Series: The Point Series
Summary: Gil and Sara are married. This story covers their honeymoon in Scotland and what happens when they arrive back in the USA.
A/N: In the time of the Point Series this story takes place after The Breaking Point. This started as a challenge fic: 1. GSR of course; 2. Must include the lines "I don’t think you want me touching your buns." and "We could never be happier."; 3. Grissom can't stop sneezing from an allergy he doesn't know he has (I feel like torturing him); 4. Incorporate a fireworks show, a swimming pool, and a windy day/night. But things change; I am hooked on my AU. Oh well to each his own.
A/N: [Thoughts]
Chapter One: Honeymoon in Arith
Sara and Gil had been married almost two weeks. The wedding was beautiful. Mama Beth’s dress had been a triumph. Lots of family from Clan Bruce and Clan MacDonald attended. They had taken over Arith Castle not too far from Edinburgh. All of Sara and Gil’s friends and their families from LVPD and CSI had been flown out to Scotland as guests of the Bruce clan; ever competitive Clan MacDonald footed the bill for anyone who wished to spend ten days at any of the MacDonald hotels in Scotland all expenses paid.
Needless to say everyone took advantage and the wedding guests wandered over the whole of Scotland indulging themselves shamelessly. Clan Bruce then announced a huge banquet in ten days time for everyone to celebrate before they returned to their respective homes.
The reception had lasted almost five days. A lot of very fine single malt Scotch whiskey was consumed; not too mention Special Reserve Vodka and very old Napoleon Brandy and numerous vintages of wine.
Lots of music and lots of dancing and a lot of rendezvous and dancing of quite another kind.
Sara and Gil had left the festivities the first night and had retreated to the hunting lodge that had been prepared for them. It was a few miles away from the main castle and extremely private. It was small enough not to require any servants but not so small as to feel cramped. It did have a large enclosed pool and sunroom which had pleased both Noreen and Olivia.
They both knew that Gil would like to keep up with his swimming exercises. Noreen and Olivia also knew Sara appreciated the trim figure that Gil had now as well as the boundless stamina and energy he now had for all kinds of activities. The last year had been rough on everyone; but most of all Gil and Sara.
Although fully recovered and back at work, Gil still limped when he was tired or the weather was cold and damp. The doctors said the limp would become less noticeable over time. Olivia and Sara were trying to talk Gil into having plastic surgery to reduce the ugly scar that ran up and down his left thigh; but he would have none of it. He became quite upset when anyone broached the subject of doctors, hospitals or surgery.
Overall, Olivia was pleased. Her son was happier than he had been in a long time. Sara had been good for him and Gil for her. He had opened up a good deal over the last few months. Olivia knew he would never be totally open with anyone but Sara but it was a vast improvement. He still was very reticent to accept accolades and was still very surprised at the depth of feeling people had for him. Children…that’s the answer she decided.
