Second soul mate
Disclaimer: I don’t own PR or anything else.
Summary: (Set during DT.) When Adam is unfortunately killed in a car crash, Rocky leaves to Reefside to mourn his loss. In the process, however, Rocky and Tommy grow closer to together. (Tommy and Rocky slash.)

Chapter 1
Dr. O, with the aid of the Dino Ranger Kira, began cleaning the house for Rocky’s visit. “How long will Rocky be?” Kira asked as she put the dishes in the dishwasher.
“Not really sure,” he answered truthfully. He walked over to the hall closet to look for extra blankets for the guestroom.
“How is he holding up?”
Dr. O pulled out a blue and red blanket, then shut the door. “Holding up as best he can.”
“How long were they together?” Kira asked while closing the dishwasher to turn it on.
Dr. O threw the blankets on the couch. “They’d been together since they were both seventeen.”
“Damn, that’s a long time to be with someone...”
“I know, and they even planned to get married this spring.” Dr. O then realized that he had forgotten the extra pillow in the hall closet.
“Do you think he will ever truly ever get over the loss?” Kira asked.
“Kira, some wounds can be healed with time, but wounds of the soul take more to heal.” Now Kira was confused.
“What do you mean by that, Dr. O?” she asked.
Dr. O handed her the pillow as he picked up the blankets. “Kira, Adam was Rocky’s first true love,” he began to explain as they headed up stairs together and into the guestroom. “There wasn’t a moment after they started dating that you wouldn’t see one without the other. A few months ago, they began talking about getting married and starting a family, but it all ended suddenly and that kind of hurt, it takes the rest of your life to heal.”
“I see what you’re saying, but why is he coming up here?” she wondered as they began to make the bed.
“Everyone else has their own families to take care of them and I live up here by myself, so it would be like a little vacation for him.”
Kira tucked in the corners of the bed. “But isn’t it dangerous with a evil Dino man-beast trying to take over the world and kill us?” Tommy frowned; he never thought of that.
“Well, he still has his own Zeo crystal, and I did tell him to bring it with him just in case, so he should be safe.” When they finished making the bed, both walked down the stairs in silence.
“So when is he getting here?” Kira asked.
“Not really sure, but Kira, before he gets here—“
“Yeah, I know: It’s better for him to deal with one person right now than with two.”
Dr. O nodded. “Thanks for the help,” he said, giving Kira a hug.
“Anytime.” She then took a look at the time. “I better go; my mom worries if I’m late. Plus, Trent is going to call and give me details about his date with Conner,” she said as she waved, then walked out of the door. Dr. O waved back until she was gone, giving a sigh when the door closed.
“Now, the only thing to do is wait for Rocky to come,” he thought to himself.
An hour later, there was a knock on the door, so Dr. O went over to answer it. Rocky stood there with a bag on his shoulder and looking like hell. “Hi, Rocky. Come in,” Dr. O said, standing aside to let him in. As Rocky walked in, Dr. O saw that his eyes were pretty bloodshot and how pale he looked.
“Do you need anything?” Dr. O asked.
Rocky shook his head. “It was a long trip and I’d just like to get some sleep,” he said in a low voice. Dr. O didn’t ask if he wanted anything to eat, since he probably wouldn’t want anything.
“Alright, let me show you to your room,” he said, then led Rocky to the guestroom. “The restroom is down the hall and to the left. There are fresh items in there for you to use.” Rocky threw his bag on the bed. Dr. O sighed. “If you need anything, just holler, alright?” Rocky nodded before crawling into bed.
Dr. O stood there for a second to look at Rocky. ”Rocky, I don’t know how, but I will help you, no matter what it takes,” Dr. O vowed before he shut the light off and closed the door.
As soon as the door was shut, Rocky sat up to grab his bag. He opened it and carefully pulled out a picture and an urn. He placed the picture on the nightstand beside him, then curled up in a ball, holding the ashes of his lover close to his heart. Rocky placed his head on the pillow so he could look at it. The picture was of him and Adam when they were eighteen. They were sitting under a tree, taking a nap, with Adam lying on top of Rocky. Tears began to fall out of his eyes.
“Adam, I miss you,” Rocky said before he closed his eyes and fell into an uneasy sleep.
