Hungry Like the Wolf

A/N: In Greek, the name Autolycus means "lone wolf". A very fitting name for our favorite thief. But even a lone wolf can take a mate. "Hot Summer Night" belongs to Jim Steinman. "Hungry Like the Wolf" belongs to Duran Duran. "Little Red Riding Hood" is a very old, often retold tale recorded by Jakob and Wilhelm Grimm. Joxer and Autolycus belong to Renaissance Pictures, and in this story, to each other.

It was a hot summer night when Autolycus and Joxer made camp for the night. Even after the sun set, it was still warm enough to encourage the two lovers to strip down to nearly nothing. They had been together as a couple for almost two months. There was still much one had to learn about the other, but they were both eager students.

Joxer had gone to sleep with his head pillowed on Autolycus' shoulder. He awoke late in the night to the sound of a mournful howl. "Auto? Auto!" He nudged his lover awake.

"What?" he mumbled, not opening his eyes.

"Do you hear that?" Joxer said nervously as another howl split through the night.

"Yeah. It's a wolf howl. Go to sleep." He prepared to do that himself.

"If there's wolves around here, maybe we should move?" Joxer strongly suggested.

"Joxer," Autolycus sighed. "Wolf howls carry pretty far. They might be a mile or so away. We'll be fine."

Joxer shuddered as he heard another long howl. "Auto? How fast can wolves run?" _And can I run faster?_

Autolycus sighed. It looked like he wasn't going back to sleep any time soon. "Jox, listen, those wolves are probably more scared of you than you are of them."

"I don't think that's possible, Auto!"

"Joxer, wolves are afraid of people. They won't come near us."

"You sure? I mean, if we're just lying here, they might think we look good to eat."

"Joxer, let me tell you the truth about wolves. The truth is, they're pretty misunderstood animals. Yeah, they can be dangerous, if they think you're going to hurt them or their mate or their cubs. But, for the most part, they'll leave you alone if you leave them alone."

"So, what's with all the howling?"

"That's how they tell other wolves where they are. Check this out." Autolycus stood up, cupped his hands over his mouth, and let loose an imitation of a wolf's howl. Another wolf howled back. "See? You try it."

Nervously, Joxer stood, licked his dry lips and did a weak copy of Autolycus' howl. "No, no, you gotta do it louder than that." said Autolycus. Joxer tried again. "C'mon, a little louder. You're the singer here, you can do it. Just take a deep breath and let it all go!" Joxer let out a long, loud howl. Two wolf howls answered. "See?" Autolycus patted him on the back and lay back down. "Not so scary when you can talk back to them."

"No, I guess they're not." Howling had been kind of fun actually. He settled down next to Auto.

"Wolves get bad press." Autolycus said. "Shepherds lie about the ferocity of the wolves they drive off like fishermen lie about how big the one that got away was. And those fairy tales about them don't help."

"I didn't hear many fairy tales growing up." said Joxer. "Dad said they were for wimps. Why don't you tell me one?"

"I don't know. Fairy tales always put wolves in a bad light and I'm trying to tell you they're not that scary."

"Please?"

"How old are you again?" Joxer gave him the patented "puppy eyes" look. "Oh, alright. Let's see if I remember one." Autolycus only needed a moment to think. "OK. Once upon a time, there was a little girl who always wore a red cloak, so everyone called her Little Red Cloak."

"What about when she wasn't wearing the cloak?"

"She usually wore the cloak. Anyway, one day, Little Red Cloak was walking down a path through the woods to take a basket of food to her grandmother when she came across a big wolf. 'Good day, Little Red Cloak.' said the wolf. 'Where are you going today?'"

"Wow! A talking wolf!"

"It's a fairy tale. In fairy tales, animals talk and no one thinks anything of it. Little Red Cloak said 'I'm going to take this basket of food to my sick grandmother. She lives just down the end of this path.'

"The wolf smiled at Red and said 'Don't you think your grandmother would like some pretty flowers? There's some over there, just off the path.'

"Well, Red looked at the flowers and decided she'd stop and pick a few. While she was doing that, the wolf turned and ran towards grandmother's house. He knocked on the door and the old lady said 'Who is it?' and the wolf said 'It's your granddaughter, Little Red Cloak. I've brought you a basket of food.'

"'Well, open the latch and come in.' said the old lady. So, the wolf went in and made an appetizer out of Granny."

"They tell children this story?" asked Joxer.

"Some people say the grandma ran away. Or the wolf just locked her in a closet. Malaegus told me he ate her. At any rate, granny was out of the picture, so this big, bad wolf put on her night dress and got in bed."

"Ooh, kinky."

"Well, eventually, Little Red Cloak came and knocked on the door. 'Who is it?' asked the wolf.

"'It's your granddaughter, Little Red Cloak' said the girl. 'I brought you a basket of food and some flowers.'"

"'Lift the latch and come in.' said the wolf. Well, Red came in, put down the food and flowers and looked at what she thought was her grandmother, and noticed something very odd."

"Well, duh!" laughed Joxer. "Even I can tell the difference between an old woman and a wolf in a night gown."

"Well, Red was a bit slow on the uptake. She did notice that Granny's arms were bigger and hairier than last time. So she said, 'Why, Grandmother, what big arms you have!'

"'All the better to hug you with, my dear.' said the wolf." To illustrate the point, Autolycus put his arms around Joxer and pulled him close. Joxer enjoyed the warm tingle that always coursed through him whenever Autolycus held him like this. "And then Red noticed that Granny's eyes were big and yellow. So she said 'Why, Grandmother, what big eyes you have!'

"'All the better to see you with, my dear.' said the wolf. Then, Red noticed that Granny's ears were furry, pointed and on top of her head. All she said about that was 'Why, Grandmother, what big ears you have!'" Auto ran a teasing finger over the exposed contours of Joxer's ear, causing the younger man to gasp and shiver at the sensation. "'All the better to hear you with, my dear.'" Autolycus softly whispered into Joxer's ear. He kissed the lobe before going on with the story. "Then Red noticed her grandmother had large, sharp, pointy teeth." Autolycus gave the sensitized earlobe a nip. "So she said 'Why, grandmother, what big teeth you have!'

"'All the better to eat you with, my dear!'" Joxer gave a little shout as Autolycus bit him on the neck. "And so, the big, bad wolf ate Little Red Cloak all up." Autolycus gave Joxer a few more nibbling kisses. "Just like I'm going to do to you!"

"This-um-this is a kid's story?" Joxer asked as Autolycus' teeth elicited some very adult feelings.

"It's a cautionary tale." Autolycus said, between alternating bites and kisses on Joxer's shoulder. "About staying on the path and not being led astray by smooth talking strangers."

"Oh. Are you the big, bad wolf, then?"

Autolycus howled, then went back to nibbling Joxer. Joxer laughed and lay back, allowing Autolycus no nibble his way down his body. He knew he'd have a hicky in the morning, and probably a few bite marks on his body, but he didn't mind. "Mmm....Jox, you're everything this big, bad wolf could want." Autolycus was lying on top of him now, and was back to laying a sucking kiss on Joxer's throat. Joxer grabbed tightly to the other man when the teeth grazed his earlobe. Autolycus was whispering to him again. "On a hot summer night," he said. "Would you offer your throat to the wolf with the red roses?"

"Will he offer me his mouth?" Joxer asked teasingly.

"Yes."

"Will he offer me his teeth?"

"Yes."

"Will he offer me his jaws?"

"Yes."

"Will he offer me his hunger?"

"Yes!" Autolycus said eagerly as he thrusted his groin against Joxer's, just to show him how great his "hunger" was.

Joxer liked how that felt and wanted it again. "Again, will he offer me his hunger?"

"Yes!" Autolycus hissed as he thrust against his lover.

"And will he starve without me?"

"YES!" Autolycus shouted as he thrust harder.

"Yes!" Joxer replied.

"Yes...." Autolycus sighed as their members ground together, heat answering heat.

"Yes...." Joxer answered, returning the thrusts. Their panting yeses became groans as they rubbed their aching desires together. Joxer grabbed his lover's ass and undulated faster as Autolycus licked and nibbled at his throat. Being eaten alive never felt so good. He was dimly aware of the sound of wolves continuing to howl, but they no longer frightened him. He let loose a howl of his own as his orgasm washed over him. He heard Autolycus cry out his name as his seed spurted over him. The two clutched each other as they panted.

"On a hot summer night," Autolycus gasped. "Would you offer your throat to the wolf with the red roses?"

"Yes."

"I bet you say that to all the boys." Autolycus chuckled as he lay down to sleep.

Well, hope you liked it! I tried to post it on Joxerotica, but for some reason the summary function doesn't work for me.
Does anyone know how to get in touch with Sidewinder? I wrote an Auto/Jox story that references stuff that happened in her fics and I wanna run it by her.
For no reason at all, the lyrics to "Hungry Like the Wolf" by Duran Duran:
Dark in the city night is a wire
Steam in the subway earth is afire
Do do do do do do do dodo dododo dodo
Woman you want me give me a sign
And catch my breathing even closer behind
Do do do do do do do dodo dododo dodo

In touch with the ground
I'm on the hunt I'm after you
Smell like I sound I'm lost in a crowd.
And I'm hungry like the wolf.
Straddle the line in discord and rhyme
I'm on the hunt I'm after you.
Mouth is alive with juices like wine
And I'm hungry like the wolf

Stalked in the forest too close to hide
I'll be upon you by the moonlight side
Do do do do do do do dodo dododo dodo
High blood Drumming on your skin it's so tight
You feel my heart I'm just a moment behind
Do do do do do do do dodo dododo dodo

In touch with the ground
I'm on the hunt I'm after you
Scent and a sound. I'm lost and I'm found
And I'm hungry like the wolf.
Strut on a line it's discord and rhyme
I howl and I whine I'm after you
Mouth is alive all running inside
And I'm hungry like the wolf.

Hungry like the wolf
Hungry like the wolf
Hungry like the wolf

Burning the ground I break from the crowd
I'm on the hunt I'm after you
I smell like I sound. I'm lost and I'm found
And I'm hungry like the wolf
Strut on a line it's discord and rhyme
I'm on the hunt I'm after you
Mouth is alive with juices like wine
And I'm hungry like the wolf
