Stars

First he could only see darkness, but then stars exploded in his eyes, mingling in his mind until they burned his soul with a passion almost too intense to bear. They fueled his movements as he held the Taelon close to his body, the soft, sensual sounds of their kissing filling the air. Their experience was limited, but they quickly learned, together.

Pent-up desire made their actions fervent, urgent, yet love and tenderness managed to temper their caresses, making them take the time to savour every precious moment, every new discovery of their bodies. It was a new experience for both of them, as human and Taelon, Companion and Protector, friends who had grown to know each other well, and anxious as they were to find completion in each other's embrace, every new touch was something to be treasured and enjoyed.

A hand traveled over the surface of glassy Taelon skin, glowing as it naturally should and not hidden by a human façade. The human to whom the hand belonged to marveled at the smooth, soft texture, teasing and exploring and finding sensitive spots as it went along. A stroke along a brightly-lit energy pathway resulted in a lovely melodic moan, and a knowing smile from his partner as he repeated the gesture, the delicate friction quickly undoing the alien he lay squirming in his lover's arms.

Never had they experienced intimacy with each other, and yet they seemed to know each other's bodies as though they had shared the same heart and soul for a thousand years. All it had taken was a shy admission of love, the shocking discovery that the love was shared, and finally inhibitions were shed, both physically and emotionally, fear and self-doubt fading away to allow simple, unadulterated passion to reign.

Sensing the alien was nearing his peak, the hand withdrew from the deep caress and, laying his palm flat against his partner's beautifully glowing body, he trailed it lightly upwards, watching as a soft sparkling of pinkish energy lit the skin until his arousing touch. He let his fingertips just barely brush the Taelon's neck, his cheek, and finally his lips, fascinated by the coolness of the skin, and how it warmed almost instantly wherever his own skin made contact.

He leaned down and kissed those lips again, as they tingled and heated against his mouth. His Taelon's questing hands were dancing over his back now, just as eager to touch; pressing him, urging him closer as he in turn now explored the human's body, urgent and insistent, seemingly desperate to make up for time lost, for all the moments of love and passion they could have shared and yet never did because of their silence.

Soon the Taelon's light and tingly touch was everywhere on him, sparking wonderful electric pleasure wherever he made contact. His fleeting hand seemed to be deliciously burning everywhere, igniting flames of desire which coursed wildly through his veins until they settled in that very hot, very hard part of him, which his alien lover was now tenderly caressing.

A low moan of passion filled the air as the caress grew into slow, tentative strokes, bringing him so close to fulfillment it was nearly painful. He surely would have teetered over the edge had he not taken his lover's jewellike hand, interlacing his fingers with the slender, fluid ones as his lips hungrily sought the other's.

Their bodies moved against one another, Taelon energy dancing against human skin, sensuously, erotically, kindling sensations and bringing them to heights never reached by either. When a blossoming desire demanded more, the human reached down between then, guiding his straining arousal into the Taelon's body and entered, slowly and inch by inch, both their breaths turning quick and shallow from the intensity of it all, from finally experiencing the bonding they had both longed for for such a time. They took a moment to simply stop and feel, catching their breaths, before their bodies began moving of their own accord, seeking further contact.

Slow thrusts grew into a rapid pace, until they reached a maddening cadence. A burst of energy was shared between the bodies, breathy moans and low whimpers accompanying the apogee of pleasure as they shared the experience simultaneously. Energy pathways raced frantically, attempting to recover from the lost energy, and a heart pumped strongly, as both regained their strength. A soft kiss was sd and and a voice whispered…

"I love you …"

….. and Liam awoke, not with a start, but with a hazy feeling of well-being, which slowly faded as he became aware of his surroundings. Not the Embassy, not a Taelon-designed bed with a shining purple coverlet, but the drab décor of his apartment, and his own bed. Blinking a few times, he glanced to the other side of his bed. It was empty, of course. He knew that it would be, but he had to be sure.

Sighing, he tossed the covers off his body and got up, wearing nothing but tan boxers and sweat-covered skin. He strode to a window, stared out at the stars. It was well past midnight, but he knew he wouldn't be able to return to sleep. Not after that dream.

That same dream that had visited him for more nights than he could remember.

Liam pressed his forehead against the glass of the window, the coolness a relief from the heat of the dream. Silently, he wished that the line between fantasy and reality was not so difficult to cross, as he watched the stars burning bright in the sky…

…. And farther away, standing as soundlessly as the night, Da'an stood in the Embassy, staring at the same stars. The energy shower was still running, but he had left it quite some time ago, awakened again by that most peculiar dream.

Zo'or would most likely say that it was futile and primitive to waste time on thoughts and fantasies that would never be. And maybe, Da'an mused, he would be right.

Still, it couldn't change one's feelings. Or one's dreams.

A small sigh broke the quiet. Rest would not come tonight; Da'an settled down on the winding ramp, gazing outside at the stars as they continued to glow, brightly.
