A Warrior's Heart

The day started out great....even though the gods had stripped xena of all her superhuman powers it didn't make a difference as she and gabbrielle did away with the bad guys quickly...that made xena way nervous as she took in the scene of dead bodies every where xena stared at me and said, I dont like the feeling of this gabbrielle this fight was all too easy and quick either some god is playing with us and having the time of their lives or the battle isnt over. Gabbrielle looked at her friend and said, I agree xena something isn't right I can feel it but I can't put my finger on it.
As the two warriors continued on their way through the open country side they walked in silence until xena stop dead in her tracks and pulled out her sword and that was gabbrielle's signal that trouble about about to head their way. And sure enough a group of warlords blocked their path and at sword point demanded all their goods which included their weapons as well. Xena held her ground and didn't give them the chance she and gabbrielle went into fighting mode and another fight insued. This time they were no match for the bigger stronger warlods and were captured bound and gaged they were taken to the warlords camp and held in a makeshift holding pen.
Several hours later two ugly gaurds appeared in front of the makeshift pen and ordered xena to get up. Xena just ignored the men and stared blankly at them hoping they would make a mistake.....When the guards saw that xena wasn't complying to their orders the uglier of the two took a step foward and opened the gate thats when xena began to time the moments of the second guard who was making his way into the pen.... once the guard was about to enter xena sprang forwards and knocked the guard to the ground as xena and gabbrielle desperately tried to make their escape. This how ever didn't work as xena ran past the second guard she froze once more. As xena turned around she saw that the guard had gabbrielle by the neck and was squeezing her throat very tightly.
Xena surrendered and was taken to the head warlord. The warlord accused her of treason and sentenced her to be hunted and killed like the animal that her saw her to be. In every way had the warlord the right to make this type of decsion as many of his men were slayen by her hand. Xena was not happy at all an spat at the warlord saying....kill me if you can I not easy to kill. And with that the warlord struck xena hard in the face and she past out. Before long xena laid on the cold ground feet and hands bound her mouth was also bound the long rope was taught and secured to a horse. They also thought it fit that gablle lle should be wittness to her friends fate as she just might end up as xena....gabbrielle sat her face was crimsoned with anger at the sight before her xena gave gabbrielle one last look and her eyes reassured her that she would be back for her. The tears and heartbreak that shone in gabbrielle's eyes were her way of saying farewell and you will be missed....but never forgotten for I shall avenge your death with honor. And with that the hunt was on as the rider whiped the horse and the horse ran at top speed through the countryside and into the dense forrest. Xena held on for dear life but as the horse ran the grass and fallen branches were already cutting into xenas legs and arms.
She tried to moved against the dragging but found it totally impossilbe and it was then that she truely realized that her fate had been seal and that she would surely die. But as xena was dragged and tossed she held one thought deep in her mind and that thought was, “Even after I'm long dead gabbrielle you need not fear for I shall always remain alive deep within the safe casim of your heart and soul look for me there my dearest gabbrielle for I will be awaiting you with open arms” and as xena slowly closed her eyes and focused on her beloved gabbrielle xena was instantly killed as the horse swerved and xenas head bashed against an out cropping of rock.
The rider stopped the horse he looked over his shoulder in fear that the warrior princess may still be alive in some manner and did not want to take the chance of getting killed. He watched an waited for sometime and when he was assured that xena was truely dead he go off the horse, cut the rope and flung xena's lifeless body over the horse and headed back to the warlords camp.
Two days later the rider appears at the camp with xena's lifeless body, gabberielle only stared as the shock was just too much for her to handle at the moment....when she finally came to she was standing in front of the warlord that had sentenced xena to death. The warlord looked coldly into her eyes and said, Take your warrior princess and lay her to rest as she won't be causing me any more grief and I suggest that you never show yourself around these parts again unless you wish to suffer the same fate as your beloved warrior princess. Gabbrielle was silent tears of anger and hate rolled down her face which was lowered the whole time the warlord spoke.
There was a long moment of silence when gabbrielle raised her head and said angrly, “You may have taken the life of a great warrior but you haven't taken her soul! Do not for get these words.....You will pay dearly. And with that gabbrielle grabbed xena's body and and rode off into the forrest hoping to get as far away from the camp as possible. That night gabbrielle slept very little as her grief and pain were all too fresh. She wrapped xena's body and decided to head to ampholis to bury her best friend all will be saddened and all will miss her greatly but at least she's home where she is truely loved.
