Disclaimer: I own none of the 24 characters. I wish I owned Jack Bauer but unfortunatly I do not. I do however own Cal Duncan, CTU Director Duncan, Drake and various other made up characters.
A/N: Please. I'm a review whore. This story is just starting out, but I know where it's going. (Thank god.) New AFF writer. Give me some love.

CTU Director Duncan sat in his office, looking down at the staff of the Los Angeles CTU. Computer technicians scurried from station to station sharing and collecting information on the newly developing case.. David Palmer was recovering from the attack on his life and Jack Bauer was preparing to go into deep cover to infiltrate a terrorist cell that was selling a biological weapon. Director Duncan had been asked to step in unexpectedly from Department of Justice. The newly appointed director was in his mid fifties, wore a black suit, a blue tie accenting it. Bernard Duncan's hair was graying with age, a well-kept beard and mustache added to his sophisticated, yet gentle look. He turned from the window, clicking the blinds shut to look at the young woman sitting, looking painfully bored in the seat across from his desk.

"Cal, darling, please don't give me that look." Bernard took his glasses off and stared at her.
"Daddy, I promise I won't get in the way. I just want to go down and be around them." Cal Duncan sighed looking up at her father from her chair, he'd brought her to his work that day due to her profound interest with CTU.
"You're sixteen years old, I know you, you want to ask them questions and they need to work." The director reasoned with her, he was about to speak before a figure appeared at his door.

"Jack Bauer, it's a pleasure. Please, come in." Bernard motioned, Cal jumped up from her seat and offered it to the agent.
"No, I'll just be a moment. Director Duncan our computer technicians recieved notice of a potential terrorist threat that is supposed to take place within the hour." Jack said, walking to the middle of the office.
"Why did we recieve such sort notice? And are we considering this threat to be viable?" Duncan briefly glanced at his daughter but didn't dismiss her from the room.
"The information we recieved was encrypted and our systems and technicians only decoded the files a few minutes ago. Most threats are bluffs from different terrorist cells, however due to the specific nature of the time, we're taking it into consideration." Jack said, glancing at the young Duncan as well but saying nothing.
"Time is all we have?"
"Yes, sir. No location. There's not much we can do. Chances are this threat will be a hoax like the others. However, I've already notified the other CTU divisions and notice is currently being sent to DOJ who will notify the appropriate branches." Jack spoke. "That's all we've got for now, sir."
"Thank you, Jack. I'll do my best to keep up with your policies, but it seems you've got that covered for me. I know I'm new to CTU and it's appreciated that you are keeping me in the loop." Duncan nodded with a small smile.
"It's no problem, sir." Jack said taking a step back towards the door.
"My daughter needs transportation home, can that be set up, I can't leave CTU at the moment and I don't think she needs to be here." Duncan held up a finger to keep his daughter quiet.
"Of course. I'll get someone to drive her. They'll meet you out front. It was nice meeting you Director." He stepped forward to shake Bernard's hand. "Miss Duncan." He nodded and headed out the door.

"Dad! Why can't I stay? I don't want to go home. I feel safe here. Especially if something's going to happen." She stared at her father, looking somewhat hurt.
"Cal, sweetie, Jack even said it probably wouldn't pan out to be a real risk. It was just a precaution of his job. Now, come on. I'll have someone take you home, I'll walk you out to the car." Bernard ushered his daughter out towards the door.
"What if he's wrong? What if he just said that in front of me so I wouldn't panic? You're sending me home when terrorists could be attacking the US. Just let me stay until seven-thirty. Just to make me feel better." She reasoned, but Bernard pulled her along still.
"You'll be fine at home, I'll be back at the house before long." The gray-haired director said as they left the CTU building.

Director Bernard Duncan led his daughter to the black suburban double parked in the lot. He nodded at the three men that surrounded the SUV. "These men are going to drive you home. Nothing's going to go wrong from here to the house. I promise. Look. It's seven o'clock right now. By the time you get home it'll be nearly eight." He smiled kindly and threaded his fingers through her brown hair, pulling her close to kiss her forehead, one of the men opening the car door for her.
Jack had finally gotten in touch with someone who could spare time to drive the director's daughter home. If he hadn't used so much CTU time ushering his own family around he would have probably been more annoyed than he was. The agent that was going to drive Cal home would be ready in five minutes or so. Jack was told that the father-daughter pair had already headed out to the parking lot. He glanced at his watch. Damnit. Seven o'clock. Just be a fucking hoax.
Bauer opened the front door to CTU, looking around for the pair. His eyes locked onto them as they stood next to an unfamilar SUV near three men who he knew for a fact weren't working at his CTU office. Cal was climbing inside, his gun was already out.

"Get away from the truck Duncan!" Bauer shouted, gun raised. The men looked up. All three had their guns out. Three short pops fired off and Director Duncan dropped to the ground.

"Daddy!" Cal cried out, she was already viciously wrestling with the man who was shoving her back into the car. She was grabbing at anything she could, scratching at any piece of flesh, throwing punches and kicks. Her eyes met Jack's as he was already emptying his round at the car, he fired at the men who hadn't entered the car, not wanting to risk hitting the teenager.
"JACK!" Cal screamed before a small taser was pushed to the small of her back, rendering her silent and harmless to her captors. The car door slammed and Jack was running after the SUV, tires squealing as it peeled out of the lot.

Bauer barely took time to check the pulse of the obviously deceased Bernard Duncan before running to his car. He threw the truck into reverse and slammed his phone onto the wireless dock, speed dialing CTU.
"O'Brian." A curt female voice sounded.
"Chloe, it's Jack. Director Duncan has been killed. He's in the CTU parking lot. His daughter has been kidnapped. I'm following the SVU now. I need satellite surveillance and backup. Our seven o'clock terrorist threat has either just started to play out or there's more to come."
