The beginning

“You would think
that after the summer where he had taken on the hood his family would trust him
more. But no, of course not, because he was nothing but the screw up, the one
who couldn’t be trusted to do anything important for he wasn’t responsible enough
in anyone’s eyes; including his families”. Alan sighed for the umpteenth time
flopping onto his dormitory bed. “I can’t believe he didn’t even let me explain
my side of the story…” he muttered bitterly under his breath.

~Flashback~

 He had been doing
was walking down the hall to his next class, minding his own business and
thinking of his latest excuse for why he was not finished with the assignment
due today in Science. Wincing slightly at the thought of the anger and
disappointment on Ms. Crabtree’s face when she found he hadn’t finished yet
another assignment; his third one in fact, within the two short weeks he had
been here; made him feel so guilty. Yet another person to be disappointed
with me
, he thought solemnly. When he, in his absent-mindedness,
accidentally bumped into another person; knocking them both to the ground. As
he stood up and prepared to apologize, the blood drained from his face. Oh
God, he
thought with a violent shiver, I just knocked over Grant; the
same Grant who was the treasured football player, the same Grant that had
pulverized a kid just for cutting in line at the water fountain. Crap, I so
wish I could just disappear from here right now.
Grant stood up slowly, and
brushed himself off.

“Watch where
you’re going punk!” he growled. Alan quickly nodded and started to dash off
thanking his lucky stars that a warning was all he got. A hand reached out,
stopping him in his tracks, “Hey aren’t you that Tracy kid?” Alan froze,
“Yy..e..ah.” he stuttered. Grant roughly whirled Alan around to face him. “So
you’re the punk who played that stupid prank on my friends!” he fiercely spat
out, fire beginning to burn in his eyes. Alan’s mind went blank, before quickly
going through all of his recent pranks, “I..I don’t think I am; I haven’t done
any pranks recently to anyone! And I would never prank your friends!” he
vehemently denied.

Grant narrowed his
eyes, “I think that you’re lying to me! Who else would dare pull a prank on
them?!” Alan shook his head quickly, “I swear on everything I hold dear that it
wasn’t me! It must have been some stupid kid who didn’t know any better! I
didn’t do it!” Grant grew even more furious, and practically hissed out, “I
know it was you, no one else would have the nerve! I was going to go easy on
you, but now I’m pissed and you are going to wish you had never ever thought of
pranking them!”

Alan’s eyes grew
wide as Grant pulled his fist back, and braced himself for impact. Pain was all
Alan knew as the punches and kicks grew worse. Thinking quickly as blood began
to blur his vision he lashed his leg out hoping to hit and stun his attacker so
he could get away to safety. Fortunately, his kick worked bringing the football
player to his knees, cupping his crotch as he moaned in pain.

Alan regained his
footing, and began to flee when a familiar, stern voice froze him in his
tracks. “Sir please help me, Grant was attacking me and…” he frantically
started saying. “Enough Tracy, I have no patience for you’re excuses today!”
the Dean of the school yelled, “What on earth did you do to Grant?! Do you get
enjoyment out of hurting others who haven’t done anything wrong?!” Alan’s eyes
widened, “But…but sir he was the one attacking me!” he exclaimed in confusion.
“I said enough of your lies Tracy; obviously Grant was the one attacked seeing
as he is moaning in pain on the floor!” Alan looked at the head in disbelief,
“What?! But can’t you see what he did to me…” he yelled. The Dean turned away
from tending to Grant, who was beginning to stand up again. “That is enough;
I’ve had it with you Tracy! You not only attack another student but try to pin
the blame on one of our most honorable students!” he roared, glaring at Alan.
“But…but…sir…” Alan stuttered out weakly. Grant stood up and glared at him
along with the Dean of the school. “For this act of violence you have shown I
am afraid that you leave me no choice but to call your father in. I was going
to deal with you myself, but I feel that when your father hears of this
horrible act he will certainly deal with you far better than I could!” The Dean
then turned, leaving towards his office while leading poor, poor Grant to be
tended to by the nurse.

Grant turned
around to look at the stunned Alan while flashing him a smug smirk and
mouthing, ‘I told you I would get you for what you did.’ Alone in the hallway
Alan stared after the two in stunned disbelief. What just happened here? I
know that Grant is obviously favored by the Dean and I’m not so much, but how
can he ignore what happened to me?!
He then began limping towards his and Fermat’s
dorm; ignoring the pain with each step as he tried to gather his scattered
thoughts.

 Finally making it
towards his dorm he let out a pained sigh of relief; opening the door he slowly
made his way to his bed. He let out a hiss, the bed not agreeing with his
wounds, and began to lay down in an attempt to get rid of the dizziness he now
felt. A pained groan filled the room as he finally lay down completely, the
covers rubbing painfully on his injuries. The dizziness unfortunately, did not
go away like Alan thought it would in fact it became worse to the point where
black dots began to appear in his eyes. His last thought before he passed out
was; I hope dad will know the truth and help me, after all I am the one who
is seriously injured not Grant.
With that he let the darkness claim him,
leaving him to painful nightmares and dread of what awaited him.

~End of Flashback for now~
