The Curse

It was a hot and sticky day in thebes....hercules and iolaus had finished their breakfast and were on their way to help a neighboring town with a few war lords and raiders. As usual the road ahead was long and filled with danger at ever turn. They reached the neighboring town called valu just before nightfall, they were tired and decided to rest up for the night as they knew what lay ahead. Early morning came quickly and iolaus was up before hercules as iolaus took his morning bath he couldn't stop thinking of hercules he realized that although they had been through it all their bond was of friendship...or was it? As iolaus began to ponder his feeling for hercules he hadn't realized he was being watched by a pair of sky blue eyes and a twinkling smile.
Hercules stood at the doorway to the bathing area silently studying iolaus....iolaus suddenly had a sense he was being watched and turned quickly to see none other than his partner standing in the doorway with a big smile on his face...dammit herc! would you mind not doing that! you scare the tartus right out of me. What were you planning on doing send me to hades before my time is up or something?! Hercules couldn't help but laugh at the last part and once iolaus was done hercules washed up and the two heros headed down for some breakfast.
Once they finished their breakfast if was time to get down to work and seek out the war lords and return the village to its peaceful status, the battle was a long and tiedous one. Iolaus was knocked down several times and had a few cuts and bruises. All in all the town was saved and finally herc and iolaus could relax. Once safely back at the inn hercules tends to iolaus's wounds and as always iolaus the worse paicent to care for. After hercules fed iolaus his dinner he ate his in silence as they usually did....while he ate iolaus couldn't help but think about his true feeling for herc. Deep down iolaus loved herc more than just a friend or a brother. He often tested this theory by trying to seduce the bar-maids or waitress at the inns they frequented but not even they would do.
Night fell quickly and soon hercules was preparing for bed....as he took off his pants iolaus couldn't help but let out a low moan of wattoning hercules caught the moan but didn't let iolaus know. Hercules had a feeling where this was going to lead so he mentally prepared for it and went to sleep. The next day was no different than the day before and the men gathered their belongings and paid the inn keeper. As they walked down the path they discussed their options of travel. The day was sweltering and iolaus wanted to take the next ship to thebes...hercules on the other hand wanted to walk all the way back. Iolaus was furious and refused to budge, hercules knowing iolaus simply smiled and said “Fine you take the next barge out. I'm walking!” iolaus gave hercules an angry stare and retorted “Well then go! I'll take the next barge out!” Hercules began to walk and simply waved his hand at iolaus saying “ See ya in a few days.” at this point iolaus was fuming and ran like lighting to catch up to his partner.
While the two friends were bickering they never saw the jaded pair of eyes watching them from above....it was hera and she now knew this would be her only chance to destroy what her stepson truly cared for. Hera silently followed the two men and noticed they were walkiing towards a river this was hera's chance....as the two men walked the day started to get cloudy hercules walked several paces ahead of iolaus and seeing an the shorter man coudn't keep up walked slightly behind hercules never loosing sight of him until they came to the rivers edge. Hera whipped up the soil from under iolaus's feet as they neared the bend that's when iolaus was hit in the face with hera's curse. The sand blinded him and as he desperately tried to clear his eyes he fell head first into the river. Hercules froze at the horrifying scream as he heard but couldn't see iolaus plunge to his death straight down into the icy cold waters of the river below. And just as quickly he ran to save iolaus. once hercules reached the edge where iolaus fell he could see the purple patch worked vest of iolaus and ran down the side of the mountain.
As hercules ran he quickly spotted an old tree that had fallen to create a small walkway from one side of the valley to the other and he knew it was the only way he would be able to save his friend, his brother his partner. Hercules centered himself and secured his feet leaning back so that this arms swung low almost touching the water thats when he saw the bobbing vest and iolaus's already limp body heading toward him. Hercules concentrated on the vest knowing full well that he'd only have one chance. He relaxed and slowed his breathing to help steady him and grabbed onto the vest for dear life, he took a firm hold of iolaus's pants and heaved his lifeless body up out of the water. Hercules knew he had to work quickly and raced towards higher ground with iolaus in his arms. He reached a clearing once their he began to clear iolaus's lungs of the water and did so with one mighty punch as iolaus coughed up water hercules steadied him on his side so that he wouldn't end up chocking on the water he was expelling soon after he got up and quickly gathered some wood for a fire as it was nearly nightfall once the fire was started herc began to strip iolaus of his wet clothes and hung them on a rock near the fire so that they would dry. He wrapped iolaus in a blanket and smoothed the golden locks of hair that covered his face. He squeezed his hand and whispered in his ear. “I'm sorry iolaus, your safe now if only I'd listened to you earlier none of this would have happened to you....” and he set iolaus's hand back under the covers and stood watch over him.
As hercules tried to stay awake he soon fell asleep, as he slept the curse had already taken affect and the transformation was already taking place. Iolaus was in a deep dream state sleep and in this dream he saw a woman and was mezersied by her beauty so much that when he came face to face with her he felt her body merge with his until there was nothing left but her womanly figure at this time iolaus felt the transformation take hold and he was suddenly locked in the body of a worman as the transformation took hold ioluas woke up screaming in shock and terror he gasped for air and began to calm down he wiped the sweat off of his face and not wanting to look down at his body he slowly passed his hand over his throat and froze as he couldn't feel his adams-apple at this time his eyes grew wide and glassy. He kept moving his hand down and stopped at his pendant he breathed a sigh of relief only momentarily as his hand went down past his pendant to discover that his smooth chest had been replaced by a well developed breast and that was when the second scream pierced hercules sleep and he jumped into an attack position not knowing if danger was near
As hercules tired to adjust his eye sight to the moonlight he noticed that there was something very strange about iolaus but couldn't tell what it was. He knew that under extreme stress or panic iolaus voice naturally rose a notch, but nothing could prepare hercules fhe she sight before him he slowly walked around the well developed figure of a beautiful woman all indications that the masculine side of his best friend were no where to be found. The naked woman cried and desperately tried to cover herself. Then without waring an evil laugh pierced the night and hercules knew who it was and what had happened. a pair of evil pale green eyes hovered over them as a disembodied voice rang out saying “I see the only way to truly see you tortured was to cast a curse upon your beloved friend....” hercules roared at his stepmother saying “Hera!!!! what have you done to iolaus!” and hera replied with an evil laugh..” Your beloved hunter has been transformed into a woman and shall remain that way for ever!” I have finally gotten my revenge on you hercules because not even you could help him as there is no way to break the curse.
You will rot in tartus you evil bitch! and with that hera disappeared in a clap of thunder. Hercules stood shocked and angered while iolaus sat weeping into the blanket so that hercules wouldn't hear. He rush over to iolaus's side not knowing if to put his arms around his friend for fear that she would flee into the woods instead he sat next to iolaus and softly began to speak to her...”i..iolaus?...iolaus please look e...e....iolaus replied softly “ I...I can't herc.... I'm terrified of what I turned into.... oh my friend I'm so sorry ....Iolaus at least lift up your head and look at me I'm not ashamed of what you become....but I am hercules you just don't understand! Iolaus please help me to understand I so desperately want to understand what you feel and what you're thinking....don't shut me out now. And with that iolaus began to tell hercules everything once iolaus told hercules how he truly felt about him all hercules could do was smile there was a look of surprise on iolaus's face as he saw a single teardrop fall from hercules's face. “Iolaus....would you mind if I kissed you?” a smile spread across iolaus face as she said “yes” hercules leaned in to close the gap hercules was blown away by the kiss as it was soft and very gentle. After a few moments iolaus broke the kiss and looked lovingly into hercules eyes and said “Umm herc...before we go any father there's something I need to tell you....” hercules stared into iolaus's eyes andhouthout breaking the gaze said... “And what would that happen to be iolaus?” iolaus looked lovingingly into hercules's eyes and said.... “That I love you with all my heart, but I was afraid to tell you in fear that you might not want to be near me, may never want me the way I dreamed of wanting you holding me in a loving embrace....” iolaus was cut off by hercules's gentle but passionate kiss and once again iolaus melted in herc's arms returning the kiss deeper and more passionate than before.
It was hercules who broke the kiss this time and gazed up into the heavens where he knew hera was still watching and let out a loud lovingly laugh....it was then that hera realized her mistake, and cursed hercules again saying out of no where....you may have won this round but you won't be so lucky next time around hercules bastard son of zeus.
And hercules stared into iolaus's eyes and also confessed his true love and want for him as well fear that if he'd told him that iolaus would have fled into the woods never to be seen again. Once things settled back down hercules and iolus began to make love until the wee hours of the morning and from that moment on hercules knew they were destined for bigger and better times ahead.
