NOTES: This is an AU and would fit into the canon timeline someplace during the third season of MMPR. I call it an AU because Jason, Trini, and Zack come back from Switzerland almost a full year before Jason takes the Gold Ranger’s Powers from Trey of Triforia and Billy will not have to journey to Aquitar to be healed from his rapid aging, so he never stays there.


“What do you mean you can’t reach Jason?” Tommy barked angrily at Billy. “He still has his communicator over there in Switzerland. He’s got to come back home, Billy. The team needs him, I need him!”

“His communicator is turned off, Tommy.” Billy said calmly. “He’ll return the call soon, Trini’s wasn’t turned off and Jason’s due home in an hour. Calm down and rest, if you can. This spell of Lord Zedd’s will progress faster the more upset you get.”

“You’d be upset if you were being forced to ask your best friend to save your life by going to bed with you.” Tommy said as he sat down on the floor of the Command Center. “Lord Zedd made sure that another Ranger couldn’t help me with this. It can only be a former Ranger.”

“I know, Tommy.” Billy said sadly. “Jason will understand and be all right with whatever has to happen. He’s the one that started the phrase once a Ranger, always a Ranger. He’s your best friend and mine. He won’t let us down.”

“You didn’t say anything to Trini about why Jase needed to contact us did you?” Tommy asked suddenly apprehensive.

“No, I just told her that Jason needed to contact us immediately because we needed his help.” Billy said calmly. “Trini didn’t ask why and I didn’t elaborate or proffer any explanations.”

“Good. God I feel like I’m going to explode with anxiety here.” Tommy said glumly. “Just being near you is driving me crazy. You, Adam, Rocky, Aisha, and Kat have been great during this thing. I just wished we’d have realized, two weeks ago, that a person holding active Ranger powers wouldn’t have helped. I’m like four times worse than I was when I blocked that spell from you and Kat.”

“Rest if you can Tommy.” Billy said a sad smile on his face. “I don’t know about the other members of our team, but I feel guilty for enjoying our encounter yet not being able to help you discharge the imperative of this spell.”

“Don’t feel guilty, Bill.” Tommy told him bluntly. “None of us knew, even Zordon, that the spell could only be relieved by someone that doesn’t hold Ranger Powers anymore. I enjoyed it too.”

Both of them jump as Jason’s voice issues from the speakers, anxiety and concern in his soft baritone. “Zordon, it’s Jason. What’s going on? Trini said I needed to contact you guys immediately.”

“It’s Billy, Jason.” Billy told him smiling even as Tommy was smiling slightly with his lessening anxiety as he heard his best friend’s voice. “Is it possible for us to teleport you back here to Angel Grove for a few hours?”

“I can come back. What’s up?” Jason asked his voice getting sharp with his command tones and worry.

“I’d rather tell you here, in person, than tell you long distance.” Billy said his own voice getting sharp with exasperation. “It’s a private matter for one of the team, but I’d rather not say more, only that it’s important to the team for you to teleport here expeditiously.”

“Then teleport me now.” Jason said concern and fear vying in his voice. “I’m free for the next two days. Zack and Trini will cover for me with some excuse if anybody comes looking for me.”

“Teleporting now Jase.” Billy said smiling as Jason materialized before him with an expression of concern on his face; yet he had a small smile too. “Welcome home.” Billy said happily before turning toward where Tommy was sitting. “Tommy is the one that needs you, Jase. I’ll go now and leave you two alone to discuss this between you. As I said, it is a private matter.”

“Stay Billy.” Tommy said resignation in his voice. “You know the problem and I’d like you to stay in case Jase decides to punch my lights out when I ask him what I need to.”

“What’s going on, bro?” Jason asks, worry and confusion now on his face. “What’s gone wrong that you need my help with and why would I punch your lights out?”

“Well,” Tommy started hesitantly. “About two weeks ago now, I thought I blocked a spell aimed at Kat and Billy. None of us showed any signs of being affected by this spell until just four days ago. The gang tried to help me out; however Lord Zedd made the spell so an active Ranger couldn’t help break it. We’ve tried; we’ve really tried to break this thing before now, believe me; but according to Zordon and Alpha the only way this spell is going to get broken is with the help of a former Ranger.”

“What do I need to do?” Jason asked seriously, looking at Tommy with a half smile on his face. “I’m not going to stand here and not help, so what do you need me to do to help break this spell on you?”

“I need to…to,” Tommy stops as he blushes a very deep red and ducks his head in embarrassment.

“Jase,” Billy said calmly to him. “The nature of the spell that Tommy absorbed is a matter that is best handled in private.”

“I’m lost here guys.” Jason said in confusion. “Handled in private?”

“Bro, I need to sleep with you.” Tommy said quickly as he backed a few steps away from Jason.

“You need to sleep with me?” Jason asked still confused. “Why didn’t you just teleport to Switzerland? You could have slept with me there without having to bring me all the way back here for that.”

“Um, Jase.” Billy said as he too blushed in embarrassment. “Not sleep as in cohabitate a bed, but sleep as in intimate contact.”

“DO WHAT?” Jason almost shouted at Billy. “You mean as in have sex with him?”

“That’s what it’s going to take to break this spell on me.” Tommy said dejectedly. “We’ve all tried everything else, including me and Kat being together that way. It didn’t work and made matters worse. Zordon says if this spell isn’t broken in the next two days that I’ll wind up walking around this way permanently.” Tommy moved his hands from his lap. Both teens smile at their friend and nod their acceptance of his offer to use the spare bedroom at his house. “Thanks Billy.” Jason says as he grasps Billy’s shoulder in his large hand and squeezes gently in friendship. “I don’t want my parents knowing I’m home at all, so your place would be fine.”

“Thank you Billy.” Tommy said seriously. “My Uncle’s cabin is out because he’s up there this weekend and both my parents are staying home. Since Jason isn’t supposed to be here, my place is out too.”

The three teleport into Billy’s living room. Jason and Tommy go upstairs as Billy turns on the television, not to watch, but to have something to try and distract his active imagination from what was occurring upstairs.

While Billy tried to distract his mind from what was happening between Jason and Tommy, the two were discovering, much to Tommy’s dismay, that the residual left behind from Jason giving Rocky his powers was enough to stop the breaking of the spell on Tommy.

“I’m so sorry bro.” Jason said unhappily after they’d finished and Tommy was no better off. “It looks like this thing is going to have to be broken by you being with someone that has no Ranger powers at all.”

“Jase,” Tommy said sadly. “Zordon said that couldn’t happen. He said that someone without Ranger powers or having never held Ranger powers couldn’t withstand the demands of this spell. I know that I hurt you in my need to relieve myself just now. How do you expect me to do that to someone that doesn’t know the score?”

“I might know someone that would allow you to do what you needed to and does know the score.” Billy said quietly from where he stood in the doorway, blushing.

“Who?” Jason and Tommy both ask as they got up from the bed together.

“She’d not agree to participate with just you Tommy.” Billy said quietly. “She’d insist on Jase being here with you two and possibly me being here as well.”

“We are not calling on Maddie.” Jason said angrily. “Yeah, she knows about surge needs, but this spell induced surge in Tommy is ten times worse. I barely survived his pounding into my body like a madman and it didn’t help him at all.”

“Maddie is the only person we can call Jase.” Billy said sadly. “She knows about our surges and she’d help Tommy through this, you know she would. Think with your heart, Jase. Tommy needs relief or he’s going to go into permanent surge overload within the next day or so. Once that happens, he dies the next time he morphs. Maddie is our only chance now.”

“You’ve already called for her haven’t you?” Jason said looking at Billy with an exasperated expression as his voice held only resignation.

“Actually, no I haven’t and you know I can’t. You have to be the one to have her come here and help.” Billy said looking down at the floor and blushing deeply.
“Who is this Maddie you two are talking about?” Tommy asked confusion and some pain in his voice. “How does she know about morphing surges? How do you know she’d agreed to help me through this spell? And why does Jason have to be the one call on her for help?”

“You tell him Billy.” Jason said his voice flat and harsh as he walked from the room. “I’m going to clean myself up. I’ll stay while Maddie helps Tommy out, but then you send me right back to Switzerland.”

“What’s up with Jase?” Tommy said sadly. “He’s angry or really upset over this and I think I’m inadvertently the cause.”

Billy sat on the bed next to Tommy and quietly explained. “Maddie, Madeline Annabelle Fontaine, is Jason’s ex-girlfriend. She and Jase were together up until your first attacks as the Green Ranger. Maddie’s family moved to Silver Hills to get away from the monster attacks; however, Maddie kept coming back to help out in the Command Center without her parent’s knowledge. Maddie is the one that coined the phrase ‘morphing surge’ after the second time we all morphed for a fight then powered down. Maddie was in the Command Center when we got back from that fight, unfortunately. Jason, Zack, and I almost raped her before we came to our senses. “Maddie can’t be hurt anymore, at least she can’t be physically hurt; emotionally hurt is a different story.” Jason said sadly from the doorway. “Billy didn’t tell you to spare you the knowledge, but Maddie isn’t alive, Tommy. I have her spirit bound to me and that’s why I have to be the one to call her. That’s why she quit coming to help in the Command Center not because of my guilt or our breakup. We never broke up; Rita killed her before we could figure out where we were going. Now that we’ve worked it out, we can’t do anything about it because Maddie’s not alive anymore!”

“When did she die and how, Jase?” Tommy barked out his question with pain and anger in his voice.

“Rita.” Was all Jason would and could force past his angrily clenched jaw and the huge lump of sorrow and tears that closed his throat with almost physical pain.

“Good god. How?” Tommy asked quietly as his tears for Jason’s obvious sadness and pain ran down his face freely.

“You don’t want to know the how or the why, Tommy.” Billy told his team leader quietly as they both watched Jason struggle to regain tight control of his emotions. “Just know that Maddie wasn’t a Power Ranger and that Rita killed her because she worked with us in the Command Center.”

“Zordon couldn’t help?” Tommy asked his voice quiet but filled with confusion and trepidation in equal amounts.

“Maddie had been dead for three days before her body was teleported into the Command Center, Tommy.” Billy said, his own pain and sorrow now pushing past the calmness of his voice. “There was nothing Zordon could’ve done by the time we knew that Maddie had been assassinated.”

Jason, unable to listen to Tommy and Billy talk about Maddie’s death anymore, bolted from the room as if the hounds of hell were on his heels. Both Tommy and Billy could hear the loud gasping sobs that were being torn from him as he ran into Billy’s bedroom and threw himself onto the twin bed.

“We should go and help Jase.” Tommy said as he started to rise from where he was seated on the bed.

“NO!” Billy said forcefully as he shoved Tommy with all his might and Tommy fell back onto the bed, stunned at Billy’s forceful and angry shout.

“He’s hurting Billy!” Tommy said angrily as he again tried to get up off the bed and go and see about his friend.

“He’ll live.” Billy said sadly as he held Tommy on the bed and wouldn’t let him up. “I know this might sound cruel and uncaring, but Jason’s pain over hearing about Maddie’s death will bring Maddie’s spirit here sooner than she would normally come if anyone called her. Jason’s had to deal with this pain for almost two years, Tommy. His anguish will bring Maddie’s spirit out faster than if he forced her to appear.”

“He goes through this every time Maddie’s spirit comes to help?” Tommy asked as he quit struggling and allowed Billy to just hold and comfort him.

“Every time Maddie needs to manifest physically, yes.” Billy replied worriedly. “Jason is strong, both physically and mentally; however his emotional health is not as strong as his physical and mental strength. Jason goes into a depression after every manifestation and I fear that one day he won’t come out of it and it will kill him. Once you’ve been helped, I’ll call Trini and Zack. I’m sure that Jason won’t say anything to them, but I’ll let them know to watch out for Jason until the depressive episode passes.”

Both Tommy and Billy were surprised when Jason returned to the room, his emotional outburst was clearly written on his tear stained face. Jason stood just inside the doorway and seemed to be looking at a spot that was directly over Tommy’s shoulder. Tommy felt the hair on the nape of his neck start trying to stand up the longer Jason stared. “What’s happening, Billy?” Tommy whispered into Billy’s ear.

“I’ve never seen it happen this way before.” Billy said a slight frown of worry crossing his face.

“What do you mean?” Tommy asked, forgetting to whisper and his sharp command tone was overly loud in the quiet bedroom.

“I want a promise from Tommy before I agree to help.” Jason said quietly. His voice was distant and monotone as he spoke. To Billy and Tommy it seemed as if Jason wasn’t in control of anything.

“Maddie?” Billy asked as he stood up and really looked into Jason’s glazed and vacant eyes.

“I am here, Billy.” Jason’s voice answered even though he never moved to look directly at Billy or Tommy.

“What sort of promise do you want from me?” Tommy asked cautiously as he eased to the edge of the bed.

“I want you to swear you will not allow Jason to continue doing this to himself.” Jason’s voice answered. Superimposed over the monotone inflection were love, compassion, and worry. “Jason cannot continue to endure the emotional upheaval that preceeds my manifestations. I am fully capable of being called, by any Ranger, without Jason having to endure the reality of my death again and again.”

“How can we stop him?” Billy asked, concern and some trepidation in his voice. “We never know when we’re going to need him to help bring you into our world again, at least physically.”

“Call me to help without calling upon Jason.” Maddie answered using Jason’s body. “As long as Jason lives, I can manifest for a short period of time without him having to be present for that appearance. Should the necessary assistance take longer than an hour, Jason would have to be present for me to continue to maintain the solidity of a corporeal form.”

“We won’t call Jason unless absolutely necessary from now on.” Billy told Maddie, his voice rang with the truth of his words. “We’ll, I’ll, call for you if we need your services again. I won’t like deceiving Jason, but I’ll accede to your wishes and call for you first, then Jason if necessary.”

“I was able to overpower Jason’s mind and body because of his deep emotional pain.” Maddie told them sadly. “Once I’ve helped and gone, you must help Jason through the depression he will suffer with my departure. He will not want to remain alive and he cannot be allowed to DIE!”

“We’ll help him.” Tommy told her truthfully, his caring and worries for Jason almost tangible through his voice. “I’ll help Jason through this as much as I can.”

“Then I will return Jason’s control over his body and I will then assume solidity and help.” Maddie said as she sat Jason’s body on the bed between Tommy and Billy. “Jason’s depression won’t come about until after I’ve left. Help him survive as he must.”

“We will.” Tommy answered and Billy simply nodded.

“It will take about ten minutes for my form to solidify enough that I can be of assistance.” Jason’s voice said as it was filled with Maddie’s caring and compassion. “Until then, wait patiently for me. This spell over your body can be broken, but it will require all of us to accomplish the banishment. Lord Zedd seems to have a more devious mind than Rita Repulsa did. He also seems to have a better grasp over what consequences could come of having to engage in sexual activity does to a person with Ranger Powers.”

I don’t think I’ll be staying much longer after I get back. Maddie’s needed here and here is where I need to be so she can help when needed without having to have Trini and Zack lying to cover for me.”

“Billy!” Maddie called through the closed bedroom door. “I’m done cleaning up. I’ll meet you guys in the kitchen. You three need to eat to replenish the energy you just used.”

The three friends quickly dressed and went downstairs to the kitchen. There they ate a large meal of pizza, salad, and sodas as they relaxed together. Billy and Tommy watched the now solid Maddie interact with Jason and they smiled sadly as they realized that times like this is what made Jason’s depression so bad.

Later that evening a smiling Kat, Rocky, Adam, and Aisha joined them bringing more pizza and sodas with them. Maddie had already left and nothing was mentioned of her being there.

“Thanks for the help bro.” Tommy said happily as Kat snuggled in his lap. “I couldn’t hold Kat like this without being in massive pain if it weren’t for you.”

“You’re welcome and anytime bro.” Jason said smiling at him. “Rangers don’t leave teammates in trouble if they can help.”

“I still can’t believe it took an ex-Ranger to help him out.” Adam said smiling. “We’ve all screwed his brains out and been screwed senseless by Tommy for three days before Zordon discovered that it wasn’t doing any good.”

“Just goes to show you that ex-Rangers have uses too.” Jason said a wistful smile in his voice. “I’d have given anything to see the look on Zordon’s face when he had to tell you guys to quit screwing like rabbits.”

“It wasn’t a nice expression he held.” Rocky said, laughter in his voice. “He looked like he’d swallowed something very sour and nasty.”

A knock on the door surprises them and Billy open the door a shocked expression on his face to see Maddie there with tears running down her face. “Maddie?” He questioned and Jason quickly ran to the door as soon as Billy said her name.

“Oh sweetheart, what’s wrong?” Jason said as he scooped her into his arms and held her tightly to him. “Shhh,” he crooned as he sat on the couch holding her crying body carefully.

“I can’t do this anymore.” Maddie said sobbing loudly into Jason’s shoulder. “I can’t do this!”

“Do what love?” Jason asked as he tried to soothe the distraught woman in his arms.

“This!” Maddie said waving at her and Jason. “I can’t leave you again, I’ll go crazy. I need you Jason, please one last time, before I leave again?”

Jason wordlessly stood and carried the weeping young woman in his arms upstairs and to the bedroom where they’d been earlier.

“What was that all about and who was that?” Adam, Kat, and Aisha ask at the same time.

“That was Maddie.” Billy said as he closed the door and retook his seat across from Adam.

“Maddie is the one that helped me guys, her, Billy, and Jason.” Tommy said guiltily. “She knows about the Rangers from before your time. She left Angel Grove about the time I first attacked as Rita’s Evil Green Ranger.”

“How did she get here and how did she know you needed help?” Adam asked, worry and a small amount of disbelief in his voice and on his face. There weren’t any other cars parked around here.”

“She was injured by one of Rita’s attacks and left Angel Grove because of it.” Billy answered angrily. “Don’t let her see that disbelieving look on your face Adam, she’ll clean your clock if you do. Maddie is one of the strongest people I know, besides the Rangers.”

“Maddie volunteered.” Tommy said looking at Kat’s stunned expression. “She’s been through morphing surges with Jason before and she thought that since she couldn’t feel anymore that she’d be able to withstand what needed to be done. She was wrong about the sensation part and we all found that out together, Jason, Billy and me all discovered it at the same time. Unfortunately, I was the one inside of her vaginally, not Jase. If I’d have known she had any feeling down there at all, Jason would have been the one inside of her that way.”

“He couldn’t have been Tommy.” Billy said quietly. “Jason needed to support Maddie on you and keep you from thrusting mindlessly into her. He protected her and you that way. Her by being there and holding her as she helped ease your spell induced surge and you by keeping your body trapped so that one time, one orgasm, would be all you’d need to rid yourself of the effects of the spell.”

“He purposely did it that way then?” Tommy asked surprise in his voice as well as some shock and awe. “You’ve had experience with this before then?”

“Rita tried something similar just after you’d lost the Green Ranger’s powers the first time.” Billy answered quietly. “Maddie was here, visiting Jason, when Rita zapped me with something like Zedd zapped you with. Jase and Maddie did the same to me that they did to you, only I was tied down to the bed because I almost waited too long to seek help from the others. Five hours it took us and Maddie never felt Jason or me inside of her during the entire time. Oh, she made the appropriate noise of appreciation, but we could tell that she wasn’t getting anything from being with us. It was right after that she quit visiting at all.”

“How was Maddie hurt in the first place, Billy?” Tommy asked as watched as Billy ducked his head a guilty look on his face.

“Rita took Maddie prisoner while you were held under her spell. She let you assuage your morphing surges with Maddie and then when we freed you she broke Maddie’s neck and threw her at Jason’s feet the next day.” Billy said quietly as he looked at Tommy with tears running down his face. “Maddie only helped in the Command Center and didn’t have the powers of a Ranger to heal her. Zordon couldn’t do anything for her!”

“My god, why didn’t any of you tell me before now?” Tommy asked as he jumped to his feet. “I don’t remember much of what happened while Rita had me under her spell other than fighting the Rangers all the time and being angry.”

“Sit down Tommy!” Jason said, his voice quiet yet full of biting command tone, from the bottom of the stairs. “Maddie never knew it was you under the Green Ranger’s helmet. Rita never let you power down when she watched you rape Maddie’s helpless bound and beaten body. She told me that even as deep into morphing surge as Rita let you get, that you were as gentle with her as a morphing surge allowed you to be. She knew you’d become a valued team member and good friend to us. She came here today, willingly, and did what was needed to help out. Do you think she’d have been able to do what she did with you if she hadn’t come to terms with what Rita did to her and her life?”

“You only told me she was killed by Rita, not that I’d raped her.” Tommy accused Jason angrily. “That’s what both you and Billy told me. Why?”

“Because that’s the way I wanted it.” Maddie said quietly as she seemed to float down the stairs to Jason’s side. “I don’t want pitied for being captured and used as a nothing more than a sperm receptacle for morphing surge.”

Jason’s arm went about Maddie’s shoulders and he held her to his side as he stroked her arm for comfort. “She was just another innocent citizen injured by the monsters that the Rangers defended the city against.” Jason said quietly as he held Maddie in his arms.

“Had anyone discovered that Rita took me because I was the girlfriend of one of the Power Rangers, then their identities would have become public knowledge.” Maddie said quietly from the protection of Jason’s arms. “I was honored that you’d allow me to give you what you needed to help today, Tommy. You also, somehow, managed to give me something just as precious. Having Jason holding me so lovingly secure as he lowered my body onto yours broke something free inside of my soul. I can feel again. That was your gift to me today, even as I gave you the gift of life by allowing you inside of me again.”

Tears were running down Tommy’s stunned face as he looked at Kat and the others. “I’m so sorry Maddie.” He cried as Kat wrapped her arms about him for comfort. “I don’t remember doing anything to you. I don’t remember much of what Rita did to me after she took me from the alley near the Youth Center.”

“You are fortunate then, Tommy Oliver.” Maddie told him solemnly. “I do remember everything that witch did to you and to me through you.”

“I would take those memories from you if I could.” Tommy said sadly.

“Any of us would.” Adam said quietly from where his own face was covered with free flowing tears. “We’ve all been the ‘guests’ of Rita or Lord Zedd or both during out time as Rangers. We help each other through the trauma associated with that time; however, there are some scars that remain. We have to work as a team to defeat the monsters that are sent to destroy us and Angel Grove; sometimes that’s really hard to do with the scars that refuse to heal.”

“I’ve some experience with emotional scars.” Maddie said quietly and sadly. “I will try to help any that seek me out come to terms with the scars you cannot heal together.”

“I’m not staying in Switzerland.” Jason said a smile showing on his face as the others look at him in shock. “When I go back tonight, I’m going to start working to come home. Maddie is needed here, not there, and here is where I need to be. I know that the powers I passed into Rocky’s hands won’t have me back again; however, I can help Maddie to help all of you when you need us.”

“I’ll be here should any of you need to talk with me. I’ve lived through Rita’s twisted ideas of pleasure and survived, in a way, her wrath over losing to the Rangers too. I’ll do my best to help all of you work through whatever happens to any of you at her or Lord Zedd’s hands. Trust me, you can’t shock me with anything you tell me.”

“Zedd raped me.” Adam said quietly. “He put a spell on Rocky and Billy and they held me down while he raped me. Then he had them use me too.”

“Typical.” Maddie spit out angrily. Her voice changed to a softer tone and she asked, “Jason, take me over to Adam please?”

Jason lifted Maddie into his arms and put her into a surprised Adam’s lap. “Maddie’s therapy might not be what you expect Adam, so bear with her. It works, but it isn’t conventional in any sense of the word.”

Maddie lifted Adam’s tear stained face and looked deep into his eyes. “Which hurts your heart the most Adam, Zedd’s rape of you or the fact that Rocky and Billy didn’t try to fight off his orders?” She asked gently.

“Rocky and Billy’s following his orders.” Adam answered her so quietly that all but Maddie had to strain to hear him.

“Rocky, Billy,” Maddie said quietly. “Come over here with Adam and me please.” Rocky slid from the couch and knelt next to the right side of Adam and Billy joined him kneeling on the left side of Adam’s chair. Rocky looked at Maddie with a shocked expression on his face as he realized the woman sitting so solidly in Adam’s lap was a spirit. “Now, Adam I want you to close your eyes and open your mind. I want you to feel what Rocky and Billy are going to be doing to you, without a spell on them. This touching is being done out of love, brotherhood, and friendship. Concentrate on the feelings they’re evoking in your body and soul. Allow their touch to heal those scars inside of you.” Maddie crooned into his ear as Adam’s head fell back onto the chair and he moaned as Rocky and Billy started caressing him. Jason wordlessly lifted Maddie out of Adam’s lap and into his as he sat on the floor next to them while Maddie gave quiet instructions to Rocky and Billy.

Rocky and Billy caressed Adam’s clothed body together and by the time Maddie had them stop, Adam was writhing with the sensations they’d invoked in him. “Take him upstairs and show him how much both of you care for and love him.” Maddie said quietly to them. Adam’s eyes flew open and he looked down in wonder at the erection that strained against his pants. Maddie smiled secretively as Rocky and Billy each took one of Adam’s hands and led him upstairs.

“He’ll be better now.” Maddie said quietly to the stunned onlookers as she kissed Jason’s cheek.

“How did you manage to get him to relax enough to let them even touch him?” Aisha asked astounded. “Even when we were trying to help Tommy out, Adam jerked away from Rocky and Billy every time they touched one of us or him that way.”

“Adam loves all of you so much.” Maddie said smiling at Aisha. “His scarred psyche from being raped by Zedd while held by two people he admires and loves is what caused him to shy away from their touch. He felt guilty for enjoying their use of him at Zedd’s orders. You have to read between the lines whenever a Ranger is hurting. Jason’s first stint as a ‘guest’ of Rita left him so scarred that Kimberly, Trini, Billy, Zack, and I had to practically rape him because he wouldn’t seek surge relief from anyone, including himself. Those Zordon chooses to be his Rangers are special people. They feel things more deeply than most and the powers of a Ranger make those feelings deeper than ever. Most of the people that take on the mantle of a Power Ranger also are bisexual. Some aren’t comfortable with that, like Trini wasn’t at first, but eventually they bow to the needs of their bodies and accept relief from whichever teammate is willing to give it to them.”

“The powers make sure we’ll accept sex from anyone willing to give us the climax we need to purge our spikes.” Kat said shyly.

“Not all the time.” Maddie said seriously. “Jason wouldn’t let Billy or Zack touch him sexually until after I’d been hurt. Then he’d only take surge relief with Billy after Tommy joined the team. “Oh sweetheart.” Jason said hugging her tightly as he rose and sat in the chair vacated by Adam. “I love you so much for being so strong about all of this crap you’ve had to deal with since I became a Ranger. I could kill Tommy for hurting you like that, but he wasn’t in his right mind at the time, Rita controlled him and she’s the one to blame for your pain, not him.”

“You finally understand, Jase.” Maddie said as tears rolled down her face. “Tommy was never to blame for my injuries, any of them. Rita did those things to me and just used Tommy to further her evil designs against the Rangers. You almost played right into her hands before you wisely left the team. Now that you’ve matured even more during your time at the Peace Summit, you can finally let those things go completely.”

“Maddie,” Tommy said as he joined them, kneeling before the chair, his own tears streaming down his face. “Help me lose the pain of knowing I hurt you, even at Rita’s hands.”

“I can’t help you lose that Tommy.” Maddie said sadly as she kissed his cheek. “Jason can help you with that better than I can. I’ve done what I could to ease your pain earlier today. Now, allow Kat, Aisha, and Jason to heal your heart as only they can.”

Kat knelt next to Tommy and kissed him passionately as she said quietly, “I love you Tommy. Nothing Rita, Zedd, or any evil being ever forces you to do under a spell will change the love in my heart and soul.”

Aisha smiled down on them from where she was standing and placed her hand on Tommy’s bowed head. “Tommy, you have been a friend, protector, teammate, and an exceptional leader. I love you like you are a part of me and you always will be. My time as a Power Ranger has deepened that love for you so much that you’ll always have a special place in my soul from now on.”

Jason’s own face was covered in tears as he slid from the chair and gathered a freely crying Tommy into his arms and told him truthfully. “I love you bro. You complete a part of me that I never knew was missing until the day I offered you my hand in friendship and a place with us as a teammate. You will always be with me, no matter what circumstances separate us physically. I truly believe that you will be so deeply entrenched in my heart and soul that I will become your guardian angel should death take me before you. Should God take me from this Earth today, I want you to know that I will always be there for you, whenever you need me. You are the half of my soul that I didn’t even know was gone. I love you as much as I love Maddie. Unconditionally and forever.”

Tommy cried unabashedly as his three friends comforted him and he felt the darkness Rita’s evil control of him had instilled in his soul shrink to where nothing remained but light and happiness.
“I have to leave, Jase.” Maddie said quietly. “I’ve done what I can here and I must go now.”

“Maddie?” Jason questioned as the four of them watched her start to fade before their eyes.

“Don’t mourn me again, Jason.” Maddie said as she slowly faded from their sight. “Help him to live, all of you.”

“Maddie!” Jason cried as he tried to lunge for her but Tommy stopped him.

“Bro!” Tommy cried as he held Jason tightly to him.

“What happened to her?” Kat asked quietly, her stunned voice almost lost in Jason’s sobs.

“Maddie’s dead.” Tommy said sadly. “That was her ghost here today helping all of us. When Rita broke her neck, she was killed instantly. Maddie has been dead for two years now. She’s become the guardian angel of all the Power Rangers and her spirit returns when we need her the most. My pain, Adam’s pain, Jason’s pain, all of our pain and need is what drew her here for us today. I’ve only seen her one time before now and that was just after she died. She came to me in a dream and helped me through the first days after Rita’s spell was broken over me. I wanted to kill myself, but the Green Ranger’s powers wouldn’t let me do that. I was so despondent that I tried suicide. That night, Maddie came to me much as you saw her just now. She took me to Jason’s house and he contacted the others. We went to my uncle’s cabin and we talked for three days before I was able to come to terms with what Rita forced me to do. Maddie faded on the six of us that day too. It was four days later that we discovered that Rita had murdered her and then mutilated her body beyond recognition. I visit Maddie’s grave often and can feel her love for us when I’m there, wrapping itself around me like a protective blanket. Whenever we’ve needed support and guidance the most, Maddie’s ghost visits and helps any of the Rangers that are hurting to heal deep inside their souls. She always comes to our rescue. She did love Jason dearly, even though they were only sixteen. She expanded her love for Jason to all of us Rangers after she died. Zack and Trini have told me that Maddie even came to them in Switzerland during their deep depression over giving up their powers. She helped them heal and become whole people again. Jase will survive. We’ll visit Maddie’s grave tomorrow and she’ll heal his hurting heart, again.”

Billy, Rocky, and Adam come downstairs and join the others holding the hurting and crying Jason.

“Maddie’s gone?” Billy asked as he held Jason tightly in his arms.

“She left like she always does.” Tommy said a sad smile on his face.

“Faded away with a smile and a kiss for Jase then?” Billy said sadly.

“She’ll be back when we need her the most.” Tommy said conviction in his voice. “It’s just so damned hard on Jase because he can pretend she’s alive while she’s here. She’d fade away without his love for her shining so damned brightly every time she comes back to help.”

“How many times has Jason helped Maddie help us heal?” Kat asked as she helped hold Jason as he grieved for his loss again. “It’s cruel of her to use him like that.”

“No!” Jason said anger jumping before his grief. “Maddie would never be cruel to me, ever!”

“It’s cruel for her to come back to you for assistance time and again Jason.” Kat said calmly. “Your grief over losing her repeatedly is not allowing your heart to heal and move on to someone that’s alive. She’s selfishly keeping you bound to her even in death and that’s not right.”

“You don’t understand, Kat.” Jason said sadly. “I’m the one that bound Maddie’s spirit to mine. I have to come back to help her help the Rangers. Without me here she can’t take corporeal form. I’m the catalyst for her appearance. Had I not been here today, Maddie would have never been able to take solid form and relieve Tommy’s surge. Maddie loved me so much and I loved her so deeply that I’m the one that can’t let her go. One day, I’ll find someone with a heart as open, good, kind, and caring as Maddie’s was. Then I can finally let her go and rest. I’m the one that keeps drawing her back to help me help the Rangers, not the other way around.”

“Maddie is loved by all of us Jase.” Billy said placing his hand on Jason’s shoulder. “She was such a bright light in our lives that when Rita took it from us, we kept her memory alive in our hearts and souls. Maddie comes to us when we need her, just as you’ve always done. She’s a spirit that lives within us everyday. I hope to one day meet someone that burns as brightly as Maddie did.”

All of them jumped as the phone rang. Billy walked into the kitchen and answered it. He returned with a perplexed and stunned look on his face.

“Jase, that was Trini.” Billy said carefully. “Her and Zack are in the process of packing up the apartment in Switzerland right now. The conference has ended and all of you are due home on Monday. Trini said for you stay here and visit with Maddie. Apparently Maddie appeared to Trini and Zack after she left us. Trini also said that Maddie said Kimberly needed you in Florida. That Kim was hurting because of her decision to leave Tommy. Maddie is in Florida with Kimberly right now and I expect she’ll be returning here to visit with Maddie too.”

“Good lord.” Tommy breathed as he looked at Kat with a stricken expression on is face.

“Go to her Tommy.” Kat said smiling at him with love in her eyes. “Kimberly was your first love and she needs you. Go and help Maddie help her to heal too.”

Jason stood as Tommy did and the two disappeared in flashes of light only to materialize seconds later next to Kimberly’s prone from in her room at the dormitory in Florida. Maddie was crying as she sat on the bed next to Kimberly and stroked her hair gently. “I couldn’t help her.” Maddie gasped as she tenderly touched Kimberly’s too still face. “She took something that I couldn’t stop in her system. I tried merging with her, but she threw me out before I could heal her. She left a note for you Tommy. I’m so very sorry.”

Jason gathered Maddie’s crying and semi-solid form into his arms and held her gently. “Shhh Maddie. Kimberly will join you in helping us now.”

“She can’t!” Maddie wailed. “Her spirit is too damaged to do what I do willingly for all the Rangers. She won’t even let me put it back into her body. I could save her, but she’s willing herself to die.”

“Let her go Maddie.” Tommy said as he stroked Kimberly’s face gently. “I’ve read the note and Kimberly did this because she had a terminal brain tumor that was slowly driving her insane. Let Kimberly’s spirit rest now. Trying to keep her here with us will only hurt her more, not help at all.” Tommy’s face was covered with tears as he turned and saw Kimberly’s spirit smiling at him from across the room. “I understand why, Beautiful, only I wish you’d have stayed long enough to say goodbye in person.”

“I won’t lose a Ranger over this!” Maddie said angrily as she turned incorporeal and joined Kimberly’s spirit across the room. Jason and Tommy couldn’t hear the conversation they saw between the two spirits, but Kimberly finally hugged Maddie’s crying one and faded from view. They watched in awe as Maddie’s spirit slowly floated over to Kimberly’s body and touched the place on her head where the tumor was located. Maddie’s spirit then floated into the body and suddenly Kimberly sat up and blinked. “Jason?” Kimberly’s voice asked as she looked about the room in confusion.
“Maddie?” Jason asked astounded and shocked. “What did you and Kimberly do?”

“We traded places, basically. It’s actually more involved than that, but Kimberly took my place as the Rangers Guardian spirit and I was allowed to take her place here on Earth. I’ve got all of her memories and mine now.” Maddie replied sadly as a tear ran down Kimberly’s face unchecked.

Tommy watched as Kimberly’s familiar features blurred and then Maddie’s own features took over the face and the body changed to match Maddie’s own generous form. Maddie rose from the bed and Tommy looked down and jumped in shock as Kimberly’s body was again lying too still on the bed. “How?” Tommy choked out as he looked at Maddie held gently in Jason’s arms.

“Kimberly’s spirit will abide here in solid form until she’s discovered by her roommate.” Maddie said quietly. “Once her body is buried she will ascend and take my place as a guardian angel for the Power Rangers. I am alive again thanks to Kimberly’s generosity and love. We must leave, Kimberly’s roommate is due in here any moment now.”

Jason cuddles Maddie to him protectively as Tommy gathers both of them into his arms and the three teleported back to Billy’s increasingly crowded living room.

“Kimberly’s dead.” Tommy said sadly as he gathered Kat into his arms and cried into her hair. “She took something that even Maddie couldn’t help with and she died before we could get there.”

“Oh No!” Aisha cried as tears sprang to her eyes. Adam and Rocky, their own tears running freely down their faces gather the distraught Aisha into their arms as Billy steps into Maddie and Jason’s arms with tears on his face.

Once everyone has cried, Tommy looks at Maddie and says quietly, with love in his voice. “Maddie, would you allow Kimberly’s spirit to speak with us?”

“I’d be honored to allow my successor to speak through me, if she will.” Maddie said sadly.

All of them watch as Maddie is surrounded in a pink halo of light and her features shift into that of Kimberly’s familiar ones. “Thank you so much for allowing me to say goodbye properly, Maddie.” Kimberly’s soft voice said as she looked at the tear-stained faces around her. “I’ll be here for all of you just like Maddie was, I promise.” Kimberly said quickly. “I cannot stay long for my body wants to hold me here and shove Maddie’s spirit out. Maddie has watched over all of us since she became part of our team that first day. Even after her death, she continued to watch over us, help us, and heal us when we needed her. That sacrifice on her part is what made our swap possible. I love all of you so much that I willingly agreed to take Maddie’s place and give her my body to have. Maddie could have healed my brain tumor, had we known about it a year ago, but it had progressed to the point that even Maddie’s love and spirit couldn’t heal me fully. I’ve kept tabs on all of you and I chose today to end my life because I knew Maddie would show up to help Tommy out. Her needed presence here allowed me to accomplish my own death with dignity and no pain. I fought her when she first appeared to me in Florida because had she healed me fully, then she would have faded from all of our lives forever. She’d have truly left us alone and without a protector. Now you have two protectors with you always, me in spirit and Maddie in the flesh. Just as Maddie was here for all of us during our pain and suffering, I’ll always be with you in spirit. I’ll heal as much as I’m able to heal, but all of you must band together even closer now. Tommy will always be in my heart, but his heart now belongs to Kat. I cannot join with you the way Maddie did corporeally; however, my spirit will join with yours to heal when necessary. Love each other and enjoy each other’s company every day you have it. I love all of you so very much and Jason, you be good to Maddie. All of you be good to her. She’s going to be on an emotional rollercoaster until she’s used to having a real body again. Thank you again Maddie for loving all of us so much that you’d allow me this last visit with my friends. I love all of you.”

They watched, smiles and tears covering their faces as Kimberly’s features faded and Maddie’s returned. Maddie almost fell over, but Jason and Billy held her until she regained her equilibrium from Kimberly’s departure. “You’ve always had a special place in my heart Kimberly.” Maddie whispered as she felt Kimberly’s spirit surrounding all of them with love.

“We’re going to have do this emotional scene again when Kimberly’s body is buried next to Maddie.” Tommy said quietly. “Wait a second, how are you going to attend school or anything else Maddie? Everyone believes you are dead.”

“I will live in the Command Center.” Maddie said quietly. “My parents are dead and I cannot live, openly, here in Angel Grove for fear my grandmother might see me one day. Zordon gave his blessing for my living there when he allowed me to take Kimberly’s body as my own. The Command Center will become my home and I’ll be as much a prisoner of its confines as Zordon is. I cannot hang out with any of you at the Youth Center, join you at the park for fun and games. My life has become the confines of the Command Center and the only time I can leave is if Kimberly needs my body to help one of you that is hurting beyond her spirit’s ability to heal. That was our deal and I must honor it to the letter.”

“You can’t live up there all the time, sweetheart.” Jason said unhappily. “I want to dance with you, take you places, do things with you, and everything that a dating couple does together.”

“We can’t love.” Maddie says sadly. “Unless Zordon can find someway for others not to recognize me, find me a new identity and explain my uncanny resemblance to a dead woman. My life will be lived at the Command Center and some of the desolate surrounding countryside only. I can dance with you under the night stars, you can take me on picnics to the desert floor, and we can make love there unhindered at all.”

“You’re my sister.” Tommy said a determined note in his voice. “I’ll speak with my adoptive parents and they’ll take you in. We’ll get paperwork created to prove that you are who I say you are.”

“I agreed to live in the Command Center Tommy.” Maddie says sadly. “I cannot back out of the deal for that would hinder Kimberly’s spirit in helping all of you.”

Tommy looked past Maddie and Jason and saw a faint outline of pink behind Maddie with an angry expression on her face. “I think Kimberly’s spirit will soon have Zordon giving you different orders Maddie.” Tommy said a smile on his face as Kimberly faded from view. “She’s not happy with that part of the deal at all. I saw her waiting to help you out, if necessary, she’s ticked right now. Zordon is going to get an earful of her anger too. Zordon has benefited from your love for Jason and through him all of the Rangers long enough. Your spirit bound to Jason’s has kept you with us for two long years Madeline Fontaine. Zordon’s callousness in having you bound to Jason has kept both of your lives in upheaval for too long now. Jason hurts so badly every time he comes to help you help us. When you leave, you take another small piece of his soul and heart with you. I know why Kimberly killed herself; she was dying slowly and wanted us to remember her as she lived before the tumor took over. You were ripped from Jason’s life by Rita’s evil, that death you were unprepared for and Zordon’s interference has kept you from completing your journey to heaven. You’ve stayed, bound to Jason’s spirit so tightly that you could never leave without taking his with you. You can’t bear to be the one that takes his life, so you stayed and wandered the globe watching over us, protecting us, and loving us all for Jason’s sake. Kimberly’s help will be different and she told us all that when you allowed her spirit to possess you just a few moments ago. I heard between the lines. She can’t use your body to become corporeal to heal us anymore Maddie. We’re going to have to help heal each other by listening to our hearts, souls, and Kimberly’s spirit as it whispers to us about who needs help. When you allowed Kimberly to possess you just now, the body automatically recognized the spirit that was born into it. Kimberly struggled to shove you back in even as she struggled to leave her body again. Kimberly gave you the gift of life with her death; honor that gift by living this new life to the fullest. That means real dates with Jason, at the Youth Center, the movies, the park, and all the other places teenaged couples go together. Dance under the stars together, but also dance inside the school gym.”

Maddie jumps in shock as Tommy’s communicator beeps. Tommy smiles as he answers, “Tommy here Zordon, go ahead.”

“I have just had a very interesting discussion with Kimberly’s spirit.” Zordon said petulantly. “Apparently Kimberly is unhappy with my plans for Maddie to live in the Command Center from now on. Documents are being produced by Alpha that shows Maddie is your long lost sister, as we speak. I apologize to you for wanting to keep you here in the Command Center, Maddie; however I mistakenly believed you would have been happier here than out in the world you left so abruptly.”

“I knew Kimberly would give him what for.” Aisha said sotto voiced as everyone smiled happily.

“I’ll come and get the official documents and show them to my parents today.” Tommy said happily. “My new sister should be living with me by the end of the week. For now I think it’s best if she stays here with Billy.”

“That will be acceptable.” Zordon huffs and cuts the signal.

“Your house bro?” Jason said looking at Tommy with wonder in his eyes. “Why your place?”

“Because, my parents never met Madeline Annabelle Fontaine in person.” Tommy said looking at everyone with a devilish gleam in his eye. “Also because she’s yours bro. She can’t live at your house as your sister now can she?”

“What name are you going to give me Tommy?” Maddie asked smiling at him happily. “I’ve only ever been called Maddie before.”

“Your name will be Kimberly Madeline and you prefer to be called by Maddie which is short for your middle name.” Tommy said tears in his eyes. “I don’t know what last name to give you, but Oliver is mine now and will be yours too, if you’ll accept the offer.”

“Thank you so much bro.” Jason says as he hugs a surprised Tommy.

“You honor not only me but Kimberly’s memory as well my friend.” Maddie said as she hugged him. “I will welcome a brother into my new life.”

Tears are falling from every one of them as they feel Kimberly’s spirit wrapping them in her love. “Kimberly approves too.” Billy said a smile starting to form on his sad face. “She’s enveloping us in her love right now, I can feel it throughout my being.”

“We can too.” Adam says looking at everyone’s sad faces starting to brighten and the pain in their hearts starting to lift some. “We love you Kimberly and we are deeply grateful for your gift to Maddie too.”

All of them feel the laughter from Kimberly’s spirit as she speaks. “All of you are loved in return and my gift to Maddie was one from the heart for both her and Jason. Kimberly Madeline Oliver, welcome to the world of the Power Rangers.”

“Please, Maddie only.” Maddie said happiness in her voice. “I once had a good friend that shared my first name, her death saddens me so much that I prefer to be known as Maddie.”

“Very well, Maddie Oliver.” Kimberly’s spirit said to all of them. “Welcome home to Angel Grove and the love and care of the Power Rangers. Treat her well guys. She’ll be helping you to hear me speak to you. Listen for me when you need me the most. I’ll be there to support, love, help, and care for all of the Rangers and teammates from now on. One day, one of you might take over from me, but until then, remember our love for each other, our world, and life.”

“My first girl will have your name, Beautiful.” Tommy said as tears ran down his face. “May you love her as much as I will.”

Two days later Zack, Trini, and Jason are standing solemnly in the airport as they comfort Kimberly’s grieving mother. Their flight from Paris was scheduled so that they could accompany Kimberly’s body home to Angel Grove for burial. Tommy, Billy, Rocky, Adam, Aisha, and Kat met them at the airport and they all climbed into the limo the funeral home had sent for Kimberly’s mother. The rose colored casket was gently put into the hearse and the limo followed slowly behind. At the Angel’s Rest Funeral Home, the group exited and Jason, Rocky, Adam, Billy, Zack, and Tommy carefully lifted the casket from the hearse and brought it inside for the viewing that was to happen. Inside the funeral home, the parents, friends, teachers, and everyone Kimberly’s life had touched awaited her arrival from Florida with tears and sadness in their hearts. Maddie held the doors for the men and then escorted Kimberly’s mother to the front of the room with Kat, Trini, and Aisha.

The service that Jason and the others had arranged, in accordance with Kimberly’s wishes, was special. Each of them wore something in the color pink. The men all wore pink shirts while Kat, Aisha, Trini, and Maddie wore pink dresses. All of them, except for Maddie, spoke of what Kimberly had meant to them during her time in their lives. Maddie stepped to the podium and read Kimberly’s last poignant note to Tommy and all of them. After the ceremony, Kimberly’s casket was again gently carried out into the small, attached graveyard and placed into the earth next to where Maddie’s first broken and disfigured body lay buried. Maddie felt Kimberly’s spirit surrounding her, protecting her own spirit from the call of her body, as she stood by the graveside.

Later that night, the nine teenagers returned to the freshly turned earth over Kimberly’s grave and they planted into the soil many different types of pink flowers. Maddie stayed back so that Kimberly’s spirit could comfort them as they honored her memory with their gift of the flowers. “I can’t take Kimberly from all of you just to protect me. One day I’ll be able to stand by your sides as we remember her in our own way, but for now, all of you go ahead. I’ll keep watch and give a shout if anyone comes this way.” Maddie told them smiling as she watched the pink glow of Kimberly’s spirit surrounding them all as they planted their gifts for her. Maddie was unprepared for the shock she got next. Goldar and Scorpina appeared at the gravesite with Finster. Goldar growled at the Rangers and all of them stepped back, prepared to morph when Goldar dropped to his knees and planted a single pink rose bush next to the small temporary headstone.

“May your spirit live forever in…” Scorpina started to say and was stopped by Maddie’s hand over her mouth. “May your spirit live forever in our hearts and souls.” Maddie said quietly as she pulled Scorpina away from the graveside and the stunned Rangers. “Don’t you take her from us you evil witch.” Maddie hissed angrily at Scorpina.

“I was not intending to take her from you, young Maddie, spirit made whole again.” Scorpina said bowing slightly to Maddie. “Your courage is known to me and I mourn Kimberly’s passing as you do. She is a special soul and will be remembered always.”

“Had you uttered the words you were about to say, she would have forever been trapped here by that accursed rose bush Goldar is now planting.” Maddie hissed as Trini and the others join her near Scorpina’s side.

“I was not intending to trap her anywhere, young princess.” Scorpina said a smile in her voice as the Rangers all jumped in surprise. “I merely wanted to offer my condolences and help her spirit pass onto the next level of existence. An existence you were denied by that meddling Eltarian do-gooder, Zordon.”

“Mother!” Maddie said exasperated and angry. “I have told you time and again that father is not a meddling do-gooder and you are the one on the wrong side of the fence.”

“WHAT?” Jason and the others say as they step away from the two women in shock.

“My mother stands before me.” Maddie said unhappily. “She is Rita’s best friend and enjoys the evil things Rita does. It amuses her; although, my death at Rita’s hands probably angered her some.”

“Your mother was very angry with my mistress for killing you, young Madeline.” Finster said quietly as he nodded to the Rangers. “She punished her for her mistakenly believing that Queen Scorpina wanted you removed from the conflict. Forgive my mistress Princess Madeline, she was distraught to lose her pet Power Ranger to the others so easily.”

“FORGIVE HER?” Maddie shouted in anger. “NEVER!”

“Now my dearest daughter,” Scorpina cooed as she stroked Maddie’s hair gently and carefully. “Please, don’t hold a grudge against your Auntie Rita. She does care for you in her own way.”

“Mother,” Maddie said as she wheeled on Scorpina. “She ordered Tommy to rape me repeatedly up the ass as he was morphed, then she laughed about it when I almost bled to death. That is how she cares for me. She disfigured my body so much that even you wouldn’t have recognized me; then she broke my neck and dumped me into the Command Center as she gloated to father over having killed the only child he will ever have of his line. That is how she shows she cares for me?”

“She did what?” Scorpina roared in anger and the Rangers all watched in amazement as Goldar and Finster cowered with fright. “She said that your death was an accident. That you were killed by Tommy before she lost him to the others.”

“SHE killed me, mother.” Maddie said her face calm yet her voice firm and filled with loathing. “Ask Goldar and Finster what she did to my body. Better yet, raise my coffin from the ground and look inside for yourself. Father preserved the evidence in the Eltarian way. She gloated as she cut those evil magic symbols into my body even as she chanted her spells so that I’d live until she was ready for me to die. She had already lost control of Tommy; the Rangers had destroyed the Sword of Darkness three days before. Tommy did nothing but try and be gentle as he followed her commands and raped me anally. Rita never allowed him vaginal penetration for that would have broken her spell immediately. Look into the coffin mother, see with your own eyes what your so called best friend did to the only flesh and blood child you will ever have from your womb. Father’s binding my spirit to Jason’s is what kept me here until Rita could call you back two years after the deed was done.”

“Our daughter speaks the truth Sabrina.” Zordon said quietly from behind the Rangers. “Kimberly has allowed me the use of her spirit for a time so that I might see you again, my love.”

“That bitch!” Scorpina said as she stalked to the site of Maddie’s grave and motioned over it. Everyone watched in amazement as Maddie’s plain coffin rose from the ground and opened. Jason was the only one in a position to see inside of it and he blanched totally white and had to hold onto Billy and Tommy to remain standing. “My god.” He breathed even as he doubled over and retched into the ground at his feet.

Zordon’s ghostly form joined Scorpina as she stood over their daughter’s mangled and disfigured body. “She trapped my daughter’s spirit here on this world forever with these unholy sigils.” Scorpina said quietly as she closed the casket and waved it back into the ground. “I will join you in the Command Center now, Zordon. Release Kimberly to journey to the next level of her life.”

“I cannot, for in doing that, Kimberly’s sacrifice for our daughter would fade away.” Zordon said sadly. “Kimberly gifted Maddie with her own body when she died. She willingly took our daughter’s place as a spirit forever trapped to this world so that Maddie could return to life and live fully again.”

“She trapped herself here out of love, mother.” Maddie said from where she stood alone. The other Rangers had moved from her side and she looked lost and forlorn. “She loved all of her friends and fellow Rangers so much that she willing took my place and allowed me to take over her dead body. I would have abided here as a spirit until this world ended and the next began; however, with Kimberly’s compassionate gift I have back a living breathing, yet now very lonely life. Your presence here today has seen to that. The Rangers no longer trust me and Jason’s love is dying for me as I speak to you. Thank you for your loving gift my good friend, only now I won’t be able to help as I promised you I would.”

The Rangers watch as Zordon fades from sight and they see Kimberly’s spirit engulf Maddie in a shroud of dark pink light. “I know Kimberly.” Maddie sighed as she felt Kimberly’s spirit surround her. “You are as saddened by all of this as I am.”

Kimberly’s spirit leaves the now freely crying Maddie and approaches the Rangers. Everyone but Tommy steps back as if now afraid of the spirit. Tommy stands still and allows Kimberly’s sad spirit to wrap about his body even as his tears start flowing down his face. Tommy walks silently to Maddie’s side and wraps his arms about her body. “Give us some time to digest all of this, sister.” Tommy says quietly. “I’ll still be your friend and brother, even if the others won’t have anything to do with you.”

“I agreed to become your sister because Jason needed me with him, in public.” Maddie sighed sadly. “There is no need for Kimberly Madeline Oliver to exist. Jason’s heart has turned from me now. I will live in the Command Center with my father and mother until mother returns to Eltar. Then I will go home for the final time. There I will live out my life without friends, family, or any to ever touch me again. I am a walking dead person on Eltar, a trapped spirit that has escaped its fate and now lives again. Once on Eltar I will never be spoken to, touched, or even looked at ever again. I will live my life in my father’s house, confined during the day and only be allowed outside after the normal people have gone to their homes and locked their doors. Even my father and mother’s servants won’t notice that I exist. Food will be left for me to eat, drink will be provided, but companionship will forever be denied to me now.”

“You would turn you back on my daughter because of who I am?” Scorpina asked as she gathered Maddie into her arms. “Look at her! She is willing to return to the world of her birth and live as a non-person. Someone that even a beggar shuns. No doctor will ever touch her to treat an injury, even if that injury would result in her death. No one will ever do anything to help her again should I take her to Eltar. She will become a living, breathing ghost on Eltar.”

“I will speak with her, touch her, love her, and care for her.” Tommy said from Maddie’s side. “She’s helped me too many times as a spirit and I will not allow Kimberly’s gift to Maddie to result in her punishment for existing. I will give the powers of the White Ranger to Jason and I’ll take care of Maddie. I know that Jason is the one that you hold so deeply in your heart and soul Maddie, but I’ll try to care for you, as he would have. Stay, please? Don’t let Kimberly’s gift to you be turned into an existence that will be a lonely, living hell for you?”

“I can’t Tommy, but thank you for your compassion.” Maddie said sadly as she kissed his cheek lightly. “Eltarian people bond with but one person in their lifetimes. My spirit bonded with Jason’s even before I was murdered. I cannot be with anyone else, ever. The pain of my staying with you will hurt Jason badly now. His heart is hardened to me forever more. Better a lonely existence as a living ghost than watching him flirt, dance, and love another now. I would return to my ghostly existence here, trapped to this world forever, if it were possible; however, Kimberly has seen fit to gift me with life. Just not the kind of life she wished for me to have. Goodbye to all of you my former friends and to you Tommy my last friend. I will not intrude upon your duties as Rangers and will hide when you are in the Command Center. You will not know I exist ever again.”

Scorpina and the others watch as the pink glow of Kimberly’s spirit darkens to an almost magenta color as Maddie teleports away in tears. Kimberly’s spirit moves toward the others and only Adam, Billy, Trini, and Zack stand their ground and allow her to touch them.

“Oh shit.” Tommy breathes quietly. “Kimmy’s pissed off to the max at them right now. I don’t want to be in their shoes and I really don’t want to be in Jason’s.”

Adam, Billy, Trini, and Zack take the verbal lashing of Kimberly’s angry spirit with tears streaming down their faces. Tommy, Scorpina, Goldar, and Finster watch as quietly the others join their three friends as Kimberly dresses them down for their treatment of Maddie. When she’s done, Kimberly surrounds only Jason and somehow forces his un-powered body into morphing surge overload. Jason groans as Kimberly disappears in a pink mist and Tommy looks at Scorpina’s surprised face. “I told you I didn’t want to be in Jason’s shoes when Kimberly finished with him. I know those signs well, she just somehow sent Jase into surge overload and the only way he’ll be able to relieve it is with Maddie’s help.”

“You know young Kimberly well, Tommy.” Sabrina said and everyone looked on amazed as Scorpina’s form shifted to that of a young woman that looked remarkably like Maddie. “This is how all of you will see me from now on. Scorpina ceases to exist this day. Her friendship with Rita is over. She will never touch another of my family again. That includes my husband’s family of Power Rangers.”

“Bro!” Jason cried as Kimberly’s spirit released him. “Oh god, she’s sent me into overload and I need Maddie. Call her bro, please, call Maddie to me?”

“I can’t Jase.” Tommy said sadly. “Maddie’s left and won’t come back to us now. You are going to have to teleport to the Command Center and hunt her down. It’s a good thing you aren’t able to morph because with the overload Kimmy put into you, you’d die. Go, find Maddie and beg her forgiveness. I only wish Kimmy had sent all of you to her. You were assholes to her.”

“We know,” Billy said sadly. “Kimberly pounded that so far into my brain that I have a massive headache. She couldn’t send me into surge because I have an active power, Jase doesn’t. That’s how she managed that trick.”

“Kimberly will take pity on Jason after a while.” Trini says smiling at the others as she holds her own pounding head. “She’ll eventually lead Jason to where Maddie’s hiding and they’ll work things out, the three of them.”

“Kimberly was right.” Zack said sadly. “I loved Maddie like a little sister before I knew her parentage. Just because she’s not from Earth doesn’t mean I stopped caring and loving for her. It just took me for a complete loop to find out that Scorpina is Zordon’s wife and Maddie’s mother.”

“Zapped all of us silly.” Rocky said quietly. “I think Tommy is the only one of us without a massive headache.”

“I don’t have one.” Kat said happily as she stood near Tommy’s side. “I watched Tommy step to Maddie’s side and offer his life to her and I cheered inside for his love of her. Maddie gave Tommy his life today when she became corporeal and allowed him to ease his surge overload inside of her. I can never hate her for that gift, ever.”
“Then you’re one of the lucky ones, Kat.” Aisha groaned as she slid to the ground. “My head is pounding so hard I think Bulk has used it for a punching bag.”

Scorpina waved her hand and smiled, as the Ranger’s afflicted with headaches sighed in relief. “My daughter wouldn’t approve of any of you suffering because of her pain.” Sabrina said as she helped them all off the ground. “Now, let’s get to the Command Center and help young Jason track Maddie’s position. I’m sure Kimberly’s loving spirit will allow us to help him that much at least.”

Everyone laughs as they teleport away and they’re shocked when Goldar and Finster appear in the Command Center with them. Finster and Goldar’s shapes shimmer and standing before them are two men that look like normal humans. “Welcome to my home, Gordon and Frank.” Zordon greets them as they look around in wonder. “I am assuming that you’re accompaniment of my wife means that you’ve decided to help us defeat the forces of evil now too?”

“I only came for a quick visit your majesty.” Finster/Frank said happily. “I will return to my workshop on the moon so that I might continue my sabotage for the council.”

“I see Frank, thank you for your honesty.” Zordon says a smile in his voice. “What about you Gordon?”

“I will abide here for a time and then I too must return to the moon so that I might continue to pass on information to you my sister’s husband.” Goldar/Gordon says formally as he bows to Zordon’s tube.

“Has young Jason discovered where our daughter is hiding yet?” Sabrina asked as she too looked around the Command Center.

“Not yet; however, I do believe that Kimberly is leading him purposely in the wrong direction right now.” Zordon said a smile in his voice. “Madeline is comfortably ensconced in what would have been our room here on Earth, my love. A pink mist is even now leading Jason into the depths of this facility. I do believe that Kimberly’s spirit intends to make sure he has plenty of time to think before she relents and leads him to our daughter.”

“Does Maddie know of the condition that Kimberly has placed Jason’s body into?” Billy asks quickly then blushes.

“Kimberly’s spirit spent time with Maddie before she started leading Jason on this wild goose chase throughout the entire complex Billy.” Zordon answers with a smile and love in his voice, “Maddie is even now showering and dressing for when Kim will lead Jason to her. She’s listened to Kimberly’s words about Jason’s heart not rejecting her and has accepted that it was his mind only that was closed for a time today.”

“Good.” Tommy says smiling. “Just someone please tell Kim to have a small amount of pity on Jase. He’s only an ex-ranger and human. His body can only take so much before he’ll give out or else that his body will overload his brain and he’ll attempt to rape Maddie again.”

“Rape my daughter? When did this occur?” Sabrina said angrily.

“Never, my love.” Zordon said a smile in his voice. “Madeline knew about the hormone surge that morphing seems to cause in human physiology, especially teenagers. She was prepared for the surge in the team, but not for the actions of the men when they powered down. Alpha got her away from them and she began the bond with Jason that day. Jason will never hurt Maddie, love. She is as precious to him as she is to us.”

“I should hope so.” Sabrina smiled as Tommy looked up at Zordon in wonder. “Maddie’s held a Ranger powers before hasn’t she?”

“Maddie held the powers of the Silver Ranger.” Zordon said quietly to all of their astonished faces. “Her Eltarian Ranger Powers won’t work here on Earth. She knows the surge of morphing as well as the depression of passing on the powers. Which is why her love for all of you, through Jason, allowed her to heal your spirits when you needed her. Jason’s immediate love and bonding to you, Tommy, also gave Madeline the strength to come to you as a spirit and help to heal your soul from Rita’s evil use of you, even though you were one of the instruments Rita used to hurt her with.”

“I am forever grateful that she was willing to help me heal after what I learned of Rita’s doing to her through me.” Tommy said a sad note in his voice and everyone watched amazed as a mist of Pink surrounded him quickly. “I’m not hurting, Beautiful.” Tommy said quietly into the mist. “Just sad because of what I was forced to do when evil. Maddie has already healed me from that two years ago and today she helped Jason and the others to lift the rest of the darkness inside of my soul. Give Jason some help and ease the surge some Kim. He’s not held powers in almost a year now. He’ll kill himself trying not to hurt Maddie.”

The mist around Tommy faded and he smiled as he looked at Kat’s sad face. “I’ve called her Beautiful since the day we met Kat. You are as beautiful to me as Kimberly was and her spirit is. But Beautiful was my name for Kim. I don’t mean to cause you pain over speaking with her like that.”

“You’ve never called me anything but Kat or Kitten.” Kat said quietly. “Your nickname for Kimberly is more loving that the ones you use with me.”

“You are a kitten, my Kat.” Tommy said as he gathered the sad young woman into his arms. “There is nothing more precious than the first days of life to anyone and what better nickname for you than Kitten. It signifies my deep abiding love for you more than anything else I could think to call you. You are my life, Katherine Hillard. You and the others did everything to help me heal from the wounds Kimberly caused with her letter. Between your and Maddie’s love, I was able to look at the world through the eyes of love once again. That is when I finally realized that I’d always been attracted to you from the day we met. A kitten is a what you’d call a newborn cat and I’ve called you that from the day my ability to love was reborn inside of my heart by you.”

“Very eloquent, Tommy.” Maddie said from behind them, startling everyone. “Your pain over Kimberly’s desertion of you was deep and it took a few weeks for me to heal your soul. He speaks the truth to you Kat. He calls you Kitten, not to deride you, but to honor the rebirth of love within his soul and heart that you caused to spark to life again.”

“Why are you here and not waiting for Jase?” Billy asked smiling at the silver robe Maddie wore.

“I felt Kimberly’s worry over Tommy’s pain.” Maddie said looking at the others and smiling. “We are still connected to each other, for now. I came to see if I could ease his pain by sharing with him my memories of his care and gentleness with me while Rita’s prisoner. He couldn’t deny the needs of his body while morphed and her binding my body where I could only helplessly wait for him, kept me from shifting and breaking her evil spell over him. As I told my mother at the cemetery, vaginal penetration would have immediately broken the spell the Sword of Darkness held over Tommy. Rita knew that I was privy to this information and she made sure that I could never move enough for Tommy to take me that way.”

“I would have died from shame at that moment.” Tommy said truthfully, yet quietly to Maddie. “To have come to my senses buried inside of your body while Rita watched and gloated over what she was having me do to you would have stopped my heart completely.”

“I know, brave one.” Maddie said quietly. “Which is why I never moved once you were in the room with me. I kept still and relaxed as much as I was able. It pains my own soul to know that I could have shifted myself easily and kept the others safe from Rita, yet Jason would have lost the brother his soul demanded had I done so. I walk a fine line with my mental abilities to read people’s minds and hearts. Your heart hurt so badly that I took those memories from you; however I never realized that the memories of attacking the other Rangers would result in your suicide attempt. I was able to ease your distress some, without Rita’s knowledge. When she discovered that I had assisted my father in breaking the spell over you that is when she began carving those arcane and unholy symbols into my body. I knew then that I would die by her hands; my only thoughts were happy ones because I’d given the Rangers a person to love and care for as they did me. My spirit was trapped here, bound forever to this world, and I used that to help out my father’s adoptive family when I could. That is why I appeared to you in a dream first, Tommy. I didn’t want you to remember my face; however, your suicide attempt forced me to manifest, using my mental powers and take you to Jason. I had to pretend to be alive until three days later when Rita teleported my dead body into the Command Center. I cannot reach my father to alleviate any of his pain from that day. His entrapment in that warp keeps my mind from his. I could ease all of your souls as you grieved at my gravesite and I did; however, Jason’s soul and spirit grabbed onto mine and bound me tightly to him that day. I was dismayed to find myself trapped again, only this time by Jason’s deep love for me. Jason has been hurt time and again when I had to physically manifest to assist his friends; however your thoughtfulness in bringing him to my grave allowed me to ease his pain enough to continue living. Had Jason followed me, his spirit would have been free to continue its journey to the next life, while mine remained trapped here forever.”

“I know love.” Jason said gruffly from the other side of the room. “Zordon told me what happened to you at Rita’s hands about two days after your body was sent to him. I came into the Command Center to speak with him about leaving the team because your presence was stripped from our lives. I was going to quit because all I wanted to do was to teleport to the moon and slit Rita’s evil throat myself. Zordon was grieving badly too. He told me about the sigils Rita carved into your body before she killed you and just what those arcane signs meant to your spirit. I knew that day that I’d never be able to hold you again unless I could bind you to me. Zordon gave me the means to bind us the day of your funeral. He taught me how to open my heart, mind, and soul to feel your presence and how to hold it there until you could no longer leave. He told me that by doing that for you that when I my own spirit left this world that the bond would take yours with me.”

By the time Jason has finished speaking he has moved to Maddie’s side and is holding her gently in his strong arms. “Kimberly took the surge from me, but I’d like to show you how much I love you. Will you let me love you again Maddie?”

Maddie’s tear filled eyes look deep into Jason’s own shining eyes and she nods once as the two are teleported by Billy to someplace private. “Kimberly, don’t you dare share their time with us and you leave them be. They’ll heal each other now.” Billy said happily to the pink mist hovering nearby.

“I would never do that to either of them.” Kimberly’s voice issued from the mist. “All of you should leave though, because this joining will be loud. Not vocally loud, but mentally. Maddie and Jason are bonding in the ways of Eltar right now. Their mental energies will overwhelm anyone not from Eltar or a spirit. I will watch over them for all of you. Go home and sleep, today has been a trying day for us all.”

“We’ll stay.” Billy said looking at the determined faces around him. “Maddie has touched our hearts, souls, and minds so deeply over the last two years that we need to be here for both of them. Don’t ask me how I know this, but our joining together in love as they do will enhance their experience and bind them to all of us.”

“My daughter has indeed touched all of you deeply during her time as a living person and as a spirit.” Sabrina said a smile of love in her voice. “You have all felt her touch your minds with love, joy, and happiness over the years. You will not be required to join them physically; yet I feel from both of their minds that is what they wish for all of you. To share their happiness as they complete that which was started the day Madeline gave herself willingly to Jason.”

Sabrina stepped to the console Billy had used just moments before and teleported all of the Rangers, past and present into the room with Jason and Maddie. She smiled up at Zordon’s own smiling face. “This will strengthen them for the changes to come. Master Vile is even now on his way here. He plans to turn time backwards until all of them are ten once again. That will stop them from morphing to fight against his monsters; however, it will lead them to search out the Zeo Crystal that is buried under the moon palace. Our daughter’s Eltarian Silver Powers will again be active when the Zeo Crystal becomes the new power source for the Rangers. She will fight by their side willingly then.”

“I have read the signs in the Morphin Grid of Master Vile’s approach and I have already discovered the location of the Zeo Crystal; however only five of the seven rangers will have an active role in the defense of this world. Jason will again be a ranger, as will Zack and Trini. Billy will be left out this time and that will hurt his heart badly. I don’t believe that even Kimberly will be able to ease his pain without help.” Zordon told his wife sadly.

“Billy will have a power.” Sabrina said smiling. “You forget that before I took the likeness of Scorpina and joined Rita’s service as a mercenary, for the council of course, that I was the White Ranger of Eltar. I still have that crystal and will gladly relinquish it into one of our adoptive children to protect this world you now call home.”

“My love, your boundless goodwill and love for all of my rangers will never cease to amaze me.” Zordon said sadly. “Were I capable of ever loving you physically again, I would take you to bed right now and show you just how much and how deeply you are loved by me.”

“I know how much you love me, Zordon.” Sabrina said sadly. “We will never be together again, physically; however we are both powerful enough, mentally, to join our minds and souls in love forever. We will never be parted from each other while we are still capable of that.”

Sabrina is astounded when Kimberly’s pink mist surrounds Zordon’s tube and then completely aghast as the tube melts away and leaves Zordon standing physically before her. “How?” Sabrina breathed as she looked into her husband’s astonished face.

“Kimberly’s spirit took my place.” Zordon said quietly as a tear ran down his face. “She sacrificed her existence as a spirit trapped to this world by taking my place. When her spirit entered the warp I was trapped in, she ceased to exist because she left the world she was bound too. That sacrifice ejected my body from the warp into the world in which her spirit came from. She will no longer ever be able to care for her friends or wrap them in her giving and loving thoughts.”

Sabrina smiled as she saw a pink mist emerge from the remains of Zordon’s tube. “She survived my love.” Sabrina said as she and Kimberly wrapped him into their loving embrace. Zordon cried openly then and both women comforted him until he was finished. Kimberly’s spirit then left for a short time and then returned and sank into Sabrina’s body. Sabrina gasped as she felt the now tiny spirit begin new life within her. “We are going to have another child, my love.” Sabrina said a smile on her face. “She will be well loved by her older brothers and sisters when she arrives and her name will be Kimberly.”

“She figured out that rebirth will allow her to break Rita’s evil then?” Zordon said happily as he placed his hands protectively about Sabrina’s lower abdomen. “Yes, her older brother and sister Rangers will welcome her to this world and love her completely.”

Zedd watched from his place on the moon as Zordon and Sabrina walked from the Command Center and sat beneath the stars of Earth. “Damn it!” He growled as Goldar cowered nearby. “That spell Tommy intercepted should have never been able to be broken by those power brats and now somehow that insufferable Eltarian Zordon has escaped from the dimensional time warp Rita trapped him in. How could my spell have backfired so badly? Only a spirit could have released that spell on Tommy. There were no spirits nearby until Kimberly died recently. How?”

“My liege.” Goldar growled softly. “Rita killed, before you came, a good friend of the Power Rangers; Jason’s girlfriend to be exact. Could her spirit have been the one to free Tommy from your spell?”

“Rita’s insufferable incompetence is going to result in my downfall.” Zedd raged. “Why didn’t you tell me this before I put that spell on Tommy?”

“You didn’t specify how it could be removed my liege.” Goldar cowered and shook with fear. “I know nothing of the workings of your powerful magic. Forgive me for not speaking up.”

“You are lucky that Rita is the one that is going to incur my wrath over this failure, Goldar.” Zedd said menace in his voice. “Go, leave my sight; before I forget that I owe my ‘wife’ for her bumbling before I got here.”

“Yes, my liege.” Goldar said quickly as he scurried to Finster’s lab.

Finster looked up at the smile on Goldar’s face and he returned it with one of his own. Finster locked the lab doors and set up devices to show if they were being observed by any magical or mechanical means before the two talked quietly together.

“Zordon is free of his prison.” Goldar said quietly to Finster. “Zedd is pissed at Rita because I let drop her killing of Maddie before Zedd got here and suggested her spirit was responsible for breaking the spell on Tommy. Sabrina and Zordon are together again as they should be.”

“I am glad.” Finster answered quietly. “Queen Sabrina and King Zordon have always loved each other so deeply. His entrapment is what sent our lady into the service of the council in the first place. I do hope they have another child soon. She wanted one so badly after Maddie’s death by Rita’s evil hands.”

“I think another child will be had by them.” Gordon says smiling as he looks at Finster. “They already have their adopted children in the Rangers; however, I do believe that my sister will be able to convince her husband to give her another child with no problems.”

“Someone comes.” Finster said and the two removed the lock on the door and hid the detection devices as Zedd stormed into the lab glowing red with his anger. “Rita said that Tommy is the one responsible for the killing of the prisoner she held here.” Zedd ranted at Goldar. “Prove to me that an innocent died at the hands of my wife, Goldar.”

“I watched her cut the sigils of entrapment into the living flesh of the child, my lord.” Finster said quietly. “She chanted the spell of life as she trapped the spirit of the child she held captive here to use against the Rangers. I watched her complete the spells as she uncaringly broke the child’s neck and then sent the body into the Command Center of the Power Rangers. Apparently the female she killed was the girlfriend of the then Red Ranger, Jason.”

“She use the sacred symbols on an innocent?” Zedd roared in anger. “The spell of entrapment is only used on an evil soul and by chanting the spell of life as she worked, she guaranteed that soul would forever be held to the one that loved it. That stupid witch can’t do anything right. That soul would come to Jason’s need and Jason returned to help Tommy through this. That is how they broke my spell. Damn her to goodness; she’ll pay for this mistake dearly.”

Zedd stormed from the room and Finster smiled at Goldar as he left.

“Rita has displeased Zedd one too many times recently.” Finster said quietly. “I don’t believe we will see her face for about three months or so.”

“Good,” Goldar replied quietly. “Her face is bad enough without having to put up with that shrill whine of hers about a headache every time she fails. Zedd can deal with her, me I’m going to bed and sleeping until he bellows for me again.”

Finster smiled as Goldar left his lab and he too retired for a long restful sleep. Even Rita’s screams of pain didn’t wake him as Zedd took his wrath out on his wife.

Six months later, Master Vile succeeded in destroying the power coins and then the Command Center. The Rangers bravely left through time holes and returned as adults with the pieces of the Zeo Crystal. The timeline was returned to normal with one exception. Tanya Slone returned from Africa in Aisha Campbell’s place with the yellow Zeo Crystal. Zack and Trini turned down the request for the search and the two were never Rangers again. Jason took the powers of the Gold Ranger from Trey of Triforia and Billy was healed of his unnatural aging and never traveled a second time to Aquitar. His possession of the White Zeo Crystal healed him fully and he fought by the side of the Rangers until the Turbo powers were needed to defeat Divatox and rescue Jason and Maddie from her grasp. Rocky’s injury had him giving Justin Stewart his Zeonizers and the young teen joined the Rangers as the Blue Turbo Ranger. Maddie and Jason barely survived their evil possession by Maligore on Murithanis; however, they did survive and eventually cleansed the darkness from their souls with the help of the other rangers. Two days after Tommy, Adam, Tanya and Kat turn their Turbo Powers over to TJ Johnson, Carlos Valerte, Ashley Hammond, and Cassie Chan everyone of the Rangers past and present were witnesses when Jason Lee Scott took Madeline Annabelle Fontaine as his wife in a small ceremony held in the park across from the Youth Center. The reception in the Youth Center was a lively one and all of the Rangers held Maddie’s one month old little sister, Kimberly Sabrina Fontaine.

Jason and Maddie moved into Billy’s house after the service and reception. Billy’s father had sold them the house when he moved back east unexpectedly. Billy’s shock was complete when Maddie and Jason insisted that he still live in the house with them. Six months later Billy’s life was devastated when the news of his father’s death from cancer reached him at California Technical College. Billy used his communicator and for the first time since the Turbo powers were needed, teleported into his living room. Jason and Maddie comforted Billy as best they could and only little Kimberly’s almost constant presence in his arms helped him recover enough to return to school six months later.

Nine months later, Billy graduated from Cal Tech with honors and all the Rangers were present when he did. Billy worked for the NASADA base and kept the secret of the Rangers as they chased Divatox into space with Zordon’s fake warp tube. Billy returned to his childhood home early one evening to find Jason and Maddie sitting dejectedly on the couch crying. He gathered the two into his arms and called Sabrina to bring the now two-year-old Kimberly over to visit her older sister. Sabrina, Zordon, and Kimberly arrived within minutes and even the presence of her sister couldn’t ease Maddie and Jason’s pain. It seemed that Maddie wasn’t capable of having children with Jason. Something about the spells Rita used upon her when she died kept her from carrying another soul within her body. All the Rangers rallied around the hurting couple and one year later, Jason and Maddie helped Aisha Cranston, Billy’s new wife, to deliver their son. Aisha and Billy both smiled happily as they watched Jason and Maddie hold the small squirming bundle they’d wished and wanted for years. Modern science was able to bypass Rita’s evil by taking an unfertilized egg from Maddie, sperm from Jason, and combining them outside of the womb and then inserting the fertilized egg into Aisha who happily carried the baby for the couple. The doctor that delivered Thomas David Scott smiled as he watched his son’s friends rejoice in the birth of their son. Adam Park’s father smiled happily as he, his son, and the other Rangers were present as little Tommy made his debut into the world of life. Jason and Maddie had six more children by surrogate mothers, all of whom were former Rangers. When their last child was born, all of the Rangers were happy for the couple.

Maddie, being Eltarian had a longer life span than a normal human and with her bond to Jason, his was extended as well. The couple, along with Maddie’s parents and little sister mourned as each of their friends and former teammates left on their journeys into the next life. Zordon was the first of the Eltarian family to pass away twenty years after the emergence of the Space Patrol Delta Rangers in New Tech City. Sabrina followed soon behind him. Maddie and Jason took Kimberly into their lively and full household and then only Maddie and Kimberly were in the house. Jason lived to see his youngest daughter happily married and then he died peacefully in his sleep three nights later. Kimberly knew that Maddie wanted to join her husband in the next life, but needed Maddie desperately. Maddie held onto life for Kimberly’s sake and when Kimberly married the great-grandson of Tommy and Katherine Oliver, Maddie deeded the house to the new couple and died three days later in her sleep.

“We’ll miss Aunt Maddie.” Jason Oliver said sadly at the gravesite. “All of our parents passed years ago and Aunt Maddie was the one constant in all of our young lives.”

“Maddie will be missed, but she will also be loved again by Grandpa Jason.” Billy’s grandson said quietly to all of them as he stood by with tears on his face. “They loved each other so much that nothing could keep them apart.”

“I kept them apart.” Kimberly said quietly from the protection of Jason’s strong arm about her shoulders. “I knew Aunt Maddie wanted to join Uncle Jason, but I wasn’t old enough for her to leave me alone yet. Aunt Maddie stayed and cared for me until I married, now she’s with all of our grandparents in the next stage of life.”

“I’ve read Granddad’s journals, love.” Jason said quietly to her. “I know you are the spitting image of Kimberly Hart and that you are not Aunt Maddie’s niece, but her little sister. I also know that you are Eltarian too. Maddie stayed because you needed her, just as she stayed when Rita Repulsa killed her almost a century ago now. We all love you Kimberly, you’ve been in our lives forever and we accept you as you are. The circle is now complete and the bodies of the first Power Rangers of Earth lie here in the cemetery. Their spirits are still here watching over us. They refused to leave this world without Jason and Maddie. Now that Maddie has joined them, they will stay with her and watch over their families for time, and then they will move onto the next life when we’re all happy. On that day we will rejoice for their legacy of love and protection of this world has given us a world of peace and good forever.”

“You know that I’m almost thirty years older than you and you don’t mind, love?” Kimberly asked as the others gasped in shock.

“No beautiful, I don’t mind.” Jason answered her kissing her lightly on the lips. “We know that Eltarian people age slower than Earthlings do now. You’d still be my beautiful Kimberly until we both reach the ripe old age of three centuries.”

“Eltarian, but how?” Zack Park asked shocked. “The last Eltarian couple living on Earth was Zordon and Sabrina. They’ve been dead almost thirty years now.”

“Kimberly is their daughter, she is also the reborn spirit of Kimberly Ann Hart, first Pink Mighty Morphin Power Ranger.” Jason Oliver said proudly. “Kimberly committed suicide and gave her body to Aunt Maddie. Rita Repulsa had killed Aunt Maddie horribly two years earlier. Kimberly’s gift to Aunt Maddie allowed her to live again; however, all of us know that all of Aunt Maddie and Uncle Jason’s children were born to the other female rangers. Our parents told us this and so did both Aunt Maddie and Uncle Jason. Maddie was the first and presumed only daughter to ever be born, in Eltarian eyes, to Zordon and Sabrina. However granddad’s journals say that just after Maddie and Jason were reunited after Kimberly’s death, that Sabrina became pregnant with Kimberly’s spirit, after she freed Zordon from his warp tube. Granddad Tommy didn’t go into much detail with the journals, but with Tanya and Adam Cranston’s help we hacked the computers that were buried under the site of the old Ranger Base we’ve all camped around at some point in our lives. Those computers tell the entire story of our great-grandparent’s lives as the first Power Rangers of Earth. We all carry within us the genes of the original protectors of our world. All of us are the grandchildren and direct descendants of the first Power Rangers. Zachary Taylor and Trini Kwan married. Katherine Hillard and Tommy Oliver married. Adam Park and Tanya Slone married. Rocky DeSantos married Cassie Chan. Jason Scott married Madeline Fontaine, Zordon and Sabrina’s daughter. Finally William Cranston married Aisha Campbell. All of us have Power Rangers as grandparents, and all of our parents are the sons and daughters of Power Rangers. We have all grown up together and yet still the power inside of each of us calls to the power in the other. We all have seemed to find our wives and husbands from among the large and ever growing circle of those that have held Ranger powers. Today the circle closes because now Kimberly Hart’s soul joins ours as we mourn Aunt Maddie and all of the original Rangers. May the Power protect them all forever.”

“May the Power protect them all forever.” The fifty-seven grandchildren all said together as they left the cemetery quietly.

“Our children have hacked into the computers.” The first sons and daughters of the original Rangers say as they watch from a secluded spot. “Young Jason Oliver and the Cranston twins did the hacking. Our parents stories will again circulate and keep their memories alive in the generations to come.”

“We will always be protected by the power.” Tom Scott said proudly as he watched his Aunt being led from the cemetery by her loving husband. “The power of the Morphin Grid as well as the power of our parents love for us and this world will be with us forever. Mom’s death today didn’t complete the circle as young Jason Oliver thought. It only made room for more generations to take her place.”

“At least Momma and Daddy are together now.” Sabrina Scott-Cranston said from the protection of her husband’s arm. “Daddy’s spirit and the spirits of the others have been so lonely without her.”

“We know Brina.” Jason William Oliver said as he patted her hand comfortingly. “Aunt Maddie’s spirit will be with them now and their spirits will rest for a time together rejoicing for her and Uncle Jason.”

“I wonder if our children realize that we aren’t going to leave this mortal world soon and their lives have been extended even further by the legacy of our parents?” Ron DeSantos says quietly to no one in particular.

“They know our children.” Maddie’s voice speaks from behind them. The thirty children turn to see the spirits of their parents smiling happily around Maddie’s.

“We love all of you.” Jason says proudly as their spirits envelope their children with love. The children all relax as their parent’s spirits surround them and their hearts are lifted in the knowledge that their parents are again happy and whole.

“Dad,” Tom Scott asks quietly. “Why is it always you and mom that we can hear audibly, yet I can feel the love of all the other parents as they surround us?”

“Because your mother is the key to our being able to speak with any of you.” Jason told him with a smile in his voice. “Yes, Billy he questions things just like you used to do.”

The children laugh brightly as they feel Billy’s love surrounding them all too. “Your mother’s mental powers were developed by her time as a spirit and my bonding her spirit to my own before Kimberly’s gift allowed her to speak with the others when they needed to hear her voice. That same gift is why you have always been able to hear me speak or to hear your parents speak with you when I was there. Maddie gave all of us a very precious gift when she touched our souls with her love. She gave our descendants and us the power to feel the presence of the spirits that are here to be seen; yet nobody seems to care for them. I loved Maddie so much that when she died I wanted to follow her into death. Her father’s words and assistance in binding her spirit to mine helped to ease the pain of her passing. I first learned that Maddie was dead the day of her funeral; however, I’d seen her just hours before helping Tommy over the pain of Rita’s evil. It confused me and I went to Zordon. He explained about the arcane spell that Rita cut into Maddie’s living body as she cast another one verbally over her to keep her alive. Rita then broke Maddie’s neck and teleported her body into the Command Center as she gloated to Zordon over killing his only child. Zordon knew that Rita had messed up casting the spell of binding on Maddie’s spirit. Apparently that spell should have only been cast on an evil being and it would allow them to possess another body. That is how Maddie returned to life with Kimberly’s gift.”

“We know the rest of the story dad.” Tom said smiling. “You and mom have told all of us this story for so many years that we all know it by heart. Even Uncle Andros and Aunt Ashley have told their kids about it. Uncle Zhane and Aunt Karone too.”

“Aunt Maddie has always been a special person to all of us and her bright smiling face will be missed by us and our children for years to come.” Jason Oliver said smiling at his Uncle’s spirit. “Let dad know that his namesake is turning out to be just like he was, addicted to the speed of a racecar. He’s racing just like dad did.”

“Your father knows that Jason.” Maddie said as she watched Tommy hug his son and Jason Oliver smiled as he felt his father’s spirit around him.

“Thanks dad.” Jason Oliver said a bright smile on his face. “We’re going home now. We have a wake for Aunt Maddie to conduct.”

The first children of the original Rangers and those that followed in their footsteps quietly leave the cemetery and teleport to where the Power Chamber used to stand. They are met there by their own children and their husbands or wives. The large group of Power Ranger descendants sits around a large campfire and quietly remembers their parents and grandparents. This tradition started with Zordon’s death and has continued ever since.

To this day when one of the Power Rangers dies, the entire family of Power Rangers from all over the universe meets at the site and remembers their lives with stories told from generation to generation about the first Power Rangers of Earth and Zordon of Eltar. During this time, should any of them care to look outside of the large ring of people, there is a large group of spirits smiling happily down upon their descendants and love is felt by all during the Time of Remembrance as it has come to be called.
