Summary: Picture this: it's shortly after Arcadia. It's night and Mulder unexpectedly shows up at Scully's appartment. You can only guess what happens next.

*It was a cold and stormy night. He had barely gotten through the door when it started raining. As he looked around, he knew something was amiss. It was too quiet.

As he walked to the livingroom, the only sounds he heard were his footsteps on the hardwood floor and the rain outside. It had started to downpour.

The only light was from a fire. It looked warm, cozy, inviting. But it was wrong. She wasn't there. She always stayed next to the fire whenever she built one.*

"Scully?" Dana's book went flying.

"Mulder, you scared me. Where did you come from?" She tucked a few stray strands of hair behind her ears.

"Your front door." He picked up the book which was now lying open at his feet. "'Tales for a Rainy Day'. Interresting choice. We're not supposed to have rain until tomorrow night."

"Bill gave it to me for my last birthday. It's actually quite good. For the most part anyway. There are a couple of stories you might like."

"I might like something Bill picked out? You mean Bill, your brother?"

"Yeah, Mulder," Dana took the book from him. "My brother. There are thirteen stories. I've read six so far, and the last two could be slightly your style, if you use your imagination."

"Imagination, huh?"

"Mulder, is there anything specific you wanted?" She placed the book on an end table.

"Last time you told me sleep on the couch."

"Mulder,..."

"Okay, you didn't exactly tell me to, but you implied it. And with that green stuff on your face. What was that anyway?"

"A cucumber avacado face mask. It helps me keep my skin soft. Mulder, why are we talkign about my make-up?"

Fox shrugged his shoulders and sat down next to her on the couch. "So...tell me aobut those stories. The ones I might like?"

Dana smiled. "Well, they're nothing like that video collection that isn't yours, but," She paused as he smiled at the joke, "in one, a couple make out in a park in the rain and in the other, a ghost seduces a woman in an old *spooky* mansion. Nothing explicit, though."

"Spooky, huh?" he raised his eyebrows. "That kinda sounds like my style. How does the story go?"

"Well," Dana thought for a moment. "Have you ever seen the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode 'Sub Rosa'? Where Beverly Crusher was seduced by an 800 year old ghost from Scottland?"

"I must have missed that one."

"Well, they're kind of the same, except that in the story, the woman was only seduced when it was raining, and the story ended with the mansion burning down. Actually, in 'Sub Rosa' the ghost wasn't a ghost. It was a different type of lifeform."

"Gee, Scully," Fox grinned. "I never knew you were into Science Fiction. Wanna rent Episode One?"

"I'm not really that much of a Star Wars fan, Mulder. You never really get into the in-depth parts of the characters' personalities."

"There's always Insurrection."

"I own it."

"Really?"

"I have every movie. Including the sought after fifth movie, The Undiscovered Country."

"That's the one with all the Klingons in it, right?"

"Yeah," Dana closed her eyes. "So we go from make-up to Star Trek. Mulder, what did you come here for?"

"Oh, you know," he smiled. "The usual. To talk, listen, mayber try that Falls at Arcadia thing again..."

"What about the falls?" Dana stared at him.

Fox smiled. "You made me sleep on the couch. Is that any way to treat your 'husband'?"

"Well, 'Poopy-head'," she smiled. "*What* may I ask would you have done if I had allowed you to stay?"

"Is that a challenge?" He leaned closer.

"Depends."

"On what?"

"How good you are."

"I call that a challenge."

In an instant, his hand was at the back of her neck, and they wer kissing. It wa a long, slow, searching kiss as their tongues explored each others mouths. When they finally pulled apart, Dana was breathless.

"How was that?" Fox's eyes were dark.

Dana smiled. "It must have been pretty good for you, too. Your pants seem to be too tight in a certain area."

He got closer. "Want to relieve that problem?"

"Mulder..."

He sat back. No. Obviously she didn't want to take it that far. He would respect her decision.

"I don't think my couch is big enough."

"I that a compliment?"

"Interpret it any way you see fit."

"Hmmm..." Fox thought for a moment.

"What now?" Dana never took her eyes off his face.

"Your bed's a king size, right?"

"Yeah,..." Dana sat there for a moment. "Mulder, you're not thinking what I think you're thinking..."

"What do you think I'm thinking?" His dark eyes sparkled.

"Mulder...It's against bureau policy..."

"Half the other agents think we're doin' it anyway..."

"Mulder..."

"Including Skinner."

"What?"

"Yeah, just last week he asked me when we were planning on getting married." His face was completely serious.

"You're joking."

"Yeah, but it was worth the try." He grinned. "So, 'Mrs. Spooky', did it work?"

"Until you got to the 'Mrs. Spooky' part." She leaned closer.

"So, then...Dana," he tried out her first name. " What does turn you on?" He leaned closer until their noses were almost touching.

"Gee, *Fox*," she smiled. "I think that depends on the man. What turns you on?"

"Just keep doing what you're doing."

"But I thought we were just talking." She put on an innocent look.

"Exactly, I'm talking to you."

"God, it doesn't take much, does it?"

"Not when it's you."

Dana couldn't believe her ears. This was Fox Mulder being completely honest with her. None of his secret inside jokes. None, well, make that not many of his smartass remarks. This was his heart.

She leaned in further, and they were kissing again. When she opened her eyes, his showed confusion.

"I think my bed would be more comfortable."

Fox smiled. "Bring it on, G-Woman." She kissed him again before leading him to her bedroom.

----------

Within seconds of entering, their clothes were scattered around the room, and they were on the bed. Dana wrapped her arms around Fox's shoulders as he kissed her neck, taking special care on her collarbone.

"Mmmm..."Dana moaned.

That brought him out of his dreamworld. "Scully... I... I don't... Ummm..."

"What is it?" She wasn't happy when he stopped.

"A condom, Scully."

"Ungh," she sighed. "Six years is long enough...NOW."

He didn't need any further encouragement. He entered her slowly, watching every little look of pleasure on her face and relishing in the sensations she was creating in him before setting a pace.

Dana moaned and urged him to go faster. He obliged immediately, and she wrapped her arms around his chest. He thrust in three more times, and on the fourth thrust, she spasmed and went over the edge in a blaze of white, taking him with her a she filled her with short jerks.

When he regained his sight, he slowly pulled from her and held her close. Moments later, she, too, opened her eyes.

"Do you realize what we just did?" he asked her.

"Yeah," she smiled against his chest. "It was wonderful."

"We didn't use a condom." He didn't look at her.

"I can't get pregnant." She shrugged. "Besides, it was a 'spur of the moment' type of thing. It's not like either one of us was prepared."

He sighed. "'Spur he mhe moment', huh?"

"Mulder," she propped herself up with one elbow. "What's wrong?"

"'Mulder'?" he laughed. "After that you still call me 'Mulder'?"

"Fine, *Fox*, what's wrong?"

"Was it really just a spur of the moment, one time thing?"

"Maybe you should stay and find out." She kissed his lower lip before laying back down.

"Do you hear that?" she asked after about a minute.

"Hear what?"

"It's raining."

"Really?" He grinned. "Wanna play out that park story in your book?"

"Actually, I think we skipped that level."

"In that case," his eyes sparkled, "wanna do some make-up work?"

"'Make-up work'?"

"Yeah. As long as it doesn't involve that green mask of yours."

"You don't like cucumber and avacado?"
