Chapter One.


Upstairs at the Halliwell house Paige and Phoebe were lying in bed kissing passionately when they had yet another interruption in the form of a knock on their door, "Hey you two, it's time to get up. We have a bit of a probl" wa" was all Piper said as they heard her walk down the hall and downstairs.
Reluctantly they got up and Phoebe grabbed a short little nightgown and put it on over her still very naked body, while Paige snuck down the hall and ran into her room and picked out a t-shirt and a pair of nice fitting riding pants and they headed downstairs.


Piper was sitting at the table with Leo standing beside her and they had a large piece of the door lying on the kitchen table.
With a look of annoyance Piper showed off the broken door, "As you can see we had a visitor last night and I might add a very powerful one as well. I had a very strong barrier spell up after Leo informed me of a new threat to us and the demon was able to keep pushing forward in spite of this and only stopped when he saw Leo coming down the stairs."


"Do we know who or what this new threat is?" Phoebe asked as she moved closer to Paige and rubbed slightly up against her.
Leo grabbed the door and moved it up against the back door and then turned to face the sisters, "What I was told is that Cole has been calling for any and all demons to come join him in his quest to bring you all down. He's offering power and part of the pie once he defeats you and begins to slowly take over the entire world."


Paige was more than a little pissed off at this, "That's great. We had the chance to take him out so many times and we just let him go time and time again. What did it get us? Nothing. Now he's out there amassing some army and now we have to deal with a ton of new demons as well. Just great."
Phoebe was frustrated at this situation for so many reasons and yet she knew she had no way to take back all the things that happened with her and Cole, "I know this looks bad, but come on guys, we will stop Cole and whoever he tries to recruit."


"I'm sure we will Phoebe but now it's going to be that much harder." Paige said as she pulled away from Phoebe and walked over and leaned against the wall.
"Right now we need to stay calm and focused on what we can control and that's what we do." Piper stated the obvious and then walked over and put her arm around Leo, "Leo is going to dig deep into just what set Cole off and why he's moving now when he's always stayed away from attacking us head on before."


"We already know why he's coming after us." Paige added, while looking right at Phoebe, "Phoebe dumped him and now he's finally over her so he's got nothing holding him back now."
Phoebe walked into the middle of the room and looked first at Paige and then at Piper and Leo, "Look, we don't know anything yet. Let's wait and see what Leo finds out and then decide what to do. Either way, if Cole comes here again he is not going to leave alive."
"Sure, I'll believe it when I see it." Paige said with a very sarcastic tone.


"If you have a problem Paige just come out and say it." Phoebe snapped as she stared down Paige.
Piper moved over and stood in between the two girls, "Stop your bickering. We need to work together here."
Paige felt bad about what she's said and looked over at Phoebe, "Your right. Sorry."


"So am I." Phoebe smiled at Paige and then turned back to Piper, "I know this isn't going to go over well with any of you but I think I might be able to stop Cole if I just go talk to him again."
All three people in the room had a collective sigh and Piper walked over and sat Phoebe down beside her, "I know you want to help but I don't think that's the way. Each time we've seen Cole since you ended it he's become increasingly more violent and unpredictable. I think he's well passed the listening to reason stage."


"I have to try." Phoebe pleaded, "I got us into this by getting involved with him and I was the one who didn't want to kill him all those times and now if he's finally coming after you guys I can't just sit back and let him."
Leo walked over to Phoebe and Piper and had a guilty look on his face, "I hate to say it, but I think Phoebe might have something here. Cole may be angry now but he did love her and has always had a weak spot where she was concerned and she might be the one thing that could end this before it starts."


"Leo!" Piper said with a fiercely unpleasant look on her face, "That's not an option. I've seen the look in Cole's eyes lately. It's blank. There is no love. There is no nothing. Whatever human part of him was alive before it's gone now. He's evil and we have to accept and move on. We can't treat him like some love sick puppy dog anymore."
"Wait Piper." Leo said as he sat down across from Phoebe, "I'm not suggesting Phoebe see Cole alone. I think Paige should be there just in case they need to get out of there fast. I also think we need to consider the option of a preemptive strike against Cole. He may not be expecting it from Phoebe since he's never believed she would hurt him."


Phoebe stood up as she heard Leo's idea, "I don't know. I mean, I want him stopped to, but..."
"But what?" Paige asked sharply.
"I want to make sure he is gone for good. I can't do this if I think his human side is still alive. There was good in him. There had to be. How else could I love him? There had to be." Phoebe said, her voice trailing off at the end hoping she was right about more than believing it now.
Paige couldn't stand to see Phoebe hurting so she rushed over and put her arms around her and hugged her tightly.


Piper turned to Leo, "If they go then I go. If were going to vanquish Cole we'll need the power of three to do it."
"I won't argue then, but you better be careful. If Cole has called in help they could already be here." Leo said as he looked right into Piper's eyes and then held her close.
"We know the spell so let's just get it ready and if we have to use it we will." Phoebe said as she ran her fingers through the back of Paige's long dark hair.


"Good, let's get going." Piper helped Phoebe and Paige to their feet and continued, "The sooner we deal with this the sooner we can have some quiet around here."
"I will go up and see what I can find out and should be back with something before you go confront Cole." Leo then did his vanishing act and was gone.
Phoebe was still holding onto Paige by the waist and Piper was trying to ignore that as she looked for some ingredients in the cupboards, "Where is the parsley?"


"Oh right, I used it for this recipe I found online." Paige then reached around Piper and pulled out a small container of parsley from another shelf, "Here ya go. Sorry."
"That's okay, now here's the list of ingredients were going to need." Piper grabbed a piece of paper from the counter and sat it on the table for everyone to see.
Phoebe and Paige looked it over and then began searching the kitchen for what they needed.
It didn't take long before they had everything they need except one thing. Piper looked it over and shook her head, "We need a piece of Cole's skin. The old one won't work anymore."


"Actually I took care of that." Phoebe smiled at her sisters and reached into the back of the freezer and pulled out a small container, "I always had a feeling we might need this again so I got this from him just a week ago when we last talked. I got him mad and then scratched him good and took this from him." she said holding out a very frozen piece of skin.
"Grossness aside, good work Phoebe." Paige said as she kissed Phoebe on the lips.


Piper rolled her eyes and again tried to keep moving in spite of the constant displays of affection her two sisters were giving each other, "I will get the spell ready. You two can maybe get dressed."
Phoebe and Paige took the hint and they ran off upstairs.


Cole's apartment.


Cole was sitting at his fancy desk, feet up on an equally fancy and very soft foot stool, waiting for someone to show up and right on cue a man orbed in from out of the blue and walked up to Cole's desk and handed him a package.
Inside the package were two envelopes. One with Phoebe's name on it and one with Prue's name on it.


He set them both down on his desk and turned his attention to the man who was sitting across from him, "Well, thank you for the package. Unfortunately I needed this 10 minutes ago. I do hate to say this but your fired." with that Cole sent a burst of fire towards the man and he disintegrated before his eyes.
Cole then got up from his desk and grabbed the two envelope's and orbed out of his office.


The Halliwell house.


Phoebe was just stepping out of the shower when she felt a burst of air brush across her wet naked body. She looked at the door and it was shut and the windows were both closed so she knew it wasn't a natural bit of air and quickly grabbed a towel and covered up and kept looking around, "Cole? Is that you? Show your face."
Cole orbed in and stood directly in front of Phoebe and handed her a video tape and without saying a word orbed out again.


Phoebe looked around the room but sensed that he really did leave and she walked into her bedroom and had a closer look at the video tape.
There was a label on it that read, "Rave Party 1997" The title meant nothing to here and she wasn't sure what it was about. Then she saw a small piece of writing on the other side of the tape that said, "Paige Mathews Was A Very Bad Witch." that did catch her attention.
She put the tape in one of her drawers and began getting dressed, but her mind kept drifting back to just what was on that tape.


Paige was standing at her mirror deciding between a beige top or a pink top and kept holding them up to her chest when Cole orbed in and stood behind her, "I like the beige, it really brings out your pretty eyes."
Paige took a few steps forward and pulled on the pink top then looked back at Cole, "What are you doing here? Get out."


"Is that anyway to talk to a former brother in law? Besides, I have a couple presents for you. I think your going to really enjoy them. They are wonderful to read. I'd love to stay and kill you but I have pressing business to attend to." he smiled and was about to orb out when he stopped and stared at Paige's top, "I knew you'd pick the opposite silly, pink is really the best color for you though. Hides that pale skin of yours a bit better."
Paige threw her other top at Cole but he was already long gone. As he was orbing out two envelopes dropped out of the air. She grabbed them from the floor and took a look at what they were.


One was marked, To Paige from Phoebe. The other was marked, To Paige from Prue.
She was about to open them when she heard a knock on the door so she put the envelopes in her drawer and opened the door.
Phoebe came rushing in and started looking around for Cole, "Paige, Cole was just in my room so I wanted to warn you to be careful."


"I know. He was just here. He left. Not sure what his point was. He made some dumb comment about what I was wearing and then left." Paige said, not sure why she didn't mention what he left behind.
"Good, I'm just glad your okay. Come here, Give me a hug." Phoebe put her arms around Paige and they hugged as Phoebe also wondered why she didn't mention the tape Cole left.


There were ingredients all over the kitchen table and the smell was enough to scare away the nastiest skunks and yet Piper was intent on getting this potion ready so they could be ready for Cole the next time they met.
Before Piper could blink Cole was standing behind her and quickly grabbed hold of Piper's very lethal hands and held them close to her sides, "Well now, don't tell me you went through all this trouble just to create a nasty potion to kill little old me did ya?"


"Don't flatter yourself. What do you want?" Piper said as she struggled to break his grasp on her.
"Actually I have come bearing gifts. Now, I'm going to let you go but if you try anything your baby will be taken and you'll never see him again. Is that clear?" Cole asked Piper, knowing she would do nothing now, "Good then. I do like clearing up the loose ends before I engage in pleasant conversation."


"Whatever your planning it won't work. I will not accept anything from you so you might as well just leave." Piper continued to work on the potion even with Cole standing only a couple feet away.
Cole walked over and grabbed a slice of bloodroot and handed it to Piper, "You need a smidgen of this and I believe two ounces of bark off a sequoia tree and three flakes of cilantro and three, no make that four tarragon leaves and that should about do it."


Piper grabbed the ingredients Cole mentioned as they were next in line for the potion, "You may think that if your charming and amusing we won't vanquish you, but you'd be dead wrong."
"You gals do what you gotta do. I don't fear your potion. I don't fear death. I don't plan on dying either. What you need to know will be provided for you. Things you had no idea about. Things that will rock your world to the core. Please, have a look at the little care package I've left in your room and then decide what you want to do next." Cole then took Piper's potion and orbed out of the room.
Piper was fuming, "You bastard. Thought you weren't afraid of the potion?"
"I'm not, I just like making you start over." he smirked quickly then off her orbed again.


Phoebe and Paige came down and from the look on Piper's face they knew Cole had just been there to.
Piper shook her head and took a look at the spell again and started looking for the ingredients as she looked up at her sisters, "Well, he's definitely got something up his sleeve. He came here with a purpose and he seemed pretty darn confident we weren't ready to kill him to."


"Why do you say he has a purpose? Did he say something to you?" Phoebe asked, almost hoping Piper would say she got something so she could tell everyone what he left her.
"He was just very cryptic as usual." Piper said without looking at her sisters.
Paige was hoping Piper would have said something more to, but since she didn't there was no desire for Paige to open up either, "He's gone now so what should we do next?"


Piper stopped working on the spell and turned to face Phoebe and Paige, "I think we need to get some anti-Cole force field up around the house so he can't sit and spy on everything we do."
"That's a good idea. Is it possible?" Paige wondered as she searched through the table and found some ingredients for the potion and tossed it in the pot beside Piper, "He does seem to know a little too much about what's going on here. It was a bit creepy having him in my bedroom while I was changing to. Who knows what else he's seen."


"He was there while you were changing? Just what did he see?" Phoebe asked as she cuddled up close to Paige.
"Oh nothing much. Maybe me in a bra but that's about it. He just likes to get us off our game is all." Paige assured Phoebe with a hug and a smile.


"Still, he needs to be stopped and there has to be some kind of spell we can use to keep him out. At least it will even the playing field." Piper was even more adamant about this now and headed up to the attic to look at Book of Shadows and see what she could find.
"Were going out for awhile. We'll be back in a couple hours." Phoebe said then tried to sneak out before Piper said something.


"Wait just a minute." Piper screamed as she ran down the stairs and ran towards the front door, "What's going on now? Where are you going?"
Phoebe smiled widely at Piper and tried to act as nonchalant "Wet wat want to get out get some fresh air."
"If your thinking of going somewhere in the middle of this latest crisis just to have sex you can think again." Piper said sternly.


"Piper, Piper, Piper. Were not little kids anymore. Were both grown adults. We can do what we want. We love you. Bye." Phoebe smiled then grabbed Paige's hand and headed out the door.
Piper followed to the door step, "I'm not happy about this. Oh fine, just get it over with get back here. And hello, news flash. Cole's still on the loose." she watched them get in the car and take off and stormed back into the house and up the stairs to the attic.
