Lex groaned, and rubbed the heels of his palms into his eyes. It was past one am and he’d been working for near enough twelve hours straight in meetings and sorting out contracts. Gabe Sullivan had left only an hour earlier, leaving Lex to finish off the finalities, and now that they were about done, Lex was ready to drop. His shirt was unusually rumpled, and the back of his thighs ached from sitting down all day.

Relieved to be finally finished, Lex switched off his cell as the hum of his laptop also ceased. However, before Lex could leave his study in search of his bed, a tuneful ringing echoed around the room. Lex double-checked his own phone was switched off, before spotting another cell on his desk. The caller ID read ‘Chloe’, and Lex guessed it was Gabe’s phone.

“Dad!” Lex heard Chloe exclaim down the phone before he had adequate chance to explain the situation. “Dad, can you pick me up? I’m not going to crash at Claire’s anymore, she got sick. Dad, can you come pick me up?”

“Chloe, this is Lex Luthor,” Lex cut in before Chloe could call him ‘Dad’ one more time. Something about someone who he’d seen only three days looking *very* attractive in a little red skirt calling him ‘Dad’ seemed very wrong. “Your father left his cell in my office.”

“Oh thank God!” she barked, and laughed raucously. “Now I don’t have to pretend I’m sober.”

“I take it you’re not?” Lex asked, as he sat back in his office chair.

“Mmm, no. Party. Fun party. Some guys from the college spiked the punch.” This it seemed, was hilarious in itself, and Chloe burst out laughing again. “Fuuuuuun party.”

Lex chuckled. It had been a long time since he soberly witnessed – or at least listened to – a drunken teenage girl. The lack of sense, the amusement at everything, was something he’d lost long ago, but found amusing to bear witness to.

“Don’t laugh at me, Lex,” Chloe said down the line. “Just because you’re rich and you’re smart and I’ve had a little too much to drink and you’re rich and you’re…” Chloe trailed off, losing her thread, “you’re… oh, you’re adorable.”

Lex chuckled again, and tried to ignore the vaguely fluttery feeling inside. She was seventeen, drunk and not aware of what she was saying, not someone he should be finding… cute? “You want me to pick you up, save waking your Dad?”

Chloe answered positively, and rattled off the address of the party to him, in-between bouts of laughter. “See ya in five, Lex!” she laughed again, and hung up.

When Chloe had finally deposited herself in his car, and done up to belt, Lex sped away from the pounding music emanating from the house. Chloe sighed, and patted his arm. “Thank you Lex.”

“No problem,” Lex replied, glad she seemed awake and coherent enough that she wouldn’t vomit in his car. “You want to come back to the mansion for a coffee – sober up?” Lex suggested with a smirk. If he had been a lesser man – or a bumbling idiot like Clark could be on occasion – he would have stuttered that sentence, spluttering it out with choked ‘umms’ and ‘ahhs’, but he was a Luthor, and Luthor’s never bumbled. *Especially* over a seventeen year old girl they found attractive, even if said girl was too young for them. Damn, Lex thought to himself, it really was getting late if he was making ridiculous admissions to himself like that.

“Sure,” Chloe replied, smiling as she kicked off her pumps and rested her feet on the dashboard.

Internally, Lex groaned. This was a really, really stupid idea.

**

Chloe had been babbling solidly for the last three minutes and – Lex glanced at the clock on the dashboard – fifteen seconds. Her voice held the obvious signs of intoxication, as did her spirited hand movements. Her almost one-sided conversation, though, was dwindling. She looked pensive for a moment, and Lex watched her bite her peach-glossed bottom lip. “You must think I’m pretty pathetic, huh? Behaving like this.”

Lex barked out a short laugh, and elaborated when Chloe frowned in confusion. “Believe me,” he assured her, “I was doing far more ‘pathetic’ things than this at seventeen.”

“Ah,” Chloe smiled, regaining her momentarily lost composure. “Lex Luthor’s mysteriously covered-up actions within the walls of Club Zero?”

Lex’s gaze took leave of the road, and for a moment he met Chloe’s inquisitive gaze. Her eyes were open, honest – if a little glazed over – and it was something that came as a disconcerting surprise after all the deceptions offered by Victoria, and, to some extent, Clark. Still, Lex had to remind himself, She’s the enemy; a reporter, and despite her relative inexperience, a damn good one. Lex mysteriously smirked at Chloe, before turning his eyes back to the road.

**

They had lulled into silence and by the time they reached the mansion, Chloe’s eyes were closed, her expression unguarded. She looked young, and Lex had to forcefully remind himself that she *was* young.

Swerving the car across the gravel with a soft crunch, Lex pulled up alongside the front of the building. He switched off the engine so he was sitting in silence, and then gave Chloe a nudge. “Come on, let’s at least get you sobered up before you fall asleep on me.”

Chloe, suddenly alert, gave Lex a sardonic grin, “You expecting me to be falling asleep on you any time soon, Luthor?”

Rolling his eyes at her unoriginal innuendo, Lex opened the door to let himself out, and then crossed over the front of the car to help Chloe out.

She was quick to raise protest, ever the feminist, but she quickly conceded defeat when the low ground clearance of the car prevented her from stepping out easily in her high heeled pumps that she’d once again slipped into. Still, even with Lex’s assistance, Chloe stumbled as she got out of the car, and she fell against his sturdy frame. “Oh Lex, you are warm!” she exclaimed as he supported her in his arms.

Lex smiled. The ridiculous honesty of drunken teenage girls was always something of an amusement. “Come on,” he sighed, “let’s get you inside.”

**

Once inside, Chloe slumped against Lex as he went to help her into her seat, effectively trapping him in-between her body and the leather couch. “Ooohh,” she giggled, “you’re comfortable, Lex.”

As much as Lex hated to admit it, he quite reciprocated the sentiment, feeling too long denied the presence of a warm body touching him. Biting his lip to stop himself releasing a complimentary comment about the drunken girl on top of him, he moved Chloe onto the couch, and stalked towards his scotch decanter. Pouring them both a glass, he walked back to the couch and handed Chloe one of the crystal glasses.

Taking the proffered glass, Chloe grinned. “Are you trying to get me drunk, Lex?”

“I think it’s a little late for that, don’t you? Besides, I’m intrigued to know what the great investigative reporter Chloe Sullivan is like when she lets her guard down.”

“How’d you know I’ve let my guard down… that this isn’t some ploy on my behalf to catch you off guard?” Chloe asked, grinning slightly.

“Because,” Lex replied, “If you had your guard up, I would think twice about doing this.”

“Doing what?” Chloe began to ask, but the words were lost before they reached her lips as Lex’s mouth advanced on hers. She was startled, momentarily, the kiss unexpected, but not entirely unwelcome. His kiss created a warm, honeyed glow inside her, evoking sensations that the fumbling touches of seventeen-year-old boys had never quite reached. Chloe trembled slightly under the sweet caress of his lips, and for a second, despite the lack of inhibitions created by the drink, she was scared. She knew, without a doubt, that Lex was far more experienced than her, and her inexperienced fumblings might seem childish and unknowing to Lex.

His lips though, much like every other part of him, charmed her, and soon she was warming to him; letting his tongue ply open her mouth, and surrendering herself completely. He settled himself on the couch next to her, not drawing away from her lips for an instant, and pulled her body closer to his, slipping his arms around her. Chloe relaxed, mentally, a little more, while her body only became more tense, aroused, and Lex’s ministrations, though breathtaking, were tentative, and Chloe wanted *more*.

Chloe moaned, and slid from beneath Lex. She drew her lips away from his for the barest instant to give Lex a sly, quick smile. He responded in kind, and Chloe, more assured, from either the alcohol or Lex’s sexy grin, slid onto of Lex, straddling his seated form with her knees bent and calves beneath her. On top of him, she felt more in control, and allowed her hands to wander over his chest as she kissed him, and untucked his lilac shirt.

Her explorations though, gave an unspoken permission for Lex to continue his exploration of her body, and his hands that had previously been occupied with her hair and neck and breasts, stole down her body, one continuing to cup her breasts and the other slipping beneath her skirt.

Chloe gasped against Lex’s mouth as his fingers rubbed against her, moving her underwear against her wet flesh. His digits caressed her in an enticing torture, giving her just enough to *want*.

Moving forward, Chloe pushed herself against his fingers, and found his erection now pressing against her. Ignoring the devilish delight his fingers were inflicting on her, Chloe rocked against his erection, her pleasure only increasing as she recognised the look on Lex’s face as matching her own.

Their twin amorous expressions echoed the movements of their bodies as together their movements became equally more and more frantic, until Lex was thrusting upwards against Chloe’s body, humming with desire. They came against each other, separated by their clothes, but each smiling contentedly.

“Wow,” Chloe murmured, and stretched out against Lex. “That was… wow.”

“Mmm,” he agreed. His voice was low, and Chloe felt it echo through his chest. “Next time you’re going to be sober though.”

“Next time?” Chloe asked, smiling into Lex’s shirt.
