Sydney Bristow rolled over in her comfortable double bed and turned her head, staring at the sleeping figure beside her with a slight smile on her face. She brushed some silky blond hair out of Lauren Reed’s face and felt a pang of guilt as she realized that she had just slept with her ex-boyfriends current wife.
She sighed. When Lauren had asked her out to dinner the first time it had gone extremely well. So well, in fact, that they both felt as if it was an actual date. After that things began to get awkward between them. They would send each other pleasant smiles, exchange pleasantries, and stare into one another’s eyes with a longing expression that could only mean one thing: the sexual tension between them was mutual.
Their fist kiss had been accidental and happened two days after they had gone to dinner. Sydney had been typing up a report on a recent mission when Lauren had come to her and began watching her type over her shoulder. Their bodies were so close that Sydney could smell the mesmerizing perfume that Lauren wore and that alone was enough to send her into a state of confused lust.
Syd smiled, continuing to type, but slower than before.
“Am I distracting you?” Lauren whispered, and Sydney felt herself shiver unconsciously as she felt Lauren’s warm breath tickle her sensitive earlobe.
“A little,” Sydney admitted, still smiling.
Lauren pressed her lips against Sydney’s ear. “Can we talk in my office?”
Sydney closed her eyes and nodded her head. It took her a moment to find the words to speak. “Of course.”
Sydney followed Lauren into the office and closed the door behind her. She watched as Lauren leaned against her desk and flirtatiously brushed a stray lock of blond hair behind her ear with a smile on her face.
“What’s up?” Syd asked, taking a moment to admire Lauren’s curvy, athletic body. She looked so beautiful in a suit, and Syd imagined even better out of it.
“Well, as you know Michael is away for a few days on a mission, and I was just wondering if you’d like to get dinner again with me tonight,” Lauren said, her face full of confidence that Syd would accept the invitation.
Sydney chewed on her lower lip, something she only did when she was a bit nervous. She knew she didn’t have plans for tonight and the thought of spending an evening with Lauren was enough to make her stomach turn with anticipation.
“That sounds great,” Sydney said, smiling warmly.
Lauren smiled back, unfolding her arms. Her hand brushed against a cup holding pencils that tumbled to the floor. The pencils went everywhere and Syd immediately rushed to Lauren’s aid to help pick them up.
And that’s when it happened. Sydney’s body brushed against Lauren’s as they picked the pencils up; Syd’s hand was full of them.
Lauren looked to Sydney and Sydney stared back. They were both smiling and when their eyes locked the smiles faded as they both felt the tug of attraction that had been brewing between them grow ten-times stronger, begging them to act on it.
Sydney looked at Lauren’s lips instinctively when she saw Lauren look at her own. Sydney had never kissed a woman before, never felt any type of attraction whatsoever until Lauren came into her life.
Lauren leaned forward and Sydney closed her eyes, taking in a deep breath and letting it out when she felt Lauren’s soft lips brush against her own. It wasn’t at all what Syd had expected. She’d thought that if a woman ever kissed her she would feel disgusted or repulsed but when Lauren kissed her a jolt of hot electricity sizzled every nerve ending in her body.
At first the kiss was tentative and soft but it quickly grew fiery and passionate as Syd dropped the pencils into the cup so she could wrap her arms around Lauren’s neck, forcing their lips closer together.
Syd felt Lauren’s hands in her hair, felt her tongue rubbing against the length of her own and she couldn’t help but moan as she felt intense shivers coursing through her nerves.
Sydney came to her senses and quickly pulled away, clearing her throat. “Lauren…”
Lauren sighed, lowering her eyes. “I know. I know this isn’t rational…”
Lauren’s voice trailed off and Sydney watched her face, which looked so beautiful with the light shining down on it. She reached out and touched her cheek, her thumb stroking soft skin.
“Lauren, we can’t do this…” Syd said, but she was already leaning into Lauren, sliding her hands up and down her arms.
Lauren cupped Sydney’s face, kissing her fiercely. She slid her tongue along Syd’s sensual lips, tracing them with the tip in an attempt to coax Syd’s mouth open as she memorized the taste and feel of her lips on her own.
Sydney opened her mouth for Lauren, once again wanting to feel her tongue exploring her mouth. She felt Lauren’s tongue slide along her teeth, gums, and tongue and couldn’t help but let out another soft moan, feeling a pang of pleasure hit her below her gut.
Never in her life had Sydney been so responsive to someone besides Vaughn like this. Lauren was making her feel alive, making her feel electric pleasure with just a heated kiss.
When they pulled back both were breathing heavily. Sydney stared at Lauren’s face knowing that her own must be as flushed with arousal as hers was. She sighed, shaking her head. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to do that.”
Lauren leaned back against her desk on the floor. “Yes, you did,” she said, cockily.
Syd tilted her head to the side. “I did?”
Lauren nodded. “Yes. And we’ll do it again, because we want to.”
“Lauren I told Vaughn I won’t be the other woman and I meant it.”
“Is that what you’re going to tell me?” Lauren asked, looking disappointed.
Sydney sighed. “I don’t know…” She looked away, knowing that if she met Lauren’s eyes she would just want to kiss her again, so hard that she’d bruise those lips with her own.
“I’ll be at your place at seven sharp. Cook me something good,” Lauren said, grabbing hold of Sydney’s strong shoulders to help herself up off of the floor.
Sydney sighed, nodding her head. “Seven sharp. I’ll see you then.”
Lauren smiled, her demeanor switching to all business. “Yes, see you then, Agent Bristow.”
There was a hint of sarcasm when Lauren referred to her as ‘Agent Bristow’ and Sydney couldn’t help but chuckle as she heard the door shut. She finished gathering all the pencils on the floor and walked out of the office, knowing a long day was ahead of her.
