Chapter 1
You Have to Get Out
Jack was closing in on the man who had the over-ride. They knew he was in a particular building in downtown LA but wasn’t sure what he looked like. They would have to carefully walk through the offices and hope they spotted him.
They only had about fifteen minutes to find the over-ride and disarm it.
Linda had spotted a man talking to Ali secretly and then saw him go up to the 29th floor. There was something going on but she wasn’t sure what it was. A little later she was walking past the control room and heard Ali phone the man and tell him that the CTU were in the building, his name was Marwan.
CTU – she hated that organization, they had killed her father a year ago and if they were looking for this man, then he was dead. No matter what he had done, she didn’t want them to get to him. They would torture him as they had her father if they took him alive. She had to warn him somehow, but first she had to find out what he looked like.
Getting a folder, she went up to the offices and walked in, no-one would take any notice of her. Going over to the coffee machine she poured out a coffee and took it with her. As she looked around, she spotted a man in a black jumper who was in turn looking round the office as he worked on the computer in front of him. It must be the man she was looking for. She also noticed two other men who had just walked into the office, they must be the CTU.
Going over to the man at the desk, she saw him working on the computer with a map of the nuclear reactors that had been on the news. So that was what he was doing. Linda stood next to him and put the coffee down as she whispered in his ear.
“Excuse me, if you are Marwan, you had better get out of here, two CTU officers are in the office, over there. Go up to the next floor, storage on the left of the elevator” she said.
Marwan didn’t have a chance to say anything as she was gone. But he grabbed his gun from under a folder and looked around. Sure enough, he spotted the two men. Switching off the computer, he got up and slowly walked towards the door, as innocently as he could. Just then his phone rang, it was Ali, he confirmed what she had told him and then he heard a shot as the man was killed. Turning into the corridor, he walked to the stairs and up to the next floor. If the VTU were there, it was a certainty that the building was surrounded. Finding the storage room, he went in, his gun raised in case it was a trap.
“Quickly, shut the door” said a voice
He looked and saw the woman who had warned him. He walked over to her.
“Who are you and why did you warn me?” he asked
“Look I overheard Ali talking to you and then I saw the CTU, I put two and two together okay” she replied
“But how did you know they were CTU and if I don’t get a good answer, I will kill you” he said pointing the gun at her.
She hadn’t expected him to pull the gun on her but she guessed it was understandable, he didn’t know who she was.
“Look, I know them because they killed my father last year. I have no reason to like them and I would help anyone to get away from them no matter what they were doing” she replied.
“Who was your father?” asked Marwan
“John Prescott, he headed the D.D. Denham corporation. They said he was pulling money out of the corporation to fund the PLF, he wasn’t but they didn’t believe him. He was tortured before he died. I have no love for CTU Marwan”
The man put the gun away and opened the door a bit to see if anyone was coming. He saw Curtis peering round the corner. He shut the door again and faced Linda.
“Okay how do I get out of here” he asked “they are just down the corridor”
“For the moment we will have to bluff it if they are already up here, then I will take you down the back way. There is a passageway that leads out to the street, it was put in case of earthquakes. Unless you work here, no-one knows about it”
“And how do we bluff it out? We are in a storage room for fucks sake” he said angrily.
They could hear the men getting closer as they checked every room. Just as they got to the door and the handle started to move, Linda grabbed Marwan and pulled him against the filing cabinet, the gun in between them, hoping he hadn’t got a itchy trigger finger. He was about to react to the men coming in when she kissed him, her arms round his neck. Just then the door opened.
“What the hell…” she said
Jack looked at the position of the two of them and realised what was going on and apologised, closing the door.
“Who were you talking to” asked Curtis
“Just a couple having some unofficial sex, suppose it happens everywhere. One of them must be married” he laughed as they checked the other rooms. Marwan pulled away from Linda slightly.
“Sorry” she said “I didn’t know what else to do that wouldn’t look out of place”
“I didn’t mind, just surprised me” he said
“Well I always did like to be spontaneous and take risks. And you are very attractive” she said softly “Okay let’s get you out of here”
“Not yet, they may still be out there” he replied running his hand through her hair.
“Could be…suppose we could wait for a while to make sure” she said “but then again they could seal off the whole place, then it would be impossible for you to get out”
The man nodded and as she opened the door, she made sure the men had gone, told him to follow her as she took him through an empty office to where the fire escape was at the end and down to the old passageway which led to the street.
When they got outside, he saw that they were just across the carpark from the building and he could see the CTU vehicles surrounding the place.
“Thank you for helping me” he said going to leave
“Hang on Marwan, I’m coming with you” she said
“No, I have to do this alone. Thanks again” he replied kissing her on the cheek.
He hurried off down the alley. Damn it, she thought, there was no way he was leaving like that, dangerous or not she was going to follow him. She ran off down the alley to see where he was. She managed to follow him for about five blocks before he disappeared into an old warehouse.
Going in the door, she listened to see if she could hear what direction he had gone. Suddenly a hand came over her mouth and she gasped. Turning round she found it was Marwan.
“Why are you following me?” he asked
“I…I wanted to see you. We never exchanged phone numbers or anything” she said trying to smile
“Phone numbers…damn Linda I could have shot you and asked after. I am not the sort of person you want to get mixed up with. I appreciate you getting me out of there but I have work to do. CTU have fucked my plans and I have to try something else. Now go”
“No, I don’t want to. I want to stay”
He was about to push her out of the door when she pulled him into another kiss. Grabbing her arms as though he was going to push her away, he suddenly slammed the door and started to deepen the kiss. They broke apart after a couple of minutes.
“I haven’t got time for this…I have to adjust my plans…I….oh damn” he said
He guided her into an old office where a desk stood covered in dust. Pushing off the things that laid on it, he backed Linda onto it. As he did, she pushed up his jumper baring his chest to her. Her mouth latched onto his nipples and she nibbled at them till he was arching against her. It had been a long time since he had been with a woman and she was turning him on.

Marwan looked at her and saw that she was serious. He nodded and taking her hand led her through the warehouse till they came to a room covered in maps, pictures etc. Going to a drawer, he took out a small pistol and handed it too her.
“If you are going to join me, you will need this. Or is this where you change your mind” he said
Linda looked at him and then at the gun. Walking over she took it from his hand, looked at it and then placed it in her waistband.
“I am not changing my mind Marwan. I want this…and I want you too”
