Water Street Urgent Care

8:00 a.m.
Mac called Trish and Frank to relay the news last night. They are on their way to help. Then she went in and slept on a cot while Harm cat napped in a chair near the bed. Sarah Rabb finally wakes up. Harm wakes suddenly, which in turn wakes Mac up.
“Morning Grams, Merry Christmas.”
“Arry istmas ‘arm.”
“Merry Christmas Mrs. Rabb… Sorry, Grams.”
“Arry istmas Ma…”
“How are you feeling, Grams,” Harm asks.
“I ‘ould be bet-ter.”
“Harm, I’m going down to the car. I’ll be backac gac gives them some time alone.
Mac goes down to the car and relays the news to Harriet. She passes it on down the line. Mac grabs the bag she put the gifts in for Grams, and all their bags. She stops to change in one of the restrooms. A little fresher than last night she goes back into the room. While she was gone, Harm told Grams what the doctor had said.
“Harm, I brought our bags up if you want to go change.”
“Okay, I could use a shave. I’ll be back Grams, don’t do anything I wouldn’t do,” Harm says flashing his trademark killer smile. Then he leaves them alone.
“I an see at you are g-ood for im. E eeds you.”
“I know Grams. I love him very much. He loves you soh toh too. You know, I never got to meet my grandparents. Will you be my Grams too? I promise it will be our secret.”
She nods yes and they hug as Harm comes walking back into the room. Mac moves off the bed. He comes over and hands his Grams a gift from the bag.
“Merryistmistmas, Grams.”
“Merry Christmas from me too Grams,” says Mac as she puts her gift on Grandma Sarah’s lap.
Harm helps move her bed up so she can sit up a little bit. She carefully and slowly opens Harm’s gift. It is a silver framed picture of Mac and Harm in seated on the floor pose, Harm holding Mac in his arms. They had some professional pictures taken of them for Christmas cards. They blew one up to an 8x11 picture and had it framed, since the last pictures Grams had of Harm was after Disneyland. Those were digital ones Trish had taken and sent along. But Trish hadn’t shared Harm was getting married because Harm wanted to surprise her for Christmas.
“H-arm it’s utiful. I ove it,” she smiles as she has a hard time trying to say certain letters.
Then she moves on to Mac’s gift. Harm had given her a few hints of things she likes so Mac could find something appropriate. She takes the same care as she did with Harm’s gift. It is a bath salts and soap set Mac made with Grafavofavorite scent.
“Ma.. I ove it.”
“It’s bath salts and soap with your favorite scent. I made you some because Harm said you like taking long baths,” Mac smiles. An orderly walks in with breakfast and Mac assures her that they will help Mrs. Rabb eat what she can.

Trish Burnett and Harm are in the hall with the doctor.
“Harm, I want to take her to California with us. There’s an excellent rehab facility there, I think she’o weo well at. I hate to close up the farm, but it’s only temporary for now.”
“All right Mom. Mac and I will take care of securing it before heading back to D.C.”
“Mrs. Burnett, if you can get me the number of the facility I can send Mrs. Rabb’s files. That way they can get a look at them before you arrive there.”
“That’s fine, I just have to dig it out of my purse here. Harm, you and Mac should go back to the house. Frank and I will be here a while.”
“Okay Mom.”
Harm goes back into the room with Mac, Frank and Grams. They have been trying to talk her into going to California.
“Grams, Mac and I are going back to the farm to secure it for a while.”
“No, ali-forn-ia. St-ay ere,” Grams protests.
Frank leaves to check on Trish, so that Harm and Mac can work their magic.
“Grams. Mom says there is a great rehab center in California she wants you to go to. Mac and I are going to keep an eye on the farm while you’re gone. Then we’ll come out to California when you’re all better and bring you back to the farm.”
“No go. St-ay at f-arm.”
Mac pulls on Harm’s shirt out to the hall. “Harm, let me talk to her. I’m a kick-ass lawyer. Let me see if I can cut a dea

“Fine. Work your magic. Mine’s failed.”
Mac goes in the room and pulls the curtain.
“Ok Grams, what do you want?”
“St-ay f-arm.”
“Well I was thinking that Harm would like you to be at the wedding, as a matter of fact so would I. I’d like to see you out there in a beautiful dress, talking and dancing with your grandson. Does that sound good to you?”
She nods yes.
“But how can you dance if you can’t walk? Why not go to California, and learn how to walk and talk, and then really surprise Harm by cutting a rug at the reception?”
“I ant to an-ce.”
“Ok now, how about we take you home to the farm until the holidays are over, and then Trish and Frank can take you with them. I’m sure you’ll love the sun. I promise I won’t tell Harm about you cutting a rug. From one Sarah soon-to-be-Rabb to another Sarah Rabb, do we have a deal?”
“It’s a eal,” Grams reaches out her hand to shake on it, “Nap a while?”
“Yes, rest a while. I’ll be bin ain a bit,” Mac walks out of the room head held a bit high.
“Well,” Harm asks leaning on the counter.
“They don’t call me the best for nothing.”
Harm snickers, “So, what happens now?”
“I got her to agree to go to California, but she gets to stay at the farm until after the first. Then she’s going with Trish and Frank.”
“What’s in it for you?”
“I can’t share that. We made a deal and I promised I wouldn’t tell you. Besides, A.J. said to not worry about work. I’ll call and update him on what’s happening. It’s going to be a short workweek anyway; the first is on a Thursday. I’ll see about working it so that we can start fresh on Monday. I’m sure he’ll find ways for us to make up the lost time.”
“Ok then, I’ll go tell Mom and the doctor. Thanks again Mac.”

Harm and Frank go off to unload the vehicles, while Trish makes some hot chocolate Rabb style. Mac starts up the fireplace, to cut the chill and then admires the pictures. She picks up one and hands it to Grams.
“Who’s in this one?”
“At is ‘arm’s and-father and Fa-ter with Sa-rah.”
“They look so much like Harm.”
“St-rong genes.”
“Yeah, I’d say so.”
“And all three just as handsome in a uniform,” says Trish as she walks in with a tray of hot chocolate.
“Right,” Mac says and all three women laugh.
Mac takes a cup and warms her hands; “I don’t know how you two did it, losing your husbands. I don’t know what I’d do if I lost Harm.”
“Of course you do Mac, you’re a strong woman like us. You could handle it.” Trish says, “And you will survive because not only are you a Marine but you have friends and family that will be there for you.”
“I st-ill t-alk to my ‘arm as if e’s ere, wit me. It omforts me,” Grams shares as best she can.
“Oh Grams, we need to get back to that chat we were having about Harm in the younger years,” says Mac.
“I brought more pictures,” says Trish.

“Do you remember what we were doing at this time last year,” Harm asks as he kisses in between her breasts again, then moving to kiss her neck.
Mac can barely think but she remembers, “You were proposing to me in the White House Rose Garden.”
“And what were you doing now,” Harm says as he positions himself at her entrance.
“Accepting your proposal,” Mac says as Harm slides in smoothly at the stroke of midnight.
“Happy New Year, Mac. Oh god, that’s it baby,” Harm moans, “Right there.”
“Happy New Year, Harm. Harder, baby, yes.”
Harm’s parents were sleeping and Grams woke up for a moment to wish her Harm a Happy New Year, then she goes back to sleep, feeling one of his kisses on her cheek.

“Right, do we hafta,” Harm whines.
“Yes Harm, the sooner we get it done the sooner we can come back to bed, after a snack of course.”
Harm jumps out of bed and starts getting dressed; he looks back from the doorway.

Mac finds a ring for Harm and has the date written inside with a special inscription. Mac also drags Harm to buy their cake knife and they are having it engraved, Harm & Sarah with date, the toasting glasses, and a guest book. Harm is going crazy because he had planned to be home by 11 a.m.
“Mac, how much longer?”
“I guess I could save buying the garter later,” she wickedlyles.les.
“This is because I teased you in bed this morning isn’t it?”
“Maybe, buy me lunch on the way home. Just be glad I’m not going to make you wrap all these gifts.”

“Ok, that would be at Epcot’s Living Seas Lounge. I think Under the Sea would be a great theme. Are there any other details?”
“I have called all the agents and I have given them your number. I also at least told them what city and a general place to be at. Where would you suggest for the wedding rehearsal?”
“Well, we could use one of the ball rooms at the Grand Floridian Resort. I think if you want to keep the surprise factor going it would be best if they don’t know about where they are getting married at until a couple days before.
“That’s great. We were planning on telling them about where they are getting married when we land in Florida.”
“Sounds great. Oh the entertainment planner is here so I have to run for that meeting. I will get back to you soon.”

Harm is at the mall to pick up Mac’s wedding ring and to set up for later that night. He left a note for Mac that he had a few errands to run. He stops in at a travel agency and arranges a honeymoon for Mac, even though they had agreed last July 4th that they weren’t going to plan one. Mac just misses Harm by an hour and picks up his ring at the same place. Fortunately the sales clerk didn’t tell her Harm had been in. She also stops off and buys breakfast on the way home.

“Listen, I’m done and I have to call Carol. Don’t you dare go in that room and snoop while I’m on the roof, you do and you’ll have a lonely valentine’s night.”
“Fine. I’ve got my own stuff to do. Meet you back here for lunch.”
Mac goes up to the roof with the portable phone. She dials and waits for an answer. Carol picks up.
“Mac, what a nice surprise! I haven’t heard from you in a while.”
“I know, I’m sorry. The wedding’s getting closer and I’m becoming a busy beaver. I thought I’d call and wish you a Happy Valentine’s Day and ask a big favor.”
“Sure what do you need?”
“Could you take charge of the guest book at the reception for me? And then after you can give it to the matron of honor.”
“Sure, I would be glad to.”
