling bad even though it wasn’t his fault.
“Anything I can do?” Lindsay asked feeling really confused and left out of the loop.
“No.” He said shaking his head. “It’s ok.” He said and glanced over at her. “So how ya adjustin to our city?” He asked changing the subject.
“I love it.” Lindsay said smiling. “It’s definetly different.” She said looking out the window.
“Flack.” He said grabbing his cell phone.
“What the fuck did you tell Messer?” Marty Pino yelled.
“Whoa back off asshole.” Flack said loudly. “He was in da car wit me when I called.” He said pissed off.
“Fuck.” Marty said rubbing his face. “She said they were over.”
“Well she lied.” Flack said. “Listen dis ain’t about me.” He said sighing. “Stay away from da lab is my advice.” He said hanging up and pulling into their crime scene. He jumped out of the car hoping Lindsay wouldn’t ask him any questions, he didn’t want to be rude and tell her to mind her own business but he would. “Hey Mac.” He said walking over.
“Lindsay you take the perimeter.” Mac said and she nodded holding her case. “Where’s Danny?” Mac asked looking around.
“Yeah he’s on the way.” Flack said quickly. “What do we have?”
“You tell me.” Mac said shrugging. “They’re still clearing the scene.” He said and Flack grabbed his gun and ran into the building.

“What the fuck are ya doing here?” Danny asked throwing his jacket as he saw Jennifer sitting on his couch looking scared.
“Danny I love you.” She said jumping up.
“Then why do ya do dis?” He asked shaking his head. “I can’t do dis anymore Jen I’m done.” He said walking into the kitchen and grabbing a beer.
“Danny it was a mistake.” She said tears in her big brown eyes as she grabbed his arm begging him.
“Don’t touch me.” He said tossing her arm off. “Ya not reelin me in dis time, I’m really done.” He said shaking his head sick of dealing with this. “Why are ya like dis?” He asked blue eyes shining as he stared at her. “Why do ya gotta do dis to me?”
“Danny I was drinking.” She started.
“No.” He said holding up his hand. “I don’t wanna hear the excuses, god damn I’ve heard them all I swear, ya can’t even fuck strangers ya gotta fuck my friends.” He said sighing. “We been doin dis shit for a year Jen I’m finished, this was it.” He said watching as tears poured down her face.
“You can’t forgive me, I love you Danny.” She said watching him. “We can get through this.” She said softly.
“No.” He said shaking his head and brushing past her.
“We’ve had problems before, we always get back together.” She said heart pounding feeling more scared than she’d ever been.
“Yeah we’ve been doin dis a long time.” He said sitting on the couch closing his eyes.
“Baby just give me one more chance.” She said squatting down on the floor watching him. “Just one more chance.”
“Jen ya on ya 5th or 6th one more chance.” He said sadly. “Get out of my apartment.” He said looking at her.
“You’ll be back.” She said standing up and straightening her shirt. “I’ll be waiting.” She said and he shook his head watching as she walked out.

“So how are things?” Tiffy asked smiling into her phone as she visited with her sister.
“Good.” Lindsay said curling up on the couch. “Strange.”
“What do you mean?” Tiffy asked.
“Well you know I told you about Danny?” Lindsay asked smiling lightly.
“Sexy partner that calls you Montana Danny?” Tiffy asked grinning.
“Yeah, he sends such mixed signals, I mean he flirts with me but in a way that’s innocent, I mean.” She stopped looking for the words. “I don’t think he even knows he does it, he’s just a flirt and I really thought he was with this other cop Jennifer Angel, I thought they were together and god Tif she’s gorgeous but now I don’t know maybe they had a fight because I haven’t seen her in a week or so but he’s been so distant and unhappy.” She said worried about him.
“You like him.” Tiffy said smiling.
“It’s not like that.” Lindsay said face turning red. “He’s very different than what I first thought is all I’m saying.”
“Uh huh.” Tiffy said sarcastically. “You like him.”
“Trust me I’m not his type.” Lindsay said sighing. “I’m still not part of the group though, I mean they gossip like crazy but not with me, I get the feeling that they only talk about each other to each other because I’m still an outsider.” Lindsay said softly.
“But you like them right?” Tiffy asked worried about her.
“I love em, they’re great Tiffy I mean they’re all so smart and fun to be around but they’re serious too.” Lindsay said smiling.
“I just want you to be happy.” Tiffy said softly. “You’ve been through so much you deserve to be happy.”
“Tiffy I am.” Lindsay said smiling. “It’s different but I am happy.”
“Good, I’m gonna come see you soon.” She said smiling.
“Good.” Lindsay said smiling brightly. “I should go to bed.”
“Ok, call me soon.” Tiffy said smiling. “Love you bug.”
“Love you.” Lindsay said hanging up and yawning.

“So ya wanna talk about it?” Flack asked Danny as they sat at a local bar having beers.
“What ya been watchin oprah again?” Danny asked chugging his beer.
“Funny asshole.” Flack said rolling his eyes.
“I’m done.” Danny said shaking his head. “How long me and Jen been doin dis?” He asked looking up at his best friend.
“Off and on for years.” Flack said ordering more beers.
“How many times she fucked me over?” Danny asked.
“Every time.” Flack said.
“I mean what is with her, why can’t she stop?” Danny asked shaking his head looking into his beer. “She says it’s not about sex, then what the fuck is it about?” He asked and Flack cringed.
“I dunno man, some woman just fuck to feel better about themselves I guess.” Flack said not sure what he was supposed to say.
“We only been back together 3 weeks and she already fucked around.” Danny said still in shock. “Why can’t I leave dis girl alone?”
“Do you love her?” Flack asked. He’d been wondering for years why Danny kept letting her back into his life.
“No.” Danny said shaking his head. “I don’t think so, I dunno.” He said shrugging. “I like er, I mean she’s got dis pull, I look at her and I can’t say no to er.” He said chugging another beer. “I think I could have loved er, but she couldn’t stay faithful long enough for me to do it.”
“Maybe dat’s for the best.” Flack said. “Just so ya know I heard the chief talkin to er, they transferred her to the Bronx for a while.” He said and Danny looked shocked. “Said she’d lost her game and he was giving her some time away from Manhattan.”
“What’s dat mean?” Danny asked confused.
“She’s been fuckin up, she forgot to read a suspect his Miranda.” Flack said. “So he put her back on the beat for a while.”
“She’ll be pissed.” Danny said cringing. “I’m not goin there again.”
“I hope not.” Flack said sighing. “She’s done nothing but rip ya up.”
“I know.” Danny said nodding.
“Was the sex good?” Flack asked because he’d been dying of curiosity.
“At first.” Danny admitted. “I know I’m gonna sound like a girl but I can’t think if we’re fuckin cause I can’t think about all the men she’s cheated wit, I mean like dis time we got back together, I saw her out and it was like I had to be wit her and the first time it’s really good and then it’s like my mind won’t lemme forget dat I’ll never be good enough.” He said honestly. “I sound like a girl so I’m goin home to drown my sorrows.” He said cringing.
“Man I’m sorry.” Flack said watching as he threw money on the table.

“Linds you wanna grab a beer with us tonight?” Stella asked as they were all leaving the office after a long shift.
“Um sure.” Lindsay said smiling brightly. They went out together a lot and she’d been invited before but it felt like they only did it because she was standing in the room when someone mentioned it and she didn’t want to be invited out of pity. She’s been in New York for 6 months and she was starting to feel like it was home and she felt like she fit in more every day. They got to the small bar and Lindsay sat across from Danny and by Stella and they ordered 2 pitchers of beer.
“Hey Hawkes, isn’t dat ya exgirlfriend?” Flack asked looking at a woman at the end of the bar.
“Oh hell.” Sheldon said making a face.
“Monroe.” Lindsay said smiling as they teased him.
“Hey can I crash on your couch?” Tweet Lindsay’s old friend asked softly.
“Sure why?” Lindsay asked wondering what was going on.
“Gordie and I are fighting and I just need a break.” She said sighing.
“Ok, I’m not at home.” Lindsay said looking around.
“Can I come get the key?”
“Yeah I’m at Joey’s.” Lindsay said smiling.
“Ok, don’t do something silly like leave, I just wanna soak in your tub and veg.” She said smiling.
“Ok.” Lindsay said nodding.
“Ok, I’ll be there in 10 minutes.” She said hanging up.
“Something wrong?” Stella asked.
“No my friend had a fight with her boyfriend and wants to crash on my couch.” Lindsay said smiling.
“So did ya know anyone in New York when ya moved here?” Hawkes asked.
“A few, mostly her and about 4 other good friends but we don‘t hang out a lot, maybe once every 2 weeks.” Lindsay said shrugging and sipping her beer.
“Man it takes balls to move across the country.” Danny said lifting his beer to her. “I don’t have the nads to leave New York.”
“You never lived in Montana.” Lindsay said smiling at him. “Why should you leave New York, everything is here.”
“I’ll drink to dat.” Danny said nodding at her.
“You think we’re strange, we’re all natives.” Stella said smiling. “Hawkes have you ever left the city?”
“You know I haven’t.” He said shrugging.
“I don’t think Danny and Flack have either and I know I haven’t.” She said shaking her head.
“Never?” Lindsay asked shocked.
“Does Jersey count?” Danny asked grinning.
“No.” Stella said smiling. “Have you been anywhere else?” Stella asked.
“I worked in Vegas right out of school.” Lindsay said smiling. “It’s crazy, more crazy than here which I didn’t think was possible.” She said and looked over waving at Tweet.
“Hey.” Tweet said smiling.
“You sure you don’t want me to come home with you?” Lindsay asked grabbing her keys.
“Nope, seriously Elle I just wanna veg.” She said and Lindsay smiled.
“Tweet these are my co-workers, Danny, Don, Sheldon and Stella, guys this is my friend Tweet.” She said smiling.
“Nice to meet ya.” Danny said shocked that Lindsay’s friend had bright blue hair and a red tube top with a short leather skirt and tattoo’s all over her body.
“I can’t get over you.” Tweet said smiling at Lindsay after shaking everyone’s hand. “You’re so vanilla in ya work gear.”
“Shut up.” Lindsay said her face turning pink.
“Ya need to let Shane see ya like this.” She said grinning and blowing a big bubble.
“Don’t call me vanilla.” Lindsay said embarrassed. “He’s seen me like this.” She said to her.
“Bullshit, he didn’t tell me.” She said blinking her dark black lined eyes.
“Are you trying to embarrass me Louise?” Lindsay asked smiling as Tweet cringed.
“You should invite your friends to Cold this weekend.” She said blowing another bubble.
“Yeah Montana you should invite us.” Danny said grinning at her.
“I’ve heard it’s a great place.” Stella said. “It’s hard to get in isn’t it?”
“Oh Elle can get you in.” Tweet said and Lindsay sighed.
“Can you Elle?” Flack said lifting his eye brow smiling.
“If you really want to go.” Lindsay said shrugging her face red.
“You should let your work friends meet us Elle.” Tweet said bending over to hug her. “Love you.”
“Love you.” Lindsay said shaking her head.
“Later vanilla Elle.” She said blowing Lindsay a kiss as she walked out the door.
“Not a word.” Lindsay said as Danny started to talk.
“I wasn’t gonna say anything.” He said grinning.
“Bullshit.” Lindsay said smiling. “She’s a little nuts.”
“What does she do?” Stella asked.
“She’s a dancer, she works in a coffee shop right now.” Lindsay said.
“How did you meet?” She asked.
“We went to the same dance school when I was 17.” Lindsay said waiting for the teasing to start.
“You trained to be a dancer?” Stella asked smiling.
“Yeah.” Lindsay said nodding.
“Wow, so did I.” Stella said. “I quit when I realized I sucked but I loved it. What did you do?”
“Everything, our troupe was hip hop and modern.” Lindsay said face red.
“When did you quit?” She asked.
“I was 19.” Lindsay said nodding.
“Why did you quit?”
“I got hurt.” Lindsay admitted and they all saw the flash of pain in her big brown eyes. “Couldn’t dance anymore.”
“That sucks.” Stella said cringing.
“Yeah but I wouldn’t be here and I’d probably be waiting tables, at least I can pay the rent.” Lindsay said shrugging. “And I can still go and dance with them and have fun, just not full time.”
“What did you hurt?” She asked.
“Shattered my ankle and left wrist.” Lindsay said reaching over to rub her wrist not even realizing she did it.
“How did you do that?” Sheldon asked. “Car accident?”
“No.” Lindsay said taking a deep breath. “I was dating this guy and he didn’t like that I danced, didn’t want me to leave Montana so.” She said hating to talk about it.
“Fuck.” Danny said cringing.
“It’s in the past.” Lindsay said quickly.
“Well I want to go with you to Cold.” Stella said smiling. “Since you can get me in.”
“You just tell me when.” Lindsay said smiling.
“How bout tomorrow?” She asked and Lindsay nodded.
“Can we all go?” Flack asked.
“You want to go?” Lindsay asked shocked.
“Sure.” Danny said. “Long as we don’t gotta dance.”
“Ok.” Lindsay said smiling. “If you want to.”
“I’m excited to see what non vanilla Elle looks like to tell ya da truth.” Danny said grinning.
“What are you wearing?” Stella asked excited.
“I have no idea.” Lindsay said grinning. “You?”
“I don’t know, can I come over and get ready with you?” Stella asked.
“Sure.” Lindsay said nodding.
“I can’t go, I picked up a shift.” Hawkes said sighing.
“’We can meet ya at Lindsay’s apartment and leave from there.” Flack said.
“Ok.” Lindsay said nodding.

“You look incredible.” Stella said smiling as Lindsay put on makeup in the bathroom mirror.
“You look really fantastic too.” Lindsay said smiling at Stella in tight blue jeans and a sparkly tight tank.
“So who’s the guy in the pictures?” She asked smiling as she watched Lindsay put on dark makeup.
“Tweet’s brother Shane, we’ve dated off and on for a few years.” Lindsay admitted. “He’s a dancer, a choreographer now.” She said and put on some lipstick.
“He’s really cute.” Stella said smiling.
“He’s complicated.” Lindsay said sighing. “Everytime I see him I’m sucked into this sleep with him vortex and he’s not a settle down kinda guy and I just end up getting hurt.” She admitted. “He’s a great guy and I have a blast with him but he cannot be faithful.”
“Honey that’s the only kind of man I find, the kind who want only sex.” Stella said smiling.
“Well the last time was sort of ugly.” Lindsay said turning around and leaning on the sink her black tight pants low slung her her slim hips. “He said he wanted to try a real relationship, so I said yes but he cheated, he was mean about it, made me feel like shit.” She admitted shrugging. “I didn’t even sleep with him the last time and I still ended up feeling ugly.”
“Stupid bastard.” Stella said.
“Yeah, I hope he’s not there tonight.” She said sighing and adjusting the top of her bright blue halter top that didn’t quite meet the waist of her pants and was low on her chest. “I don’t know why I let him back in.”
“We all do it sweety.” She said sighing.
“Yeah well the last time I saw him he said I would end up a lonely old maid and no man would ever want me.” Lindsay said pulling on her black strappy heels. “That makes it easier to stay the hell away.”
“Asshole.” Stella said shaking her head. “He knows better. You can have any man you want.”
“Not really.” Lindsay said rolling her eyes. “What I would give to be tall and blonde like my sister.”
“Tall is over rated baby.” Stella said smiling as she heard knocking on the door. “Trust me.” She said and Lindsay smiled.
“Will you get the door I’ll get the phone.” Lindsay said and Stella nodded as Lindsay ran into the kitchen to grab the land line phone. “Hello.” She said smiling.
“Hey what’s up?” Tiffy asked.
“Hey getting ready to go out.” Lindsay said smiling and grinning at the look on Danny and Flack’s face as they checked both of them out.
“Ok, repeat after me.” She said smiling. “I will not sleep with Shane.” She said.
“I won’t Tif.” Lindsay said sighing.
“Say it.” She said.
“I will not sleep with Shane.” Lindsay said softly.
“I will not sleep with Shane because he treats me like shit even if he’s a great lay.” She said smiling. “Say it.”
“I’m not saying that.” Lindsay said laughing. “You’re such a bitch.”
“I know.” She said smiling. “Seriously Linds pick up random tail do not let him back in.”
“I have no intentions of doing either of those things.” Lindsay said quickly.
“You never have the intention of letting him back in it just happens.” She said worried about her baby sister.
“Stop worrying, I’m not sleeping with Shane or anyone.” Lindsay said and then cringed as she realized how loud she said it. “I have to go.”
“Ok, love you bug.” She said.
“Love you too.” Lindsay said hanging up the phone.
“Anyone?” Danny asked grinning at her wondering who the hell Shane was.
“Anyone.” Lindsay said nodding.
“You girls look fuckin hot.” Flack said smiling at them.

“Holy shit look at da line.” Danny said as they piled out of the cab.
“Ya sure we’re gonna get in?” Flack asked throwing money at the cab driver and looking at the huge line.
“Come on.” Lindsay said leading them to the front and smiling at Travis.
“Elle.” He said waving her over and moving the barricade letting them in. “How’s my girl?” He asked as Lindsay stood tall and kissed him on the cheek.
“Good Trav how are you?” She asked.
“Busy night.” He said smiling at her and letting her go in.
“These are my friends.” Lindsay said.
“Welcome to Cold.” He said smiling and nodding as they brushed past him into the bar.
“Thanks.” Danny said brushing past the huge black man.
“We didn’t have to pay.” Flack said as Lindsay led them to a small table with 4 chairs.
“You can buy more alcohol that way.” Lindsay said smiling nervously as they sat down.
“This is a great place.” Stella said looking around watching people dance.
“Elle.” A tall thin guy with bright blonde hair said moving over near them.
“Hey Paully.” Lindsay said hugging him and kissing him on the cheek. “These are my friends from work.” She said introducing them. “Paul owns Cold.” Lindsay said as they shook his hand.
“Welcome.” Paul said and turned to Lindsay. “You better get your sweet ass out there.” He said nodding towards the dance floor.
“I will.” Lindsay said blushing.
“Will you do sexy back?” He asked smiling.
“No.” She said shaking her head quickly.
“Good I’ll tell them to play it next.” He said winking at her.
“Paully.” Lindsay said grabbing his arm. “Let Tweet.”
“Bullshit, you’re both out there, Shane’s here.” He said and Lindsay cringed as he grinned and walked away.
“What’s dat about?” Danny asked.
“He wants me to dance.” Lindsay said sighing. “No one gets to tease me.” She said glaring at them.
“No teasin.” Danny said nodding.
“Ok.” Flack said sighing and smiling.
“Shit.” Lindsay said as Paul started walking towards her.
“Hello.” Paul said grabbing her arm and dragging her out of her seat and pulling her out on the dance floor.
“I wanna sit this out.” Lindsay said nervously as Paul shook his head. “Bring sexy back baby.” He said winking at her as the music started. Lindsay smiled shaking her head as the girls lined up looking at the boys.
“You see these shackles baby I’m your slave.” She whispered mouthing more really the words to Shane as she danced close to him.
“Ya seein dis?” Danny asked as the girls danced all the same sexy moves moving close to the boys.
“Wow.” Stella said staring her eyes wide as she watched.
“I’ll let you whip me if I missbehave.” Lindsay sang rubbing against Shane as he grabbed her butt moving in to kiss her as she shook her head biting her bottom lip smiling at the other girls as they did the same thing twirling around and rubbing her butt against his crotch peeking back at him rolling her hips as he put his hands in her hair yanking her playfully back against him.
“Get your sexy on.” Shane mouthed sliding his hands up her bare belly pushing the shirt up as they moved together smiling as she pulled his head down and bit his bottom lip before pushing him away and dancing with the girls. “Get your sexy on.” Shane mouthed motioning with the other men for the woman to come back smiling sexily as they danced close then back flipped.
“Holy shit.” Danny said cringing as all of the girls did a back flip landing on their feet shaking their hips like they didn’t miss a beat.
“Look at those hips.” Shane mouthed yanking on Lindsay grinding against her as the song came to an end the beat drifting off softly. “That was fun.” He said lifting her to hug her wrapping her legs around his hips.
“Yeah put me down.” Lindsay said pushing at his chest as he carried her off the dance floor.
“Why?” He asked licking his lips.
“Don’t start.” Lindsay said sighing and looking up at him.
“Come home with me.” He said nuzzling her neck.
“Get off.” Lindsay said grabbing his face and pulling his head up.
“What the fuck?” He asked.
“Put me down.” She said squirming against him.
“Elle.” He said sighing as he let her down but still kept hold of her.
“I can’t.” She said shaking her head no.
“Why not?” He asked his bright green eyes staring into hers.
“Shane I have people here, just please don’t.” She said glancing over at the table where they were watching her.
“Ya came with a man?” He asked glaring at her.
“So what if I did.” Lindsay said glaring back at him.
“You know we’ll get back together.” He said touching her face.
“No.” Lindsay said shaking her head. “I can’t Shane every time I end up hurt.” She said pleading with her eyes for him to understand.
“We’re good together.” He said letting go of her hand as they walked back to her table.
“Yeah well Shane you’re good with half of New York.” She said face red.
“You know you still want me.” He said stopping at the table.
“Go.” She said hating that her co-workers were seeing this.
“Can I come by tonight?” He asked.
“Are you crazy?” Lindsay asked glaring up at him. “I am not sleeping with you.” She said firmly.
“I’ll be in your bed again.” He said winking at her. “You know why?” He asked kneeling down and whispering in her ear. “You can’t get enough of me, every time you say no and then you change your mind because we’re good together, you love when I’m inside you.”
“Get off of me.” Lindsay said pushing on his shoulder. “You can only have me.” She said shaking her head. “You can’t do that.”
“I can try.” He said softly still squatted beside her.
“You know, if you were half as good as you think you are I might have a problem.” She said glaring at him hearing the boys laughing.
“Keep telling yourself that Elle.” He said standing up. “I’ll call ya.” He said waving as he walked off.
“That was mean.” Danny said grinning.
“Sorry.” Lindsay said mortified that they had to witness that.
“We’ve all had bad relationships.” Flack said shrugging.
“Yeah but who keeps going back for more like me.” Lindsay said sighing. “He’s such an asshole.”
“It happens.” Danny said watching her.
“Why do men cheat?” Lindsay asked looking at Don and Danny.
“Not all men cheat.” Flack said smiling at her.
“Ok so you’re the exception, I’m serious.” Lindsay said taking her beer and drinking. “Is it that the woman isn’t good in bed?”
“I doubt dat.” Danny said shrugging.
“If that was the case he probably still wouldn’t be trying to get in your pants.” Stella said. “I’ve wondered the same thing.” She said nodding.
“It’s to bad I can’t look past the hundreds of girls he sleeps with and just have sex.” Lindsay said sighing again. “But I can’t, it wrecks your mind.”
“Boys are stupid.” Stella said smiling.
“Hey.” Flack and Danny both said.
“Let’s talk about something else.” Lindsay said sipping her beer.
“That dance was incredible.” Stella said smiling.
“I nearly died when ya flipped.” Danny said smiling. “My heart stopped.”
“Sorry.” She said smiling.
“How did ya do dat?” Flack asked grinning.
“The flip?” Lindsay asked smiling. “I don’t know, just did.” She said as he nodded.
“That’s a real woman who can do a backflip in 4 inch heels.” Stella said smiling and raising her beer to Lindsay.
“Cheers.” Danny said lifting his beer and clinking it against everyones.
“Flack remember when you were in narcotics and had to dress like a prostitute?” Stella asked grinning wickedly.
“Now we said we weren’t gonna mention dat ever again.” Flack said smiling.
“He couldn’t walk in the heels.” Stella said. “He had to practice for hours, he kept tipping over.” She said laughing.
“Oh god.” Lindsay said laughing. “I bet you were really tall with heels.”
“It was fuckin awful.” Flack said. “Then I had to chase my perp, in heels.” He said and they all cracked up.
“I’m exhausted.” Stella said leaning against Don as they made their way out of the bar at 1am.
“Me too.” Lindsay said smiling. She and Stella had danced a lot and her ankle was killing her.
“Ya alright?” Danny asked noticing the limp.
“Yeah.” She said nodding.
“We’re gonna have to walk.” Flack said seeing no cabs.
“Oh.” Lindsay said cringing. “Great.” She said sighing.
“Dan ya go wit Lindsay and I’ll go wit Stel?” Flack asked after they got to an intersection where they had to split and go separate ways.
“Yep.” Danny said nodding.
“You don’t have to walk me home.” Lindsay said looking at Danny.
“I know.” He said nodding. “I’m not to far from ya.” He lied.
“Ok.” She said laughing as she hugged Stella.
“I had a blast.” Stel said smiling brightly. “We’ll do it again sometime.” She said.
“I had fun too.” Lindsay said waving as she and Flack took off in the other direction.
“Ya ankle hurtin?” Danny asked a few blocks later as she slowed down.
“Little bit.” She admitted. “Stupid shoes.” She said face red.
“We got a long ways to go.” Danny said knowing there was at least 8 blocks left.
“I’m fine.” She said shrugging. “It doesn’t really ever bother me but I shouldn’t have done the flip.” She admitted.
“Here I’ll give ya a piggy.” He said stopping.
“No.” Lindsay said face red.
“Come on.” He said smiling. “Let me prove how strong and manly I am.” He said grinning. “It’s still like 8 blocks Lindsay.” He said and she rolled her eyes and jumped carefully on his back. “See dat wasn’t so hard.” He said smiling as he bounced her up and got a better hold on her legs.
“I feel bad.” She said wrapping her legs around his waist and loosly wrapping her arms around his neck. “You’re gonna hurt your back.”
“Ya weigh less than my nephew.” He said rolling his eyes.
“Right.” She said rolling her eyes.
“Seriously he’s a chunk, he’s 8 and he weighs a hundred pounds.” Danny said smiling. “He cracks me up, wants to be a line backer.” He said. “He’s tall too.”
“I don’t imagine you carry him around a lot.” Lindsay said yawning.
“Not much.” Danny said. “We wrestle though.” He said walking.
“I used to wrestle with my brother.” She said laying her head on her arm closing her eyes.
“He older?”
“Yeah his name is Jack and he’s an FBI agent I used to kick his ass.” She said smiling tiredly. “He deny’s it but he knows it’s true.” She whispered.
“That’s funny.” Danny said seeing her kicking ass. “Ya know I don’t doubt for a second ya could take most men.” He said smiling.
“I’m tough.” Lindsay said almost asleep.
“Yeah.” He said grinning as he turned the corner to her apartment. “Montana ya got company.” He said feeling her lift her head.
“Shit.” Lindsay said sighing seeing Shane sitting in front of her building.
“Am I interrupting?” He asked looking at the man carrying Lindsay.
“Actually ya are.” Danny said nodding.
“Shane go home.” Lindsay said moving to get off of Danny’s back but he kept a firm grip on her legs.
“Don’t try to convince me you’re bringing this guy home with you.” He said glaring at her.
“Why not?” Lindsay asked annoyed. “I can bring men home.” She said softly.
“You don’t do that.” He said shaking his head.
“You don’t know me.” She said shaking her head.
“Random men, I thought better of you.” He said and she sighed.
“I’m not random.” Danny said pissed off. “You lose man.” Danny said shaking his head.
“This is my replacement.” Shane said shaking his head.
“Should I be insulted?” Danny asked smiling back at Lindsay.
“No, you’re hot.” Lindsay said smiling back.
“You’ll be back.” Shane said shrugging.
“Doubt it.” Danny said. “I can keep my dick in my pants.” He said shrugging as he walked up the steps past him. “Ya should look into dat, I hear girls like it.” He said and Lindsay used her key to open the door in shock as Danny moved in letting the door slam behind him. “What floor?”
“2nd.” Lindsay said still in shock. “You don’t have to carry me up the stairs.” She said cringing as he started up the stairs.
“This is full service ride, wait til ya get da bill.” He said enjoying her company way to much.
“Thank you.” She said sighing.
“Yeah a cab would be cheaper.” He said grinning. “Apartment?” He asked.
“22.” She said laughing as he walked. “I thought you lived on the other side of town.” Lindsay said.
“Ok don’t get mad but I do.” He said smiling. “It’s not safe to be walkin around by yaself dis time of night.” He said stopping at her door and letting her down.
“Well thank you.” Lindsay said opening her door. “Come in and we’ll call you a cab.” She said and he nodded shocked that she invited him in. “They almost never come by here.” She said flipping on the lights and quickly taking off her shoes. “Yes.” She whispered wiggling her toes.
“Funny.” He said smiling at her.
“Here.” She said handing him the phone and rattling off the number for the cab company. He called and watched as she messed around in the kitchen. “Is it gonna be long?” She asked.
“Uh 30 minutes.” He said and she smiled.
“Ok, I’m gonna go change, coffee should be done in a minute.” She said and he nodded wondering if he should just go or if she wanted him to wait in her apartment. “Are you hungry?” She asked.
“I’m good.” He said and she smiled.
“Ok be right back.” She said moving into her bedroom closing the door. ‘What are you doing Lindsay?’ She asked herself as she changed into sweats. ‘It is not smart to get to close to Danny.’ She said sighing as she pulled on the pants and looked in the mirror. She liked him, he flirted and the longer time went on the more she thought he might like her but she just couldn’t get involved. ‘Get it together.’ She thought and took a deep breath and walked out into the living room. “You get coffee?” She asked and he nodded holding up a cop and smiling.
“Thanks.” He said sitting down on the couch.
“No thank you.” She said grabbing a cup and sitting on the other end of the couch. “So does Flack really live close to Stella or was he just walking her home?”
“He really lives close to er.” Danny said smiling. “I live kinda close to da lab.”
“I couldn’t afford to live close.” Lindsay said shrugging.
“Well I was 20 when I bought my apartment, at the time it was in a shit neighborhood and I paid almost nothing for it.” He said. “Next thing ya know we get a couple coffee shops and it’s da place to be.” He said and Lindsay smiled. “Only downfall is my neighbor Mrs. Washington, she’s old and frail and she refuses to go in a nursing home so the other day her son calls me, says mom is stuck in da bath tub and I’m 4 hours away can ya help.” He said cringing. “I think I was more embarrassed than she was but.” He said and Lindsay laughed. “So.” He said. “Ya think ya gonna stay in our city?”
“I love it.” Lindsay said smiling. “My family wants me home but I love it here, it’s so different.” She said smiling. “I miss the grass and quiet but I feel like this is home now.”
“Good.” He said smiling and nodding. “I better get.” He said looking at his watch. “I will see ya Monday.”
“Ok, thanks again Danny.” She said following him to the door and laughing as he handed her the coffee cup at the door.
“Guess ya want ya cup.” He said grinning.
“Yeah.” She said and he smiled and walked out the door.
“Ok lock up.” He said as he started down the hall.
“Be careful.” She said waving and closing the door. “Oh no.” She said leaning against the closed door. “You cannot like him.” She said to herself as she locked the door.

“Ya ready?” Danny asked a few weeks later as he and Lindsay were going to see their suspect.
“Yeah.” She said jumping up and pulling on her jacket.
“Stel said ya girls were goin out tonight.” Danny said as they made their way to the lobby to pick up their officer to go.
“Yeah she said you and Flack were coming?” She asked smiling at him.
“I’m on call so I can’t drink.” Danny said cringing inwardly seeing Jennifer standing in the lobby.
“We can still have fun.” Lindsay said.
“Have fun doing what?” Jennifer asked watching Danny.
“Oh we’re all going to Jake’s tonight.” Lindsay said smiling at her.
“Who’s all?” Jennifer asked.
“Well I think just me and Stella and Flack and Danny, you’re welcome to come.” Lindsay said noticing the tension.
“Am I welcome?” Jen asked Danny.
“We gotta go.” Danny said reaching for Lindsay’s elbow.
“I’m coming.” Jen said glancing down to where he was touching Lindsay.
“I thought ya were in da Bronx.” Danny said sighing.
“I’m back.” She said smiling. “We can take my car.” She said and Lindsay nodded feeling really out of place as she followed Danny. “How ya been Dan?”
“Good.” He said climbing into the back seat much to Lindsay’s shock.
“Aren’t you gonna ask me how I’ve been?” She asked looking back at him.
“How ya been?” He asked sighing.
“Miserable.” She said watching him in the rear view mirror.
“Dat’s to bad.” He said looking out the window.
“Our suspect’s prints were at the scene and he’s got quite a rap sheet.” Lindsay said feeling very out of place.
“Name?” Jen asked.
“Rufus Callerns.” Lindsay said reading the file. “He’s on parole for assault with a deadly weapon, works in the Stunt Tavern.”
“Name sounds familiar.” Jen said thinking.
“He’s been in and out of custody since he was 18.” Lindsay said handing Danny the file. “He’s a big guy but I just don’t see a connection, I mean what’s the motive?”
“Money, sex drugs.” Danny said shrugging. “We just haven’t found it yet.”

“Sorry.” Lindsay said to Stella as she looked up from her search for what type of fiber she found at the scene.
“It’s ok we’ll do it again soon.” Stella said waving as she walked out.
“Monroe.” Lindsay said answering her cell phone.
“Hey bug.” Tiffy said smiling into the phone.
“Hey, I’m still at work.” Lindsay said smiling.
“Well I have news.” Tiffy said practically dancing in her seat.
“You’re pregnant?” Lindsay asked smiling brightly.
“No.” Tiffy said laughing. “Timmy and I are getting married.” She said and sighed at the complete silence on the other end of the phone. “Well say something.”
“It’s just.” Lindsay said mind racing. “I mean Tif.” She stopped. “Congratulations.”
“Way to sound happy for me.” Tiffy said sarcastically.
“I’m happy if you’re happy I just didn’t know you guys were serious.” Lindsay said taking a paper from Danny. “You just had your first date and you’re getting married.”
“I love em.” She said smiling. “By the way we’re getting married in Vegas and momma is freaking out.” Tiffy said.
“Oh Tiffy.” Lindsay said sighing. “Listen I have to do some stuff and then I’ll call you when I get home.”
“Ok but mom is gonna call you I’m sure.” She said smiling.
“Great.” Lindsay said sighing. “Ok, love you.”
“Love you bug.” She said hanging up.
“We need to go back to the scene.” Lindsay said looking up at Danny as she clipped her phone to her belt.
“Dat’s what I was thinking.” Danny said handing her her coat and sliding his on. They both climbed in the lab SUV and Lindsay’s phone rang almost the minute she got her seat belt on.
“Monroe.” Lindsay said.
“Lee did you hear?” Sharon asked sounding close to tears.
“Oh momma it’s not the end of the world.” Lindsay said sighing.
“It’s bad enough that she’s set on marrying someone she just met but she wants to get married in Vegas!” Sharon said loudly.
“Momma she didn’t just meet him, we’ve known Timmy our whole lives.” Lindsay said rolling her eyes. “Don’t you think you’re being a little dramatic?”
“I knew you’d take her side.” She said close to tears.
“Momma I’m not taking sides but if you push her she’ll get pissed, who really cares if she gets married in Vegas, Tiffy isn’t normal.” Lindsay said smiling as Danny grinned stopped in traffic.
“I have 2 daughters and I’ll never have a wedding.” She said sadly.
“Thanks momma.” Lindsay said sighing heavily.
“Well honey you’re not getting any younger and I’ve completely given up on grandchildren at this point.” She said sighing.
“Mom I’m 28 I think I have a few good child bearing years left, you make it sound like my eggs are expired.” Lindsay said tapping her fingers on the window.
“Are you seeing someone?” She asked quickly.
“Momma.” Lindsay said making a face. “We should focus on how horrible Tiffy’s being about this.” Lindsay said cringing. “I think you should call her, I mean make her see reason.”
“You call her, she’s already mad at me.” Sharon said. “She listens to you.”
“Momma Tiffy doesn’t listen to me.” Lindsay said laughing. “What does daddy say?”
“Oh who cares what he thinks.” She said pissed. “We’ve been saving money for years in wedding accounts for you girls.”
“Really?” Lindsay asked shocked. “How much?”
“We’ve got about $25,000 for each of you.” Sharon said sniffling.
“Wow.” Lindsay said smiling. “What if we don’t get married can we have the money?” She said. “Wait, pretend I didn’t say that.” Lindsay said as Sharon started to get more upset. “Momma this isn’t the end of the world, maybe Tiffy will have grandbabies for you.”
“I doubt it, she said neither of them want kids, I’ll never be a grandma, you’re not even trying to find someone and even if you did you live in Godforsaken New York and I wouldn’t see them.”
“Momma New York isn’t the end of the world.” Lindsay said yawning.
“Promise you won’t get married in Vegas.” She said.
“I promise.” Lindsay said quickly. “I’m not getting married anywhere momma and if Tiffy wants to get married in Vegas I think you should be happy for her, when is it?”
“She said in a month.” Sharon said sniffling.
“Momma a month is a long time, she’s never stayed with a man for a whole month, she might change her mind by then, I thought it was sooner than that.” Lindsay said smiling as Danny fought laughter.
“Well you will be there right?” She asked.
“Yes momma I’ll come.” Lindsay said.
“Ok, I need to reserve rooms.” She said sniffling. “Will you stay at a hotel?”
“No momma I’ll stay with friends.” Lindsay said smiling.
“Who?” She asked.
“Probably Nick or Greg.” Lindsay said.
“You’re father will hate you staying with men.” Sharon said.
“Mother.” Lindsay said annoyed beyond reason. “Then he would have to talk to me and at this point who really cares if I disappoint him, tell him Nicky and I are gonna sleep in the same bed, he hates him anyway.”
“Lindsay Ann Monroe.” Sharon said loudly. “Nick is a nice boy, have you ever considered dating him?” She asked.
“Mom please, Nick is seeing someone.” Lindsay said. “Did you know that women all over the world survive without men?” Lindsay asked sarcastically.
“Can I just ask a question?” Sharon asked smiling lightly.
“What?” Lindsay asked.
“Have you had sex with Nick because he is so yummy.” She said and Lindsay laughed.
“You’re disturbed momma.” Lindsay said laughing. “No I haven’t and I can’t believe you use the word yummy.” Lindsay said smiling. “But Tiffy slept with him ask her how it was.”
“She is such a tramp.” Sharon said sighing. “I would have slept with him too if I was single, why don’t you sleep with him?” She said. “Wait pretend I didn’t say that.” She said and Lindsay shook her head. “I have a question.” She said thinking. “When we’re in Vegas would there be anyway I can take pictures of you and Nick, with his coloring it would be fantastic.”
“You are so strange.” Lindsay said shaking her head. “I’m gonna say no.”
“Why not?” She asked.
“Momma please and don’t you ask him.”
“Lee you guys, I’m seeing it in my head.” She said smiling. “White linens, would you be opposed to shooting topless with him?”
“Yes mother.” Lindsay said loudly. “I have to go, I’m at work and I can’t think about this right now.” She said sighing.
“I’ll talk to Nick, does your sister have his phone number?”
“I don’t know.” Lindsay said cringing. “Have him pose by himself.” Lindsay said.
“Ok, give me his number?”
“You won’t ask him what I think you’re gonna ask?” Lindsay said not really wanting Danny to know what she was talking about.
“I won’t, I’ll just ask him about shooting him.” She said.
“Ok, it’s 453-454-2663.” Lindsay said sighing. “Momma let me call and warn him first.” Lindsay said rubbing her temples.
“Ok well do it now.” Sharon said.
“I’ll warn him you’re calling.” Lindsay said biting her bottom lip. “Love you momma.”
“Love you bug.” She said hanging up.
“My mother is disturbed.” Lindsay said looking at traffic. “How long you think we’ll be stuck in traffic?” Lindsay asked looking over at him.
“I dunno, a while I’m thinking.” He said shrugging.
“Ok, I have to make a call, can you pretend not to hear?” She asked cringing.
“I can try.” He said smiling.
“Thanks.” She said dialing Nick and waiting while it rang.
“Hey baby.” Nick said smiling seeing her number on the caller ID.
“Hey, I have to talk do you have a minute?” Lindsay asked.
“Yeah what’s up?”
“Ok, first Tiffy is getting married in Vegas I guess next month can I stay with you?”
“Yes what’s next?” He asked smiling.
“Ok, momma started in and first she just asked me if had sex with you and I said no and she asked why cause you were yummy so I told her you had sex with Tiffy and then she came up with this idea.” Lindsay said stopping to take a breath knowing she was talking fast.
“Ok, what’s the idea?” He asked smiling.
“You know the pictures she takes?” Lindsay asked.
“The naked ones yeah I remember.” He said grinning wildly.
“Yeah well she wants to shoot us together and I told her no but she’s gonna call you and she promised to only ask you to shoot by yourself but you know momma so please say no.” She said face red.
“Hell no, we need to get naked and get our pictures taken.” He said grinning.
“Nick.” Lindsay said making a face. “Don’t screw with me, I’ve been on the phone with my mom I’m a woman on the edge.” Lindsay said.
“Lee, I’m yummy.” He said smiling. “You’re hot, we need to get naked and let nature take it’s course.” He said chuckling.
“Whatever, tell her no and I also lied and told her you were seeing someone so.”
“You want me to lie?” He asked sounding innocent. “Relax.” He said smiling. “I’ll take care of it, how ya doin?”
“I’m ok.” She said nodding. “You how’s things with Sara?”
“She’s still with Grissom, some things never change.” He said sighing.
“She’s blind Nicky.” Lindsay said softly. “Ok, I gotta go but I’ll let you know about the wedding stuff.”
“Can I go and be your date?” He asked smiling.
“You really think that’s smart?” Lindsay asked smiling. “I’ll take Greg, it’s best if I take someone that hasn’t had sex with my sister to her wedding.” She said.
“You sure Greg hasn’t?” Nick asked.
“She slept with Greg?” Lindsay asked shocked.
“I don’t know I’m kidding you, see you later Lee.”
“Bye Nicky.” Lindsay said hanging up. “Sorry Danny.” Lindsay said embarrassed.
“How long did ya work in Vegas?” He asked tapping his fingers on the steering wheel.
“A year.” She said. “They have some great people working there, it’s a lot like here I guess, Nick I uh I lived next door to him.” She said nodding.
“What kind of pictures does ya mom take?” He asked grinning.
“I thought you were gonna ignore my conversation.” She said face red.
“I said I would try.” He said grinning. “I couldn’t, so she takes naked pictures?” He asked watching her.
“They’re tasteful.” Lindsay said sighing. “Finally.” She said relieved as traffic started moving.
“Daniel what’s on your mind son?” Grace Messer asked her youngest as he sat on her couch after Sunday dinner.
“Nothin momma.” He said looking over at her.
“It’s a woman.” She said watching him. “You aren’t back together with Jennifer are you?” She asked looking worried.
“No.” He said shaking his head no.
“Tell me?” She asked watching him.
“There’s dis girl.” He said sighing. “She is not my type but I think about er.” Danny admitted. “She’s different.”
“Have you asked her out?” Grace asked smiling.
“No.” He said. “Jokingly, ya know teasing and I asked her to lunch a few times but she says no.” He said smiling and shaking his head. “I keep thinking about er and I shouldn’t.”
“Why is she seeing someone?” Grace asked watching him.
“I dunno, she don’t share about er life, I mean every once in a while she says something personal but mostly it’s just work.” He said shrugging. “I just need to get out, works been the shits and I’m stuck there all the time.” He said sighing. “Speaking of work I gotta get home, I’m on call at midnight.” He said standing up and stretching.
“We’ll talk more later.” She said standing up and kissing him on the cheek.
“Love you momma.” He said hugging her tightly.
“Love you son.” She said smiling at him. “See you next Sunday.”

“Just do it Lindsay.” She said to herself standing outside Danny’s brothers hospital room holding the tape recording she wanted him to hear. She knocked and walked in heart breaking seeing Danny sitting in a chair by the bed his eyes red rimmed and tired.
“Hey Montana.” He said glancing over at her and standing up.
“Hey.” She said smiling weakly at him. “I brought something for you to listen too.” She said nervously. “I’ll go, I’ll wait outside.” She said handing him the tape recorder.
“No stay.” He said holding it. “Ya gonna get in trouble.” He said looking up at her.
“It’s important.” She said softly and he nodded pushing play. He listened to the tape his heart breaking as he tried his hardest to hold in the tears finding out that his brother had saved him. “Sorry.” She whispered stepping close and hugging him tightly.
“Oh man.” He said wrapping his arms around her hugging her losing the battle as a few tears fell.
“Daniel.” Grace said bursting into the room her blue eyes full of tears.
“Momma.” Danny said clearing his throat and stepping back wiping his face.
“Oh Louie.” Grace Messer said leaning over to kiss her oldest on the forehead. “What happened?” She asked her long dark curly hair pulled back into a bun.
“I’ll leave.” Lindsay said to Danny. “If you need anything.” She said watching him.
“Thanks Lindsay.” He said nodding as she walked out.

“Danny.” Jennifer said softly touching his shoulder.
“What?” He asked speech slurred from the large amounts of alcohol he’d ingested since midnight when his brother died.
“Let me take you home.” She whispered cupping his cheek.
“Dat’s a bad idea.” He said shaking his head but kissing her back as she pressed her lips against his. “Fuck it.” He whispered standing up and letting her pull him out of the bar and down the street to her car. “My brother died.” He whispered staring out the window as she drove.
“Come on.” She whispered pulling him out of the car and up to his apartment taking his keys and opening the door pulling him into the bedroom and pulling his clothes off.
“My fuckin brother.” Danny said closing his eyes booze fogging his mind making him stumble as she pushed him down onto the bed.
“Danny try to forget.” She whispered moving down taking his soft penis into her mouth smiling as he got hard as she moved her mouth on him.
“I don’t want this.” He said eyes closed.
“Your body tells me different.” She said getting up and grabbing a condom and rolling it on him and sliding him inside her. “God baby I missed you.” She whispered moving against him.
“Fuck me and get off.” He said closing his eyes hating the sight of her on top of him riding him.
“Danny harder.” She whispered looking down at him.
“Fuck you Jen.” He said opening his eyes and glaring at her. “I fuckin hate you.” He said and she squeezed him inside her body. “Hate you.” He said flipping her over and thrusting deep inside her.
“Yes Danny fuck me hard.” She begged wrapping her legs around his waist gasping loudly as she got close to orgasm. “God yes there.” She yelled crying out as she came hard. “What are you doing?” She asked shocked as he pulled out throwing the condom off into the corner and grabbing a pair of sweats. “Baby you didn’t come.” She said looking at him confused.
“Dat’s the last fuck ya get from me.” He said glaring at her. “Now ya can’t say I left ya unsatisfied.” He said slamming the bedroom door and grabbing his keys and his jacket and shoes.
“Fuck you Danny.” She said jumping up and throwing her clothes on tears biting her eyes.
“Flack.” Don said grabbing his phone as he looked for Danny.
“Man I need a ride.” Danny said pacing outside of a closed liquor store talking on a pay phone.
“Where are you, we been looking for ya for an hour.” Flack said sighing.
“At 4th and Washington, I need some money.” Danny said rubbing his face.
“Ya by ya apartment right?” Flack asked.
“I can’t go there, I left Jen there.” He said sadly.
“Fuck Dan.” Flack said sighing. “I’ll be there.” He said sighing.
“We been looking for ya.” Flack said walking over to Danny who was standing in front of the store.
“Went to the waterin hole.” Danny said speech still slurred. “I fucked Jen.” He said sadly. “Fuckin whore, what the hell is wrong wit me?”
“Man let’s go, ya can stay wit me tonight.” Flack said sighing.
“Least tell me ya used a condom.” He said leading him to the car.
“Yeah I didn’t come.” He said staggering. “I told her it was the last time. She couldn’t say I left her unsatisfied.” He said tripping and almost falling.
“Bet she was pissed.” Flack said opening the back door helping him in.
“She don’t fuckin care.” Danny said laying down on the seat. “She never said anything, not sorry bout ya brother, nothing.” He said closing his eyes.
“Flack.” He said answering his phone and starting the car.
“Is he with you?” Jennifer asked pacing in Danny’s apartment.
“What the fuck business is it of yours.” Flack said so mad he could hit something.
“Fuck you Flack it is my business.” She said loudly.
“I want ya to listen to me close ok.” Flack said taking a deep breath. “Ya the worst kind of whore and Dan’s to nice to tell ya how he really feels.” He said looking back making sure Danny was asleep. “Ya destroyed enough if ya have any decency ya’ll stay away.”
“He fucked me, I didn’t do anything wrong.” She said sighing.
“If ya not out of his apartment by morning I’m having ya arrested and I mean dat.” Flack said hanging up and sighing.

“Hi.” Lindsay said stepping into the large kitchen finding Danny’s mom cooking. “Can I help?”
“Sure.” She said sniffling and handing Lindsay some onions to chop. “You’re Lindsay right?”
“Yeah.” Lindsay said nodding. Mac had brought the team to Staten Island for Danny’s brothers funeral and most of them seemed to have found someone to visit with but Lindsay was a little left out.
“I don’t feel like being out there.” Grace said needing to stay occupied. “All those people, they think they know how I feel.”
“I cook when I’m upset.” Lindsay said chopping the onion.
“Takes my mind off things.” Grace said watching the young girl.
“I make cookies.” Lindsay said smiling weakly.
“How is my Daniel doing?” She asked softly as she stirred a huge pot.
“I don’t know.” Lindsay said honestly. “He’s kinda distant.” She admitted.
“He’s blaming himself.” She said sadly. “The cold facts are that my oldest knew what he was doing.” She said and Lindsay nodded.
“I think Louie was proud of himself.” Lindsay said softly. “I didn’t know him but I heard a tape.”
“You’re very smart.” Grace said watching her. “Thank you for not asking how I was doing?”
“Silly question.” Lindsay said chopping some carrots.
“Tell me about yourself?” She asked standing by her chopping tomatoes.
“I’m from Montana, I’ve been here about a year.” Lindsay said smiling. “Your son picks on me.”
“Does he now, well that must mean that he likes you.” She said smiling tiredly.
“Momma.” Danny said walking into the kitchen shocked to find Lindsay and his mom cooking and smiling.
“What?” She asked looking up at him.
“Momma there’s tons of food.” He said looking at the food she was fixing.
“Makes me feel better.” Grace said sighing. “Do you think more garlic?” Grace asked lifting the spoon to Lindsay’s mouth.
“I think it’s perfect.” Lindsay said smiling at her.
“Lindsay and I are getting to know each other.” Grace said as Danny sat down at the end of the counter. “Those people, they look at me like they expect a meltdown, we are fine in the kitchen.” She said smiling at Lindsay.
“I see dat.” Danny said watching as Lindsay chopped vegetables working beside his mom in the kitchen.
“Where’s your father?” She asked.
“I think da garage.” Danny said sighing. “Momma in a million years ya won’t get through all dis food, we don’t even have a freezer big enough to freeze it.” He said looking at the food laying around the kitchen.
“You’re right.” She said looking around tears filling her eyes.
“You can have someone take it to the homeless shelter.” Lindsay said quickly. “That’s what I do.” She said and Grace looked up. “I also send boxes of cookies to the soldiers in Iraq.” She said smiling. “They probably think I’m crazy.”
“That’s a fantastic idea.” She said hugging Lindsay. “How do we take it?”
“We can wait send someone to the store for disposable dishes, they’re pretty cheap, we can put the pasta in huge throwaway foil pans.” Lindsay said smiling at her. “We’ll make it work.”
“Do you think there’s enough?” Grace asked looking around.
“I think so.” Lindsay said smiling. “They’ll be so excited.” Lindsay said stirring the pot of boiling pasta. “Maybe there’s a shelter here.”
“Daniel get the phone book.” Grace said and he got up and walked into the hall by the phone bringing the phone in and handing it to Lindsay.
“Ok.” Lindsay said grabbing her cell phone and dialing a number.
“Loving Hands.” A man said.
“Yes my name is Lindsay Monroe, do you take food donations?” She asked.
“Food that’s already cooked?” He asked.
“Yeah I donate to Ladies of the Cross and we had a lot of Italian food and we didn’t want to waste it.”
“You’re the cookie lady.” He said smiling.
“Yeah I’m the cookie lady.” Lindsay said turning red.
“Well generally we don’t take food that out of the package but I’ve had your cookies and I know you’re not gonna poison us, how much food are we talking?”
“How many people are you feeding?” Lindsay asked.
“Fifty.” He said.
“You won’t have to cook supper.” Lindsay said smiling.
“Fantastic, I can come get it, we’ll bring our dishes if you’d like or I can bring the dishes back you have my word on that.”
“Hang on.” Lindsay said telling Grace what he said. “As long as you’ll return the dishes that’s fine.” Lindsay said.
“You have my word, I’ll be right over, where do I go?” He asked.
“Just a minute.” Lindsay said handing the phone to Danny.
“Thank you.” Grace said smiling at Lindsay.
“No problem.” Lindsay said smiling at her. “Those homeless people won’t know what hit them eating your food.” Lindsay said smiling as they hurried together to finish the food left on the stove.

“Morning.” Danny said a few days later as he walked into the lab waving absently at people and walking to his office shocked that Lindsay wasn’t there, she was always early.
“Danny we have a scene.” Mac said sticking his head in.
“Where’s Lindsay?” Danny asked standing up grateful Mac didn’t ask how he was doing.
“She went to Vegas for a wedding.” Mac said and Danny nodded remembering her talking about her sisters wedding. “Good to have you back.” Mac said and Danny nodded grabbing his stuff and following him out.

“Morning.” Danny said on Monday as Lindsay walked into their office smiling.
“Morning.” She said putting her stuff down. “You’re early.”
“Yeah.” He said nodding and looking at his computer. “We have a scene.” He said and she nodded.
“I’m running seriously behind today.” She said clipping her badge onto her black slacks and checking her gun.
“You have a good time in Vegas?” He asked as they drove to the scene.
“I did.” Lindsay said smiling. “My sister didn’t get married.” She said laughing. “She’s so wild, she met a guy on the plane.”
“Wow.” Danny said shocked.
“Which was ok because her fiance didn’t show up.” She said shaking her head. “We had a blast anyway.”
“Did ya let ya mom take pictures?” He asked and she turned beet red.
“I thought you’d forget about that.” Lindsay said looking out the window.
“Nope, so come on spill?”
“She took a few.” Lindsay said smiling still red.
“Do I get to see them?” He asked.
“Not a chance.” She said quickly.
“Why not?” He asked grinning. “Ya said they were tasteful.”
“Tasteful but still naked.” She said sighing. “Are you busy this weekend?” She asked nervously.
“Nope, you wanna go out?” He asked winking at her.
“My sister is coming for a visit and wanted to meet the people I work with so I thought we could go out.” Lindsay said so nervous.
“Sounds good I’m in.” He said nodding. “What does she do?”
“She an attorney.” Lindsay said smiling. “Think of some good laywer jokes she loves that.” She said. “She’s so different from me, I’m a little scared for you guys to meet her.” Lindsay admitted.
“Why is dat?” He asked.
“She shares to much, she’ll flirt constantly.” She said shrugging. “She’s great but she’s a little nuts.”

“Lindsay you have a visitor.” Mac said smiling as he brought Tiffy to her office Friday afternoon.
“Ahhh.” Lindsay said jumping up and grabbing Tiffy hugging her. “What are you doing here, I was supposed to pick you up.” Lindsay said smiling at her.
“Court got cancelled so I hopped an earlier flight.” She said smiling. Danny looked at the tall beautiful blonde and was shocked that she was Lindsay’s sister, she had bright blue eyes and stick straight hair and you could tell with one look she was a maneater.
“Danny this is my sister Tiffany, Tif this is Danny.” Lindsay said and Tiffy walked over and shook his hand.
“He’s cute are they all this cute?” She asked Lindsay grinning.
“Pretty much.” Lindsay said blushing.
“Ok, I have something for you can I stay for a minute?” She asked grinning.
“Sure, we’re just doing paperwork.” Lindsay said shrugging.
“Here.” She said handing her a package.
“What is it?” Lindsay asked nervously.
“It’s good it’s for your desk.” Tiffy said grinning wildly.
“Am I gonna be embarrassed?” Lindsay asked watching her cautiously.
“Maybe, open the fuckin thing.” Tiffy said rolling her eyes.
“Fine could you not cuss in here.” Lindsay said tearing open the paper. “Oh my god.” Lindsay said covering the frame. “You couldn’t wait til we were home?”
“Nope, isn’t it great?” Tiffy asked grinning.
“What is it Montana?” Danny asked dying of curiosity.
“Nothing.” Lindsay said so red she felt hot.
“Show it to him.” Tiffy said smiling at her.
“No.”
“Yes.” Tiffy said.
“No.” Lindsay said glaring at her.
“You don’t see nipple.” Tiffy said sighing.
“Where did you find this anyway?” Lindsay asked looking at the picture of her and Tiffy on the beach in the Bahamas topless in white bikini’s.
“Mom’s got a show coming up and we were looking through pictures and I had forgotten she took it.” Tiffy said grabbing it from her.
“Hey.” Stella said walking in smiling.
“Stella this is my sister Tiffy, Tif this is Stella.” Lindsay said smiling.
“I’ve heard a lot about you.” Stella said smiling.
“It’s all true.” Tiffy said grinning. “See what I got Lee for her birthday.” She said handing the picture to Stella.
“Wow.” Stella said staring at the picture.
“Nice Monroe.” Flack said walking behind Stella looking at the picture.
“Oh god.” Lindsay said jumping up and grabbing the picture glaring at Tiffy.
“Now dat’s not fair that Flack got to see and I didn’t.” Danny said looking at Lindsay.
“I can get you a copy for your spank bank.” Tiffy said grinning at Danny.
“Oh my god.” Lindsay said covering her face. “Go.” She said to Tiffy.
“What’s wrong bug?” Tiffy asked smiling.
“I need alcohol.” Lindsay said cringing.
“Brought the pictures from Vegas too.” Tiffy said winking. “The ones of you and Nicky turned out hot.”
“Please leave.” Lindsay said so embarrassed she wanted to die.
“How long ago was dat picture taken?” Flack asked grinning.
“4 years.” Lindsay said cringing. “Can you pretend like you didn’t see that?”
“Nope, sorry but now I’m gonna see ya like dat every time I close my eyes.” He said grinning.
“Linds, if I looked like that naked I’d have the picture up on my wall in my office.” Stella said smiling.
“I’m not naked.” Lindsay said cringing.
“Ok topless.” Stella said winking at her. “See you guys tonight.” She said walking out and pulling Flack with her.
“I’m gonna hurt you.” Lindsay said to Tiffy.
“You love me.” Tiffy said standing up. “I have to go shop.” She said smiling and hugging her sister. “Show Danny the picture.” She whispered.
“Go.” Lindsay said pushing her. “Ok back to the case.” Lindsay said putting the picture in the drawer. “So our vic had this strange rash on his back.” Lindsay said looking at the pictures. “Wait.” She said smiling. “Let’s go back to the scene.” She said grabbing her purse.
“Ok.” Danny said following her. “What’s up?” He asked as Lindsay walked the block near where their body was found.
“Look at this.” Lindsay said walking into a nail salon. “Do you wax?” Lindsay asked the woman at the desk.
“Yes.” She said.
“Can I see the room you do that in?” Lindsay asked and she nodded leading her and Danny to a back room.
“Montana what are ya thinking?” Danny asked watching as she walked around the small room.
“What if our vic got waxed?” Lindsay asked.
“There was nothing to indicate dat when we processed.” Danny said looking confused.
“Ok but he has that rash, this room is clean but he was hit in the head before he died.” She said thinking. “Sid said that he probably walked a few blocks at best before he died. If the rash was from getting waxed then this was probably where he was hit.” She said and Danny nodded. “Can you take off your shirt?” She asked looking at the vat of wax.
“Uh why?” He asked looking confused.
“We’ll wax you and see if you have the same bumps as the man.” Lindsay said.
“No.” He said. “I’ll wax you.”
“I don’t have any hair to wax.” Lindsay said and turned beet red. “I mean like hair on my arms is so, well I don’t really have much.” She said looking. “Come on Danny take one for the team.” Lindsay said smiling at him.
“Does it hurt?” He asked nervously.
“Not bad.” She said shrugging. “You’re telling me women all over do this to really sensitive areas and you won’t let me wax a little spot on your chest or back?” She asked hands on her hips.
“I don’t have back hair.” He said cringing and reaching for the buttons on his shirt. “Just a small area.” He said pulling off his dress shirt and cringing again. “Do ya know what ya doing?” He asked.
“Yes.” She said lying. “Lay down.” She said smiling and he pulled off the white wife beater and layed down looking nervous. “Ok.” She said trying not to focus on the smooth muscles or the happy trail of dark hair leading into his pants. “Just, try to hold still or something.” She said dipping the brush in the wax and putting it over his left pectoral painting a spot about 4 inches by 4 inches. “Ok.” She said grabbing the paper and sticking it on.
“Can we not?” He asked cringing.
“Don’t be a baby.” She said nervously. “I’ll take it off quick, why don’t you take a deep breath.” She said.
“Wait.” He said. “You do this I get to see da picture.” He said licking his lips.
“No.” She said.
“Then I’m getting up.” He said moving her hand.
“Fine, you’ll be disappointed.” Lindsay said pushing him down. “On the count of three.” She said. “One, two, three.” She said and ripped the paper off.
“Fucking hell.” He yelled at the top of his lungs jumping off the table and grabbing his chest. “Stop.” He said glaring at her as she sunk down to the floor laughing hysterically.
“Sorry.” She said tears streaming down her face as she laughed.
“Fucking hell dat hurt.” He said looking at the red spot.
“You, o, oh ok.” She said trying to stop laughing.
“No.” He said making a face as he looked at it.
“I’m sorry.” Lindsay said taking deep breaths and standing up. “Wow.” She said looking at the strip she still held. “You look a little uneven.” She said bursting into laughter again. “Want me to do the other side?”
“No.” He said rolling his eyes. “Look.” He said looking at his chest. “Red bumps.” He said and she smiled grabbing her phone to snap some pictures.
“Ok, we need to find out who waxes.” Lindsay said wiping her face and throwing the wax strip away. “That was great.” She said sighing.
“Glad ya enjoyed yaself.” He said rolling his eyes and wincing as he pulled on his shirt. “How the hell do ya do dat?” He asked cringing. “Hurts like a sonavabitch.”
“It doesn’t hurt after the first time.” Lindsay said smiling. “Really.”
“So Montana, ya get everything waxed?” He asked watching her.
“I’ll never tell.” She said shaking her head turning her head as he unbuttoned his pants to tuck his shirt in. “I think it’s safe to say that whoever waxed this man was probably the one who killed him.” Lindsay said looking around. “Danny.” She said bending down to look at the heavy metal trash can turning it around. “I have blood and hair.” She whispered grabbing some gloves and bagging the evidence. “We’ll have to take this with us.” She said and he nodded waving the woman in.
“Who does the waxing?” He asked the short red head.
“Mave.” She said looking confused.
“Can we take this?” Lindsay asked looking at the trash can.
“I guess, is she in trouble?” The woman asked.
“Can we talk to her?” Lindsay asked.
“She’s at lunch due back anytime.” The woman said.
“We’ll wait.” Lindsay said grabbing the can and following Danny out of the room.
“That’s her right there.” The woman pointed to a tall thin blonde woman who was setting her stuff down.
“Mave?” Danny asked and she looked up and turned around running. He took off catching her before she got to the door and pinned her on the ground. “Now why ya running?” He asked cuffing her and standing her up.
“He deserved it.” She yelled. “He groped me, I wax that’s it.” She said and Danny rolled his eyes and Lindsay came over patting her down and handing him the can.

“So.” Danny said walking into their office where Lindsay was finishing paperwork so they could leave.
“She booked?” Lindsay asked without looking up.
“Yep, I believe you owe me something?” He asked grinning.
“It’s on your desk.” She said rolling her eyes.
“Yes.” He said running over and plopping down picking up the frame. “Holy shit.” He said looking at the picture. Lindsay had longer hair and it was wet and covered her naked chest and it was black and white and you could even see the grains of sand clinging to her flat belly. She was holding her sisters hand and Tiffy had her other arm crossed over her chest. Neither of them were smiling and Lindsay looked so sexy he couldn’t stop looking at her in the tiny white bikini bottoms.
“Told you you’d be disappointed.” Lindsay said logging off her computer.
“What?” He asked looking up shifting in his seat praying she didn’t look at his crotch.
“Gimme it.” She said face red.
“I’ll let ya wax the rest of me if I can keep it.” He said licking his lips not wanting to give it back.
“You get your area waxed and you can keep it.” Lindsay said smiling wickedly.
“Oh god I can’t imagine how bad that hurts.” He said cringing. “How will ya know if I do it?” He asked grinning.
“Oh.” She said thinking. “You’ll walk funny, I can have Flack check.”
“No.” He said making a face. “I’m not getting nothing waxed.” He said making a face as she grabbed the picture putting it in her bag.

“Let’s play I never.” Tiffy said late that night when it was just Danny, Flack Stella, Lindsay and her left.
“Oh Tif.” Lindsay said sighing.
“Ok you drink if you’ve done it.” She said to everyone. “I’ll start.” She said grinning. “I’ve never been arrested for indecent exposure.” She said and Lindsay cringed and glared at her lifting the beer to her mouth taking a drink.
“Oh Montana.” Danny said laughing. “What did ya do?”
“Nothing. “Lindsay said. “I’ve never kissed a girl.” She said and everyone drank but her.
“I’ve never waxed my pubic area.” Danny said grinning.
“Asshole.” Lindsay said as all three girls drank.
“Dis is very informative.” Danny said grinning.
“I never had sex in a car.” Flack said and everyone but him drank.
“I never had a baby.” Stella said and no one drank.
“I never had sex in my childhood home.” Tiffy said and Lindsay and Flack both drank. “How long has it been since you guys have had sex?” Tiffy asked.
“4 months.” Stella said quickly.
“Bout a week.” Flack said.
“Month.” Danny said.
“Long time.” Lindsay said turning red.
“No fair.” Tiffy said. “Since Shane?”
“Yes.” Lindsay said.
“That’s been like 2 years.” Tiffy said shocked. “Can I just ask was he good, cause he looks like he would be.”
“Oh god I must be drunk.” Lindsay said sighing. “He’s ok.” She said shrugging.
“Just ok?” Tiffy asked looking confused.
“Yeah.” Lindsay said embarrassed.
“You should sleep with Nicky, he’s a great lay.” Tiffy said leaning back in the booth.
“Tiffy.” Lindsay said face red.
“What momma told me he got hard during your pictures, you should have helped out with that or at least called me.” She said grinning.
“I’m gonna hurt you.” Lindsay said cringing.
“Look.” Tiffy said grabbing her purse and handing her a photo album.
“Put this away.” Lindsay said trying to stuff it back into her purse.
“I wanna see.” Danny said grabbing it from her and holding it above her head.
“I took out the bad ones.” Tiffy said smiling.
“Let me look first.” Lindsay said and he let her have it. “Oh god.” Lindsay said cringing at the first picture of her hair spread out over Nicks belly. “Oh you can look at this one.” She said cringing.
“Wow.” Danny said smiling as he showed it to Flack and Stella.
“Oh my god he is yummy.” Stella said grinning.
“Ok, let me see it.” Lindsay said flipping through the pictures and sticking it in her purse. “Sorry I really don’t want my co-workers seeing me like this.” Lindsay said and Danny nodded not sure he wanted to see her all snuggled up with another man.
“I took naked pictures once.” Stella said. “I was dating this guy who I thought was prince charming but I came over one day and he was sitting on the couch with his friend and they were looking at them.” She said shaking her head. “I was furious.”
“You can’t see our faces in most of the pictures.” Tiffy said. “Momma likes to shoot body parts together, we both made a lot of money.” She said and Lindsay nodded. “She has a guy who pays 5 grand for pictures of Lindsay’s feet, he says they’re innocent.” She said and they all laughed.
“I know it’s weird.” Lindsay said shrugging.
“She gives us half so.” Tiffy said. “Lindsay’s pictures sell much better than mine, people say she looks innocent.”
“I am innocent.” Lindsay said smiling.
“Yeah.” Tiffy said smiling and wrapping her arms around her. “You better not let momma see Danny and Flack or she’ll have you naked with them in no time.” She said.
“I’d like to meet ya mom.” Danny said smiling. “How much does she sell her pictures for?”
“It depends.” Lindsay said. “Sometimes as much as $10,000.”
“For a picture?” Flack asked shocked.
“She has a website.” Tiffy said and Lindsay shook her head. “Oh stop, you can look at the pictures, I have business card.” She said hanging all of them a card.
“Don’t worry we won’t be able to afford pictures.” Flack said looking at the card.
“Besides I doubt they’ll be able to tell who you are.” Tiffy said shrugging. “My mom is kinda famous for her pictures.” She said smiling proudly. “Daddy likes to say she shoots family portraits.” She said grinning. “He doesn’t know she’s taken pictures of me and Lee.”
“He’s just delusional.” Lindsay said sighing.
“Remember when I got my boobs, how upset he was.” Tiffy said grinning. “Momma saw how pissed he was and she stuffed her bra with socks and came in and he hit the roof, she told him he was always wanting her to save money and they were offering a buy one get one free.” She said and everyone cracked up.
“He said you desicrated your temple.” Lindsay said cracking up.
“I told him I did that when I was 15.” Tiffy said laughing hysterically.

“Danny take Lindsay home.” Stella said and he nodded not sure he would be able to let her go as he led her down the stairs and down to the car.
“Ya alright?” Danny asked as she buckled her seat belt.
“Yeah.” She said nodding her ears still ringing and her heart pounding. He drove like a madman parking and jumping out.
“I’m comin up.” He said wrapping his arm around her shoulders walking with her up the stairs.
“Can’t stop shaking.” Lindsay said trying to take the protective vest off.
“Here.” He said reaching over to take it off his heart still pounding. “Ok.” He said throwing it on the couch and grabbing her holding her tight. “I was so scared.” He whispered rubbing her back as she clung to him.
“Me too.” She said choking on a sob.
“Hey it’s ok.” He whispered kissing her head sighing as the smell of her hair intoxicated him making him crazy.
“Danny.” She whispered as he rested his hands on her hips his lips near her ear.
“Yeah.” He said softly lost in a sensual haze that he prayed she felt. She looked up at him and he licked his lips seeing passion and need blazing in her eyes. He leaned down and lightly pressed a kiss to her cheek moving his lips down along her jaw moving his hands up to cup her face as she turned her head giving him better access to her neck. She reached up and grabbed his face pulling him up and pulled his head down to kiss her hard on the mouth and he stepped forward pressing them against the wall as the innocent kiss turned almost desperate as they devoured each others mouths unable to get close enough. Lindsay slid her hands inside his tee shirt lifting breaking away from his mouth long enough to rip it off kissing again as he slid his hands inside her shirt needing to feel her skin on his more than he’d ever needed anything in his life. She pulled at the hem of her tank top and pulled it off gasping as he pulled her hips against his erection his hot mouth on her neck as he pressed her against the wall.
“Get these off.” She said breathlessly as she worked on his belt needing him naked.
“Want you.” He whispered kissing her again sighing as she slid her tongue into his mouth still working at his jeans.
“Want you too.” She whispered breathlessly as she broke away for air pushing at his jeans gasping as he nuzzled the tops of her breasts as he kicked off his shoes and pants leaving them on the floor reaching for the button on her slacks smiling as she kicked them off and pulled his head up kissing him again. He reached around cupping her butt lifting her against him her legs wrapping around his waist as he carried her to her bedroom yanking back the covers and setting her down letting her pull him down on top of her their lips never breaking contact. He broke away lightheaded from lack of oxygen and she pushed at his boxers and he moved off of her yanking them down and setting his glasss down looking over watching as she kicked her panties off reaching for the clasp to her bra with one hand pulling him back over with the other hand. “Don’t stop.” She said eyes shiny.
“Not stopping.” He said pulling the bra off and closing his eyes. “Perfect.” He whispered bending to take a pretty pink nipple into his mouth rolling it between his teeth.
“Danny.” She whispered breathing labored. “I need you.” She whispered wrapping her legs around his hips.
“Me too.” He said looking in her eyes making sure she was into this before he slid the tip of his hard penis inside her. “Oh god.” He whispered as she arched her hips against him sliding him in deeper. “So good.” He whispered nuzzling her neck and thrusting lightly sliding all the way inside and holding still for a second as she pulsed around him.
“Feel so good.” She whispered running her nails lightly down his back and moving, urging him on.
“Yes.” He whispered pulling back and thrusting back in trying to be gentle but having trouble holding on since she was so hot and small. She gasped and whimpered moving to meet each thrust. “God Lindsay.” He gasped as she squeezed him almost making him come.
“Danny god.” She gasped loudly whimpering as she came her body squeezing him as she moved against him.
“Ohhh.” He whispered thrusting hard spilling inside her not able to hold off as she came. “Ya ok?” He asked breathlessly afraid he’d hurt her.
“Yeah.” She whispered body limp as she let her legs down her muscles quivering. He rolled them over and pulled up the blankets feeling like he should say something but not sure what to say.
“I didn’t use anything.” He said softly then rolling his eyes realizing that probably wasn’t the best thing to say.
“I’m on the pill, I don’t have any diseases.” She said softly rolling to his side pulling up the blankets.
“I don’t either, the department tests us, I always use a condom.” He said watching her. “Well I guess except for dis.” He said sighing. “I don’t regret what happened.” He said softly.
“I don’t either.” She said nodding.
“It’s kinda been coming doncha think?” He asked and she nodded. “Listen I know ya tired we can talk about what dis means later.” He said and she nodded smiling.
“I am tired.” She said sighing.
“Can I stay?” He asked watching her.
“Yeah, you don’t have to.” She said smiling.
“I want to.” He said smiling. “I gotta get up and get my phone though I’m on call.” He said sighing.
“Will you bring mine?” She asked yawning.
“Yeah.” He said jumping up and walking naked into the living room turning off the lights and locking the door grabbing both of their phones and clothes and bringing them into the bedroom.
“Can you leave the hall light on?” Lindsay asked as he moved to shut it off.
“Yeah.” He said moving back into the nearly dark room and handing her her phone and setting his by his glasses climbing back into bed scooting close and smiling as she snuggled into him sighing almost asleep.
“It’s your fault they’re dead.” Cole Monroe said glaring at her looking around standing in the middle of Kelly’s blood. “You did this Lee, I’m so disappointed.” He said.
“Daddy I didn’t mean to.” Lindsay said sobbing as she sank to her knees putting her hands on the floor feeling the sticky blood on her hands.
“Take care of her.” Cole said and Lindsay looked up at the man covered in blood holding the shot gun to her head. “Goodbye.” Cole said shaking his head.
“No.” Lindsay yelled.
“Lindsay.” Danny said sitting up in bed shocked by her scream.
“Oh god.” Lindsay said shaking and crying. “Sorry.” She said breathing heavy as she realized she was dreaming.
“It’s ok.” He said reaching up to rub her back. “Ya wanna talk about it?” He asked his voice thick from sleep.
“No.” She said shaking her head. “I’m ok.” She said taking deep breaths and laying back down. She looked over at the clock sighing it was only 1am. “I’ll be back.” She said and he nodded drifting back to sleep. She grabbed a long tee shirt from the closet pulling it on and pulling the bedroom door almost shut so she wouldn’t wake him up and she walked into the kitchen.
“Montana.” Danny said walking out into the kitchen at 6 am finding her pulling cookies out of the oven.
“Hi.” She said feeling silly.
“Did ya sleep?” He asked looking at the dozens of cookies all over the kitchen and small dining room.
“Yeah.” She said nodding.
“Is it because I was here?” He asked watching her.
“No.” She said sighing. “I.” She stopped. “Sometimes I have bad dreams, I can’t sleep so I make cookies.” She said opening her freezer showing him how full it was.
“Wow.” He said shocked. “Anything I can do to help?”
“No.” She said shaking her head and scooping the hot cookies onto a cooking rack.
“Ok.” He said nodding. “Can I have a cookie?” He asked smiling at her.
“You can have a lot of cookies.” She said nervously. “Want some milk?”
“Sure.” He said nodding. “I have to work.”
“I’m off today.” She said pouring him a glass of milk and handing it to him.
“Damn.” He said chewing. “This is the best cookie I ever had.” He said smiling.
“Thanks.” She said smiling as she scooped more dough onto the pan. “Eat all you want, I’m taking what’s in the freezer to the shelter today so I’ll have room for this.” She said hoping he didn’t think she was an idiot.
“What’s in em?” He asked.
“Lot’s of things, chocolate chips, toffee, m&m’s.” She said shrugging. “Depends on what I have in the cabinet.” She said sitting down.
“I gotta go if I’m gonna be on time.” He said grabbing another cookie and devouring it. “You ok with us?” He asked worried.
“Yeah.” She said smiling. “You?”
“Yeah.” He said nodding. “We gotta talk sometime.”
“I know.” She said sighing. “I work Saturday.”
“We’re both off Sunday.” He said. “Will you go out to lunch wit me?” He asked.
“Sure.” She said nodding. “I’m on call.”
“So am I.” He said shrugging. “Wanna meet at Tino’s at noon?”
“Sure.” She said nodding.
“Ok, lemme get dressed.” He said grabbing another cookie as he ran into the bedroom. “Ok.” He said coming out a few minutes later dressed in his clothes from the day before.
“Here.” Lindsay said handing him a Styrofoam cup of coffee and a ziplock baggie full of cookies.
“Ya a good woman.” He said smiling and stepping close nuzzling her neck. She stepped up on her tippy toes and kissed his jaw smiling as he kissed her softly on the lips scooting them back so he could set his stuff on the cabinet and moved his hands up to cup her face kissing her harder. “Ok.” He said breaking away for air. “Gotta go.” He whispered licking his lips.
“See you later.” She said blushing as he rubbed her back.
“Monroe.” Lindsay said late that afternoon.
“Honey I need you to sit down.” Tiffy said softly.
“What’s wrong?” Lindsay asked heart racing. “Is it daddy?”
“No, no one died.” She said sighing. “We found the guy Linds.” She said and Lindsay sank down onto the floor heart thudding painfully in her chest.
“What, how?” She asked voice tight.
“Some people turned a gun into the police department, the officer that took the gun found blood on it and he remembered your case, they dusted it for prints and found a print on the trigger, his name is Daniel Cadence, he lived in that house and honey it’s him.” She said softly. “His prints were all over the crime scene and they matched his DNA.” She said softly.
“Oh my god.” Lindsay said shaking.
“They’ve arrested him but they want you to do a line up, I talked with the DA, they’ll do it online on Monday with you, baby you’ll have to come back and testify.” Tiffy said.
“I can’t.” Lindsay said feeling vomit rising in the back of her throat.
“You can.” Tiffy said. “You need to be strong.” She said firmly. “I know you’re scared but I know you’re tough and you can do this.” She said fighting tears. “I know it’s awful but once it’s over you can move on with your life.”
“I have to go, I’m fine I just need to call you back later.” Lindsay said hanging up and running to the bathroom.
“Monroe.” Lindsay said late that afternoon.
“Hey.” Danny said smiling.
“Hi.” She said softly.
“What’s wrong?” He asked since it sounded like she was crying.
“Nothing.” She said swiping at the tears she couldn’t seem to stop.
“Ya sound like ya crying.” He said softly.
“Just got some stuff going on.” She said taking a deep breath. “I’m fine.”
“Ok, ya want me to come over?” He asked worried.
“No, I’m just tired, goin to bed.” She said closing her eyes.
“Ok, well I’ll talk to ya later, if ya need something ya call.” He said walking into his apartment.
“Bye.” She said hanging up and curling back up on her bed sobbing brokenly into her pillow.

“What’s on your mind?” Grace asked Danny as he stared at the tv without watching it.
“I’m so damn confused.” Danny said jumping up and pacing. “So Lindsay and I.” He stopped. “I think we finally get our shit together, and it was incredible momma, I mean I thought it was and then she like I don’t know.” He said sighing. “She tells me she can’t be wit me, dat she’s trying to deal wit some stuff and she likes me but right now she can’t.” He said slamming his fist into the couch. “What the hell does dat mean?” He asked shaking his head. “How did I fuck dis up, oh sorry.” He said cringing.
“Maybe she is going through something.” Grace said softly. “Did she tell you what she was dealing with?”
“No.” He said shaking his head. “I tried, I mean I tried to be all understanding, I know she’s upset about something but she won’t talk to me, I guess she don’t trust me.” He said plopping down on the couch.
“Maybe she’s afraid.” Grace said. “I don’t know Danny but I know that she’s a good girl, she gave me comfort, in a way that only a person overly familiar with loss could do.” She said tears in her eyes. “Do you love her?”
“Yes.” He said nodding. “I know it’s messed up and soon and she probably don’t feel da same way but I can’t stop thinking about her, I’d do anything to make er feel better.” He whispered.
“When did you know?” Grace asked smiling.
“Dat day, when she was in da kitchen wit ya.” He said glancing back up at her. “Doesn’t matter, she don’t want me.” He said sighing.
“What did she say?” Grace asked.
“She said she liked me a lot, but she had to deal wit some things she thought were in her past, that she was sorry and she didn’t mean for this to happen.” He said.
“What did you say?” She asked.
“What could I say?” He asked shaking his head. “I told her if she needed anything I was here.”
“That was the right thing to say.” She said getting up and sitting by him grabbing his hand. “Give her time.”
“What if she’s never ready?” He asked.
“Daniel you’ve waited 31 years for this woman to walk into your life, give her some time.” She said smiling. “You’re so impatient.” She said squeezing his hand. “Be there for her, don’t push her but make sure she knows that you’re there.”
“I never felt like dis momma, I thought wit Jen we had something but wit Lindsay it’s just different, it’s like I can’t breathe good without er.” He said feeling stupid.
“Give her time.” Grace said smiling at him.

“Lindsay you ok?” Stella asked.
“Yeah.” Lindsay said nodding as she looked up at her.
“Honey don’t take this the wrong way but you look terrible.” She said watching her.
“I’m fine Stel.” Lindsay said taking off her gloves and hurrying out of the room going up to the roof.

“Monroe.” Lindsay said as she and Danny and Flack walked back from their scene to the car.
“Lindsay it’s Chad Valentine from Channel 12 news, I was wondering if I could interview you?” He asked quickly.
“Stop calling me.” Lindsay said pissed off hanging up her phone.
“Ya alright?” Danny asked as she sighed and hurried to the car.
“Yes.” She said climbing in the back and laying her head back so tired physically and mentally she could barely think straight.
“So ya think dis girl could be some sorta stripper?” Danny asked looking out the window as Flack drove.
“Are there any strip clubs around here?” Lindsay asked trying to focus on the case.
“Not really.” Flack said looking around. “There’s a bar about a block away, I’ll check it out while you guys do ya scientist thing.” He said smiling as he pulled into the lab.
“I have to run an errand is that ok?” Lindsay asked looking across the street as she talked.
“Sure.” Danny said nodding wishing once again she’d open up and talk to him.
“Tell Mac I’m at lunch will ya?” She asked waving as she raced across the street into a cell phone place.
“Hey Montana.” Danny said late that evening as they were finishing up their case.
“Yeah.” She said looking up.
“Ya friend Tweet kinda looks like a suicide girl.” He said smiling trying to bring her into conversation.
“You’re right.” Lindsay said smiling tiredly. “I’m whipped I think I’m going home.” She said standing up.
“Yeah me too.” He said nodding.
“I have a new cell phone number, I’ll call you so you can save it.” She said grabbing her new phone and calling him smiling as it rang and he picked it up.
“Got it.” He said saving it. “Ya wanna grab some supper.” He said then put up his hands. “Sorry, givin ya space.” He said forgetting for a minute.
“I’m sorry Danny.” She said all of a sudden fighting tears. “I just can’t afford to fall apart.” She said and grabbed her jacket hurrying out.

“You’re not getting much work done staring at the wall.” Grace said stepping into Danny’s office.
“Mom.” He said shaking his head and getting up to hug her. “What are ya doin here?” He asked smiling tiredly at her.
“Well you won’t come to me so I’m coming to you.” She said sitting across from his desk. He’d been picking up all the extra shifts he could so that he didn’t have to think about Lindsay and he’d missed 3 weeks of Sunday dinner.
“Sorry works been crazy.” He said sighing tiredly. “Let’s get out of here.” He said grabbing his jacket and waving at Mac.
“So.” Grace said as they sat across from each other at a small diner. “Why have you been avoiding me?” She asked sipping her coffee.
“I’m not, I guess I’m avoiding life.” He admitted. “Lindsay left.” He said clearing his throat. “She had a case she has to testify for in Montana.” He said shrugging. “She’s been gone 3 weeks.”
“Did she speak with you before she left?” She asked.
“Nope.” He said shaking his head. “Here’s the thing, she gave everyone hugs and I don’t know if she told em or anything but she left me a card, she didn’t even see me before she left.” He said pulling the card out of his pocket and throwing it on the table.
“Have you called her?” Grace asked looking at the card knowing by the wear on it that he must have read it a million times.
“No.” He said rubbing his face. “I don’t know what to do.” He said sighing.
“Call her.” She said smiling. “Right now, just to let her know you’re thinking of her.” She said and he opened his phone looking at it for a minute. “Come on.” She said grinning.
“Fine.” He said hitting her number and letting it ring for a long time before hanging up. “She didn’t answer.” He said rubbing his face. “Oh my god.” He said as Home by Daughtry started playing. “That’s her ringtone.” He said grabbing the phone from the table. “Hello.” He said heart racing.
“Hey, it’s Lindsay I was in the shower when you called.” She said heart racing to hear his voice.
“How ya doin?” He asked smiling.
“I’m ok.” She said fighting tears. “You?”
“I miss ya.” He said hoping it wasn’t the wrong thing to do.
“I miss you too.” She said voice cracking with tears. “It’s so hard here.” She said swiping at her tears. “I just want to come ho home.” She said choking on a sob.
“What can I do?” He asked heart breaking.
“Nothing.” She said sighing tearfully. “I’m just being a baby.” She said sitting on the couch. “I thought you hated me for giving you a card.”
“No I don’t hate ya, I was confused.” He admitted.
“Danny.” She said clearing her throat. “I wouldn’t have been able to come if I had to say goodbye to you, I had to be strong.” She said pulling her knees up and hugging them. “I’m, I’m just rea really sorry I hurt you.” She said crying.
“God.” He said softly. “Hey don’t worry bout me, I’m fine and when ya get home we’ll talk but ya gonna be fine.” He said blinking back tears.
“Thank you.” She said sniffling. “Sorry it was just a rough day, I testify Wednesday and I’m so nervous and I’m not sleeping.” She said sighing.
“Lot’s of cookies huh.” He said smiling.
“You have no idea.” She said laughing. “It’s good to hear your voice.” She said sniffling.
“Yeah it’s good to hear ya voice too.” He said smiling. “Come home soon ok?”
“I will.” She said smiling. “Bye Danny.”
“Bye.” He said hanging up. “She cried, made me almost cry.” He said clearing his throat. “She just said she was havin a rough time.” He said and Grace nodded.

“Go wit your instincts.” Danny said out loud picking his keys back up and hurrying back out the door. He got to the airport and bought the ticket so tired he could barely see straight and then realized he didn’t bring anything with him. He walked to one of the stores and bought a duffle bag and some very high priced toiletry items and broke out his credit card to buy several days worth of clothes since he hadn’t packed. He walked to the gate and picked up his phone dialing Mac.
“Taylor.” He said.
“Mac, I need a few days off.” Danny said nervously. “I know it’s short notice but something came up.” He said praying Mac would understand. “Ya there?” He asked cringing after about 30 seconds of silence.
“Take until next Wednesday.” Mac said sighing. “Hey Danny.” He said smiling.
“Yeah Mac.” Danny said looking around.
“Bring her home with you ok?” He asked and Danny laughed.
“Ya I’ll try.” He said hanging up and sighing tiredly.

“Come on Danny.” Lindsay said listening to his phone ring and finally to his voice mail. “Hey it’s me, I am getting ready to go in, I fell apart yesterday and I was just wanting to hear your voice, anyway it’s almost over so, have a good day.” She said hanging up feeling like an idiot.
“Lindsay.” Heather the DA said waving her into the court room.
“Ms. Monroe, what happened after you heard the last shot.” Mike Peters another attorney asked.
“I sat there with my ears covered for a long time.” She said trying not to look at the man that ruined her life and took her friends lives.
“Ms. Monroe.” He said and she looked up and her heart stopped for a minute seeing Danny walk into the courtroom. “Ms. Monroe.” He said again and Lindsay blinked and looked over at him.
“I don’t know how long I sat there and I remember thinking that the water was still running and I hoped he couldn’t hear it. I got up and I don’t know what I was thinking but I opened the door a crack and I saw a man.” She said taking a deep breath. “Covered in blood holding a shot gun.” She said blinking back tears and looking over at Danny, staring into his blue eyes.
“Do you see that man in the courtroom?” Mike asked.
“Yes.” She said. “He’s sitting right there in the gray suit.” Lindsay said looking over at Daniel Cadence.
“What happened next Lindsay?” Mike asked.
“I waited until I heard the bell over the door and I walked out.” She said clearing her throat. “I saw my friends laying in blood, I saw the waitress laying by the register.” She said losing the battle as a tear fell down her cheek. “I knew they were dead so I went to the phone and I called 911.” She said quickly.
“Thank you Ms. Monroe.” Mike said sitting down.
“Ms. Monroe, if you saw and knew what was going on why didn’t you try to help your friends?” The other attorney asked.
“I was scared.” Lindsay said softly looking down at her hands.
“That’s it?” He asked sarcastically.
“Your honor?” Mike asked shaking his head.
“Do you remember this drawing?” The attorney asked holding up a scetch.
“Yes.” Lindsay said nodding.
“Does this look like Daniel Cadence to you?” He asked.
“Not exactly like him.” Lindsay admitted.
“Yet this is the man you said you saw at the time of the murders.” He said.
“No.” Lindsay said. “I told the artist that it wasn’t quite right.” Lindsay said. “They stopped.”
“No.” The attorney said. “Nothing further.” He said sitting down.
“Redirect your honor.” Mike said standing up. “Why did they stop the scetch?” Mike asked.
“We worked on it for a long time but I kept freaking out.” Lindsay admitted tears in her eyes. “To remember what he looked like just really bothered me.” She admitted. “They finally just decided it upset me to bad and they had fingerprints and stuff so.” Lindsay said shaking.
“No further questions.” Mike said sitting down.
“Ms. Monroe you may take your seat.” The judge said and Lindsay nodded standing up and slowly walked over by Danny leaning into his side taking deep breaths trying to relax.
“Your honor the defense rests.” The attorney said.
“Ok, court is adjourned we’ll reconvene when the jury reaches a verdict.” He said banging his gavel.
“Lindsay.” Mike said waving her over.
“Come on.” Danny said holding her close walking with her out the back door and down a hall.
“I’m gonna have you wait in here for a little bit, I don’t think they’ll take long.” He said and Lindsay nodded watching as he shut the door.
“Oh god.” Lindsay said gripping the front of Danny’s shirt as he pulled her close. “I wanted you here.” She said choking on a sob.
“Ya did so good.” He whispered rubbing her back.
“They had to stop yesterday.” She said lifting her head and wiping her face. “I lost it.” She said touching his face tears still falling. “I can’t believe you’re here.” She whispered.
“Me either to tell ya da truth.” He said smiling tiredly. “Here sit ya about to fall.” He said pulling her onto a bench beside him. “Are ya mad I’m here?” He asked worried.
“No.” She whispered. “I wanted to ask you, but Danny.” She said taking a deep breath. “I was afraid if I had anyone here I would fall apart so I didn’t let my family or anyone come and I think they were relieved but then yesterday I just.” She stopped tilting her head back trying to stop crying. “I can’t do it by myself.” She said shaking her head.
“Ya don’t have to.” He whispered close to tears. “Who said ya had to do it by yaself?” He asked watching her.
“I don’t know, I was afraid if I leaned on someone I would lose it, that I’d be to dependant I guess.” She admitted shrugging.
“We’ll talk about it later, just relax a little.” He whispered leaning back and pulling her close. “We got a lot of talkin to do but it can all wait.”
“I’m so tired.” She whispered closing her eyes. “I haven’t been sleeping.”
“You and me both.” He said leaning his head against hers. “God I missed da smell of ya hair.” He whispered content to just sit there quietly. They both jumped as the door opened.
“The jury’s back.” Heather said smiling.
“It hasn’t been long.” Lindsay said shocked.
“15 minutes.” She said. “That’s very good for us.” She said smiling. “Come in and have a seat, when it’s over do you have a car here?”
“I have my rental.” Danny said as Lindsay shook her head no.
“If you give me the keys I’ll have someone pull it around back so you can avoid the press.” She said and he nodded giving her the keys and walking with Lindsay back into the court room sitting down as it filled up.
“Have you reached a verdict?” The judge asked. Lindsay looked up at Danny and reached over grabbing his hand heart pounding.
“Yes your honor.” The blonde woman said standing up. “In the matter of the state of Montana versus Daniel Cadence we find him guilty of murder in the first degree.” She said and the courtroom went wild.
“Oh.” Lindsay said closing her eyes and leaning her head on Danny.
“Sentencing will be one week from today.” The judge said banging the gavel.
“Come on.” Danny whispered standing up holding Lindsay’s hand moving to lead her out but she smiled and pulled him close reaching up to kiss him but blinking as flash bulbs went off as the reports ran into the room yelling for her. “Come on.” He whispered smiling as he pulled her out the back moving towards a door.
“Congratulations.” Heather said hugging Lindsay tight.
“Thanks.” Lindsay said hugging her back and taking a deep breath.
“Couldn’t have done it without you.” She said smiling at both of them. “Your cars out back.” She said and Danny nodded taking her hand again and leading her out the door and to his blue Pontiac rental.
“I have to call my mom.” Lindsay said reaching into her purse and turning on her cell phone dialing.
“What?” Sharon asked heart pounding.
“Guilty.” Lindsay said smiling. “It’s over.”
“Oh baby I’m so glad.” Sharon said bursting into tears.
“Me too momma.” She said laying her head back. “Momma will you call everyone for me I’m going home to rest I’m exhausted.” Lindsay said sniffling.
“Yes, call me later baby.” She said smiling. “I love you.”
“Love you momma.” Lindsay said hanging up. “Can you stay?” Lindsay asked looking over as Danny drove around.
“Yep, I called Mac from da airport, he said to come back Wednesday and bring ya wit me, I didn’t tell him but apparently I haven’t been worth shit without ya.” He said smiling.
“My house is down this street.” Lindsay said smiling.
“I can rent a hotel, I’m not here to pressure ya.” He said looking over at her.
“I’d like you to stay with me.” She said looking at him.
“Ok.” He said smiling. “How far down dis street?” He asked.
“Bout 10 miles.” Lindsay said smiling tiredly. “My mom was so upset that I didn’t stay with them but I needed some space, my dad.” She said softly. “He hates me for moving and I just couldn’t handle dealing with his silence.” She said yawning.
“Ya kinda live outside of town.” Danny said looking around.
“Yeah.” She said smiling. “I have a pond behind my house, I love laying out there on the hammock, it’s to cold now but it’s my favorite place.” She said mind fuzzy with exhaustion. “You look tired.”
“I’ve been workin a lot, I’ve been up for about 38 hours.” He said blinking a few times.
“It’s over there.” Lindsay said pointing at a small dirt driveway.
“It’s nice.” He said smiling at the small white house.
“Thanks.” She said smiling as he stopped the car. “It’s small and I’ve thought about selling it but I like to visit.” She said getting out and watching as he grabbed his bag and followed her into the small house. “Nap first, then I’ll show you around.” She said leading him up the stairs to a large yellow bedroom with a huge king sized bed. “I’m gonna change.” She said grabbing the tee shirt she had hanging on the back of the door and walking into the bathroom changing and walking into the bedroom pulling back the covers and looking at him. “You wanna lay down?” She asked.
“I get to lay wit ya?” He asked kicking off his shoes.
“Yes.” She said smiling tiredly.
“I’m so freakin tired my mind isn’t working right.” He said pulling off his shirt and kicking off his pants and socks and climbing tiredly into the huge bed. “Dis is a nice bed.” He said flipping onto his back and stretching.
“Here.” She said reaching over to take off his glasses and scoot close laying her head on his chest. “This ok?” She asked pulling up the covers.
“More than ok.” He said smiling as his eyes drifted closed.
“No!” Lindsay yelped shooting straight up in bed heart racing tears streaming down her pale face.
“Hey.” Danny whispered sitting up blinking to get his eyes to adjust to the dark room. “Ya alright?”
“Yeah.” She said nodding. “I’ll be back.” She said jumping up and running to the bathroom and looking in the mirror.
“Hey.” Danny said seeing her walk out of the bathroom her hair wet and in another long tee shirt fresh from the shower.
“Hi.” She said smiling tiredly. “You hungry?” She asked.
“Little bit.” He said nodding.
“Ok, I’m gonna go make us something.” She said and he smiled.
“Can I use ya shower?” He asked.
“Sure.” She said nodding and running down the stairs flipping on the radio and pulling stuff out of the fridge for sandwiches. “Hey.” She said smiling as he walked down a while later wearing a tank top and a pair of shorts.
“Hey.” He said smiling at her.
“Danny.” She said pulling him over.
“What?” He asked looking at her funny.
“Did you just buy these clothes?” She asked pulling a price tag off the shirt.
“Yeah at da airport, it was a spur of the moment thing.” He said shrugging.
“This tee shirt was 49 dollars.” She said shocked.
“Yeah well.” He said shrugging. “It’s like one of those commercials.” He said grinning. “Last minute flight to Bozeman Montana, 1300 dollars, clothes at the airport because you didn’t bring any, 511 dollars, the look on Montana’s face when I walked into the courtroom.” He said smiling. “Priceless.” He said softly.
“What did I do to deserve this?” She asked watching him.
“Ya deserve so much more.” He said cupping her face in his hand.
“We should eat before you kiss me cause we’ll get sidetracked.” Lindsay said smiling.
“Ya think?” He asked smiling.
“Depends on hungry you are.” Lindsay said smiling and sitting down at the table.
“I’m pretty hungry.” He said licking his lips and picking up the sandwhich. “Ya think ya’ll be able to sleep tonight?” He asked eating.
“I hope so.” She said nodding and picking at her food. “I guess I thought that maybe it would be over and they would stop.” She admitted.
“Maybe it takes time.” He said watching her.
“I hope.” She said nodding. “Danny if I keep you awake with my dreams I have a spare bed you can sleep there.” She said eyes cloudy with worry.
“Lindsay.” He said looking at her. “I want to sleep wit ya, I’m in love with you.” He said and she looked up shocked. “I know it’s soon and I guess ya get dat I’m not good wit dis givin ya space thing but I want to be wit ya.” He said staring at her.
“I love you too.” She whispered. “Finish your sandwhich Danny.” She said smiling.
“Why’s dat?” He asked smiling.
“Cause you’re gonna need your strength.” She said smiling at him. “You’re about to get lucky.” She said and he laughed stuffing the sandwhich in his mouth hurrying.
“Ya gonna eat?” He asked looking at her sandwhich as he drank some of his water to wash his down.
“I’m not real hungry.” She said getting up and sitting on his lap. “Say you love me again?” She whispered.
“I love ya Lindsay.” He whispered back sliding his hand up her neck and pulling her head down kissing her softly. “So much.” He whispered breaking away for breath.
“Sounds good.” She said smiling and laughing as he stood up picking her up and flipped off the light carrying her upstairs. “Whoa.” She laughed as he tossed her on the bed pulling off his shirt and kicking off his shorts climbing on the bed kissing her feet and working his way up to the backs of her knees.
“Ya so beautiful.” He whispered unable to believe he was here with her.
“You make me feel it.” She said shivering with pleasure as he nibbled on her bare thighs sliding his hands up to the hem of the shirt. She smiled and sat up pulling at the shirt.
“Montana ya forgot ya panties.” He whispered kissing her flat belly rubbing his facial hair on her soft skin. “Kills me dat ya didn’t have em on while we were in da kitchen.” He said smiling up at her. He knelt down and lifted her knee sliding his tongue along her clit smiling as she gasped loudly hips arching towards his mouth as she whimpered. He smiled and continued with his tongue sliding a finger inside her tight body.
“Oh god Danny.” She gasped shaking as she came hard her breathing labored. “Please.” She begged pulling on his head. “You don’t have to do that.” She whispered as he kissed her.
“I want to, I don’t wanna miss anything.” He whispered and she smiled.
“It’s not our only time.” She said cupping his face.
“Promise?” He asked eyes cloudy with worry.
“I love you so much Danny.” She said smiling. “We’re definetly doing this again.” She said and he smiled kissing her gasping as she wrapped her legs around him brushing against him. “I want you inside me.” She whispered biting on his bottom lip eyes bright with need.
“I love you.” He said sliding inside her closing his eyes as she gripped him in her body. “So perfect.” He said opening his eyes and looking at her. She arched against him and he pulled out reaching down to her hip with one hand anchoring her as he thrust inside her.
“God Danny that’s so good.” She whispered as they moved together straining for release as the tension thickened in the dark room the only sounds being whispered words of love and small whimpers and gasps of pleasure. “Danny.” She gasped clenching around him as she came her body tense as he gently bit her neck as she rode out the intense orgasm.
“Lindsay god baby.” He gasped unable to wait any longer, thrusting one last time spilling inside her. “Oh.” He gasped muscles quivering as he held himself off of her so he wouldn’t crush her. “Ya ok?” He asked looking down at her.
“Yeah.” She said breathlessly laughing lightly as he flipped them so that she lay on top of him. “Danny.” She whispered still catching her breath utterly exhausted.
“Yeah.” He said breathlessly.
“I love you.”
“I love ya too.” He said smiling as he rubbed her naked back. He reached down with his toes and grabbed the sheet pulling it up over them.

“Mmh.” Lindsay moaned waking up curled on her side Danny pressed tightly to her back skin on skin. She sighed and looked up and cringed seeing her mom standing in front of the bed with her camera. “No.” She said softly shaking her head.
“Baby sleep more.” Danny moaned wrapping his arm tighter around her belly.
“Danny my mom’s here.” Lindsay said and he sleepily opened his eyes glancing over cringing.
“I’m Sharon.” She said smiling and letting the camera fall down to her chest smiling brightly at him.
“God mother you’re so embarrassing.” Lindsay said shaking her head looking down to make sure they were mostly covered.
“I just came to check on you.” Sharon said beaming her dark curly hair pulled up into a loose pony tai. “I didn’t know you’d be in bed with a man.”
“Can you go home?” Lindsay asked yawning.
“Honey I wanted to talk to you about something.” Sharon said smiling. “Don’t move.” She said grabbing her camera.
“No mom.” Lindsay said yanking the sheet up to cover both of them shifting onto her back. “Can you please be normal?”
“Is this a one night stand because that’s ok.” She said and Danny had to smile at the absurdity of it.
“No mom it’s not a one night stand.” Lindsay said her face red.
“Oh good, I’ll go make coffee, you don’t have to get dressed if you don’t want.” She said grinning as she turned and walked down the stairs.
“That was embarrassing.” Lindsay said and Danny laughed.
“A little.” He said kissing her quickly. “Not the way I would have imagined meeting ya mom.” He said laying his head on her chest for a minute.
“If we don’t get down there she and the camera will be back.” Lindsay said playing with his hair.
“Ok.” He said nodding and sitting up. “Regrets?” He asked looking down at her.
“Not one.” She said staring at him.
“Me either.” He said smiling and getting up pulling on his shorts from the night before.
“Nice ass Messer.” Lindsay said grinning as she stood up and grabbed her tee shirt pulling it over her head.
“Nice everything Monroe.” Danny said trying to will the beginning of an erection away.
