Nothing about the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, any of them is mine. They all belong to Saban and Disney. And I am making no money what-so-ever from this work of fanfiction.
Chapter 9
“Who’s asking?” the woman looked around nervously. “And you’re being kind of rude calling someone ‘repulsive’,” she cleared her throat.
“And my first name isn’t ‘Lord’. In fact I don’t even have a first name. You’ve obviously got us mixed up with someone else,” the man said, and turned to the woman once more. He held out his arms, and she went to turn back into them. “Now go away. You are interrupting our dance.”
“I see,” Billy nodded. “So it’s true then. Zordon’s power has changed you.”
“Go away. We want nothing to do with anything even remotely connected to that time.” Rita said, as Zedd dipped her and she looked at the figure who stood before her, somewhat upside down. “that was another life.”
“One we don’t want to return to,” Zedd said, and Billy nodded again.
“So I understand. But I have to ask, is this a superficial change, or were your hearts truly changed as well?”
“What’s it to you?” Rita asked, as she frowned, and was spun away from, then back to, her husband’s arms.
“Well, for instance, if someone from your somewhat dubious and blackened past came to you asking for help, would you help them?”
“We don’t do anything to or for anyone from that time in our life. And if you try to force the issue, it’s only fair to warn you that we still retain our magical knowledge, though we haven’t chosen to use it for a while. “ Zedd frowned. “We’re real estate salespeople now. You want help, go see the Power Rangers. You want a house, we know some places where there are fine deals to be had.” He grinned as Rita bent him backwards, step-turned him, and they righted themselves.
“Or if you want some other kind of help, I‘ve heard that a few of those others, the ones who weren’t so touched by Zordon, are still in the galaxy somewhere plotting revenge,” Rita said as she dipped Zedd and Tango turned him. “But, that‘s not us, nor does that have anything to do with us.”
“I see,” Billy said. He bent his head, and sighed as his abdomen cramped, and he ran a hand over it. “Actually, I have no interest in those kinds of beings. I have had more than enough of their ‘hospitality’,” he said, and swallowed, hard. “And as for the Power Rangers, though I am going to eventually need their help as well, right now, I need your help more. And it’s help only you can give.” he answered, and the couple stopped dancing.
“Look,” Zedd rolled his eyes. “If you insist on interrupting our dance, and you refuse to go away, just come to the point.”
“I already have,” Billy said, and smiled sadly as he dropped the hood of his cloak. He gazed calmly at the other two, who stared back, and suddenly, almost comically, their mouths dropped open.
