Ranger Rebirth: part one
The hunt for a friend

As the three People stepped off the train the woman started to hum, it was an old tune, but it felt as fresh as it had that day five years ago. “Hey Kira, we haven’t heard that tune in a while.” At the sound of her companions voice Kira stopped and turned to regard the two men beside her. As she did the memories of the past returned, “well it seems right, you know, I mean its been four years since graduation and that was the last time any of us saw Connor.” At that the thoughtful young Latino beside her spoke. “Yeah I know Kira but what if Connor doesn’t want to be found?” Even as he said it the young man prayed to be wrong. “Don’t even think that Trent,” this came from the quiet young black man who walked with the duo. “Ethan’s right Trent, I know how much you care for him but we need to find him, especially after..” at this the trio all stopped talking as the reason for their errand came flooding back into their minds, and at that the argument became less important. “ OK so lets do this, where did Hailey say he was?”
“Well according to what she heard from Mrs McKnight the last anyone knew he was moving to Greenwich Village here in New York to work with his brother, so we just have to show his photo to people and ask around.”
On hearing this Kira groaned, “guys that won’t work, we need to narrow down the search area, I think we should start with the bars.” At this the three started to move, each one thinking about the reason for their presence in the city and the long day ahead of them.

Three hours later the group met up outside a small café in order to swap notes. “I don’t know about you guys but I haven’t found trace one” as he said it Ethan slumped into his chair the drink in front of him forgotten in the moment.
“Me either bro.” Added Trent. “Make that a matching set, I mean, I’m beginning to think this is hopeless, what are the odds that someone is gonna look at the photo and know exactly where to find him.” As she erupted a dismayed Kira then dropped the photo, only to have the man at the next table pick it up before looking at it in shock, “hey this looks like one of the Gemini Brothers.” The man exclaimed. “Whoa what do you mean Gemini brothers dude” blurted Ethan the shock clear across his face. “Well they work over at the Animus, It’s a club a couple of blocks over, they tend to mix sets with Loup and Leo.”
As she heard this Kira grinned, “Thanks sir I don’t suppose you know when they are on next?”
“Sure I do they should be performing tonight, they tend to work on stage one night then behind the bar the next, and they tend to be one of the hottest acts in the show.”
Now it was trents turn to grin, “If the brothers are who we think they are then that doesn’t surprise me” then he turned to the young male who had given them the tip, “ thank you sir, you’ve helped us so much, I feel kinda bad though I mean we don’t even know your name.”
“Oh sorry I should have introduced myself, the names, Justin. And you would be?”
“ I’m Trent, and this is Ethan, the silent lady with the weird look on her face is Kira.”
Justin Grinned, there was something in the way these three acted around each other felt familiar to him and anyway the guys were kinda cute. “ OK well I gotta run so I will maybe see you at the club? It’s been a pleasure meeting you, later”
As the man walked away Trent turned to his friends “ we have to hit that club later it’s the best lead we have, for now though we should probably head over to my dads townhouse, he has one a few blocks over for when he has business here in New York, and thankfully he gave me my own keys a few months ago.”

Later that day a tired Trent stepped into the shower, he knew what his main problem was, but as the water ran down him slowly flowing over his youthful form he found that all he could think about were his missing friends. “Trent man I have to leave town for a while don’t tell anyone where I went its important that I disappear from Reefside” The fact that Connor had been wearing nothing but his swim shorts at the time hadn’t helped and the young latino had become transfixed by his friends lithe and muscular form. Before such thoughts could trouble Trent for too long though he found his thoughts turning to Dr Oliver, but before those thoughts could continue to their painful conclusion Trent switched off the water and left the room.
In the next room Ethan waited for his friends, dressed in a pale blue tank top and black leather pants the youth was confident he would blend right in with the crowd at the club, when he heard the door open he turned and stopped, Trent walked into the room “hey bro you ok?” as he spoke Trent turned around blocking his companions view of his firm muscular torso, “yeah man sorry about that you just shocked me is all.” Unseen by Ethan, Trent grinned, “you sure that’s all it was Eath” at that Trent let the towel fall from his waist and smiled at the gasp that the sight of his ass brought from the young man, “ I take it you like what you see then hmmn?” Ethan quickly went pale and started to flee to the living room “I better go check on Kira, then we better hit that club man.”
A short while later the two men were both sat in the living room, their matching outfits doing little to alleviate the tension between the two. It was Trent who spoke first “ look Ethan I don’t know what we’re so worried about, we are both old enough to do what we want right?” “Yeah well what about Kira? I mean I don’t want her thinking.” “ First off sorry about pranking you in there it was kinda mean of me to flash you when you thought you wouldn’t get any, and secondly Kira and I are just friends now, and she knows more about what’s going on than you might think.”
At that Kira walked in and both men were rendered speechless, as she saw them gaze at her slowly panning up her skin-tight leather pants to take in her golden butterfly top all she could do was grin “ Now that I have your approval, lets get moving OK, we have a friend to find.”
