Oh! P.S. a cookie for who can guess who's point of view this is from. You get three guesses and the first two don't count :D
The Colonel – Redux
The moon, it was full, pregnant and ready to give birth to it’s first born. His guards were silent enough for their own ears, but to mine they were louder than thunder. They were merely a distraction. Both men sat at the table, one at the head and the other at his side. A .9 mil. Sig Sauer was lying between then on a corner of the table. Two tall, bald secret-service types drug me into the dining room. My hands were bound before me, a bandana around my eyes; I knew who I was before however. The doctor was breathing heavily, his allergies, you understand. The colonel made no noise, but I could smell him. You were caught on private property, he sighed, and this isn’t the first time. He sighed again and I could hear him pick up the gun, he stepped towards me and the blindfold was ripped from my eyes. The light stabbed my eyes, but I never missed the Sig in my face. Damn it Carter I thought we had finished this! He yelled taking the safety off of the handgun. You shouldn’t have come back Sam, the doctor said calmly, sipping his coffee. I looked up the smoky barrel into the colonel’s obsidian eyes. With all due respect, sir, fuck you.
I never felt the bullet.
