ISLAND ISOLATION
Grissom shook the debris from around him and searched for her with his eyes first. He slowly got to his feet. There were pieces of plane everywhere. He saw a hand. He touched it. It was cold. Don’t let it be her, please don’t let it. He uncovered the body. It was that of the flight attendant. Where is Sara? He looked further. He found three more bodies. All dead including the captain. Am I the only survivor? I can’t be…
He searched the debris and found a few more dead bodies and still no Sara. He was at his whets end when he heard a scream.
He followed the sound. Under the big body was a familiar figure. Brown hair, slim featured. Sara. She was alive. Grissom moved the body off of her and pulled her into his arms. “I was so worried I lost you.”
“I must have been knocked out.”
“I think you should thank your friend there. He probably saved your life.”
“I’ll thank him later. Can you please help me up?”
Grissom pulled her up and into his arms. He didn’t want to let go of her. They made their way across the small island investigating.
“Where are we?”
“Some place tropical. You can tell by the water.”
“It is so beautiful.”
Grissom smiled. “It has much in common with you.”
“Do you ever stop?” Sara laughed.
“Tell me. What else do I have to do?”
“I guess. What is our plan?”
“First. I think we should gather the supplies we can find from the plane and then I think we should pick a part if this island and use it as a burial site and bury the unfortunates from the flight. If we don’t we will have a mess on our hands.”
“Sounds like a good plan.” Sara agreed.
They gathered up useable pieces of the plane and piled them all together. They managed to find and axe in the debris, a shovel and a pail as well as what was left of a first aid kit and a few other things. They also found some clothes and a bit of food, but nothing to brag about.
They stripped all the deceased and drug them to an isolated part of the island and dug each of them a big hole. They put them each in individual holes and marked them with rocks to deter animals from digging them up. After everyone was buried they said a few words and went back to their side of the island.
Sara and Grissom began to chop down some trees and peel the bark off of them. They used the bark to tie them together.
“I was a boy scout.” Grissom said proudly.
“Good thing.” Sara added.
They built four support walls out of tied together trees. They braced two of them up and tied them together. They continued until all four walls were up. They then built the roof in much of the same way. They thatched it together with big leaves for shingles and insulation. They collected smaller branches and made a bed and filled it with leaves for the mattress. They had a few blankets they found in the debris. Grissom took some of the found rope and hung it between two trees for a clothesline. He assembled a door out of thatch and small tree branches and they stood back and admired their new home.
“What do you think?” He asked Sara.
“I think it is beautiful. Quaint. All the comforts of home.” Sara laughed.
“It will keep us warm and dry and protect us from the elements.”
“I guess it is a masterpiece then, isn’t it.”
Grissom hugged Sara. “It is getting late. Do you want to try out our new bed?”
“I guess. But don’t hog it. I’ll have nowhere else to go but the ground.”
“I do not hog the bed Sara.”
“You do too. The bed and the blankets. Many a morning I woke up barely on the bed and not a blanket in site.”
“I did not.”
“Did to.”
“Fine. You win. Maybe I am a bed hog.”
They lay down in their bed.
“This ain’t bad, considering what it is.”
“I guess not.” He pulled the blankets up over themselves.
“Do you think they are looking for us?”
“Probably not. I mean we have two weeks off for our honeymoon. After that they may get concerned but not before.”
“Oh right.”
“Besides, we will be okay here. We can eat the fruits and the fish. We can build some pots and boil some water for drinking. We can build a fire pit tomorrow. Maybe we can investigate the island more tomorrow.”
“Okay…sounds good…” Sara mumbled into his chest before falling asleep. Grissom stroked her hair until he too was asleep.
Grissom woke up alone. He worried for a second until he heard splashing. He quickly got up and found what the noise was coming from.
“What are you doing Sara?” He yawned.
“Swimming, why?”
“Naked?”
“Well I don’t have a suit besides who is going to see me the birds? Don’t tell me you are jealous of the birds.”
“No.”
“Then come join me. Where else can you skinny dip in such amazing water?”
He stripped off his remaining clothes and joined her in the water. “It is so warm.”
“I know. Isn’t it amazing?”
“There is a fish.” Grissom pointed.
“That’s not the first. There are lots.”
“We will have to figure a way to catch them.”
“We need to make sure they aren’t poisonous. I don’t want to be here alone.” Sara wrapped her arms around his neck. “I am not sure I could live without you.”
“You would be fine.”
“Grissom!”
“What, I am speaking the obvious. You are very independent.”
“Maybe so but independent or not I don’t want to be without you.”
Grissom scooped her into his arms and carried her to the beach. He laid her down and began to plant kissed all over her body.
“There may be a benefit to isolation.” Sara giggled as he tickled her.
“What is that?”
“This.”
“What is this?”
“I am hoping we are going to make love on this wonderful beach under the sun.”
“Is that the lady’s wish?”
“Yes.”
“Your wish is my command.”
He kissed her lips as his hands moved over her body. Sara hissed. “I could get used to this.”
“You better.” He kissed her belly.
Sara shivered. “Stop teasing mister.”
He took that as her plea to get on with the show. He thrust into her. Sara growled. She wrapped her arms and legs around him and he thrust harder and faster. She drove her teeth into his shoulder to muffle her screams.
“Oh Gil…. ooooo ooh.”
Grissom continued to thrust. They got slower and longer. Sara was breathing heavy.
“Er…um…er…ooh”
He collapsed and smiled at her. “I think we need to swim again to wash all this sand off of us.”
Sara giggled.
He searched the debris and found a few more dead bodies and still no Sara. He was at his whets end when he heard a scream.
